Fantastic experience: Lovely food, fresh wedges, delicious bruschetta bread and a lovely handmade chicken sandwich. Good vibes, great atmosphere and the smell of the ocean. Highly recommend. Would come back.

Negative experience: Renovation is poorly done, new thread mills are cheap, new lockers work every second time. What was the point of closing for 8 months again?

Negative experience: Really disappointed to learn that they have taken out the baby change stations out of the family change rooms. They only have one in the whole facility now, and one nappy bin that's in that change room. (So when occupied there is no where for the wet swimming nappies to go) I was considering joining the baby and toddler swimming lessons but this has swayed my decision. After waiting so long for the center to reopen and only to find they have made it less family friendly. I would have thought a council ran facility would have made smarter more inclusive discussions in the planning process.

Positive experience: Reopened recently. Disappointed in the not so upgraded facilities. As parents we were then charged entry even though we still need to be in the pool with them. Never been charged before the upgrade. Someone please explain?

Negative experience: Very dangerous place in the eve, friendly was badly bashed there on anzac day 2025...shame as nice during the day

Fantastic experience: As a new Mum with ADHD and Anxiety things can get overwhelming very quickly. My toddler is a runner, and this can be triggering for me, especially when she is in areas that that can pose extra safety risks like around pools where she can slip or entry areas to places where she can run out to carparks. I worry about her constantly in these environments. It’s exhausting. My daughter has seizures of unknown cause so this is the icing on the cake at times as we don’t know when she will have one. Going to Pelican Park Recreation Centre was a big adventure for us, I looked up the visual story and access guide so I had a good idea around what the venue looked like, where the doors were, what the pool looked like and likely areas she might run and send me into panic. Being able to see all this before arriving to the venue halved my anxiety because I had a visual already. I let the staff at Pelican Park know via the Cérge app that I wanted to get my daughter into the family rooms quickly, and know where they were top get to and from the pool as easily as possible to avoid more opportunities for her to run, and be prepared in case of a seizure. Being exposed to water and swimming is super important for her…. And me! Britt was excellent and showed me the family change/shower area where my daughter couldn’t escape which was a relief! So I could get changed without panicking I’d be chasing her half naked down the foyer. Haha We had a fabulous time and without Cérge being there and being able to express what I needed before arrival, well, we wouldn’t have gone. Haha Blunt, but true. Thanks Cérge and thanks to Britt and her attentiveness and the staff at Pelican park we will be back!!

Negative experience: Highly wouldn’t recommend, you’re not even allowed to stretch your ankles even with socks on. So many other gyms do. Don’t waste your time here. No consideration for how the other person feels. The guy that works there can’t even communicate properly without causing distress. Confusing terminology too, girl says you can with socks then says immediately after that you can’t. Whatttt??

Negative experience: Honestly don’t bother coming if you’re looking for a fun and easy going environment for a good gym session. I’ve been stalked twice while being there for 25 minutes… really just uneasy feelings with no staff following up with making sure all users feel safe and valued

Negative experience: Next time I find errors in general safety and covid 19 directive breaches, I will go straight to authorities . Recently I informed you of two major non compliance issues which are of a great concern to me. These issues were quickly activated upon, but if your team was being proactive, these issues would never have arisen, and we would all be safer and wiser.

Fantastic experience: I use the pool and attend group classes frequently and have found the facilities to be good. The aquatic area can get quite busy with swimming lessons which limits lap lane availability. Front desk team are always super nice and great at remembering names. Although not directly related to Pelican Park, I wish the company that owns it would create an aquatic membership that includes aqua classes. I'm paying for a full gym membership even though I don't use the gym at all :(

Fantastic experience: This is about the sixth closest swim school for us. It's a decent commute every weekend, but keep coming because it's so well run. Anna is a fantastic teacher who has really brought out a huge level of both enthusiasm and confidence in our daughter to tackle learning to swim. It's a consistently enjoyable environment that produces fantastic outcomes with a fun environment to enjoy learning. We're also greatly appreciative of Meredith's consistently professional and proactive communications around the uncertainty of the past 18 months. Very well run from top to bottom. You have my most sincere thanks.

Positive experience: During covid they had strange rules what didn't make sense. Sunday morning swimming lessons with my son is always good.

Negative experience: I've contacted them several times about their booking app because it's primitive, not user friendly or allowing of any booking more than 2 days in advance. One class is never on app as available for booking so you have to call them to do it. Email responses are slow or not at all. It's quite frustrating trying to resolve anything with them or have questions answered. I do not feel as though social distancing is adequate in one class so I've stopped going to it. Class members were requested to workout facing eachother directly within less than a metre and this makes me feel very uncomfortable. Especially since some of the members are elderly.

Positive experience: I swim regularly at the pool, which is a model of accessibility for people with disabilities- automatic doors, ramp, pool wheelchairs, water around 29 degrees. And afterwards, coffee and breakfast at the Pelikan Societe overlooking Hastings Bight. Doesn’t get any better!

Negative experience: Rude staff at front desk, swimming teachers constantly changing, told one thing and then told different things regarding suspending payments due to children being unwell. Would NOT recommend to anyone. Been waiting nearly a year for entitled refund and nothing. Go elsewhere!!!

Fantastic experience: My son does summing lessons here every Friday, the staff are all lovely ( especially Jenny ) and the change rooms and pool are also clean. Also great value for money.

Fantastic experience: Swimming pool is nice and quiet, 3 different pools to choose from, especially suitable for younger kids. Love the spa, very powerful jets. Don't go here if you look for big entertainment but it has a little slide and fountains which come on now and then. Take skate board/bikes/scooters as they have great skate park and also big playground.

Positive experience: A great fun place to take my nieces and nephews for a swim at any time of the year. We all enjoy ourselves in the 3 different pools. The babies love the pelican slide in their pool whilst the others love the middle pool, when the fountain begins + water gushes down on them. The only negative is that the pressure of the water from it can be too intense, even on my adult shoulders. I do wish they used a different type of chlorine as it's also very strong, almost causing headaches for us. I do wish the KIOSK was opened again. They used to serve hot chips, domains, potato crisps + cold + hot drinks but now you can't get any food at all. Due to not having a kiosk, we always have to cut our visit short. BRING BACK THE KIOSK + MORE PEOPLE WILL COME + STAY LONGER. Please.

Negative experience: Sadly with new management they won’t allow a make- up class if your child misses a swimming lesson - not happy!!!! Along with difficulties getting in through the turnstile if the attendant is busy and price of such short classes I don’t think we’ll be doing swimming lessons here next year.

Positive experience: Great skate park for skills of all levels. My 7yo loved it. Recommend supervision of young ones as this park can get quite busy. A lot of older kids there. They were very courteous to my young one but would still recommend supervision.
