Negative experience: Actual gym is great - access to pool and sauna with fitness centre and great range of equipment. Just a bit of a shame: I paid entry and started running on a treadmill (headphones in and keeping to myself) a staff member camr up to me and told me to stop using the treadmill because someone was filming a video in the corner of the gym and the treadmill was in their audio. Perhaps they should not film in the middle of the day at a gym open to patrons. No signs or anything up. Why should I stop my own workout for their video??

Positive experience: ### 4-Star Review for Victoria University Aquatic Centre and Sauna I had a great experience at the Victoria University Aquatic Centre and Sauna. The facilities are top-notch, and the environment is always clean and well-maintained. The pool is spacious, with plenty of lanes available for swimming, even during peak hours. The sauna is a fantastic addition and offers a perfect way to unwind after a swim. It's well-kept and provides a relaxing atmosphere. The staff at the centre are friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any queries or needs. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that during busy times, the parking can be a bit of a challenge. Other than that, I highly recommend this facility for anyone looking to enjoy a great swimming and sauna experience.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been swimming Laps at VU AQUATIC CENTRE in Footscray since early 2023, the 25 meter pool always in great condition water wise and xlean. The staff and Life Guards are friendly, and very helpful also always there to assist you. I would recommend swimming Laps here if you live in the west looking for a good safe pool and too bring your children to learn to swim.

Positive experience: I just started going here, it’s not particularly cheap and you have to pay for parking. I feel like if I’m paying $100 a month that maybe the uni could figure out some parking for people who pay for the gym. Good facilities, but very unknowledgeable staff, had to sign up online.

Positive experience: Experience with staff and swimming instructors have been great. Nice views of the river. Facilities could do with a bit of an upgrade though.

Positive experience: Pros - Has a sauna - Sauna is hot - Friendly staff - Sauna Cons - Parking is paid and scarce - Dead rat at bottom of stairs (might be a pro for some) Gym equipment was a little dated but had everything I needed.

Negative experience: Have had to change my review. Last two swims I’ve had have been terrible. Last week EDA decided to run their squad in the only public lane. This week the water polo people were menaces, constantly got hit by balls and they took the backstroke flags down halfway through

Negative experience: The pool is good and well maintained, however I have had some terrible experiences with management. I bought a swimming cap from them that did absolutely nothing to keep my hair dry - I tried it multiple times on different occasions and nothing. Management "couldn't help" me. On another occasion I bought goggles that leaked, they didn't suggest I try them on before going in the pool, and when I got in they just leaked water into my eyes. I came out of the pool 5 minutes later and got offered no refund, no apology, just a "too bad". Terrible experiences, I won't be returning.

Positive experience: A great pool. I've been swimming here for years. Staff are very welcoming. My only complaint is that too many lanes are given to the triathlon group in the morning. This leaves only 3 lanes (sometimes 2) for community swimmers and I have to avoid Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for this reason.

Negative experience: Have gone to the gym a couple of times, once to check it out and once to sign up. Both times the receptionists weren't very helpful. The first time, the receptionist couldn't tell me any information about the different memberships, the sign up process etc. so I looked it up online after. Tried to get some additional information over the phone and was told to "just come in and a PT can talk to you". When I then went to sign up, they didn't inform me of the 3 month minimum term, I had to ask for all the relevant information instead of them providing an overview of the membership terms, and they couldn't tell me whether there would be a PT available at the times that I would want them. I was asked to sign up and pay the month upfront before even talking to a PT. Then made an appointment which they double booked and had to change. It's a bad first impression and I hope the intro session with the PT goes well (in which case I'll change my review to reflect this). Edit: have been going to the gym for over 6 months, the trainers are great, invested in my training, and other gym goers friendly - but the gym administration largely useless.

Negative experience: Visited a lot before, good swimming pool. But on 21/11/2018, the receptionist was impolite, he threw the bill to us like throwing rubbish and his attitude was unacceptable.

Negative experience: This is a protest vote. Pool doesn't have a steam room, spa or heated lanes. I CAN see why people find this place amazing because of the panoramic views of the Flemington race course. BUT for me even it there was panoramic views of Victoria's secret models, paying for entry to this place without the amenities other pools offer is not worth it. Don't know why it gets 4 stars, so my vote is to bring down overall rating.

Positive experience: Great pool. Nice range of equipment and not too busy. Very few group classes in the evenings though.

Positive experience: I almost don't want to review this because it feels like a footscray secret. And, there is nothing I love more then not just an empty lane but an entire pool to myself. I know that I choose my times carefully as there are lesson post 4pm on weekdays and until 12pm on weekends. So if you are an early morning swimmer or if you work in the area and want a lunch break swim. This is your place.
