Positive experience: Facilities are out dated and it is always 35c plus degrees inside.

Fantastic experience: Sunshine's leisure centre is a nice facilitity for everyone especially family with kids. Staff are friendly especially Madaesya she is the star. Great attitude and always provides services with a smile. I only go to places that staff are friendly helpful and enjoy doing their jobs rather 'its just a job'. Keep up the good work Madaesya and all the staff at SLC.

Fantastic experience: We really don’t want to share a review of this place because we’re afraid it will get overrun with people. But the staff here is wonderful. It’s a smaller facility but clean, friendly, and wonderful. If you want fitness, it’s a great place. If you wants swims, here’s the place. If you wants the giant slide, not the place.

Positive experience: The outside pool should be kept open week days for retirees and on weekends and school holidays when families would utilise it most whether or not it's 'profitable'. It has been absolutely heartbreaking being kicked out at 12 o'clock on glorious sunny bright blue- sky days simply because those are the hours. There is no sense behind the decision to limit access to the only outdoor pool in the western suburbs this way. Our taxes and rates pay for this. The benefits of public pools to the community in terms of physical and mental health and wellbeing and social cohesion far outway their monetary value. Public services are not meant to be money making ventures.

Negative experience: Spotted some racist behaviour practiced by some of the reception staff. Was monitoring this for half an hour and how the people are treated based on their ethnicity and colour was different. Asian people were not even looked or greeted when entering or returning where as it opposite for others. These staff need to be educated as they are getting paid by the membership we take here. Management please take action to make this community a better one.

Positive experience: One star lost because of the cold showers in the bathrooms. Otherwise the centre is pretty good. A-bit old school but it works.

Positive experience: A great pool, it has lots of pools with different sizes all for different ages. There is nothing too special about this place but is still very nice.

Negative experience: ARROGANT MONEY GRABBERS. I have been a customer of sunshine lesuire center in the past myself and my husband both had gym memberships. we recently had a son who we thought would be able to benefit from their swim school. but we wanted to trial a class before we signed up to a membership as you would for any membership, youd do a free or paid trial session. when i enquired about this they said they do not offer this regardless of the fact we have done business with them in the past they refused and were rude and arrognat in their delivery. they con you into a membership with a minimum of 3 weeks payable rather than allowing casual entry to a class to try out before you commit. this screams, ammature management. who runs a center this way? what sense does it make? they tried to lie say they have too many kids to allow casual members (not reguar casual mind you just a once off beofre singing up... willing to pay of course)... I checked online they have HEAPS of spaces available for the swim classes I'm enquiring about. its deceptive, rude and terrible off putting. no wonder they have so many empty spots... wasnt just rude from the staff memebr who i originally spoke to but I got a clal back from the supervisor at my request who continued to be just as rude. i guess the staff can only learn to be as decent as their supervisor so i now understand why i was spoken to so poorly the first time having dealt with the supervisor who was condesending, arrogant and dismissive. you catch more bees with honey.

Fantastic experience: Love the outdoor pool, great music. Staff are absolutely lovely.

Positive experience: Great pool for kids swimming. Outdoor splash pad is nice on a hot day, pity it isn't shaded at all. Outdoor pool, spa, steam room, lap pool and casual recreational pool. On the negative, the showers are these high pressure, set pressure and temperature showers that are really unpleasant. My daughter hates these showers, the best we can do is give her a quick rinse instead of soaping like we do everywhere else.

Positive experience: I use the gym at Sunshine leisure centre purely for the convenience. Sure, there are better gyms out there, but this one has pretty much everything you need without the gym junkies. Rarely have to wait and is perfect for those who head to the gym during normal working hours. And of course the convenience of a pool, steam room and spa are a bonus.

Negative experience: It dirty I don't like it

Fantastic experience: Kids love it here either during the summer in the outside pools where we take some sausages for the bbq they have there. And the inside pools are actually heated! everywhere I take the kids, they say heated pools but they are freezing! Not here.

Negative experience: Wonderful location (close to station and shops) but the management is old-school (not proactive). The centre closes on weekends at 4:30pm...YES...just when many families must've finished their daytime chores and thinking about going for a swim!! They have this awesome outdoor pool and picnic area but guess what...on weekends it is CLOSED at NOON!! Pure genius. They heat the pool for few hours and just close it down, just because few "smart" people who're running the centre decided it is too expensive to operate it after lunchtime. No other outdoor pool in Melbourne stays closed for public (they are actually open until 8:00pm) and that too during warm Spring/Summer time. They keep saying they don't get enough patrons to justify the extended hours; this is hard to believe. Why is Sunshine different from other suburbs, where people do use the outdoor facilities until late in the evening? You keen it open or even incentivise people (by offering them discount for using the facility on weekends) and see more people will frequent their visits. Not many suburbs have this much land + infrastructure to offer healthy-lifestyle benefits to their citizens. Here in Sunshine we have everything, but the management lacks the willingness to change!!

Positive experience: Leisure centre is good but lacking some facilities like dryers.After swimming you can’t dry your swimsuits because there is no dryer available in the leisure centre.

Negative experience: Unkept and not very clean. Lockers were out of service, and worst of all, there was a large group of people there (approximately 10 families - 50 or so people), who's boys were very rough and loud in the water, which forced a lot of the other patrons in the outside pool to have go to the inside pool, and the lifeguards seemed to be too afraid to say anything to them. Totally inappropriate and wrong, both by the parents of the boys and the lifeguards that let them virtually run amok the entire time. We won't be going back there again, and I suggest all other people/families that are looking for a pleasant day at the pool to totally stay away from this place (Sunshine Leisure Centre). ☹️

Fantastic experience: Went there for the first time for the women only session and it was such a great experience. The staff were very friendly and met new people. They have women only sessions everyday Sunday 5pm - 7pm.

Negative experience: Equipment is limited, dirty and outdated. Gym is too small and things are placed in a doltish form. Very unorganised. People are ok, we do what we can. The pools are nice though, pretty convenient and safe.

Fantastic experience: Just signed up for full access membership and had a great first work out. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I recomend signing up. Price is very reasonable considering the access to amenities and included programs avaliable.

Negative experience: Rule seems to change depending on the day. 1 week your allowed to be in the spa while 9 year old is in the pool, As long as you got you sees on him at all times. Next week your not allowed to be in the spa, just the pool.......‍♂️‍♂️ If you you are going to have a rule saying parent's cant be in the spa while child is in the pool, so you can supervise child at all times. At least make it a consistent rule.

Fantastic experience: It was the first visit for me during one of the ladies only Saturday evening swimming sessions. Only 2 indoor pools were open with spa, but it was plenty of space. The inclusion of the 1.2m pool was perfect for slow laps swimming. I hope the ladies swimming session will be made permanent.

Positive experience: Very friendly staff but facilities could use an upgrade. Sister gym in Keilor is a amazing. I come here for the friendly staff and feels more like meeting friends then working out. Keep up the good work.

Negative experience: The staff are rude. Their rules are unreasonable and prevent paying customers from using their facilities. Their swimming instructors are so incompetent that the Sunshine leisure centre's own staff don't trust them to supervise the children in their lesson. This is a terrible place to swim.

Positive experience: Great swimming centre. In the indoor section there’s an area for the small kids with sprinklers and shallow waters. There is a pool for swimming laps and another pool for free swimming and that’s also where they have classes such as water fitness. There’s also a very busy spa bath and a sauna. Outside there’s another area for kids and a big pool for laps and plenty of space for relaxing. The changing rooms are the only let down. It is always a bit dirty, rubbish on the ground and so on. All in all it’s a great facility and I would highly recommended it.

Positive experience: Most of the gym instructors are pleasant and professional. It's hard to get a park in front of the gym due to the new fruit shop that has opened up across the road. There is an Asian lady at reception Thuy who knows nothing and is rude and arrogant to members!!

Positive experience: Not the most well equipped pool, but there are plans to become better. Staff do their best and their attitudes are fantastic. Unfortunately patrons frequently blow bushys in the steam room. First thought is Yeah I’m heading out now after that effort you disgusting pig. I am looking forward to the future. Been coming here for over 3 decades and have seen many changes. Would appreciate a better car park setup where the inconsiderate customers don’t double park and wait for long periods blocking traffic.

Positive experience: Amazing. Had a good time there. Heard swimming lessons are good there for the kids, place looks quite modern, and for the 3-7age section there's a mini pool and a water fountain. Saw toddlers splashing around in the fountain, it was the cutest thing I saw all day! Outside there's also more water fountains. For the indoor swimming pool mainly for teens/adults a sign says the pool is heated, when I went in, it was freezing. I am used to icy water, but I was a bit confused at the fact it said heated. One more thing, maybe add more family rooms with showers. There are only 2, I saw a family of 5 waiting outside one, 15 minutes after I had a shower and changed clothes they were still there. The disabled toilet door doesn't open. I saw someone with a kid try and open it since it said "vacant" but it wouldn't budge a bit. St Albans Leisure Centre is closer to me, but as that is getting heavily renovated (reconstructed) Sunshine leisure centre has been my go-to.

Negative experience: I purchased swimming lessons for 2 people and the lady said I got discount because I registered for 2 people at the same time. Because in the receipt just write "swimming lessons" for what I paid, so I asked how many lessons I got. She said 10 lessons and I even repeat it again to make sure I heard the right thing. However, almost every time I got to the centre to do the lesson with my friend. The people at the reception always said I still owned the money. When I showed them the receipt and explain to them, then they let me in. That continued to happen when there were 2 lessons left. Another lady asked me to pay extra money, because it was semester two at that moment. I showed her the receipt and told her I had paid 10 lessons. She told me the centre only offer swimming lessons in a semester pack, not lessons pack, what I paid was for semester one, now was semester two. Therefore, I had to pay to continue with my lessons. I told her if the other lady told me about that I would wait for the next semester rather than paying the same amount with the others but doing 2 lessons less. After talking for a while, she said the staff had gave me misinformation, then she let us in, but after the lesson we had to come back to fill a form to withdraw from all lessons (which means we lose 1 lesson). After 3 or 4 weeks, I received a message said there was still amount owning in my account. I went to centre and the staff here was rude and unprofessional. They made me feel everything was my fault and they asked me to paid the money or left the centre with the owning account and will never can enrol in any activities there.

Positive experience: This place isn't super fancy, but it's a great place to take toddlers for a fun swim. The indoor shallow area is quite large with a rubber floor and a number of water features (bubblers, sprayers and waterfalls) for them to play in. The outdoor play area is also decent with multiple pieces of play equipment although the water dumping feature is only 1/3 functional. There's ample parking with a huge parking garage next door that gives the first few hours parking free. There are always plenty of lifeguards visible and on duty.

Positive experience: its a good place, I started casually and I am now a member. If anything it has issues with crowding and parking. The outdoor pool is great, but the indoor one is too small to service the needs, so many classes going on and kids crammed in. But the staff try to meet everyones needs. The classes are great and the gym top notch, and there is 24 hour access to the gym. No egos at the gym, you have old people, young, all races, nice and chill place. Staff are good too. I think the outdoor pool could be open longer.
