Fantastic experience: Overall, a great gym. The size is pretty big and contains a wide range of basically all the equipment you need. Haven't been to any classes, but the energy of them seems great. They also have a pool, but sometimes they have kid lessons, which take up most if not all the space. The relaxation area is really nice, with a sauna and steam room, however the steam room doesn't always work. Bathrooms could do with a little more cleaning, but everything else makes up for it.

Negative experience: This gym kept charging me even after my membership had expired. When I noticed and cancelled it, they promised a refund but never gave it back. I even paid for 3 extra months just waiting for the membership to end so I wouldn’t have to pay their unfair cancellation fee, and yet they still kept charging me afterwards. What a disgrace, don’t join this gym unless you want to be scamme

Negative experience: Good gym, plenty of room. But for the price, everything’s so old and filthy. The whole club is far from clean, FLG needs to up the game in terms of equipment and cleanliness. Or update the club all together.

Negative experience: Most expensive gym in Adelaide and they don’t have a basic Ab wheel. All benches are too old and painful to workout. The guys there told me to buy one and bring it with me. Paying almost $1000 a year I consider that I should change to another chain. There are other gyms that they charge half of the price and have new machines, are clean and have everything I need, including a basic Ab wheel.

Negative experience: Saw the advertisement of 6 weeks free, end of the month literally the 1st. We come in and we tell the worker we saw it yesterday and if he could give us the same deal. He tried to upsell us on a membership and tried to convince us to go on a tour. I don’t want no damn tour, I wanted to know if u could do 6 weeks free as it was yesterday. Spoke to us as if we were stupid. Teach ur workers respect. Just because we are foreign doesn’t mean they can speak down to us. Overall bad customer service. Thanks

Negative experience: The place is filthy..rubbish on the window sills including a rotten apple core that had been there a long time and the machines need a good clean! During peak times all the machines are taken by people just sitting on them on their phones not even working out...we watched one guy sitting on this machine on his phone for well over 10 minutes..there should be a rule in place for this!

Positive experience: Has all you need. But needs a good clean and also perhaps a renovation. I hate how gym removed all mats during covid as now you need to do stretches on the dirty floor (unless you bring your own mat). This gym is much more dirty than Adelaide City and West Lakes.

Negative experience: new to Adelaide so have signed up for a couple of trials at different gyms here before choosing one, and was so disappointed with Goodlife. called the gym ahead of time to confirm the trial had been processed and we were good to visit and the girl on the phone was pleasant/excitable and confirmed everything was in order, but having driven over an hour to the gym, we were ‘greeted’ by a completely different attitude from this employee and refused entry because we didn’t ’live or work in the area’ as per t&c’s, despite not having been asked for any proof of address or occupation (not sure why you would need this for a day pass?) we could’ve sorted that out very easily but unfortunately that’s not how the situation was approached. we headed straight for Snap Fitness in Hilton instead where the staff were far more welcoming and helpful. will likely be choosing a membership at Snap. will also be avoiding Goodlife throughout our travels across Australia.

Negative experience: The other 1 star reviews are correct. Terrible customer service. Their staff made a mistake. No acknowledgement of fault on their end. No attempt to remedy the issue.

Having access to GoodLife Payneham is worth the upgraded membership to access the pool in summer Staff are great and helpful This is a great gym for a basic membership if you live in Adelaide's eastern suburbs like Magill, Firle, Newton and Toorak Gardens
Negative experience: Be Aware!!! Pool closing time is not as advertised! You can't have a 10 minutes swim before it closes, because "At the time there was no one in the pool so we closed it earlier. We made an announcement." Being inside the gym for 15 minutes already, and using other facilities, and walking around the building, I must have magically missed it. If you can't keep your business open you should change your operation time. NO EXCUSE!!

Enrolled our little one into their swim school (and cancelled the spot at the existing school), only to find out on the day (by calling to confirm) that the ENTIRE TERM had been cancelled. No communication prior or afterwards (I emailed to find out more info, never heard back). We now also lost our spot at the old school so no swim class for the little one... Will never go near this place again

Negative experience: After 7 years i've finally quit to go elsewhwere. Outdated equipment. Large areas but really badly set up. Needs a total refresh. They are taking faclities away rather than adding. This week they took down the TV's in the cario area. Missing some standard gym equipment and what they do have either needs repair or replacing. One of the rowing machines has been broken since before Covid hit. Cross trainers constantly broken. With the Derimut's and Ryderwear Gym's opening all over the place. Do yourself a favour and go to a modern new gym. I feel for this gym's managers who work really hard but are held back by the incompetence of the senior managers in Brisbane

Charged with no refund weeks of unused, unwanted membership because a staff member didn't do their job. USELESS! Taylor the manager not help whatsoever! Positive experience: Great gym, good and varied range of equipment to suit everybody and a swimming pool! However, maintenance is poor. Machines with minor defects are common and invariably the wipes dispensers are empty or just difficult to use. Hand sanitiser bottles are often empty and rubbish bins overflowing. Not good in these days of Covid19. And the staff attitude? Meh. Just returned after a long covid-safety absence. General maintenance has deteriorated further. Spray bottles don't spray. Soap dispensers in showers empty (Monday morning!). Padding on machines cracked and torn. Seriously rethinking my 10 year membership. The pool is the only bright light.

Negative experience: I registered 6 years ago with goodlife Payneham when it was so good, since two years it has been really bad knowing that they charge more than most of the gyms but still they don’t maintain machines which are very old, when it’s hot the AC is not on most of the times at night and the ventilation in general is very bad! I requested multiple times to take care of it and they promised but nothing so I terminated my contract last Tuesday and didn’t receive any calls or emails. So bad I really don’t recommend it to anyone as you will be wasting your money.
Fantastic experience: After Training at Goodlife since it was Kerry Obrians 25 years ago;I’ve met dozens of managers. The new manager Krystal has been one of the most proactive friendly professional managers I’ve had the pleasure to meet. Her attitude and ability to facilitate a noticeable transition with cleanliness and organisation as well as addressing all associated issues throughout the entire club. Krystal Always makes an effort to say hi and runs a dynamic friendly team whom are all professional and approachable. Goodlife Payneham is awesome the value for money is unequalled and with all of the classes included as well as a pool sauna and steam room with the location; and the team make it a great experience. Fantastic experience: Visited this club while over from interstate. Good club, lots of different areas to use, plenty of open space, good machines, big group training room, pool. Only negative is I could only find bathrooms near the entry so have to go all the way back out if you're upstairs. Friendly staff. Would come here again when in town.
Negative experience: Definitely would not reccomend this gym whatsoever. I've had several gym memberships now from different places but no place matches the toxicity of this place. I wanted to do a 5 day trial to see how good it was but ended up being roped into a membership with a '7 day cooldown period' because I wasn't eligible for the free trial. The gym itself was really average, some of the machines including the leg press was wonky and unsafe and they only had 2 bench press racks. Limited space, airflow and lighting didn't help with the atmosphere either. At the end of the trial when attempting to cancel they continuously prodded me into giving them a reason as to why I want to leave, delayed the cancellation process to try and do it outside of the cooling down period so I would have to pay a crazy cancellation fee and left the desk unattended when I tried to go and cancel in person. Keep in mind during this period they did take out money during this week although in the contract it does say it will be 'refunded'. I guess we'll find out. Regardless, the lack of transparency in this situation is unacceptable from a gym that takes pride in being able to help with 'transforming your life'. The whole process was difficult, toxic and quite difficult to manage. If you're somebody who needs an additional human to 'motivate' you into going to the gym, goodlife is the place for you. Otherwise, gyms like Derrimut, Zap and Anytime has better offers and are much easier to manage. Anybody who says this gym is 'good' has either been hypnotised into saying so or has no idea what a good gym really is. Avoid goodlife, because it's more like terrible life once you join.

Negative experience: I joined gym but they didn't told me in contract time about joining fees 108$ and I signed the contract but after I saw they deducted money .i only joined the gym for only swiming butswimming pool is busy i returned home two times. you can not entry in swimmin pool .after that I took decision to cancel my contract and apart I paid 240$ all to gather 348$ I paid.

Negative experience: Not recommended. Some cardio equipment incredibly dirty probably never been cleaned. Very outdated ant barely working gym equipment, no social distancing, no A/C just old fans. There is no antibacterial wipes and etc. Perfect place to catch covid or other disease.

Negative experience: Been experienced with unwelcome and rude by one greeting staff on Sunday morning 8.45am, 4/9/22. Have heard and read quite a bit that this gym doesn’t really welcome any other background but Australian only.
Negative experience: Worst customer service I've ever had compared to other gyms. They share customer details to trainers without permission, and let trainers attract customers on goodlife's behalf. However, if anything happens, the only thing they'll do is tell you there's nothing they can do cuz the trainers are not goodlife's staffs. Some equipment is always broken.

Negative experience: Swimming coordinator wasn't friendly towards people with Asian background. I noticed it a number of times where she was very warm to other families of students but not to the families with Asian background. I don't feel welcome here.
Negative experience: Worst gym ever..poor management…they bind you in contract for 12 months…due to health issues I just went once…I couldn’t go I been paying I tried to cancel they asked me whole year fee as I left my job so I could not pay..recently receptionist told me that I don’t need to pay as it’s been more than a year I been paying every week but manger refused and asked me $225 extra fee as she has freezed my membership for one month I requested her that she could check it in her system I just went one day….and I am really going through hard time as I am not working and really unwell she agreed for $75 with medical certificate. I provided her with medical certificate and borrowed some time as I lost my card but every week they been deducting $16.75. When I got my card ready i told them I have already payed $50 so please take $15 but they refused and told that I have to pay $75 altogether …they treated me so bad…I don’t recommend this gym to anyone ever…they are scammers
Positive experience: This place has improved with the new functional spaces and added racks. The weights area is fine but key equipment always seems broken (get a new leg press already this is the worst machine ever). Large cardio area and a lot of classes i never go to. Pool is not bad for a gym. 24 hour access is nice. Adding that the leg press is literally always out of order. People who use this gym are clueless at how the thing actually works.

I enjoy yoga and body balance classes, frequently use weight equipment and treadmill. My the most favourite place is the sauna that keeps me warm and healthy during the long cold winter days and fantastic specious women’s changing room. Thank you Goodlife Payneham.
Positive experience: Weight facilities are outdated. However, pool is well maintained and so are the change rooms. Plate leg press machine locks up randomly and is dangerous. Overall it is clean in all areas. Staff will try to push you into signing a long membership.
Fantastic experience: Goodlife Payneham is a super great gym. I’ve been with Goodlife for more than 5 years. Payneham gym is always my first choice. Because it combines all of the facilities in one gym. Very convenient and user-friendly. Strongly recommend this gym.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, with a great variety of equipment with helpful staff who keep it friendly and clean. Also is very female friendly on the gym floor as well with helpful staff always on hand - a rarity. Good classes ( love the RPM!) also has a nice hot sauna and steam room all at a good price! No complaints at all.
Fantastic experience: After several failed attempts at many other gyms, I am so glad I joined Goodlife and since than I have been a regular. The classes are amazing and that's what I mostly do during the week. Love the Sauna there but Steam room could have been better as it's not hot enough. Highly recommended for someone like me who was never a gym person as Goodlife is more than a gym.
Fantastic experience: 5 or 6 years as a member here and I just love the group fitness classes. Great instructors and friendly atmosphere make it easy to be motivated. I've certainly benefited in fitness and quality of life. In my experience it's a nice safe non judgemental community too.
Positive experience: Good gym with heaps of workout options, 2 levels, small pool, Multiple cardio machines, free weights and weight machines, awesome classes, spin studio, functional training space, personal trainers and small training groups available. Friendly atmosphere with down to earth people, varied ages. During peak hours you will need to find street parking. Reason for only 4 stars: Some equipment a bit aged and some equipment needs to be replaced. Rowing machines constantly out of batteries, hand sanitiser often empty, could be a bit cleaner.

Fantastic experience: I am with the gym for more than 5 years. Besides the great equipments and facilities, I particularly like their feedback service. From time to time, the management send me e-mail for the feedback, and I find they would respond to it promptly. I also thank Brayden McGarrity, who attends to the details of my feedbacks, and personally find ways to resolve the issues. This is not something I could find in other gym. Also, the relationship manager, Nyssa Taylor, is friendly and helpful. She always has a smile in her face, when talking to the members, no matter how busy she works on multi tasks.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of a lot of gyms. Ive owned my own gym. Payneham Goodlife is clean, professional and the equipment is less to none. The staff are very friendly, well groomed, ooze and represent fitness on a top level. I have done one PT class with Sharelle and it was amazing. Met every expectation. Knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Found my Gym!!!!

Positive experience: It is 42 degree and they turned off the air conditioning system in gym. Wooooo! Unbelievable!!! Everyone like in the sauna room! Hey boss, someone will die in here if she/he can’t carry the heat !
Negative experience: So the customer service is lacking. I showed up to check out this place, the receptionist was rude and said too bad come back later and you should have made an appointment. I get that you might have so many members already you don't care about having more members. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: We know the aircon does not work but close the darn windows at night! The gym is full of mosquitoes at nights and we are full of mosquito bites. This gym has become rubbish
