Fantastic experience: My experience of this gym in the twelve months I have been attending is that it is inviting and welcoming. It has always been clean, and well maintained. The review posted by 'Aussie Aussie' seems too far fetched to be true. For two people to have such differing experiences does not ring true, and I suspect that 'Aussie Aussie' is representing a competing business.

Negative experience: Cancelled my account 5 months ago and now I got charged money with no notice or receipt. Tried ringing the team to sort and they never call back or fix the issue. Worst customer service, even the manager had no explanation on what the amount was for which got deducted after 5 months.

Fantastic experience: I have found Royal Park Goodlife very accommodative and highly attentive to my fitness goals and helping me achieve profoundly over and above my expectations. One of my goals was to participate in the much needed fundraiser, The MS Mighty Swim as a team participant across a 24hr endurance swimming event. Not having grown up in a swim club and taking up swimming later in my life I was able to swim 10 KM. Two trainers I would like to champion are Lachlan, my initial personal trainer, and Emma, my Body Pump group fitness instructor. Being a female in my late 50's I felt safe in both instructors hands who understood injuries yet still actively encouraged me to push my endurance further. Emma is such a role model in Pump workshops, encouraging me to push hard, though within my limits yet also to extend results. Emma guides with intelligence and restraint as to prevent injuries yet took time from her schedule to individually assist me after class to modify incorrect techniques. In the water I am still trying to catch that black line, but I am now stronger, quicker and my recovery is efficiently timely. A big shout out and huge appreciation to Emma and Lachlan.

Negative experience: Have been attending this gym for over a year now. Decided to cancel my membership. The gym to me doesn’t seem welcoming. Can’t even use the pool without being glared at by the men who use it. Can’t even go to try and use a locker without the woman in the bathrooms fully naked standing in the way of the lockers. Not a good look. They don’t even move out of the way for you. I’ve had a couple of bad experiences with some of the gym uses where nobody would be using a certain machine and I mean nobody using it, so I go to use the machine just to have someone go completely off at me saying they were using it when this person was on something else at that time. Swearing at me making my experience feel horrible. The cleanliness of this gym especially changerooms is filthy. A lot of the times I use the gym when cleaners are there cleaning just to have a male cleaner in the woman’s change rooms, now how about a warning or even a sign like some other places warn you if a male is cleaning woman’s change rooms at the time. Cleaners do a slack job. So much grime and floor filthy still once they’ve even cleaned. I find some of the staff are quite unwelcoming. Especially some of the personal trainers. I’ve been to other gyms in the past and have always seen trainers or staff attending people who are using the gym and offer help if needed especially if you’re unsure of equipment. I’ve now decided to join a new gym, and have gone to this new gym and found everyone welcoming and staff way more helpful. First day at this new gym and already I’ve learnt how to use the equipment properly. The people and general atmosphere is my welcoming. Even the gym users are super friendly.

Fantastic experience: There's two people at Goodlife Royal Park that I'd like to recommend, Diksha and Joe. Joe for his help and support at the gym and introducing me to Diksha who is a Veterans contact person that has helped me getting my Vets White Card for health services and other things with the DVA. Both of these people do their roles well and are very friendly and affable in their approach to people, I highly recommend them.

Negative experience: Not impressed. Friday asked on behalf of a friend with Terminal Cancer to stop her being harassed for a $10 debt that she had paid. No one from head office or Port Adelaide answering emails and phone calls. So angry. Will try again to get this harassment stopped. She doesn't need any more stress. Negative experience: Half the time the pool is closed as somethings 'broken' or out of order. The other half it's occupied by the aquarobics which for some reason take up every lane in the poor regardless of how many people are in the class. Paying a premium $40pw for all gym membership for the services yet cannot even use them. Tried calling the club prior to coming to see if the pools open and no one even answers the phone. Poor services and management.

Negative experience: I have been a good life member for many years now and I have never experienced the treatment my mother experienced at Goodlife Health Clubs Royal Park. After connecting with trainer Shannon Mander for personal training sessions, he advised he would come up with a training plan for her. They had a scheduled session today to go over this plan. He was 30 minutes late to their scheduled session, without any communication. Shannon then proceeded to advise the receptionist that he refused to see my mother until she paid for her direct debit. This was not communicated as she was advised to come into the club to go over the training program. She had not been advised she was required to pay this amount to be physically seen, when the plan had not been created nor discussed. To add insult to injury, after waiting to speak with him for 30 minutes (as advised by the receptionist) he proceeded to walk past her and completely ignore her. When trying to discuss these events with the receptionist this morning, I was advised her manager was to busy to talk and I should contact head office if I wanted to discuss this further. I have had a positive experience at other Health Clubs, but the entire process has been unnecessarily difficult and seems to indicate a bad culture from those on the ground, to senior management.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I joined this gym and it's been more than a year now. We never lasted that long in a gym. That's also thanks to Nick who is always there welcoming us with a smile and such a positive attitude and great customer service. Negative experience: After calling to cancel my membership on early February after finding out that even a 3 month membership continues to be active unless cancelled, I was told that 2 weeks payment would come out before being cancelled, I agreed. I noticed money still being taken out in May. I called the club to which I spoke to Adele who is clearly lacking in customer service skills. She very told me that my membership wasn't cancelled and that I misunderstood. She said that a manager needed to email me to cancel (which was not in the initial conversation we had, although she denies this) Upon telling her that I received no such email, she said that they instead tried to call me and her manager left a voicemail. No voicemail was left and they then proceeded to never cancel my membership. I then asked for a manager to call me back asap Monday morning. Adele then said that the manager was very busy and they will try to call me back whenever they can and that they had important things to do. A membership that should have costed me $120 for 3 months has now cost me about $450 Communication skills of staff need to be worked on, as does the clarity of cancelling memberships. It is clear that the company do whatever possible to find ways to keep you membership going by purposely decieving customers. Shame on you Goodlife Royal Park

Positive experience: I've recently returned to GoodLife Royal Park after hip surgery. I had to stop going because I could not walk to the pool. Yesterday I went in to check my phone worked with their new system, it didn't and Nico who was helping me said he can organise a disc. Positive experience: I along with many others have attended the pool for many years now every morning. We have been attending at 5:30 am each morning later on the weekend now the time has been changed to 6 o’clock so we lose half an hour which is okay for some but for those who work it is cut the time that they can now come to the pool either shortening that or they’re unable to come at all during the week. On the weekends we could swim on a Saturday before the children’s classes now that has become virtually impossible there’s one lane which is open for swimmers and whilst one or two people can swim the noise from the classes is not the best for swimming conditions but people put up with it if you were 10 in the pool and get in there you’re allowed 15 minutes to get into the pool to swim and then I made to get out and sit on the side of the pool like a naughty child also prepare the pool for the children same with arriving’s classes if you get in then you pulled out and you can then get into the one lane. The times of the weekend have been shortened significantly which means realistically the time that you have free time swimming just gets less and less each month it appears as time goes by we’ve all been extremely loyal during the pandemic and also afterwards when they were fixing the pool. Many of us calling into the pool to find out when it would be opening and it did take months keeping in mind that the year before we had also had time off while they were fixing the pool. Many of us were not informed when the pool reopened and relying upon others passing along the information. By the time I reopened we were all fed up of calling in on a weekly basis to find out when it was going to be open when it did reopen the hours of just become more and more restrictive. I have now been to the pool on my way to work and have actually stayed home one extra day from my work in the River land so I could get a swimming only to discover that the water Aerobie class was at an earlier slot and so I was unable to get a swim. All week we’ve been having a discussion over what time the pool would be open todayA public holiday I asked the girls on the desk what was the deal with Pool this weekend they said it will be open at eight there was no mention of a water arobic Class. Many of us have been very loyal swimmers also attending the pool several of them for over 10 years each day and it appears that we keep getting pushed backwards all the time so that our time is become so restrictive that it’s almost come to the point where perhaps we need to seek to go elsewhere. It’s very very disappointing and very unprofessional if they going to have a wardrobe class the staff should have been informed and should’ve told us all instead of us turning up for a swim in the morning when realistically it’s impossible to swim. As my knee injury was caused by wateraerobic class and I’m informed by my physiotherapist that many of the people who come to see them have the same issues too many people in the pool in one class basically jumping all over one another and twisting in the wrong manner. I know this complaint will not be addressed and I also know that the other people that are swimming with on a daily basis frankly feel that we are at the bottom of the rank when it comes to customer service very disappointing if you’re swimming I suggest you try another pool

Positive experience: I only use the pool for excercise. Usually not crowded when I go. Comfortable temperature. Change room and showers could do with more frequent cleaning due to the amount of people using them.

Positive experience: The functional area is great plenty of space Main gym floor could do with an extra cable machine. Disappointing that there is only one non spin 6am group fitness class option during the week. The bathrooms are terrible - no iron, no hair straightener and very limited space to get changed and ready for the day. Staff are ok - some very friendly and welcoming others need lesson in customer service.

Fantastic experience: Friendly inclusive gym with clean ammenities, trainers are down to earth and knowledgeable. Great array of group classes to choose from so there is always something different to do. So many lovely regulars that have been coming for 10+ years, I think that speaks for itself.

Fantastic experience: I love this Gym and the reception you get here is friendly not like other gyms. There not snobby you feel relaxed no matter what size you are where other gyms make you feel your in a beauty quest and you feel snobbed off. Not this one though.

Fantastic experience: Have been a member here for over 3 years. A great community feel combined with excellent staff and helpful, professional instructors make it a good place to train. Classes are great and having a pool is a wonderful added bonus for this gym.

Fantastic experience: Excellent group fitness timetable with some not as common classes available such as Body Combat and Les Mills Grit (as well as body attack, body pump, core, balance, rpm etc). Staff are very friendly and accommodating and the group fitness instructors are motivating and fun.

Fantastic experience: This Goodlife gym has friendly happy trainers.The gym itself has large mezzanine space for fitness classes.It also has a large room for spin classes.There is also a heated pool area for swimmer's. Overall enjoy going to this gym.

Fantastic experience: My first impression were, well organized and very acceptive. The equipment is of outstanding quality and well maintained. Using the gym for a while now the overall "vibe" exceeded my first impression by miles. Good atmosphere and very welcoming. Give this gym a visit before you signup some where else.

Positive experience: Great and clean gym. A bit of everything, only downside is the smaller gym space.

Negative experience: Such a dodgy company. Forces people to extend their contracts due to covid When trying to talk to the manager Jennifer about this she was very rude.

Negative experience: Recommended to go here for pool swimming. But pool closed, also wanted Physiologist but promised staff not available, would not refund fees. Complaints ignored.

Negative experience: Was told I could stop commencement of plan if I let them know I did not want to proceed. I informed a staff member that I did not want to continue with contract before due date. However they started charging me. On meeting with a manager he did not listen and just kept saying over and over "you signed a contract". It took a very terse email with legal terms such as "fraudulent" behaviour before they stopped harrassing me for payment (I had to cancel my credit card to stop payments)

Fantastic experience: I just started aqua classes again after more then 3 years. Yesterday and today the instructor was Vicky and the classes were absolutely perfect. She is one of the best, if not THE best instructor that I ever had. She is friendly, she does explain proper techniques clearly by demonstrating exercises and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. All in all my opinion is that Vicky is an asset for the Goodlife and I will be coming to her classes at every opportunity.
