Negative experience: Most pathetic gym memberships of all time. Paid for ages and never went. Gave me a hars time in cancelling the gym membership. No one gets in touch or calls back, no log in details provided to cancel, and then eventually sent off to Arma for collection. Disgusting. And now they have their unfortunate, desperate attempt to save their image by putting forth a very disconcerting comment with zero accountability. Shows why you should absolutely NOT CHOOSE this crappy gym. For those reading, go through all 1 star reviews about how they are irrevocably misleading, unethical team of people who will do everything in their power to now allow you to cancel you gym membership and make it very difficult.

It’s unfortunate you feel it’s valid to put a 1star review as this is completely all on yourself. We at Plus Fitness pride ourselves on our most flexible membership. You over the course of this year have had several emails and correspondence in regards to your membership arrears and chose to ignore it? Also in regards to you not using the centre, again this is on you. As we are a NO LOCK IN membership with access to FREE time hold I find it very difficult to sympathise. It’s unfortunate that to your total lack of acceptance to your ignorance you put it back on us.. poor form.

Fantastic experience: I've been to heaps of gyms while traveling for work, but this Plus Fitness is hands down the cleanest and best maintained. You can tell the owners are passionate and care about their business. I’m there almost monthly and each time, every detail, from the floor, the equipment, to the toilets, everything is always spotless. It makes such a difference when a gym is loved and cared for by the people that run it. I wish every gym was like this.
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym, always spotless! Great space with all the equipment you could think of. Various TVs with sports and music to keep you entertained while you sweat it out. Owner is a top bloke too!

Fantastic experience: Gym looks fantastic. Although there have been set backs with the reopening ( out of the gyms control) i fully understand how stressful it would be being a business owner and not being able to open for their members. Management were more than happy to assist me with my membership inquiry. The team went above and beyond and i can't thank them enough. Can't wait for the gym to be reopened.
Negative experience: Moved to Wollongong recently and considered joining due to location but will not be a member ever after hearing about the horror stories from past and current members. Both personally and through community pages. They are also still not open (since November I believe and keep pushing dates back - Might want to change your Google hours, very misleading) and are still signing new people up and charging them without them even being able to use the gym. They also told a friend when they questioned why they weren't contacted about any changes of location/closures etc, 'We can't contact everyone, it's not up to us, we post on our social Media.' There should literally be a database of members email and phone numbers, it's a business's responsibility - Not everyone follows social media. Take the time to read all of the reviews, and ask around in community pages for other gym recommendations because these guys screw everyone they can for an extra buck and are rude about it aswell.

Negative experience: This gym has totally ruined my fitness journey! They lied to all members that they would be reopened in 2 weeks back in November, they are currently still closed (February) and still have no opening date 3 months of lies , taking money , and empty promises. Every week on Facebook they tease an opening day next week then never pull through I feel stringed along and robbed , they delete Facebook comments and block accounts exposing there ways ….. please use with complete caution , we all deserve better , mind you they won’t even let anyone cancel nor can you cause there closed and your contract says you need to go in person … disgusting.
Negative experience: I have just recently cancelled my gym membership due to indefinite delays. Things would have just been normal if I didn't go and check my membership agreement. And apparently one of the clauses with closure is ONLY applied to less than 30 days of closure. Meanwhile members are being charged, yes I understand you can put it on timehold but it's NOT in the agreement for a closure of over 30 days. IT'S 3 MONTHS WITH NO COMPENSATION OR ANYTHING. When I asked about it they just kinda dodged it lol. And cancelled my membership WITHOUT me completing a cancellation form. Dear members please check your agreement.
Negative experience: 3 months and still not open. We understand that no one wants this but have the courtesy to not charging the customer, put the fee on hold unti they open, or at least let customer cancel their membership without additional charge. For the rest of the member still getting charged or being told you have to pay extra 2 weeks if you closing your membership, fight for it. Even in their agreement says they can charge you up to 30 days of closure.
Negative experience: Qudos to the author of such articulate positive reviews, pity they are fake. Plus Fitness Wollongong continues to refer to circumstances out of their control prolonging their reopening but what is well within their control is taking money from clients without providing a service AND accessing clients’ personal contact details to aggressively dispute negative reviews. This behaviour is unethical and does not make for good publicity and a prospering business. Word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool so don’t expect people to flood through the doors if you ever do reopen.
Fantastic experience: I have visited Plus Fitness in Wollongong on many occasions, this Gym is always well maintained and has loads of equipment. Such a pleasant environment to train. Be aware of the fake reviews on this gym as haters are going to hate, best to check it out for yourself. These people probably have never attended this gym or any gym.

Fantastic experience: Although still closed this is due to no fault of the owners who were sadly very upset when I visited the gym today. They were super kind people who took the time to fully explain why the gym wasn’t open and what they were doing to rectify that. The facilities looked awesome, Cannot wait to use the gym once it has reopened :)!! In the meantime can continue using my fob at other plus fitness gyms that are still within the area (10 minutes away!!!). Keep going guys! Can’t wait to see you open and thriving.
Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing!!!! Great equipment, great management and great vibe! The new gym looks great. The management has been very forward and helpful, keeping us up to date with the move and renovation. Yes it’s taken longer than expected however management have offered the use of other local gyms if they want to continue to pay membership or they can put a hold on their memberships until the new gym is open. They have been nothing but accomodating. Excited to see the new gym open up. The space looks AMAZING!!!!!

Fantastic experience: It has been nothing but a pleasure dealing with plus fitness Wollongong. I have always found the staff to be warm, welcoming and approachable. The staff have been transparent with the relocation and informing us that the unexpected delay with opening has been completely out of their control, if most of the ‘unhappy’ members would take the time to speak with them directly they would understand perhaps from the business side of things just what’s involved and what has caused these delays perhaps they would be more understanding. They allow members to pop into the new space and check out the new facilities and equipment and see the overall progress at any time the space is staffed. The new space looks amazing and I’m more than ever excited to resume my fitness journey at the new space!

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed in this gym!! Notified via email in November 2023 of a 2 week closure due to relocation & 3 months later still not open with no communication to members. They made it difficult for me to place a hold on my membership & then only offered a 2 week pause. After requesting another pause after again not reopening I had to fill in another form. I was done after that but still had to go in to cancel my membership only to be told they would still draw more payments due to their T&Cs. How can they still take money when you’re unable to use the facilities you’ve paid for? Will never again rejoin this gym & you would be crazy to even contemplate joining!

Negative experience: Heard multiple terrible stories about how this business have treated their members while they’ve been closed. Absolutely horrible and not transparent information at all. Members being made to feel stupid and from what I’ve heard, being called and abused for leaving a bad review for the service they received. It’s hard to believe some of these recent 5 star reviews when the gym is still yet to be opened after 3 months. As someone who was considering joining up, after what I’ve heard I would stay completely clear.

Negative experience: Visited Wollongong with my fitness passport. Walked in to train and the owner said i need to purchase a tag for $29 or $39 to train. Clearly he doesn't know anything about a fitness passport. If we had to pay for a tag everywhere we ever trained around the world there would be no point to a fitness passport. You only purchase a tag if you would like to train after hours otherwise you just sign in. Then said i can buy a one off pass for $20. If you don't know how a fitness passport operates then you should not be signed up it.

Fantastic experience: All the equipment is amazing to use because it's evenly spread out for intense workouts. The boxing bag room is a favorite for me as I'm an introvert. Would recommend that room for people with high functioning anxiety.

Negative experience: Worn out padding on equipment. Not enough amenities on site. No scales. Dirty unmaintained equipment. Poor air circulation in building especially when hot. Entry door no indication of how to open it! Expensive vending machine product prices compared to other Plusfitness gyms. Far too many clients not using towels and using machines to sit and socialize rather than exercise.
Negative experience: Disgusting customer service, I asked for my payments to be stopped and membership cancelled, 14 days prior to next payment as the terms say. I have the had 2 more payments taken out. The owner does not reply to my emails. Would not go anywhere near this gym. The equipment is also outdated and tired. Very very unhappy!
Negative experience: Went Sunday morning, 24 May 2015. We had a few hours before a black belt grading in Wollongong, Men's toilet was blocked with someone's number 2!!!! Yuck! Water was switched off, and toilet was faulty. First piece of equipment I tried to use was the elipse trainer. The right pedal was broken, making it unsafe. The equipment feels tired, making the experience unpleasant. As a chain that offers national access, this is a low light. Come on guys, fix these things up. The smell from the toilet was most unpleasant. M.
