Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Windy Hill Fitness Centre enough! The staff are always so helpful, friendly and efficient. They always make my day :). Thank you Petria, Vanessa, Chris and everyone there. It’s very rare these days to receive such lovely consistently great service. The staff always have a smile on their face and are only too happy to answer any queries about the gym and generally care about their members. I love all the classes on offer and I find that this gym in particular accommodates for all walks of life. I also really love that it supports the community in such a great way. The gym is always clean & the equipment is great including the pool & sauna ☺️

Fantastic experience: I use the pool here and have had a good time of it. It is clean and warm. Some may say too warm, but I am ok with that on a cold winter day. The water is clean and the change rooms modern. The pool is fully tiled; they don’t build them like this. I was able to find plenty of 1P and 2P parking nearby. I walked away feeling very positive about my experience. I got a very good deal with 20 swims and 5 free swims for around $150.

Fantastic experience: We've tried a few different swim centres for our 6-year-old, and the quality of the Windy Hill program has been by far the best. They offer effective, motivating technique-based learning. Our child has improved considerably in the first 4 weeks. Thanks Ashton and team.

Negative experience: So frustrated with the swimming service here, the system they use constantly locks out due to a problem with their recaptcha solution and we are unable to manage the rebooking process as we can't get past the login screen most times. Recently a hole bunch of our lessons that were meant to be rebooked were cancelled off the system whilst they were still within the 3 months rebooking timeframe which didn't help given we couldn't log in. Initially the new classes were not showing up at all, then the system started blocking acces, and finally the bookings were wipe out completely. Have raised a case and followed up so many times, but they never email back and have done nothing to reinstate the lessons. At the front desk they also charge fees on payment in the office but at the same time do not offer a payment method that is without fees which I know is in breach of the payments legislation.

Positive experience: EDIT: While this is still my regular gym, there has been a noticeable drop in customer service over the past 12 months. When I first joined I was always greeted by desk staff upon entry and farewelled upon exit. Now, I often enter and exit, lock eyes with most of the staff behind the counter and have them say nothing to me or even respond with a smile. I love this gym, but a small dose of friendliness and warmth would go a long way. My favourite local gym. Friendly staff, decent gym facilities and the steam room is usually a good, hot temperature.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for almost 12 months now and it's been one of my favourite fitness centres and I'll be sad when I move away! The staff have always been really friendly and helpful. The gym equipment is great and they have almost everything I need here. The classes and swimming pool are great but I wasn't able to utilise these as much as I would have liked. I've recommended this to many people in the area over the past year

Fantastic experience: Windy Hill is a great fitness centre. The pool is always clean, not overly chlorinated. The staff are all very accommodating, friendly and welcoming, and that creates a relaxed atmosphere. One of the gym staff is particularly knowledgeable regarding weight training. Gym is well equipped for cardio and general strength & conditioning. Reasonable range of equipment. Has outdoor area & another area for circuit training. Desperately need another leg extension machine. The outlook onto Windy Hill football oval provides plenty of sunlight & provides a good atmosphere as there are often sporting activities going on. Great membership price. If you got in on the buy 6 months, get 6 months free. Overall, it is a great facility if you are serious about getting in shape or just doing some light exercise.

Negative experience: Hi to most of the lovely staff at windy hill fitness centre . I had the worst experience ever today . Not to mention the ohs catastrophe that I stopped the other day . Which was an oh&s issue . Christine which I believe is centre manager who is aware that I’m homeless and disabled , went out of her way to have me banned for a year . What a terrible lady I mean If I was Matthew Lloyd a school buddy of mine at St Bernard’s I’m sure I would have had the red carpet rolled out instead . I was treated unfairly and unjust . I was not listened to when I was telling the truth . So to get my point across I had to be vocal to say the least . I was going to get an advocate for both the homeless and disabled to represent me . Due to the fact that Christine treated me in such an inhumane manner . No thanks to staff at windy hill . On Saturday the 16/03/24 . I slipped in these mats out the front had to catch a taxi by myself to Royal Melbourne Ed. Which they all heard me screaming in agony outside . Guess what they can’t even follow simple oh&s procedures . They left me there screaming in pain , so if this is the kind of sweet disposition they think they’ve given a client . That’s right I was the one showing the sweet disposition . They showed there colours though black and red how disgraceful , they left me by myself without even a simple “SORRY ARE YOU OK” well done to Christine for running the worst fitness centre In Melbourne . And telll the CEO . As you said he’d called me which was a lie Christine . Don’t bother someone will be calling him or someone there about , windy hill fitness’s unsafe work practises and my pain and suffering . Hope everyone else doesn’t endure what I did . There’s so many better centres by a far . So if you want the worst. Service in Melbourne with a fake please do your self a favour and join Windy Hill fitness Centre

Positive experience: About to be upgraded. It suffered badly during the extended lock down but has now resolved problems with facilities and is starting to upgrade and modernise the gym. Staff are performing well and very supportive.

Positive experience: I have been very disappointed with Windy Hill Essendon on many levels. From; - Unhygienic toilet and water fountains, - to lack of knowledge and authority of customer service staff at the counter, - to my main disappointment - their swim school. I have raised all my concerns with Windy Hill management to no avail ever. There is no care or acknowledgement but rather -defiance. My most recent experience is with their BlueFit swim school. My 2 children have been going to Windy School for several years (at least 5-6 years). Before BlueFit took over, their organisation and the instructors was not great. Since BlueFit took over, these things seemed to be better, but over the long term- it was not. My youngest son has been on the same level for about 2 years. I tried to engage with instructors about this, but there wasn't much feed back until the very end when the coordinator said that it may have been because he missed the assessments they do every 5-6 weeks. I expressed my disappointment in this ( I acknowledge I should have attentioned this much sooner) as they should be on top of this and have some sort of process in place were kids who are not progressing are flagged. She suggested trying other instructors that may help him progress better, but I decided to cancel. I considered 1 on 1 lessons, but they don't offer it. My friend offered to assess his skills and improve his techniques before her swims at their facility (she is a swimmer). During this session, we were pulled up by the guards that it is against company policy to teach our kids how to swim in their facility even if you are family or friend. They said only BlueFit is allowed to teach kids to swim- it is company policy (perhaps even govt law/regulation?). Their swim school failed my son and as they don't offer 1 on 1 lessons, we resorted teaching him ourselves, which didn't work, so we then tried my friend. There was no money exchange with my friend, she was just going to help us every now and then before her own swims at the facility. The only reason I really gave Windy Hill a go ( and why I am still a gym member) is purely out of convenience, otherwise I would not continue to engage with them at all. I am so disappointed with them and would be very transparent about my experiences with them to anyone who would consider using them. Oh and the 3 stars I have given is purely for the gym classes, equipment and gym instructors running some of the gym classes there- they have always been great.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Windy Hill Fitness Centre for more than 10 years. If asked by a friend I would recommend that they join WHFC. The equipment has recently been updated, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, the change room/toilets are clean and there is 24/7 access.

Negative experience: I have been a member of Windy Hill gym for 5 months. The equipment is great and the atmosphere is good. However, I have had multiple issues when signing up for a membership and using the 24 hour services. I have found that the communication between staff is bad due to different managers telling me different policies. At the start of my membership, the manager said that I was able to use the fob to access the 24 hour gym, however, today i was told by a worker and another manager that i was not able to use the 24 hour services because i am under the age of 18. This was a shock to me as my friends and I have been using the gym outside stuff hours many times and have not been told that this was not allowed. The fob was then taken off me which felt very disrespectful. If I was told this at the start of my membership, I would have considered another gym. I am very disappointed and upset with the action of the staff.

Positive experience: After a long forced hiatus I returned to Windy Hill to do the Aqua class and was pleasantly suprised! Its Exceptionally helpful happy staff who added a good vibe. A new fresh enviroment and modern amenities in the change room The Aqua Aerobics instructor was joyous all the way through the class and gave us a great workout with a great mix of modern music, including plenty of Bollywood moves. Great for the soul!

Negative experience: Avoid Blue Fit Swim School, inflexible, money snatching thieves. Loyal client for over 2 years will now be finding a better swim school for my kids.

Positive experience: All the staff here are amazing, except a caucasian blonde female in a pony tail in her 20s/ 30s ish. When I tried to return my locker key this morning (19/4), she was talking on the phone in reception. I put my key on the counter and told her I was returning the key, but she just ignored me and left me waiting there. Previously in this situation other receptionists just took the key and returned my card while staying on the phone. At that time I was in a hurry to catch a bus, so after waiting there for 2 minutes, I asked if I could return the key behind the counter. She still ignored me then called another staff telling her to come to reception because someone coming behind the counter! It’s very absurd that she can’t do a simple task for just returning the key, and let customers wait for minutes then calling another staff to do it!

Negative experience: While the entrance and pool facilities are wheelchair accessible half the gym floor is elevated up one step with no ramps. Such an easy fix to make this gym accessible to more people and no effort has been made.

Negative experience: had a bad experience with the staff at the reception (Vanessa). Not professional and rude They need a better training on how to deal with and treat customers. I’m really disappointed

Fantastic experience: Love this place, Matt and Chris are absolute legends. Overall just a good gym. One thing tho the barcode scanner to get in isn’t to good and only works sometimes. One time it didn’t work for my mate so I scanned in for him because he’s a regular and everyone there knows him and this older lady went off at me. Which got me by surprise not gonna lie. But yeah apart from the scanning thing issue over all an amazing gym.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Bluefit, Windy Hill have been fantastic. Curteous, friendly, and engaged. Super impressed to see Luke in action recently. As the first to observe an incident Luke responded promptly and comprehensively. The team followed Luke's lead with calm competence and care. Many may not have noticed the impressive response on a busy swim morning.

Fantastic experience: Very busy in the evenings when swim lessons are on, but very quiet outside of lesson times. Nice and warm in the winter. The time to swim with young kids is outside of swim lesson times, use their website lane availability to see when this is. Swim school is great with the kids.

Positive experience: Great place, great atmosphere and nice friendly staff. The centre also has enough equipment with little waiting time. The pool is also very handy.

Negative experience: The gym is a bit outdated compared to the more modern gyms. Pretty no-frills to be honest, has all the basic gym equipments, barbell, and machines. Could definitely use a renovation update, as half the gym is still using carpets. Seriously, what kind of gym still uses carpet these days? Can't fathom the amount of bacteria it attracts. Secondly, the white storage cabinet area could be thoroughly cleaned. It always looks so dirty, especially with COVID around, you'd think they would amp up the cleanliness. Lastly, the gym has recently switched to 24 hours, however when you go during off-staff hours, the gym is quite hot on a 20+ degree day. It seems like they reduce the amount of air conditioning to minimal, and i'm sweating just doing barbell curls. I'm not even doing CARDIO. Definitely annoying. They really need to fix this, and/or adjust the humidity levels in the gym, because it's a huge turnoff. If you're advertising this as a 24 hour gym, keep the temperature levels the same for your gym go-ers! Other gyms can atleast adhere to this better. FIX IT.

Positive experience: It’s a great centre, nothing fancy but everything you need.. It’s a shame they’ve closed the crèche, as that would be super convenient for parents in the area.I have joined another gym as they allow you to take your baby with you.. Windy Hill could easily do this, as well as Aqua classes for Mums & Bubs {Particularly in the quiet early afternoon} Pool seems to irritate me… I’m always itchy after swimming (never happened to me before) Shower floors could be cleaned more often (there’s often a surplus of staff; I’d personally have them doing 30 mins cleans) The “Old Rec” would be an EPIC spot to get some Reformer Pilates beds Overall, staff are central to this centre and super lovely!

Negative experience: Staff nowhere to be seen when help is required, cannot offer the flexible personal training I’m after. Staff(a particular male) at the front desk have a don’t care attitude as well. Forgot to add - No induction was given on joining, although they called up after weeks to see if I needed any help.
