Fantastic experience: Como Fitness is a fantastic gym. The exercise physiologists are brilliant. They provide excellent advice and tailor my program to my requirements whilst ensuring I am challenged, and that I see/feel/notice improvements in my health. Would not hesitate to recommend the gym and the exercise physiology service.
Negative experience: Worst gym I've ever been to.
Negative experience: Staff told me their was no cancellation fee and than they tried to charge me for it not a great start for them trying to charge a customer money hahaha their response we never charge they did try to charge me
We have never charged a cancellation fee. There is a 28 day cancellation period. You maybe confusing these two things.Our terms & conditions are very clear and conform to Consumers Protection regulations.I have looked up your account and noticed that you have recently cancelled membership, however you do have outstanding fees to pay.My experience with these matters is customers often post a 1 star review in an attempt to avoid paying their outstanding fees.Surely this isn’t the case with you Emily! Please pay your outstanding fees and we can all go about our lives peacefully. Thanks
Fantastic experience: Great gym and friendly team. Also, it's good for rehab.
Negative experience: Definitely the worst gym I have ever attended. The owner speaks to staff in an abusive manner and does not care if there are members in the vicinity which was my first alarm bell when joining. The equipment is not very good either. I would give 0 stars if I could.
Positive experience: Would be a 5/5 if they brought in a stairmaster for the refit and kept the fly machine (pleaseeee can we get a stairmaster)

Negative experience: I never give bad ratings to anyone but this time yes i have to. One of the worst gym i have even been to, it stinks, it is expensive for no reason, the staff is rude and only time they ever talked to me was when i decided to cancel my membership. The only way they are making money is from the older people of South Perth coz it is easy to fool them. You guys gave me a good reason of not joining any local gym ever.
Fantastic experience: Been going there for a year now. Good gym. Quiet and friendly atmosphere. Recommended if you are in the area.

Fantastic experience: I find this gym a really great place to work out and keep fit. The staff and fitness instructors are so friendly, really knowledgeable and also very accommodating. This then flows on to all the gym goers, which makes it a really positive, comfortable and happy environment, which really helps in motivating me to go! I’ve been going for a number of years now and find it has all the equipment I need and more. Access is great and so too is parking. I’ve been to a few of the big chain type gyms before but this is way better because of the great staff and people.
Positive experience: The gym itself is fine! Decent equipment, 24-Hour access, clean and tidy, with a variety of classes. I would have given a 5 star review however my interactions when simply trying to cancel my membership were not great. To start with, I emailed asking for my membership to be cancelled, The response was that they would prefer I come in-store. After telling them this wasn't an option (Due to work commitments,) and would prefer to process the cancellation over email, I was outright told I could not, and referred to their terms and conditions (available on their website.) The terms and conditions however specifically stated that I *could* cancel via email. After "reminding" them of this, they went ahead and cancelled, and I incurred an additional $55 Administration fee, due to not being able to cancel in person. This was stated in the terms and conditions, to be fair, however I don't understand why it is a more expensive process to cancel over email, rather than coming in-person where someone would need to be on-duty, on-site to deal with me. I assume this is to give them an opportunity to change my mind, however this is speculation. At the end of the day, ComoFitness was a decent, quiet gym that suited my needs, and was convenient as I lived only a short walk away. As I said I would have given CF a higher rating, however the experience I had when trying to cancel could be improved upon.
Fantastic experience: I joined Como Fitness a few months ago. This gym has such a casual and fun vibe. I love attending the HIIT classes. Each class has a wide range of ages and they are so much fun. I really haven’t felt this comfortable at a gym before and the fortnightly rate is really affordable. I highly recommended this gym

Negative experience: This is a small gym with a nice range of equipment perfect for beginners. I have been a member on 2 separate occasions 1 of which was a vastly different experience to the other. I have no issues with the facility itself, all of my issues stem from the company used to collect the fortnightly payments (Debit Success). My issues started from the first payment they debited from my account, a payment of roughly $60 which seemed strange considering I was told I would be paying roughly $16/ week. As you can imagine I was quite shocked, I proceeded to call Como Fitness to get an understanding of why I was being charged so much, this is where I found out that debit success charge a $12 fee for your first payment. I was still confused as to how that math added up, I still am not sure! The lady I spoke to was very kind, she told me that there had been a slight price increase to roughly $17 after i signed up but it was ok because I was still listed as paying the original price of $16/wk, however debit success are charging me a fortnightly $34.56 which means my weekly subscription is in fact the new price of $17.28. It honestly doesn’t make that much of a difference to me I was just surprised that the price could change without my knowledge. After this debacle I had some things come up so had to relocate again. Don’t even bother trying to cancel a membership remotely unless you want to fork out another $50 on top of the next 28 days that you will still have to pay for before your membership is cancelled. Overall my experience with this gym and debit success has been confusing to say the least and I probably wouldn’t go back while they are still using debit success as a payment collector.

When you signed up to they would have sent you an email explaining all the fees and charges. However it has been our experience that some bank accounts do not allow direct debits (iNG, CBA just to name 2)which can cause issues for both members signing up and us!. Not sure if this was your situation however it’s made for some issues to resolve. May I suggest your review would be better done for Debit Success rather than Como Fitness. Thanks
Negative experience: Another Debit Success horror story. I wasn't super impressed with the space when I joined up but thought I was supporting an independent business who would treat customers better. Honestly, the gym is pretty small and not in very nice condition so I struggled to get motivated to want to go there. When you invariably attempt to end your membership, they set Debit Success on you. They're just incompetent business people and bullies who would rather nickel and dime than just provide a decent service. Stay away. Oh one pro. It's often dead quiet. Except in peak time, it's hard to get access to anything because there isn't much equipment. Maybe okay if you just want free weights, but then.. just buy your own? Response to owners reply: "Hi Ben King. Thanks for your review. It would appear by your review that you are not telling the the truth! Your account was overdue by $100, overdue again by $120, you wanted to cancel and didn’t want to have the standard 28 cancellation period applied then threatened legal action. It would be highly recommended that you contact consumer protection for further advice on this matter. You’ll find them very helpful. And we do everything as required by them. Regarding the gym space, you’ve overcooked it here too. Best wishes for the future." That is factually incorrect. I was and am perfectly happy to pay out the 28 days and fee as has been said to Department of Commerce representative and forwarded to yourself. My issue was with sending an email to exit the contract via your online form and being told that wasn't acceptable several months later. As the public can see, the owner is happy to attempt to bully anyone - even publically - if they sniff extra money. Good luck to prospective members! To wit, I am not Ben King. Maybe they think I am a different disgruntled customer. Hopefully final update: This has largely been handled by Department of Commerce now. Since then, they've asked for this review to be deleted. Make of their request what you want, but personally, it makes me wonder how many other 1-star reviews are gone. "Mr Jennings posted a 1 star google review while we were dealing with him. I believe this was unfair and unreasonable as Como Fitness processed his cancellation as per our Terms & Conditions. As part of the resolution of this matter Como Fitness is seeking that Mr Jennings immediately remove his (1 star) google review." Yes, they processed it. After months of sending debt collectors on a non-existant debt (Note: this wasn't the cancellation period as the owner is alleging, but rather a substantial amount for months of fees by claiming it wasn't cancelled) and my having to resort to involving Department of Commerce. I'm still waiting for confirmation on what I owe them exactly for the notice period and have another letter from a debt collection group, but no correspondence with them.

I’m bay to upload your payment schedule to prove this.The you cancelled your bank account during the 28 day cancellation period!Clearly you wanted a gym membership but didn’t want to pay for it!And trying you complained to consumer protection, who found that Como Fitness didn’t have a case to answer.Regarding the gym space, you’ve overcooked it here too.I think you struggle with the truth.Anyway, life goes on!
Fantastic experience: Honestly I thought it was a pretty average gym at first, but came to love the quiet atmosphere and the friendly staff, also the introduction of new equipment now and then is a blessing Great gym overall

Negative experience: STAY AWAY. This gym will rip you off however they can, including signing you up to dodgy contracts without consent. Damien is an arrogant, disrespectful and hostile manager. Take your business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: The Staff are excellent, they really take an interest in helping you reach your fitness goals. The equipment is always clean and in excellent condition and those little extra touches like being able to select your fav workout music or catch up on current affairs while on the treadmill make the gym even more user friendly. H..I.T. Classes are definitely worth getting out of bed for and their membership fees are super competitive. All in all a great place to get in shape or extend your training.

Fantastic experience: My favourite gym even though I live north of the river have been going here for years. Small gym with no posers and down to earth people. Plus run by exercise physiologists which is great.

Fantastic experience: Been my local gym for the last 3 years. I have 2 closer national chain gyms but they are full of posers. I prefer to support the local small family business. The staff are good and the members are easy going. Great place to stay healthy without the razzmatazz of the nationals. They give special attention if you wear a beanie;-)

Negative experience: equipment towels have mold on them, and the equipment is generally dirty. Its small, and you often have to queue for equipment. Basically the gym is expensive for what you get, and the staff are rude and unhelpful. The clientele is usually older too so its a pretty boring place too.
Dear Fred, I think you have us confused with another gym simply because I do ALL the cleaning and there is no way that any of the towels that we supply have mould growing on them and I am curious as to how vinyl on equipment ever grows mould in Perth. Brisbane yes , Perth unlikely. One other oddity is that we have never had a 'Fred Durst' as a member in all the 12 years that Damian and I have owned the gym. Strange huh? However Fred, we are happy to offer you a trial period to attend the gym and change your mind. Like I said I think you have Como Fitness mixed up with another facility.Cheers Maureen
