Negative experience: Very bad experience at this gym ! I've been to several, but this one is by far the worst ! We came in using the $4 per week offer. We clearly stated that we would stay for one month only, meaning we should have paid just $16 in total. At the front desk, we were told “Yes, that’s fine.” We paid for our access badges and asked when they would be refunded. They told us we would get the refund when we left, so everything seemed good. We signed the contract, but were shocked to later find out that there was a 30-day notice period and that the badges were non-refundable. This is unacceptable. Yes, we signed the contract, but only because the front desk staff were supposed to explain its terms. not LIE by telling us we’d be refunded upon returning the badges and that we wouldn’t be charged more after our intended month. This is outrageous and completely unprofessional. That’s why this one star review is fully deserved. this place only cares about making money, your wallet is all that matters to them. On top of that, the gym is ridiculously small and barely has any equipment. Do not trust what the staff at the front desk tell you. They’ll say everything is okay when it’s really not. There are much better gyms out there. don’t waste your time on this one!

Thank you for your review.
I understand that you are a French tourist/visitor and possibly there has been some interpretation issues in your discussions with our Club Manager.
1. You joined the club on 8th April 2025 - I understand you were not 100% sure you wanted to join. You proceeded to join and sign all of the memberships agreements once it was all explained.
2. You left the club and came back within 30 minutes and you were still unsure about joining. We explained to you (or attempted to) that if you come back within 7 days of joining you will get a full refund as it is a cooling off period required by law. From our perspective we thought you understood and you never came back to the club and requested cancellation refund in the 7 day cooling off period.
3. You have visited the club 11 times in the last 22 days and used the facility and never raised any issues with the club manager.
4. You came to the club today, requesting a full refund of the $79.95 Access Card Fee and the $16 fee you paid for ($4 for 4 weeks).
5. We attempted to explain to you that we cannot refund any monies as the cooling off period is completed.
6. You signed a membership agreement, which clearly states the Access Card is non-refundable and you are subject to a 30 day cancellation period. Its critical to note, that you used the club and our equipment 11 times in 22 days. To expect a 100% refund is totally unreasonable, given the use of our resources over the period you were a member.

You were happy to use the club and its many benefits for the 22 days with no complaints until you demanded a 100% refund as you believe we committed that to you.

It doesn't make any sense that we would allow you to use the club free of charge for 22 days!

I am sorry you feel the way you do, but my team and I have not misled you and advised you of your rights by Australian law i.e. 7 Day cooling off period which it would seem you have taken as you would get free use of the club while you visited in Perth.

We are a small format club with the a leading commercial gym equipment from Matrix - I dispute your emotional comment regarding the club and equipment - you were happy to use it on 11 occasions until you realized it was not free of charge.

Fantastic experience: Very well located gym with nice clean equipment. I love that is 24/7 hrs opened as it gives me flexible times to always pop in a combine with my job and kids duties. They have added new machines recently which makes my workout more interesting.

Negative experience: The no lock contract is really deceptive. You still have to provide a 30 day notice period which comes up to another $75 after you cancel. They also charged my card multiple times, said it failed even when I had sufficient funds then charged me $5 every time it 'failed'. Don't rely on the staff to ever be there even during advertised staffing hours. Classic money grabbing and making it as difficult as possible to cancel. Poor students beware, I've moved to my uni gym that's a bit more spenno but better quality gym and staff.

Hi Freya, Thank your for your feedback, though I don't believe it reflects the actual situation.

We are very clear when people join there is a 30 day cancellation period. This would have been explained when you enquired and were offered differing membership options. We also cover this off again as part of the induction in the club - which you completed and signed off on. It is also very clear in the terms and conditions that you signed when you joined.

Re the $5 dishonor/insufficient funds fee. Your payment was due on the 19/3/25. We attempted payment on the 19th and 20th which dishonored due to insufficient funds. We called, texted and emailed you on the 21st and 22nd of March to request payment which your responded and payment was made on the 22/3/25. Noting, several days after it was due and with us having to chase you. We have a 48 grace period for the dishonor fee which was given to you, but once we have to invest time to email, text and call you to resolve your payment that when we apply the fee.

Ultimately, if the payment was made when it was due on the 19/3/25 (which was clearly outlined in your cancellation confirmation email sent to you on the 1/3/2025), this all could have been avoided.

Negative experience: Absolutely crap gym with crap equipment and the terns and conditions are a joke! They said free sign up and nothing to pay for 2 months so we thought we would join to see how it was. We hated it and upon asking to cancel they charged us $275 when we have only been in the gym once! What a joke! No wonder these gyms are being sold for peanuts online it's because no one goes there anymore. Terrible

- You joined SNAP Fitness South Perth on the 18th of November on the "nothing more to pay until January 1" promotion.
- At the time you signed a membership agreement on 12 month contract club membership and you could cancel at anytime with 30 days notice and you would have to pay 25% of any outstanding membership fees relating to the 12 month term YOU committed to. You agreed to rate of $39.15 per fortnight a reduce rate due to your 12 month commitment.
- You received your free time as per the promotion/reduced fortnightly rate because you committed to a 12 month term and your first membership payment was taken on the 1st of January 2025
- You also toured the club, saw the equipment and completed a full safety induction - You had ample opportunity not to join given you could see all of the state of the art equipment and facilities the club had to offer.
- We have not received any written request for the cancellation of your membership in writing as of 11/1/25 and your membership remains active.
- To cancel your membership you need to email the club at [email protected] and we will advise your final figure to cancel your membership. As you opted for a 12 month contract, you will be required to pay 25% of the outstanding membership fees as well as provide a 30 day notice period.
- The club has been open and available for you to use since you joined so the fact that you have not attended is irrelevant. We cannot be responsible for your attendance record.

Our club has the latest in Matrix commercial gym equipment one of the most respected manufacturers globally and the equipment's age is between 1 - 3 years old. Your are entitled to your opinion, but I totally disagree that the equipment crap - it is state of the art modern equipment.

On average we have over 200+ people work out at the club each and every day. So to say nobody attends the club is just a false statement. We have a large and broach membership base that enjoys our facility and the community links. We survey our members regularly (each and every month) member satisfaction survey indicates the complete opposite to what your review reflects.

It is disappointing you feel this way. The main issue with the cost of your cancellation is the fact that you decided to sign up to a 12 month term. Other options would have been provided to you on sign up albeit at a higher fortnightly rate.

Negative experience: A LITTLE DODGY AND NOT TRANSPARENT. CHALLENGES NOT HONOURED IF YOU WIN A FEW MONTHS IN A ROW-since cancelled I’ve been a bit confused and would really appreciate some clarification regarding the monthly challenges. I was kindly advised by the owner to try another gym, but I wanted to mention that I reached out to Hollie (the manager) on two occasions about the challenges and didn’t receive much information beyond being told "someone else won." I was hoping for a bit more detail, especially since the board had only my score listed for the female category. As the winners receive a discount, I’m just trying to understand how the process works and why there aren’t any details shared, like the winning score or when a video was submitted. For example, there were no details on the board for November 30th, 2024, in the afternoon, so I’m unsure how to compare. I also asked Roy (a staff member) the week before if anyone had completed it, but they weren’t sure either. The owner mentioned that they didn’t wish to explain the scores, so I’m just looking for some clarity to better understand the process. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider my concerns.

As we have explained to you several times the monthly challenge is meant to be fun and engaging member activity. All prizes have been award to winners each and every month including yourself two months in a row this year. We don't not keep permanent records on the monthly results to provide you the information you are demanding.

Maybe you need to join a Crossfit gym whereby you can take part in full competitions with fully published results.

We are sorry you feel the way you do, but it is what it is and we will not be changing our challenges and the way we manage them off the back of your aggressive, direct and unnecessary continuous complaints and feedback. We have explained it to you on multiple occasion and you don't want to accept our feedback.

Again - the purpose of the monthly challenges is a fun, engaging and community event - not a full competition with winner takes all.

I would suggest that if you don't like the way the activities are being run to either not take part or look for an alternative club that can meet your competitive instincts.

Positive experience: For gods sake please put a ban on people using their mobile phones while tying up gym equipment. When they do one rep then spend 5mins on their phone before the next, is so frustrating with such a small gym and limited equipment. Sometimes it takes an hour to do a 30min workout because of this.

Thanks for the feedback. We would love to ban mobile phones in the club, but in application it is not practical if not impossible to implement. Most people would not want to give up there phones entering the club and it would cause issues and delays for members getting phones back - not to mention the risk of having peoples phones with all the personal data on them.

I would recommend that if somebody is on a machine and on the phone, respectfully make them aware you are waiting or if staff are in club ask them to engage with them.

I understand frustration, we encourage members to be polite and respectful of other members regularly (signage in club, emails etc).

Fantastic experience: When im in perth, I like using this south perth Snap. The plate loaded matrix iso lat pull and upright chest press are so good with targeting/hitting the specific muscle. The movement path of matrix machines, especially the lat pull is best i have tested. Most other snap gyms use technogym machines, which are still good. But i prefer the matrix machines.

Fantastic experience: Good for beginners, great value if you use the classes. (Edited Review) I came back and gave the gym 5 stars (initially gave 4) after trying a couple other snap fitnesses - the classes at this gym are significantly better, well thought out and amazing value for money. The gym culture here is also really great (compared to what I’ve seen at revo and golds as well). I started at this gym as a complete newbie and gained plenty of tips on my form from some veterans who were extremely helpful! They only have 1 smith machine that gets pretty busy, no assisted pull up machine, there are too many rowing machines that don’t get used and they don’t have a chest fly machine meaning if someone wants to do one they will use both of the only two cable machines. If you are new to the gym, value a supportive gym culture and love classes this is exceptional but if you prefer to keep your head down and value equipment above all else you won’t like it as much.

Positive experience: The staff and members are friendly. However, as someone who goes to the gym at around 6 in the morning, the toilets and showers are not cleaned and are so gross.

Please note they are professionally cleaned twice a week and our staff check them each morning @ 8.30AM and ensure they are clean and tidy. We are aware that one shower is being used as fake tanning cleaning area by a member and it is difficult to keep clean and we are unable to identify who that is as he/she is leaving a mess for other members.

Fantastic experience: Staffs are super friendly and they make me feel welcomed always, greeting me with a welcome smile and asking how I’m doing. The gym is super clean and I love how big the showers and bathrooms are. I love how they have so many group fitness options and they have separate areas so I don’t feel uncomfortable. I’ve always wanted to try pilates and love how they offer that in group fitness too! They are amazing with setting up fun challenges and community events that helps me motivate to come to the gym

Negative experience: I went in definitely wanting to sign up and walked out very glad I didn't. I've been gym hopping to see which gyms have the best facilities and as soon as I saw the threat on the front door about fining people $150 for "tailgating", I knew I was in for a ride... (What does that even mean? in the carpark? and can you even give out traffic infringements?) Basically from what I could gather, they charge an absolute premium for facilities which are effectively identical to Jetts which is significantly cheaper or basically the same price as goodlife which has significantly better facilities including one with a pool just down in Cannington. In summary, would have been nice to check it all out. But unfortunately I work out on my brain too.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback! At SNAP Fitness South Perth we pride ourselves on keeping our members safe and ensuring the car park is available for members when they need it.

Tailgating is where non-members follow members into the club when they shouldn't. We have several instances of this occurring and this causes theft and other bad behaviour by non members. The tailgating system is design to keep members safe. But I agree, the laminated sign is unnecessary and will be removed.

If you live in South Perth you will be aware that parking is always an issue, the signage is to ensure non-members are aware that the car park is a private one. Again, the signs are designed to ensure the maximum parking availability for members as best we can. The signs were put up due to requests from members.

I cannot find a Chris B or a Christopher B on our system or a tour which has been booked under this name to give you a call - I would welcome the opportunity to walk you through our club and answer any concerns you may have re the parking and or tailgating system.

Negative experience: + Newest in comparison to gyms in South Perth. - Pricing for services/facilities rendered uncompetitive in comparison to other gyms. Classes are limited (in variety and frequency) and hard to book in advance in comparison to other comparable gyms. Poor cancellation policy - Deposit you pay for your key card is non-refundable and 30 day notice required.

Re our Pricing, we will have to disagree on the pricing for the membership as we have an abundance of members who believe we provide great value. The pricing reflects the convenient location of Angleo St South Perth. The $69.95 Access Card Fee is a one off fee it is not a deposit and non-refundable and our cancellation policy is 30 days notice. Both of these are standard across the fitness industry.

Negative experience: My dear first I never was student and here we speak in your club you have people dont know what they sell because your maneger received the complain from Mount Lawley club and the general manager and she was so arrogant and she called me for say something wrong out from the contract and she made only the problem in my membership she deleted my membership when I say leave like this I go in the other snap fitness club and now I need fix again the problem she made and before comment please teach your stuff the rules about the contract and how dealing with that rules

Positive experience: Home gym is Freo but decided to give SP a try tonight. Disappointed to see gym etiquette isn't good here. Weights were not racked after use; they were left on equipments or laying on floor. Or if they were, they were mixed. 5s, 10s, etc on one rack. Also think the lock on toilet door is faulty? Has the basic equipments so I'm happy bout that.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Unfortunately, we cannot always control our members etiquette we do promote it on the club floor with our members. I will check the lock on the toilet door we have not had that feedback before but will ensure it is working either way.

Fantastic experience: The gym feels very boutique, almost like a gym you’d find in the hotel. Everything is brand new and squat racks are placed centrally so you don’t have to have your face right up against the wall if your not into that. Elly is also a very accomodating PT, highly reccomend.

Fantastic experience: So excited we finally have a gym in South Perth. The team are so amazing, with great energy and super friendly I love the atmosphere and they are continually challenging you to be your best ... and take a great interest in your personal goals. I'm loving the myzone and monthly goals. Best gym I have ever experienced.

Fantastic experience: Great little gym with brand new equipment, nice bathrooms & free parking. Has a real positive, uplifting vibe about it & the Manager is super friendly, helpful, professional and genuinely cares about her members.

Positive experience: Missing a few pieces of equipment that are at the other SNAP centres which was a bit disappointing. Like Mt Hawthorn, not the biggest gym, so equipment very cramped. All TVs bar one (which was on some fitness channel), we’re on the same nightlife channel. Come on guys. Put one on channel 7 or 9 with subtitles for some variety.

Thanks for your feedback. All equipment is in line with SNAP Fitness standards so not sure what equipment is missing that you refer to.

We always have two TV's on Free to air stations so not sure what the situation was when you attended, but will take a look into it.

Please message the club with what equipment you believe was missing and we can take a look at it, however it would be all subject to space.

Hi Jake, Thanks for the feedback - but we have no record of Jake Fenton ever calling or taking a tour of the club. Not sure how you get to that view without ever visiting it. Be more than happy to take you for a full tour at a time convenient to show the club in full and discuss all of the benefits.
