Fantastic experience: I train at Dohertys Perth and absolutely love this gym. The environment is incredible — serious, motivating, and equipped with everything you need for high-quality training. The equipment is always in top condition, and the gym is genuinely one of the cleanest in Perth. What I love most is that while it has a strong bodybuilding culture and it’s still completely inclusive to everyone. The staff are super friendly, helpful, and always happy to assist. Management really listens and responds to feedback, which makes a huge difference. The member culture is beautiful. There’s a clear standard of training and behaviour: people are respectful, they clean equipment after use, and they unload their plates — simple things that say a lot about the community. Training here feels inspiring, safe, and supportive. I absolutely love training at Dohertys and couldn’t recommend it more

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best atmosphere with a mixture of all fitness levels and goals, with great staff who are always greeting you with a smile and chat of you want to ask any questions they are always available with a mountain of information and experience. You are always welcomed at the highest level at reception and the service is next to none. Gym is always clean, and reception staff are super friendly and you always feel welcomed. Listen to the music down stairs in the weights room, or out your headphones on and zone out. Great place to train, or workout.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym! Doherty’s Gym Perth is one of the best gyms I’ve trained at in a while. Super well-equipped, with training zones for all levels and a spotless, well-maintained space. The functional training area upstairs was a personal favourite — spacious, versatile, and perfect for mixing things up. The crew there were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. No fuss, no ego — just good vibes and an easy casual pass option, which made training while visiting Perth a breeze. I just wish I had a Doherty’s near me! Highly recommend to anyone serious about training!

Negative experience: I trained at Perth Dohertys gym for 10 months, and I am disappointed to share my experience, which ultimately led to my departure from the gym. Unfortunately, I encountered a situation that I believe reflects a serious issue with discrimination. I was treated differently by one of the trainers because of my race. Specifically, I was instructed to wear specific boots for squats, while another member, who is white, was allowed to wear the same boots without issue. When I raised my concern about this apparent double standard, the trainer dismissed my complaint and stated that he could enforce rules as he pleased. He even kicked me out of the gym, despite my membership still being valid. This experience left me feeling not only disappointed with the gym's policies but also hurt by the blatant display of racism. It’s disheartening to see a facility that should promote health and inclusivity instead foster an environment where members are treated unfairly based on their race.

Negative experience: I live nearby to this gym, freaking use blower almost everyday around 5am? Nuts

Negative experience: I would give this one star but considering how cheap the membership is, here’s two. Equipments fine, facility’s old, the staff are kind of strange. They have a habit of closing all the doors and turning off the fans and music 30 minutes before close- even the power to the bathrooms. I can understand 5 minutes maybe.. but I can only train late so it’s kind of annoying when they hotbox the place up and try to push you out the door

Negative experience: A fully naff gym, the receptionists and attitude of them is all wrong. They think they are above everyone. And ignorant. Greeted with a half hearted greeting and roll of the eyes, There are gyms in Perth that are miles better, bigger with more equipment and kinder and better staff and better membership prices and atmosphere too and know what there talking about when it comes to training You were in the wrong to say what you said to me and ban me for the behavior of one of your members throwing a tantrum. Who wants to train around negative people like that.

Positive experience: Great strength gym, wide variety of equipment. Rather small area for warm up in the back by a corner hung punch bag. I don't remember seeing any cardio equipment but I only visited once. Again the gym is filled with bodybuilding champion photos, so clearly Strength is the goal

Fantastic experience: This is a proper gym. It's large with a good range of equipment, plenty of plates and dumbells. It's clean and tidy - people actually unload the machines and put weights away. Best of all, it's only 10$aus for a casual session. You do need a towel but can hire one for 2$aus. Would defo recommend.

Fantastic experience: The best there is really, train surrounded by those with the same mindset to go hard and get after it. No aircon, but it’s not needed in this place. Get one of their experienced PTs and get down there!

Fantastic experience: Awesome equipments for bodybuilding and perfect for getting a mind muscle connection. I loved the idea of having thick grips for light weights which develops strength for beginners.

Fantastic experience: Came early morning for a 5am leg day during a work trip. Because i am living the work-life balance value. Yeah nah cheers, good on me. Good spot, fine music, fine equipments and so easy for a casual entry. Let us all work hard, workout harder and recover at the hardest.

Negative experience: Obnoxious, rude and abusive staff. Fail to comply with the Fitness Code of Practice Regulations 2020 (WA) )(the code) by forcing members to cancel their membership in person. Fail to respond to a letter of request for cancellation of gym membership as per the Fitness Industry Code of Practice. Complaint made to the department of consumer protection. Been advised by Consumer protection that they will be dealt with accordingly as per the Fitness Code of Practice Regulations 2020 (WA).

The equipment and space absolutely spotlessly clean with all members cleaning down their equipment which is reassuring during Covid. So much equipment especially if your into body building. there is a cardio floor with lots of equipment. Fantastic experience: When I moved from Vic, I searched hi and low for the perfect gym. This is it, the the vibe is incredible. Everyone is friendly and wants to help you. I recommend this gym over the 10+ others I have tried throughout perrh and surroundings 4 months moving here. This is were you want to be!
