Fantastic experience: I took my son and his friend for a climb and we were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. We all had a blast. The upstairs area, although not very high, was incredibly hard to do. It worked on your core muscles (mine have somewhat disappeared haha) The boys said they had the best time! Despite the fear of the tall/high section upon entry. We all had a go

Positive experience: Staff were very friendly and welcoming, which was great. Unfortunately, the place was overcrowded, making it hard to get on many climbs. A lot of the climbing walls looked pretty worn out and in need of some maintenance. Has potential, but the overall experience was a bit underwhelming.

Fantastic experience: Did some top roping here. Really loved the setting. You can tell they spend a heap of time at Araps and are trying to bring you some of the fun close to home

Fantastic experience: Great climbing gym with a lot of old school charm. Had a deceptively large bouldering section upstairs, with campus board and moon board and plenty of boulder problems. Will go back next time im in Geelong.

Negative experience: Took the kids here today. Staff were busy talking about how drunk they got at Fatboy slim to help the children. I was disappointed to be told that they won't help the kids on the ropes and there is only 2 walls the kids can climb without someone helping them on the ground. I found the place to be dirty and in need of an update. The toilets were gross, hair everywhere over the floor and a full bin overflowing even though we were the first ones there after opening and only customers there the whole time. Please make it clear on the website that children need to have an adult each to support them. Or tell us before we pay. I assumed the staff would be helpful and be with us, teaching the kids what to do, but like I said they were too busy talking behind the counter loudly about partying. Waste of money and time.

Fantastic experience: Staff are excellent, 3 young guys with the best customer service. I was so shit at tying the rope, these guys were so helpful, patient and relaxed (I still did not get it right) . Facilities are awesome, upstairs is great . Highly recommend 10 out of 10

Fantastic experience: First time rock climbing, loved it. Went on a Wednesday, not too crowded at all. Paid $64 for two persons + shoes, harness, chalk. Were allowed to stay as long as we wanted. Got a short training exercise and were then free to do our own thing. Always someone at Reception. ‍♀️ Two rooms: one with rock climbing with ropes, one without ropes but crash mats. Fun date night activity. ️ Private parking area To be fair, the place is not too big, so I can imagine you can bump into other people easily when a bit more crowded. But worth to spend an evening here!

Positive experience: Car park is hidden at the right-hand side at the end of the road. Kind of tricky. Challenging as rock climbing.

Fantastic experience: Really solid gym, nice diversity in routes technique and grades. Richard is super knowledgeable and friendly, and an excellent setter. I wish this was closer so it could be my home gym.

Fantastic experience: Awesome place to take the kids and keep them active and develop their skills in a controlled environment. Bouldering room upstairs is lots of fun and challenging, Downstairs is even better and the staff are really helpful. My advice is get the bag of chalk even for the kids. Makes a big difference. Fantastic experience: It is a great experience. Great for children and adults at the same time, too. You go there once, and then you go multiple times after. Each time you go, you improve rock-climbing skills which help improve grip and confidence. I highly recommend this amazing place for all ages and people.

Fantastic experience: Richard was a top bloke! It was my first time checking out this climbing gym. The guys were very friendly and patient in helping me get set up and inducted. The bouldering routes upstairs were well made and transition smoothly while still providing enough challenge for beginners and experienced climbers alike. I especially liked the fact that most of the surfaces were cave-like with a rocky texture. I didn't try out the top-roping section but there are lots of climbs to attempt if that's your thing! There's also a modest gear shop where they sell some shoes and other accessories. Richard, the owner, is a very experienced climber himself and is definitely worth having a chat to if you want to learn a thing or two!

Positive experience: We took 60 girls from the National Girl Guide Jamboree rock climbing for the morning. The staff were fantatsic and the girls had an awesome time bouldering and climbing. Plenty of space for everyone and great facilities. We divided into two groups, so definitely enough harnesses for 30 people at one go. If you're in the Geelong area and enjoy climbing, pop into the Rock and give them a go

The staff were truly wonderful - giving their help and expertise with the rock climbing, in addition to putting on a great birthday party. Negative experience: Quite Outdated, Bouldering Area Had Padding In The Center But No Padding Under The Outskirt Climbs, Could Be Dangerous For Beginners, Induction Trainers VERY Lax And Let Someone Pass Their Belaying When They Clearly Didn't Know What They Were Doing ... Carabiner Was Awkwardly Zip Tied To The Middle Of The Belaying Mechanism So You Couldn't Interchange From Right To Left And Climbing Shoes Were Not Inforced. This Is A Rock Climbing Facility For Casual Climbers And Experienced Climbers, Beginner Climbers Will Most Likely Struggle As The Simple Climbs Are On Par With Intermediate Climbs. The Climbs Were Moreso Stressful Than Fun And For The Only Climbing Place In The Area, It's Adequate, But Wouldn't Recommend This Climbing Facility To Anybody

Positive experience: Went to try the bouldering but found their set-up is really only for advanced climbers. The "easy" climbs were very difficult for beginners - I wouldn't recommend this unless you already had a high level of upper body strength and experience in bouldering

Fantastic experience: My daughter had her 10th birthday party here on Sunday. What a great place. While the lovely staff trained and played a few climbing games with the children upstairs, the parents where able to get a coffee downstairs. The staff took great care of the children and even the parents got involved assisting the children as they climbed and repelled the walls. After training of course. The venue had an upstairs party area which was great as it gave you a little privacy to sing happy birthday open presents and eat the party food. The whole facility was ours for 2 1/2 hours during the party. The Rock provided everything we needed to hold the party, soft drink, ice cream cake, lolly bags all included in the fee, all we had to bring was party food and napkins. They even heated up the food for us. A really great facility to hold a birthday party, highly recommended if you want to try something different that the children will remember for a long time. Ohh and they slept well that night too!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely Amazing! A hidden gem. We have three kids, 11, 8 and 6 who joined the kids club this term. I couldn’t be more impressed at the personal growth the kids have experienced on the walls, but more importantly to me the new way they approach challenges with a problem solving attitude outside of the climbing gym. Great instructors, kids have fun, amazing value for money. Our family is hooked. Thanks team, we really appreciate how welcoming you have been.

Positive experience: Staff are super friendly here! Really helped me out in finding a pair of climbing shoes to purchase. The rock climbing section is suitable for all levels of climbers. It's great that there are auto belay systems as well The bouldering section however, is confusing as more than half of the difficulty and start tags have fallen off and it is not clear which is the last piece. The problems are quite challenging for beginners as most if not all of the routes are either on an incline or in a cave There were kids screaming and mucking around too. Would come back for rock climbing but not so much for bouldering.

Fantastic experience: Went here for a group thing and had a ball. Staff are great and super friendly. Daughter loves it too. I have no idea how people get so good a bouldering but they're amazing! I was more into the wall climbs. They got little challenges there to make it harder for you if you want. I mean this place was just amazing. I had a poke around the other stuff there, mostly over my head but it looks like they sell most any sort of equipment you need plus do trips out of town and junk. I just had a ball with it all. Now I just gotta figure out their hours and my hours to find some time I won't be missed where I can practice that bouldering thing so I don't fall on my butt all the time.

Fantastic experience: These guys rock! That's the number 1 most terrible pun ever. So sorry... Lovely friendly staff and super helpful if you want a few tips. We are really what you'd term 'beginner climbers' having climbed for fun and fitness rather than seriously. However we are fit (and I pole dance) so we were excited to try some overhangs, learn some technique and try out our grip strength on the campus board. We passed a good 2 hours just on the bouldering wall and the finger boards etc,: 2 kids of 14 years old and myself. It would be good to have a few more longer bouldering routes mapped out with the coloured tags so you could easily find a few more routes tailored at your own level, especially since we were mostly using the 2 easier categories out of the 4. However generally it is a well-equipped place and they really do their level best to accommodate a huge range of abilities and ages. We often just go for a bouldering session however I highly recommend the climbing walls - they are excellent and diverse. You can also go solo as they use auto belays if required. We now make it a weekly thing for a bit of fun, cross training and exercise.
