Fitness Cartel Sippy Downs - 24/7 Gym

Negative experience: Stopped using the Sippy Downs gym due it being so cramped and always over crowded. Was advertised as being very different to this. The "functional area" is so small and always over packed with people.

Positive experience: I ordered a shake here I grabbed the correct drink and it was completely a different order, wrong flavour it was too watery and had too much ice. It was undrinkable but there is one person that works there that gets my shake correct every time.

Negative experience: DO NOT SIGN UP! I wish I had read the reviews before being deceived and my friends' privacy invaded. 1. I've signed up for a fix contract - 6 months. I was told after these months the contract expires, so to let them know if I wished to renew. I didn't want to renew. I was still getting charged after contract expired, so I questioned why and I was told that after the fixed contract ends, you are still to request 30 days cancellation and have to fill in a form. If I had told them to stop payments before that 6 months mark, I would have had to pay cancellation fees. Basically they just want your money. 2. By signing up I am told to provide a few friends telephone numbers. I questioned again why and I am answered that there is no reason, We WILL NOT SEND TEXTS OR SPAM THOSE NUMBERS. Guess who is getting spammed by their texts? 3. Receptionists are judgemental and unapproachable, exactly like someone else said. They look at you from their pedestal. Not happy or smiley. 4. Equipment is never cleaned. Also there is only one abductor machine and one hips thrust, so you're there lining up, wasting time waiting for others to finish their workout. 5. The music is waaaay too loud. I was in there on a Tuesday night and I could not even hear my earphones. It was annoying listening to "We don't talk about Bruno" while trying to get some workout done. I had to leave after 15 minutes! 6. Reception and management were advised by these issues and nothing has changed.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal fitness center! Great equipment, good general vibe from the patrons the week day we visited, friendly helpful staff, amazing hot rocks sauna and very nice/fancy bathroom facilities. Not one complaint. Check out my other fitness cartel review if you’re considering the one in Maroochydore. This facility is leaps and bounds better than M’dore.

Negative experience: i personally don’t normally go out of my way to write reviews but unfortunately the behaviour of sippy downs cartel receptionist’s needs to be acknowledged. They are rude, unhelpful and vindictive. I have gone to many cartels throughout Queensland, and their customer service is the worst yet. The front of house staff, seem to be judgemental and unapproachable, not what you want to be the face of a gym. I’d recommend looking into this as if you’ve just lost a member and no doubt more from this.

Negative experience: If I could give less then one start I would. Great when it was new but now it’s so full and busy all the time. I was even going at 10pm to get some equipment but then started getting bothered by young men. Also their contact cancelation policy is so sneaky. I signed up for 3 months. After the 3 months I assumed it was over … nope you have to give 30 days notice then fill in a bunch of paperwork. If you like having to wait, feeling scared, and being scammed this is the gym for you. P.s no one wipes their equipment when they are done. Enjoy

Negative experience: Being on a monthly rolling contract i have asked to cancel 5 weeks in a row now with 4 weeks notice as per the contract. Everytime i ring up i am told Il be sent a text message or someone will be in contact to go through the cancellation process. 5 weeks later and still money is being taken out of my account with no response or input from the gym. This is the second time a Fitness Cartel has done this. I will not be joining one again nor will i be recommending the gym to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I honestly couldn’t ask for a better place to train and coach. Great staff, solid space & quality equipment.

Negative experience: I was super excited for a gym like this to be opened close to home. From all of the pictures it looked great, with plenty of room and decent amount of equipment. Stupidly I signed up to one of the early bird memberships, yes I regret this decision and will attempt to cancel. I could not have been more disappointment, I'm only interested in the weights (this review is the weight section only and not the staff they have been great) The equipment seriously lacks, it is all on top of one another, if feels like a group fitness room (my pet hate) There is no flow to equipment setup, it look like an after thought and it felt that way too. If you are weights focused this is not really right gym. The facility is over is nice, has lots of extras, but not my style. . For those reading this and considering the review with making a decision. My style is the likes of muscle hut. I'm not a group fitness person, did not sign up for group fitness part of facility. Added to my previous comments a month in. No one has contacted me with regards to my previous concerns or my request to cancel. There has been some changes to the gym layout. still very cramped, and is definitely an after thought. Waiting for equipment most of the time. I would think most people don't have all day to wait for equipment, this has proven to be a struggle. I ask one of the staff members about adjusting a couple of the leg presses as I wanted to use a specific type of leg press was told it doesn't adjust for someone with my lack of height and the equipment at this end is for the big boys you would be better off using the machines at the other side of the cardio. I personally find it less than inviting. I do not and will not do group fitness classes. I signed up for one reason and one reason only that was for the strength. It is so disappointing. Every time is walk in there I can't wait to get back out. I have spent many years training in gyms. The gift that keeps giving, cancellation was finally processed. Several months later with no contact, they have started taking money out again claiming they never took the full amount, so have the right to do so. Let's get a few things straight. The requests to cancel asked for forms and for someone to contact me was submitted within 48 hours of the club opening. The promise of someone following up never happened, so now out of the 48 hours cooling off period, this is my fault apparently. Yes I should have followed. I assume they would consider the first date of contact with regards to this, but no this is not the case. Not until it took several months to receive this all while paying membership fees. Yet apparently I still owe fees. Staffs' inability to follow through should not be costing customers money. Just don't join I'm sure there are better option, the customer service is appalling.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with everything you need. I’m in my 40s and getting back into training after a bit of a break, and Fitness Cartel Sippy Downs has made that a lot easier. Plenty of space, good gear, and a solid mix of people—not just young bodybuilders or influencers. Staff are friendly and not pushy, which I appreciate. It’s clean, well set up, and has a relaxed, no-pressure feel that makes it easy to just focus and train. I go early mornings before work and it’s never too packed. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a no-BS gym where you can just get it done.

Fantastic experience: This gym is honestly awesome, yeh it’s not as massive as some, though all the equipment is new, the staff are super friendly and always ready to help, and the bathrooms are next-level—fully stocked and even have a sauna which easily makes up for the space. The shakes and coffee are tasty and easy on the wallet. There are heaps of classes to choose from, so there’s always something fun to jump into.

Negative experience: I joined under the early bird special with high hopes, but the experience has been disappointing. The gym is consistently overcrowded, equipment waits are long, cleanliness is lacking, and staff responsiveness is poor. The service doesn’t match what was promised, and I feel misled. I’ve reached a point where I will now be doing my best to cancel my membership and wouldn’t recommend it based on my experience.

Negative experience: Gyms not really cleaned well. Dust everywhere through the gym and in the bathrooms There was alot of promises made from the beginning of opening that still haven't been fulfilled and probably won't ever be... was promised an infra-red sauna that could be used 24/7. They then put in a coal one and now can only be used through staffed hours, which doesn't help us who train before work. Just feel like they overhyped this gym to sell membership, and now they couldn't care less about their clients' concerns. They just want our money from us and won't fix anything

Negative experience: Money taking from my card unnecessarily.i contact customer service they said our customer relations officer is meeting at movement she calling back.i called more than 20 times she never called me back.she put email.poor customer service and very bad reputation.they taking contract from people,they don't tell anything about contact.i Havant received any contract.they said 48 hours cooling period..... people will realise within a year how bad this gum am totally disappointed dealing with customer relations officer...I probably going to consumer court advise for taking money unnecessary...

Negative experience: This gym has zero fans… it doesn’t matter how cold the aircon is, without air flow it’s torture. Please put some fans in, at the very least put them in the cardio area. The cardio area has these giant silly lights above the treadmills, those light radiate massive amounts of heat onto your head, it’s unbearable. I’ve asked at the front desk a few times, they said they’re coming but it’s been weeks. Do something it’s terrible.

Positive experience: Smaller than expected & hoped, but i really love the virtual spin classes ! "The trip" was a really cool class to take ! Cafe is brilliant and the "sleigh the day" shake was literally my dream hahahaha. Sooo yum!! Pros & cons training here. Small space yes but lovely vibe. Reformer class was super fun & such a lovely & switched on instructor! Con was i said i was brand new & i didn't even get taught what springs were haha, when she mentioned changing springs i was sooo confused i had to ask another girl in the class for help. Didn't know what she meant by box or bench either haha. 1min before class a quick run down with me before we started would've been amazing & led to a smooth class ! I got there early so was heaps of time to have helped me out after i asked for it. Went to @ 24/7 pilates a few weeks after & they helped me with everything! Really liked the instructor here but yeah feedback would be when someone says hi i'm new please help me out, would be so nice to give them a run down so it doesn't distrupt the flow of the class for everyone else later :) all in all, did enjoy my time here though and no hard feelings ! Love many aspects of the space. Spin bikes tho, majorly uncomfortable haha probably the worst i have sat on hahahaha. You 100% need bike pants omg. Have been to MANY spin studios on the coast & never found a seat this uncomfy before hahaha. Mainly stood the whole time i did any virtual spin classes.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this gym. Amenities are great, staff are awesome. Shout out to Sam who signed me up. Super motivating and his energy is contagious. Highly recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: 10 outa 10 . Absolute awesome gym heaps of space and top-notch equipment n plenty free weights. Big shout out to Chloe making signing up an easy stress free experience. And I tip my hat to management to being accommodating to Veterans after warservice. Good onya guys .

Negative experience: Disappointing Experience with Data Privacy Issues I had a very frustrating experience with Fitness Cartel Sippy Downs regarding the handling of my personal information. Despite not consenting to my data being shared, they provided it to a third party without my approval. When I explicitly requested that they not contact me under any circumstances, I continued to receive marketing emails. To make matters worse, their app was completely unusable in allowing me to toggle off consent for my health information to be used—something I had already made clear to them. The lack of respect for customer privacy and failure to address my concerns properly is deeply disappointing. If you value your data privacy and clear communication from a business, I would strongly reconsider before signing up here.

Negative experience: *READ ALL THE REAL REVIEWS PRIOR TO SIGNING ON - DONT FALL FOR THE FAKE ONES OR BUY INTO THEIR SALES PITCH. Gym is so poorly designed and over sold that its near impossible to have a normal workout. Was sold that it was bigger than maroochydore by square meterage? Sure is if you included all the useless non-functional spaces?? Cramped, small, pokey, and over subscribed. Fc sold us on the foundation memberships that were suppose to be exclusive with a sign on deadline, inwhich since signing on before the intial deadline they have offered repeatidly and unexclusivly. Also now even tho there is barely a time inwhich the gym floor is not over crowded they continue to push memberships with now a $5 for 5 weeks offer to recruit even more members. Where is an offer like that for your exclusive foundation members Whilst we continue to pay top rate your now offering even better rates to recruit more??? No loyalty to fm's here. Also because the gym is actually smaller than stated in functional space the equipement is stacked so close to each other you can barley walk between when in use without risk of getting hit or hampering the other members ability to use the machine. Extremely dissapointed. Fitness cartel is a smoke and mirrors sales pitch that it fails to deliver apon.

Negative experience: Also extremely disappointed with the experience at FC Sippy Downs. Sales tactics that were used were extremely deceptive, issues regarding billing were left unresolved for months even after being confirmed multiple times over phone and email that the issue had been resolved. Communication was ignored until the manager was CC’d in on emails. Manager was looking into arranging something for their lack and complete misinformation of our accounts and has now been a month with no response so far.

Positive experience: I love the setup and the equipment. The bathrooms are amazing too with the saunas however there aren't as many group classes available as other gyms and everything is always dirty (nobody wants to do body balance and get dirt stuck on them from the floor).

Negative experience: Really small and disappointing. Bathrooms are unhygienic and dirty. I was disgusted when I finished my workout and went to the bathroom to blow dry my hair when I could feel dust start to come through my hair. I then touch the bench and a thick layer of dust went all on my fingers. I tried to clean it off, however staff just left it. Was all dusty under the bench, dust on every single hair device cord.

Negative experience: A disappointing experience. I found significant issues with their customer engagement process. The lack of transparent pricing information, particularly regarding the $199 signup fee, and inconsistent communication from their membership sales team raised serious concerns about their professional standards. Despite multiple attempts to clarify the $199 signup fee and membership terms, I experienced unresponsive and unprofessional communication. These interactions demonstrated a customer service approach that prioritised sales tactics over genuine member support, ultimately leading me to select an alternative fitness facility with more transparent and responsive practices. It’s a shame in such early days of Fitness Cartel being open, this is the experience I had as I was genuinely interested in signing up.

Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing, the equipment is all new, it’s huge, the staff are all lovely and very helpful, the bathrooms are stunning full of everything you need plus a Sauna. The shakes and coffee are affordable and tasty. My favourite space is the Reformer Pilates and the instructors are all incredible, shout out to Bianca. I can already feel the difference in my body. Keep up the great work team.

Positive experience: Friendly staff good equipment. But the music volume needs to be halved, feel like I have to yell in order to have a small chat with anyone and need to give myself hearing damage in order to hear my own music in my headphones over theirs.

Negative experience: Started off poorly with signing up and being told nothing about the $100 joining fee. I only found out about it once I received an email when I got home after agreeing to my rate. Very cheeky. However, not surprising with this industry I guess. The weights area is so cramped you have to plan your route to put weights back because you can’t fit more than one person in front or behind of benches at a time. There’s a real lack of planning with the space, considering it opened late it’s disappointing the space couldn’t be better thought out. It’s like someone got too excited when ordering gear they just selected everything and threw it all in and hoped for the best. Pretty gutted it’s a 12 month contract now. Bathrooms are nice. Hoping the downsides can be improved on in a hurry. I wouldn’t recommend currently. New isn’t always better.

Negative experience: I have been really disappointed with the set-up at Sippy Downs. The machines are so close to each other its actually pretty dangerous. You often have to wait for someone to finish a set so you can walk past a machine without impeding on their space / set. Overall layout seems to have way too much space allocated to group fitness, cycle and pilates and no where near enough for cardio, stretching, functional and the main weights floor. It is also missing some relatively standard equipment that you would expect in a premium gym, i.e., Pendulum Squat. Worst of all is that the only stretching area is in the functional space so you literally cannot use the sled or kettlebells unless you set a slalom course. Music is so loud that even noise cancelling headphones don't cut it. Staff as always are great, and the larger sauna is a positive but that's about it unfortunately. A real shame.

Negative experience: NEGATIVE: Excessive equipment piled up, V SHAPED GAP between dead lift platforms that can cause serious ankle INJURIES EXTREMELY LOUD MUSIC. I can't hear my headphones. POSITIVE: Close to home, Kids Room for my children, parking, good toilets, reception, friendly staff.

Negative experience: No outdoor area as promised or boxing bags. Music to loud. Main floor cramped and way to many 15kg plates don't get used. Comparing to Worlds and other FC gyms this is way below anything I've seen. If they get outdoor area would be great!!!

Negative experience: The gym is tiny compared to how it was made out to be on social media. The weights section is cramped and for a gym that was made out to rival world gym, this one is more like a snap fitness. It’s got great spec on paint, lighting and bathrooms but for lifters this is a very underwhelming home. Functional area is tiny and if there’s 3 people in there you’re already on top of each other. If it wasn’t hyped up to be a huge space it wouldn’t be so disappointing. Sign up was a mess, I agree with the other comment about deceptive conduct about rates changing if you don’t sign up on that day, I was told the same thing. Their fifo membership is BS aswell, charge the whole 12 months then get 6 months free. Why not just pay week on week off for the continuation of the membership.

Fantastic experience: Simply WOW! Kicking off 2025 with a renewed outlook on my health and just found the perfect platform. Fitness Cartel has the most comprehensive range of health and fitness facilities I've ever seen in one place, all with a generous splash of bling. Being mature and overweight I was a little apprehensive about going to a "gym", however the team have been amazing and supportive, glad to have their help on my journey. Have never been a gym junkie, though I may have just been converted!

Negative experience: Heads up for those that go to the gym after hours and like to use the sauna. You can only use it when it’s staff hours. So although it claims to be 24/7 the sauna is not. Disappointing to have not been told this when joining.

Positive experience: Avoid going to the second level. It has the worst parking I have ever seen on a building. Once is full. It's imposible to get out. It has just one entry and one exit on the ramp.

Negative experience: I signed up long before fitness cartel opened, I was excited, realised I could get a much better deal elsewhere. I canceled months before they opened, they still charged me today as they opened. I have my bank getting the money back from them. Their service is terrible, money scabs.

Fantastic experience: Sam is an absolute legend—genuine and truly dedicated to his clients. He goes above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. I must admit I'm a bit perplexed by some of the "pushy comments" I've seen, as I'm still waiting for my contract, which I expect to receive today. However, I can understand where those feelings come from, as many gyms can be like that. The industry as a whole has room for improvement in this area. Therefore, I certainly do not dismiss those ratings. That being said, my experience with Sam has been fantastic. We’ve been in touch for at least two weeks, and our conversations have centered around ensuring that this gym is the right fit for me. For instance, I have a strong preference for gyms with saunas, which is a must-have for me—and I'm happy to say they deliver on that front! Among other things, like a good range of PTs, classes, etc. While I can’t speak for the management, I have seen Sam advocate for me personally. If you're looking for a supportive and caring consultant, I highly recommend reaching out to Sam! Really looking forward to the opening!

Negative experience: I put in an enquiry requesting a price for Fitness Cartel Sippy Downs and I was phoned 3 weeks later by one of the managers at the gym. The man told me via phone call that if I didn't sign up on the day of the phone call the price would be $6 more the following day as they only have a set number of memberships at the $19.95 per week price range. My friend was contacted the following day and was told the exact same price of $19.95 per week and the price had not gone up. It appears as though Fitness Cartel uses "scare tactics" to rush people into making a decision to join. For a club that isn't even opening for another 3 months it is not a good first impression. The sales person was extremely "pushy" and attempted to get me to sign up for approximately 10 minutes via phone call for their 15 month contract. 1/5 I'd rate lower if possible.

Fantastic experience: This gym isn’t even open yet and it’s already bringing in so much excitement around fitness and health. Can’t wait to start training there. Also, the staff that I have spoken to over the phone are so lovely and helpful. Super keen!
