Iron Playground: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Recently joined, great staff, great equipment.
Fantastic experience: Been training here for nearly 3 years and there isn't one negative thing I have to say about this gym !! it's never too packed and it has all the equipment I need plus room to do my hip thrusts and deadlifts. It is a friendly environment where everyone knows eachother and no creepy guys perving at girls!! 10/10 gym love all the glute machines would definitely recommend
Fantastic experience: I decided to give this place a try recently which I'm wrapped I did. I'd purchased a functional trainer for home during Covid lockdowns from across the road (owned by the same mob). Functional trainer is AWESOME!!! Literally everyone at home is putting it's through its paces. Only problem is, you can't do a "legit" leg day on it. So, we popped down to give it a go. I had to take some pics in the end as there were some different machines in here I haven't seen anywhere. Or truthfully haven't seen anything even remotely close. One of the staff mentioned that some machines are designed in-house and manufactured accordingly overseas; so there's a good chance you WON'T find them elsewhere even if you tried. Pretty cool, reminded me of the old Mike's Gym in Dandy (now Doherty's) where he built a lot of his own gear (still there today! ☺️). Anyway, the place was spotless in terms of cleanliness; Big Tick. Some machines were ABSOLUTELY shining. Apparently, heaps of stuff has recently been updated, which isn't something you see too often with gyms. They had those cool treadmills you see people running on when you open your bloody Insta. The non-motorised ones that roll based on how fast you run etc. So there was a heap of new and different and traditional machines. My son and I just smashed the wide range of leg machines which was mooooorree than enough for our needs. (we did have a cheeky play on some of the different units I'd never seen at any other gym before - been to a few over the last 30 years). One other factor which really caught my attention was the number of members is capped!! So they aren't in it to churn memberships and try to get rich by having hundreds of members. I'd not heard of this approach before; and thought it was pretty cool. Overall, 10 out of 10 experience and we're going back today to do what looks like will be our regularly Leg Day routine to supplement the hard yards we're doing at home on the FT.
Fantastic experience: Had my first workout today. Been a member of more than ten gyms and this gym is pretty awesome. Equipment is great and not crowded at all.
Positive experience: Although more a free weight type of guy this place seems a solid place to train. Was charged $10 casual entry (not sure where the $5 fee came from as claimed in previous neg review). Anyway am sure a feedback/suggestion box could be installed in the gym if the business wanted feedback, would be a much nicer platform than the internet or mentioning competitors down the road.
