Sydney Pole Blacktown: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Extremely fun and inviting space Sydney Pole is. Kings Park is my main branch. The free trial class with Ali May was what made me absolutely fall in love with pole dancing. Completed the 5 weeks beginner course with Suzie Q, making me love it even more and now I’m currently half way through the 10 weeks beginner course with Megs who is so lively, fun and helpful. The contortion classes with Lara Love are so fun and beneficial as well. I find it to be a very non-judgemental and uplifting space with plenty of friendly members no matter what class. The owner of Sydney Pole, Robyn, has also been extremely accomodating with my queries and requests. I’m a mumma to a 9 month old bubba and a full time uni student so I’ve had to take a little break from pole dancing for a short while and Robyn and her team let me extend the expiration date of my classes with ease. I’m so incredibly grateful.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and teachers. So encouraging and positive. Recommend checking them out
Negative experience: It’s a nice studio however, the majority of classes say no pre requisites required and that couldn’t be further from the truth for beginners. At $42 a class I’d expect not to be ignored, just jump in on classes people have been doing for months with no assistance. I’ve never been taught how to do a move, just told to copy what the people in the class have already been doing with no proper instruction. As a fitness instructor I’m pretty embarrassed at that. The instructors seem to know their craft, but not how to teach if that makes sense. Also curriculum is not explained at all, and they’re pushy with membership. One free trial class and they want you in a $60 a week 6 month contract with no explanation of curriculum or what clothes or shoes to wear to each class. It feels extremely judgmental, It’s all guess work unless you’re a teachers favourite, you’re also expected to follow instructors instagrams to keep up with what’s going on. Very Gen z type behaviour, unless you have intermediate to advanced dance and pole training you’re wasting your time and money
Negative experience: Very nice pole dancing Thoroughly enjoyed it
Fantastic experience: I love this studio! It has such an amazing energy, as soon as you walk through the door! As someone who had never done pole dancing before, I was a little nervous to join their classes but Kristie made it so easy for me to make the decision to do a term … and I haven't looked back since. I honestly can't put in to words what La Pole has done for my fitness, but also my self esteem! We're like a little family and the studio has become my happiest happy place. All the instructors are incredible but Kristie and Mel in particular have been amazing. It's such an empowering group of people :) I've learnt so much in the year that I have been doing pole with them, made so many friends, overcome so many fears and I can't wait to see what comes next! <3
