Hills Sports Fitness and Aquatic Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: オーストラリアでのバッティングは初めてでしたが親切に対応してくれました!ありがとう!
Positive experience: Good place to catch some valuable practice in. Especially in the late evenings after sun down. They have 3 automatic bowling machine lanes, two manual bowling machine lanes and 3 run up lanes. The run up lanes are quite short and the ceiling is quite low so it‘ll be hard for both spinners and pacers, however it is amazing for coaching and playing throw downs. The manual bowling machines are hard to book and break down here and there, but apart from that they are top tier. Would definitely recommend.
Positive experience: Top notch facilities. Great instructors
Fantastic experience: Nestled into the commercial business area, swimming, gym, indoor sports, physiotherapy and a cafe, if you have trouble parking there is plenty around the back of the building no one uses.
Fantastic experience: Clean and convenient
Negative experience: The mixed netball competition is run by a group of arrogant, non-sportsman like individuals who would rather hold onto their pride than maintain a fun, social competition. During my SHORT time in this competition, I have witnessed several teams leave, which is a worrying occurrence and an inexorable sentiment that is shared amongst many other teams. I cannot speak for the other teams that have left, however from my experience, we weren't given a chance to learn the rules, which makes it frustrating when the referee calls against you and COMPLETELY refuses to explain the rules as you go; even when you ask. What's worse is the condescending attitude in which you are treated by the management and experienced teams who just happen to be related/and or friends. I would strongly suggest against joining this competition if you're looking for a fun, and not too serious, way to stay fit. Unless the managers of this competition realise that their business model is completely misconstrued, as they would rather lose money than to admit their negligence, I doubt that this will change for you and I would hate to be the one to say "I told you so".
Negative experience: Really disappointed in this indoor centre's mixed netball competition (Thursday nights). Our team were looking for a fun way to keep fit, but our expectation was met with the condescending and unsportsmanlike attitude from the more experienced teams. Adding to this, these teams were friends and family of the refs/centre owner, meaning we rarely saw a fair and well-umpired game. In fact, it was arrogance and ignorance that influenced many decisions by the ref. In particular, when asking to leave the comp because we were unhappy, we had complained the umpire failed to communicate some of their calls AND we were sought out by the boyfriend of the team's player (who was a by-stander AND keeping score). In response, the Centre owner said: "I had tried to explain it to you in the first game you gave me that face 'what the f**k are you talking about'", and failed to address the crowd, which reflected the kind of standoffish treatment we received when dealing with any umpire or management official in this centre. If you're looking for a fun social comp, I'd recommend against registering here for the risk you will be targeted for being a beginner or new to the centre. For some teams, the comp is about winning rather than being social, and for that, we will recommend ANY OTHER indoor centre in the area than this one.
