Negative experience: I haven’t attended this gym in months I’ve just got terminated from my employment no fault of my own so I have no income coming in. I’ve emailed for financial assistance nothing but it doesn’t stop you guys from calling & emailing me every single week without fail for the missed payments.

Negative experience: They keep having issues with my direct debit even when I know for a fact they have my correct bank details and there’s enough funds in my account; it’s been many phone calls and in person chats with many promises they’d sort it out but the same recurring problem months later. I regret signing up with them tbh. I much prefer Derrimuts for price, equipment, convenience, vibe etc anyway even with rumours of them shutting down due to questionable business practices.

Negative experience: Poor customer services and lack of transparency and a huge issue of ethics. I have been with them for nearly 2 years, under my contract it’s 14- day cancelling notice. When I asked the first time for cancellation, they sweet talked me for a free 4-week frozen period. But I still got charged for the week right after. I came in to the gym and gave the receptionist my card to check whether my account is frozen. He said no. So no action was taken when I requested. I was so annoyed and asked him to cancel on 13 June. My last payment was supported to be on 23 June, but they still tried to charge me for another 2 weeks after the last week of cancelling notice payment was made, then gave me an explanation saying it’s 30day notice not 14 days. I paid for extra 2 weeks plus late fees on the faults that I didn’t make. When I called in, this time it’s a female receptionist. I said one of the male reps said the cancellation notice is 14 days, the girl said “oh he is no longer working here” what kind of bullshit is that? So Goodlife has no responsibility of your employees training and information? Ex employees dont count? Very unreliable and unprofessional!

Fantastic experience: Only a new member but loving this gym. Everyone is friendly and helpful and very welcoming and inclusive! Thanks to all at Goodlife. Adding to my review now after 3 months membership. Still love this gym. Equipment in the weight room seems to be well looked after and maintained, and there is a good range. Have a really good PT - Luke Bull - highly recommend him - professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks again Goodlife. I am really enjoying this journey.

Negative experience: My Awful experience at Goodlife Marion I am writing to express my concerns regarding my membership and billing issues at Goodlife Marion. I started my membership on 28 February 2025. According to the promotion (as shown in the attached photos), I was offered 4 weeks free. However, as of 30 May 2025, I have been charged for 8 weeks at $16.49 per week, which totals $131.92. Despite this, I have paid $261.39, meaning I’ve been charged an extra $129.47. I would like to address two important points: Cancellation Policy: When I inquired about cancelling my membership, the Goodlife Marion manager informed me—both in person and over the phone (on three separate occasions)—that there is no cancellation fee and that only 2 weeks’ notice is required. Personal Training Charges: I was contacted by a trainer regarding personal training. I clearly declined and asked if there would be any charges. I was told by Goodlife staff that it was included in my membership and I wouldn’t need to pay. Later, when I noticed a $3.90 charge, I asked about it. First, I was told it was for tax (GSA), but when I asked again, another staff member checked the system and said it was actually for personal training. I also requested to switch my payments from weekly to monthly. I received an email stating that my payments would now be due on the 29th of each month. However, when I paid $26.49 on 29 May, I called Goodlife to confirm the charge. I was told by the Marion manager that this payment was for an “insufficient fee” and I would still need to pay more to cover the membership. I went to the club in person to ask why I was charged a late or overdue fee on the same day the payment was due, but received no clear explanation. This issue has been ongoing for over a month, and unfortunately, I have not received any support or resolution from staff at the Marion location. I feel very disappointed and confused. I truly enjoy working out and even transferred my membership from SA Aquatic Centre to Goodlife, thinking it would be a better experience. However, this situation has made me feel like I made a serious mistake. On Wednesday, I attended a Pilates Mat class and really enjoyed it, which reminded me why I joined. But the continued billing issues are making it very hard for me to feel comfortable and valued as a member. Also, my roommate was planning to join Goodlife, but based on my experience, I do not feel comfortable recommending it. This situation has caused me stress, wasted my time and money, and impacted my motivation and mood. I would also like to add that I have shared my experience with Goodlife publicly after cancelling my membership on google review, so others can be aware and make informed decisions. Negative experience: Avoid this gym! Notorious for their sales reps being liars! They told me there were 14 days free and if I cancelled within those 14 days all would be ok. I was working in Adelaide at the time and didn't know if my stay would be temporary or permanent. I cancelled my contract after 12 days and have been told that this is not possible. Now they're threatening me with debt collectors and saying that they will keep my contract rolling racking up over $1000 despite me attending the gym only 3 times within my first week then cancelling. DO NOT SIGN UP!!!

Negative experience: I wrote to this particular gym some weeks ago initially stating my inability to continue attending due to my veteran conditions. More recently I tried to cancel my membership completely only to be met with excuses and delays as to that cancelation being processed, and only when finally prompted with mention of potentially bringing in the assistance of the Department of Veteran's affairs and other organisations did they finally (and promptly) action this membership cancellation which they should have just done when initially requested. This went from a standard request to an unnecessarily frustrated demand and I hope they learn from this experience.

Negative experience: Horrible customer experience. Visited the gym as a potential customer, ask the front counter staff for a tour and a no lock-in contract gym only membership. Not only he didn't give me a gym tour, he first "filtered" it with a verbal question of whether I'm able to commit to them for 3 months or 6 months saying it's not really a contract but I've to commit (which to me seems like a contract, and a scam in disguise of commitment). I said again, I'd like the option of a no lock-in contract membership and was just asking for pricing. He again incompetently gave me a cheaper pricing (which wasn't that cheap) but with 12 months contract, which showed he wasn't listening to me and only gave what he wanted to sell. He wasn't even wearing a proper uniform, was wearing a casual plain shirt which looked very unprofessional. Then, when I asked again for no lock-in contract membership, he said he can't help me with that. Well, that was a total shame and disappointment on him and the gym for not providing no lock-in membership and competitive pricing options, and he just lost a potential customer, as there are many other gyms that can provide both.

Negative experience: I paid the mandatory interstitial fee last year, expecting to access the other gym in north Adelaide 24/7 as advertised. However, when I arrived, everything was completely closed, and I was unable to enter. This is absolutely unacceptable! I will be requesting an immediate cancellation of my membership and a full refund. If necessary, I will also take legal action. This kind of service is misleading and disrespectful to paying customers. Avoid this gym at all costs!

Fantastic experience: Great group fitness opportunities. Instructors are really friendly and happy to give advice when asked. From my experience in groups (mostly women) everyone cleans their equipment and returns it post-use. Good selection with cardio floor, weights, machine floor, and group session floor.

Negative experience: SCAM! Went in to ask about a membership got the whole you can cancel in a week for free speel. We have a great deal on. It was not the right fit, I asked to cancel explaining I would like to go to a different fitness studio. They debate with me and tell me they will put it on hold for free as I got “the best deal!” and could then maintain that without paying. Then they charged me for 2 weeks the next day. When I went in to cancel again they tried to convince me to stay and weren’t going to refund me telling me they would just add a week to the freeze. I argued and was finally given a cancellation and it will take 10 business days to get the refund. Save your time, money and effort. Try every other gym nearby before this one.

Negative experience: I made a contract with Vlad for 1.5 months only. He even sent a email saying I can refer to that one if the gym takes money after those 1.5 months. That nearly 3 months ago and they still take money from my account! No one is available and noone of the staff does something. Happened to 2!!! of my friends as well. I just want my money back to close my bank account, since I'm not in Australia anymore

Negative experience: I’ve been a member for a long time, but my recent experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. If you value transparency and customer service, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. About two weeks ago, I contacted them to request a refund for the advance payment left on my account. I’ve been completely ignored—no response, no follow-up, nothing. The lack of communication and professionalism is astonishing. Because of their inaction, I had to take matters into my own hands and deal with the refund process on my own, which is something no customer should have to do. Even worse, despite requesting to cancel my membership, my account remains active, and I’m still being charged. This is not only frustrating but also feels like a complete disregard for customer requests. I attempted to resolve this issue directly with the gym, but their staff was just as unhelpful. The manager I spoke with made vague promises about contacting Debit Success and issuing a partial refund, which is unacceptable considering the amount I’m owed. And to top it all off, the charges are still being deducted from my account. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and it’s clear that this gym does not prioritize its members or provide the basic respect and transparency that every customer deserves. I’ve had enough of the excuses and lack of accountability. I will not be renewing my membership and strongly advise others to think twice before signing up. Avoid this gym if you want to avoid the headache I’ve had to deal with.

Negative experience: July 24. I walked in and actually booked an appointment with the gym's sales team for 10am the next day. Came back the next morning. Lauren @Reception looked at me as if having an appointment with their sales consultant is unbelievable. She didn't let me in or call the right person out, and said: "Our sales person may not be here yet..." She quickly showed me some general information on their website before letting me go. And I gained no genuine help at all. Since when talking to a membership consultant before joining a gym becomes a luxury?? Their sales person did ring me back later but sorry Goodlife you have lost me.

Negative experience: It’s just so dirty all the time. I cleaned a mat yesterday and it was completely black on the part towel. The sauna looks like it’s never been cleaned. Dust and dirt on all equipment. The hand sanitizer is not filled regularly. It’s just nasty. It’s not worth the price of this membership. There are cheaper and cleaner options. At least get an upscale gym at the same price where people clean after themselves and the company also does a thorough clean. Also there are no mats to use in the classes which is really frustrating as part of the reason to buy a membership is providing equipment. Could do a lot better. Hopefully management can help fix the issues. There are buckets just sitting upstairs collecting rain water from leaks for days.

Negative experience: Do not even think to register here. Its been over a month for them to process the transfer. I got phone call from them as soon as I asked them to upgrade my membership. Now its been over a month since i got any transfer notice. Clearly they dont care about the customers. I wish i could get a job here so that i can earn money without any work. What a good place to work!

Negative experience: It's big and has alot of space. The gym needs a renovation and needs to bring back customers. The atmosphere is pretty dead and unmotivating. The song choice doesn't help. Reduced by another star - Sunday hours has now been reduced from an 8am opening to 11am. It's not a 24 hour gym so you're sweet out of luck if you go mornings.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN Upon joining, they said there would be no issues in transferring my membership. However they are still charging me.
Negative experience: Honestly the worst experience I've ever had trying to cancel a membership. Have called and even been in and am still being charged. Have consistently been overcharged aswell.
Fantastic experience: A magnificent gym sitting at the heart of Adelaide CBD, very friendly and pleasant team and manager, who genuinely care and pay attention to each one of the members. Elegant building with tall ceilings and under great management, things are always clean and neat. Lots of loyal members over 15 years, everybody is polite and lovely. Plenty of options to explore. The facility allows you to pace yourself while delving into various fitness pursuits. The overall vibe is fantastic, making it a place where you can concentrate on elevating yourself to the best version. Would highly recommend.
Negative experience: They can't solve a simple issue with changing the payment date and don't provide an easily accessible email to contact higher-level managers of the units. If you have a complaint about a unit manager, there's no one to talk to about it... it's awful the disorganization, and for the price and structure offered, it's worth looking for other gyms.

Negative experience: the sana is allways cold and the lif leads to the mens changeing room and if your a woman you have to go down a big flight of stairs eaverytime and there a no lockers on the frst floor so good luck if your a woman and you have problems climeing stairs
Negative experience: Not very happy with this gym. Went in 3 months ago to get the 5 day trial only to find out 3 months later that I'm close to debt collection because one moronic staff member didn't listen when I said I only wanted the 5 day trial as I am unemployed and without any way of paying. So I thought I'd just give it a try and see how it is. And here we are. 3 months later having threats from debt collection because someone couldn't listen to a simple request. Then when I went to call the customer service line to discuss why I have only heard about this now and not sooner, NO ONE ANSWERS THE CALL!!!!
Fantastic experience: Had my first PT session with Simon and it was a great experience for me getting back to try and lose weight and become healthy and fit would definitely recommend going to this gym
Negative experience: DO NOT Enter their membership for month or year!! Goodlife took my money as normal during COVID-19 event, even though the staff know imma not in Australia and the travel ban during COVID-19. Not friendly to international non-local person.
Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend it i cancelled my gym membership about a month ago from today and good life health club was still taking money out of my account, around 70 dollars I've given good life a call and they have told me that i had overdue payments confusing right? i have overdue payments from being inactive to good life because i have a cancelled membership Don't let good life take your hard earned cash from you
Negative experience: Why is this gym so expensive? No one re-racks weights, or wipes down equipment (partially due to there being no wipes anymore), people sit on equipment for ages which wouldn't be a problem if there was more equipment.. but equipment is often missing or broken. speakers broken, tvs don't work, toilets and change rooms dirty.
Positive experience: Cool building and good equipment, however I had a bad experience with one of the PTs. I was promised a call back to reschedule with someone else and that fell through, as well. However, I enjoy the gym and the classes.
Fantastic experience: Goodlife Gym in Adelaide city is a fantastic fitness center that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great workout experience. This gym offers a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, as well as a team of friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always ready to assist and guide you towards your fitness goals
Negative experience: I would give 0 if I could. Found out they have been charging me a few months after I cancelled my membership. Requested for refund but got nothing. I contacted them multiple times all I received is “someone will contact you soon”. Don’t feel safe with them having my bank account.
Negative experience: Im still going to this gym however I dislike how they are not good with direct debit. Toilets are dirty and stinky - have advised manager to hire better cleaning team I have not seen any improvement . If it wasn’t because of convienient location I would never go here. Advice for management team: dont focus on sales, focus on boosting retention customer & loyalty. Besides good customer service, you know how?! YOU SHOULD ESTABLISH TRUST
Negative experience: They are absolutely a bunch of scumbags who cannot do anything at all. They will kick you around and around if anything goes wrong. When sign you up they will hide the important information about the contract and pretend they don’t know much. If you don’t much, do your research and then be a representative. Never go with with them, just a home of endless scam.
Negative experience: I strongly don't recommend good life. Beware of the hidden terms and conditions which they won't tell when you are joining especially the free session. They are very much over money and many overdue payments will come across. I am an international student and earning each dollor with great difficulty. Even when I cancelled the membership, they didn't inform about the charging policies and overdue. They charged me 65$ even for 2 weeks which was told to be free for me for referring a friend. Don't let good life take your hard earned cash from you.
Fantastic experience: I was locked out of the gym for quite a while now as I can only come after hours because of my work schedule. I spoke to Jemma at the front desk and she was the most helpful staff I spoke to so far in Goodlife. The dude with long curly hair dude is cool too.
Positive experience: Ok so the gym is an old building and it could do with some TLC, but the fans in the 1st floor are never on. Why is the AC controlled externally? And there isn't enough paper towels and stations around... they could add another paper towel station on the first floor by main walkway and another on weights floor close to the squat racks. Also Wish other members would put the weights away after they've finished using the equipment, and there are several DB missing on weights floor. I know the ordering system is not as efficient as it could be and there are many creases up the ladder that need to be ironed out.
Negative experience: Would not recommend. I signed up originally not realising it wasn't a 24/7 gym, but cancelled under their cooling off period, which allows me to cancel within 7 days to receive a full refund. We're now 7 weeks down the track. They're still taking my money, and won't issue a refund (even though they agreed to do so originally as I cancelled in due time). I've followed-up 7 times: in person, via email, and via phone. I don't actually think they're malicious, I think it's just extremely unorganised.
Negative experience: This gym have gone downhill the last 8 years. First off, the gym is filthy. Never seen such a dirty gym and I work in gyms. Found a big clump of dust the length of a banana on the sauna bench. Gross. The toilets/bathrooms are disgusting. I think they don’t clean it for months on end as the same dirt/rubbish is on the floor week after week. Facilities are falling apart. Seems like everything is broken. Toilets broken, TP holders broken, taps broken, steam room broken again for the hundredth time even after complete renovation. Reception staff don’t even acknowledge you unlike cross road Goodlife, reception staff are so friendly and smiling. I only use this gym because it is large and has good variety of equipment and lots of space. I like the sauna too even if it’s really dirty. The boxing area is rubbish, only 1 bag now. The atmosphere is dead. They have hardly any members. The owners clearly don’t care about the gym and reputation. Probably don’t look after their staff either which is why most of them have left. I wouldn’t be surprised if this gym closes within a year. Such a shame. I’ve been a member for almost 10 years and this is the worst it’s ever been. I would have given 1 star, the extra star is just for the variety of equipment.
Fantastic experience: Like a tardis, it's bigger than you think with five floors of equipment and exercise class spaces. Plenty of spots available in the classes and on the equipment. I loved the sauna and steam room. The staff and personal trainers are professional and friendly. You don't need to be a gym god to come here. All shapes, sizes and ages will feel welcome here.
Positive experience: I have been going to weight training gyms for 40+ years and I found the gym to be fine. I also found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful. The weights gym users keep to themselves which suits me because I'm there to train not so much to make friends but I'm happy to talk to anyone. I would suggest giving this gym a go and if your not sure, sign up on a monthly agreement (which I did) and always ask for their best deal, I found them quite accommodating.
Negative experience: Fully not recommended, first of all they make you pay more than the plan chosen, when you unsubscribe be sure to receive an email because they will not reimburse you. At the gym they will say yes yes everything is fine, 4 month later still paying the bills even with couple of emails sent. This is not a professional place. Be careful
Positive experience: Take some advice from a member of Goodlife. The building itself is amazing great equipment, very big and spaced out. Plenty of equipment to use. The female bathrooms are new and looking fresh. Great boxing arena. With two boxing bags and gloves. Now this is the reason why I didn’t give 5 stars. Is because some of the staffs are rude they ignore you when your trying to create a conversation about anything. If your wanting to be friends with people from the gym don’t even bother because half of them are stuck up. All they care about is themselves and not how their Client is doing. Don’t even listen to half of the sales marketing, they aren’t even clear on it. Some receptionist are rude too, I was talking to one of them last night just to create a friendly conversation and I got straight yo ignored without a reason. I’m not gonna name who but my mum was wanting to join the gym and the gym created an appointment for my mum without even asking her. She was wanting to join but not be pressured to joining. I’ve found the receptionist are very pushy and that’s what I don’t like !!! The best trainer if you want to ask is Calvin, he is respectful and polite. I only go to the gym if those people aren’t there, otherwise, I’LL BE MOVING TO NORTH ADELAIDE. The amount of disrespect from the staff I got was ridiculous.
Negative experience: On behalf of my friend, I’m helping her to let everyone know this gym is really bad with direct debit. If anyone is thinking to sign a contract with this gym, please ensure to ask them to provide you a direct debit payment schedule. Many people have raised concern about how their payment wrongly get charged but their story is not to be heard or acknowledged by the management team. This is an act of fraud and it should be brought up to ombudsman. I will surely contact them to report. This type of report is crucially important for training, process change, and structured alterations within the company. When you do something wrong, don’t even think about refunding is a best option to resolve the issue because money is not everything . Its all about building trust and giving your customer the peace of mind. Trust are earned not given. Once trust are gone it’s gone.
Negative experience: Totally rip off. Think thoroughly before signing contract at this gym. Please ensure to check your gym payment every week in case they charge you twice. Speak up for yourself if payment are wrongly charged. Dont let them get richer on your hard earned money

Positive experience: If you work or live in the City, plenty of classes to choose from, especially in your lunch break. Perfect time to take that break from work. Early morning may be your thing, can smash out a workout before going to work. Huge gym packed with lots to do.
Negative experience: I am really disappointed about the staffs in goodlife city. At the first day i came to them, i have a voucher from groupdeal for 1 months, at the time I came the staff was keeping push me to join their membership with 4 weeks free after I finish my voucher. That mean They can’t charge me after next 8 weeks And after 4 week later, ther are keeling charge the fee. When I told them to check this problem, They all said the membership was start at the day I come and I lost my voucher for 1 month Be careful guys.
Negative experience: I hate goodlife so goddam much and I couldn't not recommend them more. I never went once and cancelled after a week of having a FLEXIBLE membership. its been 1 month and a half and they are still charging me. I have called countless times asking them stop charging me and even after they say they've suspended my account from being charged, not even a week and a half later I get charged again. I'm a high school student so I already don't make much money but twice now they've put my debit card in the negatives. Please listen to me and don't sign up, they are only after your money and nothing else.
Fantastic experience: Located in the heart of Adelaide, not too far from Victoria Square, it’s one of the bigger Goodlife Health Clubs around. If you’re looking for a super modern new facility with state of the art equipment, you might be disappointed, but hey, if you’re looking for a HUGE variety of equipment and are just wanting an awesome pump or workout (in a historical/architectural building), they’ve definitely got everything you need. The gym is split across multiple floors (see map breakdown in the photos) and everything is kept pretty neat and tidy. The photos should also help you work out if there’s something available for you. The staff were very friendly when I visited.

Fantastic experience: This Goodlife venue is the most classy I’ve seen so far. It’s located on CBD’s heart, very handy for a walk or public transport. Nice equipment. But I must say that my higher admiration is for the incredible historic building where it’s placed. A piece of architectural work, where you find comfortable and spacious areas, high ceilings, luminous, gorgeous! Women facilities are clean and with lots of showers and toilets. Friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: Had a good experience with one of their staff members who signed me up to a membership I was after, and taking advantage to their 28 days free promotion, and their Arena Fitness at selected gyms. He was also nice to taking me for a gym tour, showing me their classes. The gym is well kept, and clean, especially in a historic building dating back to 1860. Thank you.

Negative experience: Do not come to this Club. They called me every day to ask for renew contract and send me the emails offer the free time for the renew. Then they called me so many many time to ask for renew and when I confirm the time contract expire they again CHEATED me by saying that is error email send by the staff. Dave or David - Manager of the club told me on phone he did not know who’s send my the error information ℹ️ OMG they sent me email more than 3 times with the DAYS expired to keep ask me renew for my contract renew, offer me the free time on new contract ( when I’m still need to pay for my old contract. ) NOt make any sense like they tried to rip off customer money.

Negative experience: I called in Oct 2020 to cancel my membership and was advised that the payment would stop when the membership contact finished in Nov 2020. They would automatically draw the money out of my account only if I renew the contract. If I don't renew the contract the payment would stop after Nov 2020. Now Feb 2021, I check my bank transactions and the payments still have been drawn every month out of my bank till today Feb 2021. When I called, the payment company which is the third party does not have anything to do nor aware of that payment-stop rule above. They only stop if there is a Cancellation notification sent from Goodlife to them. So be aware of this scam-like. UPDATE: today I received an email from Goodlife to confirm my cancellation and would refund 3 months of membership they have over-withdrawn and would take 10 or 15 days to process. Hopefully I will receive my refund.
Fantastic experience: It's a good gym for general health and fitness. The social media announcements on the gym's FB page for changes are a good tool to inform members. This can be promoted more for better visibility. Keep at it and keep on improving.

Negative experience: they ripped me off and I never returned..told the consultant I didn't want to be locked in, and he said that was fine..come to end of membership the manager tells me, that wasn't the contract I signed up for and that I had to continue paying via automatic payments..Closed that bank account..
Positive experience: Quite worry about their WHS. The floor of the group class room is very slippery,cant stand stably when doing wide squats and lunges. Staff are very nice.
