EOD Allstars: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Took me in after my old gym closed and loved them ever since. I’ve always found happiness and joy at EOD and I’ve never been too upset or stressed while I’m there. Everyone was so welcoming and I can’t wait to continue my journey!
Fantastic experience: We relocated to the Hunter 18 months ago and high on our priority list was a new cheer home for our daughter. So grateful we chose EOD. From the 1st tryout till now my daughter has felt at home!!
Negative experience: I’m deeply disturbed by how this organization handles serious concerns about the safety and well-being of children. When I brought up the use of a highly sexualized song in a performance involving children, my concerns were completely dismissed. The song in question explicitly references sexual acts and is inappropriate in any context with minors. Their response? They essentially said, ‘Kids are already listening to it anyway,’ which is not only tone-deaf but also shows a complete lack of responsibility. Given the well-documented issues of oversexualization and abuse in cheerleading, this dismissive attitude is absolutely unacceptable. Organizations working with children have a duty to set higher standards and create a safe, respectful environment. Instead, EOD Allstars seems to prioritize excuses over accountability. Parents, please think twice before trusting this organization with your children. Their unwillingness to reflect on these concerns raises serious questions about their priorities. Protecting kids should always come first, and unfortunately, that’s not what I see here, especially after looking at the rest of these reviews.
Negative experience: I saw messages from the coach to a child where the coach delegitimised the child’s actual lived experiences, told her they didn’t happen and repeatedly and forcefully insisted the child remove social media content (which was to a closed audience and didn’t actually name the gym or individuals). The coach suggested the child having discussed on her private social media the damaging behaviour she experienced was actually the child doing the bullying. This conduct by the coach towards a distressed minor gym client in private messaging is what will contribute to the gyms reputation, not the child’s private social media content.
Negative experience: If you want to get bullied and develop mental health issues this is the perfect gym for you!
Negative experience: since O stars isn't possible, I give them a 1. I went in for a flying class as a new cheerleader and i could tell that I was getting dirty looks and giggling from behind me. I know this talk was about me as I heard my name repeated a few times as this was happening. I left in tears never feeling worse about myself. This seems to be a very toxic environment and I wouldn't recommend to anybody.
Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend this gym to my worst enemy.
Negative experience: We left the gym due to the toxic environment. I’m expecting a backlash of passive aggressive responses from coach Alissa (who is not to contact my underage daughter directly or through gym members ever again) and a flurry of positive reviews to drown this one. Alissa always took an “I’m an empathetic person but let me tell you why you’re wrong and why this is your fault” approach in a Lord of the Flies environment. It was not the experience we were hoping for. My daughter turned into a different person at this gym and since leaving has regained her perspective and positivity. After we left they spied on my daughters social media through fake accounts impersonating my daughters close friends. They then shared screenshots of her content back to Alissa, who forwarded them to my 15yo with long passive aggressive messages about cyber bullying (effectively cyber bullying my daughter). The content in question, shared with a small group of private friends, said how happier she was since leaving and how much she understood her mental health had been impacted and not to stay anywhere this happens. It did not mention EOD and was not public. Alissa condoned and rewarded this behaviour and used it to harass my daughter after we had left her gym. As a country and society we are trying to leave toxic sports cultures behind. EOD needs to revisit any coaching training or get some (Alissa avoided responding to my requests for coach qualifications).
Negative experience: If you want a gym with a win at all costs mentality, this is the place for you. If you want your children to develop mental and physical health issues due to excessive training and pressure put on their young shoulders, this is the place for you. If you want cheerleading to control your entire life (training above all else including school and family activities) then this is the place for you.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and great prices. The instructors are very helpful and patient with all the kids in the classes. Would recommend if you are considering enrolling your kids in.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant choreography and gorgeous outfits
