The Valley Gym

Negative experience: Female owner is very nice however male owner is quite odd and made me feel very uncomfortable. There is no water refilling station, so if you need water you have to use the bathroom taps which is quite strange. The gym gets quite hot and there is a rule in this gym that states no crop tops however it does not state that men cannot take their shirts off which is also odd.

Fantastic experience: The valley gym is astonishing, though I wish there were free water refilling tank/station and an AC…it would definitely improve the gym and enhance the training experience.

Negative experience: The gym itself has a good amount of equipment for the space and is clean. However, had an interesting experience with a man who I believe to be the owner/manager(?) regarding dress code. Not once was I made aware of the fact it is unacceptable to train in a midriff top (not when signing up, no signage in the gym). The fact that there is a dress code is fine, but the conversation the owner had with me following was not appropriate in my opinion. People should be made aware of this prior to training to avoid unintentional rule breaking. Distasteful commentary on what women should and shouldn't be wearing, how it is inappropriate and how people won't be able to control their staring. As I said, it is fine there is a dress code, but a simple reminder of the rules and that's where the conversation should've ended. Personally, don't feel comfortable training here after this conversation.

Fantastic experience: Great find. All the equipment, none of the crowds. Clean shower facilities, friendly owner. Has everything except air conditioning, so go early on hot days!
