Fantastic experience: Nice place for kids or adults to train in hapkido or brazilian jiu jitsu. Kind and knowledgable instructors and a nice facility with a large mat and large overhead fan.

Fantastic experience: The best school I have trained at in 40 years of martial arts. Great adults program, great kids program. Hapkido is a very well rounded martial art with an answer for any physical confrontation in these uncertain times. You are never too old, the school caters for all ages with a teen competitive sparring team and BJJ for all ages. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.

Fantastic experience: ASD has such an amazing group of people; instructors, students, and the families involved with the school. I would recommend anyone of any age to at least trial this amazing club to give yourself the opportunity to see what you are missing out on. I have personally learnt so many amazing life skills and joining made me who i am today. I was 8 when i joined and being a student here for over 10 years has really shaped me mentally and physically into the person i want to be.

Fantastic experience: Friendly school with a great mat culture and very welcoming to new people. Has some excellent senior people and a nice mix of solid fundamentals classes and more advanced classes.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful instructors. My son has been with them since the age of 5. Travis and Sir Tony have been very supportive of my son's development both physically and mentally over all these years. I hope he we continue with his commitment through to his eventual black belt.

Fantastic experience: Redback BJJ is a fantastic club. I've been training there for about 18 months. The teachers are very knowledgeable, teach clearly and have the best interests of the students at heart. They also have developed a great club ethos where everyone supports each other in their growth as a BJJ practitioner. It's a welcoming place that I feel lucky to have found.

Fantastic experience: I had never participated in full-contact sport before I started bjj at Redback. The instructors are phenomenal teachers, both in technique and engagement. The other guys are superb to train with, friendly on and off the mat, and are eager to build up my and other people’s capabilities. Overall I find Redback a very supportive and inclusive club.

Fantastic experience: Redback is an outstanding school, particularly for those considering bjj for the first time. Right from the start the instructors and fellow students have been highly professional, welcoming and encouraging. The school has an excellent culture - huge emphasis on being inclusive and a high priority on safety. Plenty of class timings are available and the instructors equally accommodate those who can only train a couple of times a week and those who want to invest heavily. Excellent facilities that are convenient for those on the north side and plenty of parking. Highly recommended for all skill levels, but particularly those starting out in bjj.

Fantastic experience: Been training for about 6 months and have loved every minute. I mainly train in the mornings but have been to evenings as well. Regardless of when you train the instruction is excellent and the students are very welcoming too.Classes aren’t too big and adequate attention is given to each student. There’s no ego or showboating here so you’ll be comfortable throughout your journey and build some solid friendships along the way.

Fantastic experience: An excellent school for both kids and adults! We went from planning to go a few times a week with the kids wanting to go almost every night as the instructors are exceptional. The club is very welcoming for beginners (we were all first timers) and I've also gone from never doing a martial art to absolutely loving it which is all down to the people there.

Fantastic experience: A great school for everyone, its own martial arts community. After living and training in most states in Australia I would have to say the ASD is the best school I have been to. Excellent culture, up to date training methods and the maintenance of high standards set this school apart from all others. From the moment you walk in the door you will feel at home. A friendly and professional school that has an excellent children's Hapkido and BJJ program, Adult Hapkido and BJJ, and Filipino arts. It is no fluke that the school is affiliated with some of the greats of the Australian Martial Arts community including Maestro Ray Floro, Professor John Will and Master Fari.

Fantastic experience: I trained with Trav and the team over 14 years ago. After returning to Canberra after a twelve year break I had no hesitation with enrolling my daughter in his school. The values and skills being taught here are values and skills for life. They help you and your family to be safe, valued members of the community. I recommend this school to everyone.
