CorePlus Geelong - Pilates Yoga Reformer

Fantastic experience: I have been coming for 4 years now and never want to stop! I love that I feel like I do a different session every single time - always keeping it interesting and fun! A few instructors have the best playlists too!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely in love with Coreplus Geelong! The moment I walked in, I was blown away by how clean and modern the place is, the reformer beds and mats are amazing, the whole atmosphere is incredibly inviting and aesthetic and all the staff are lovely. There’s also a variety of reformer classes. The price might seem a bit steep (every reformer business is), but it's worth it for the experience you get. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Such a beautiful space. I’m a member at Torquay and I’m obsessed. In November I was in Waurn Ponds for a few nights for a uni course, and was lucky enough to do a few classes at Geelong. To walk into such a peaceful space and be greeted by instructors I recognized was such a nice surprise also. If you’re after a variety of hot mat and reformer classes in beautiful surroundings that allow you to have 45 minutes of time just for you, then head here!

Negative experience: I have been a member of CorePlus Malvern East (the OG), Brighton and Prahran and sadly now Geelong. I say sadly because it pales in comparison in terms of class offerings, facilities, communication, location and cleanliness. Since November, I have been working out alongside a dead cockroach in the reformer room and he was the yardstick for the cleanliness of the reformer room. His place of rest was surrounded by dirt and dust bunnies that occasionally got swept away, but his crumbling exoskeleton endured. I wish I had a photo of it, but alas Geelong have a strict* no phone in the mat and reformer rooms policy, which I respect. *It's strict depending who you are, some instructors have allowed participants to film themselves participating in class to feed into the attention economy we are all subjected to. In terms of communication... Well... It's non-existent. At the Melbourne studios, emails were responded to same business or next business day. At Geelong, I might have been more successful in asking my question to the dead cockroach and I would have received a more lively and immediate response. In terms of classes, it's a lot of Mat Pilates, 6 yoga classes a week and a smattering of reformer classes. There isn't a lot of variation to the timetable and no 5am classes. The people of Geelong love a sleep in. The instructors here have the strongest shoulders - they are singlehandedly carrying the weight of this franchise. They are the true drawcard. They present welcoming and inclusive and program smart and challenging classes, providing modifications along the way. As for the location, yeah, no good. Parking is in the early morning and weekends but awful during the late morning and peak times. And if there is an event at the stadium across the road... Non-existent. Facilities are lacking and equally as unclean as the studio rooms. Mouldy showers look like they're culturing penicillin, so you can have your antibiotics at the same time as your black mould exposure. Genius.

Fantastic experience: Love this studio. I did the month intro for mat and reformer. Have been able to try the variety of classes from yoga to reformer to the Cardio Strength hot Pilates (a definite workout). The instructors are all great and have been helpful in given advice to improve my posture or modify if needed. My favorite has to be Gabi with strength reformer but enjoy all the classes.

Fantastic experience: I love this space so much. The instructors are friendly and welcome the space is cosy and the work outs will leave you feeling strong and energised.

Fantastic experience: Amazing instructors The classes are intense but safe I joined two years ago, after a bad accident. I started in reformer which was extremely helpful especially with my knees and this class helped me to go back to exercising but without forcing my knees or aggravating my condition so it was great! But once I started in the hot room...I never went back! It's become my "me" time and couldn't love it more even if I tried...

Negative experience: Not the best place for hot yoga and Pilate classes and customer service is poor. I bought a package and when I called them for inquiry no one picked up the phone, hence I had to physically go into the store and ask. Generally speaking the staff are not as friendly and always chatting to each other, they made the customers wait to be acknowledged. I attended a few classes and some instructors didn’t explain clearly, which made the people in the room feel very confused. The instructor then had to finally lie down on the mat and demonstrate in front of the class instead of just using their words to give out instructions which was covered by relatively loud background music. The cancellation policy is stated on the system however they don’t accept exceptional cases such as emergency due to work or personal issues. I would say there’s a lot more better places for Pilates and yoga so think twice before you give this studio a chance. I personally won’t go back again for the poor customer service I received as well as some not so well-trained instructors.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend reformer Pilates at Coreplus Geelong. I went to a class with 3 friends and Gabi the instructor was extremely good. She was super welcoming when we arrived and assisted all of us with modifications to exercises as we were all beginners. Great vibe and all round experience with this studio.

Negative experience: I signed up for a 12 pack class in Geelong between covid lock downs to support the business during the hard times of covid. I knew I was moving to Melbourne in the next couple of months and the staff member signing me up specifically said the classes were transferable to the Melbourne franchises. She also said there was no expiry. So silly me didn’t think it was necessary to check the terms and conditions regarding this as I had been verbally told what I needed to know. I then moved to Melbourne and went in and out of further lock downs and was trapped in Melbourne city. Now I am ready to use the classes in Melbourne (which I didn’t hurry to do because of what I was told) I was told by a Melbourne branch that the classes are transferable but I need to speak with Geelong to access them as they have disappeared from my account. In contacting the Geelong contact via the app I was told that the classes aren’t transferable and have expired. So despite having my $200 she offered me no compensation or lenience for the misleading information given by her staff. During the lockdowns and stressful times they could not even extend the expiry. They just took my money and gave no service in return. To me this doesn’t seem just. At Geelong the facilities were clean, the yoga classes were good but I attended a Pilates class in the hot room where the participants were actually scared to leave the room due to the bossy instructor who tried to prevent people from leaving the hot room when they are feeling faint from the exertion. I wouldn’t recommend this centre. They don’t offer mat classes in a non-heater room. They have some scary teachers and they can’t fix the mistakes their poorly trained staff make. They’ll take your money regardless of your capacity to use their services. Not recommended Addition: After reading the above review and talking with headquarters the manager offered me a refund after all. She didn’t believe me that I was told my classes were transferable and she was rude. At least they were willing to be fair.

Fantastic experience: I've had the pleasure of attending many classes at Coreplus Geelong over the last 12 months. Always kept to the highest standard and all the staff incredible helpful. "Hot strength" is my personal favorite class and can't recommend highly enough.

Fantastic experience: This space is absolutely beautiful, from the moment you walk into the foyer you feel calmness and freedom from the outside world. The staff are amazing and so helpful, I started as a beginner after having a baby and have come so far in my Pilates journey, it’s become part of my life. Thank you to Emma and the Team for giving me the “me” time.

Fantastic experience: Wow what a workout! My legs were sore the next day (signs of a good workout, right). Staff were welcoming and offered alternative positions and advice if it got too tricky or if I wanted to make it abit more challenging. This is the 4th reformer studio I have tried (from Perth) and would highly recommend, can tell they love what they do!
