Negative experience: Worst music and customer service in the NT. RAP music blaring at 8.00am sunday morning - super expensive amd whilst i dont mind old equipment - the customer service 1/10

Fantastic experience: Should come and join their classess. The best part of the ymca it is kids friendly. By this I mean that kids can join with their parents in exercise which is zumba. They can dance with us and we don't pay for the kids. Unlimited entry for the kids. So it is a win win parents can't whinge and we don't have to find the baby sitter. The instructors are also nice and wonderful. Apart from fitness they have fitness program for young ones. They also have energy and protein drinks. Fitness center which carers for every individual needs and wants. If you come to katherine join t eh ymca

Negative experience: I am new to Katherine. I got a six month’s gym membership at YMCA two weeks ago. The lady told me when I got the membership that I do not need to pay for 24/7 access if I go during the staffed hours. When I checked online, the staffed hours on Saturday is 8am-3pm. I went there around 12.45 pm today which is Saturday. There were two staff inside.I tried knocking on the door. No one opened. I called the gym, no one picked up. I waited for someone to come and went in after the other person . The lady and an elderly man were at the reception. The lady asked me if I swiped my key card at the door. I told her I came during the staffed hour as indicated on the website and that I had six months’ membership. She told me she doesn’t care what’s on the website. She knocked off already at 12 and I have breached the law. She didn’t change it to 24/7 access. What a racist person? She kept arguing with me and kicked me out of the gym. They call it 24/7 and you need to pay $30 for this anytime access. I have never seen this anywhere else. Because of racist person like her, I do not plan to stay for long in Katherine. I am Senior Maths/ Robotics teacher at SJCC and STEM teachers like me are really difficult to find and they are reluctant to come to rural parts of Australia. This is second bitter racist incident that happened to me in my only three weeks of stay in Katherine. I don’t know how long will I stay in a Katherine.

Positive experience: A surprise for Katherine. Relatively new equipment and clean facilities.

Positive experience: One very rude old lady but everything else was wonderful

Negative experience: We got one week pass to use the gym while we were there. Positive: they have gym classes Negative 1. Very stuffy, I couldn't do much work out as I couldn't breathe 2. Showers are not clean. They did not clean the shower or toilets for the 3 times I went there. Same hair was on the wall every time , picture attached 3. They call it 24/7 but you can only enter staff hours or you need to pay additional $30 per person for key. 4.Equipment are ok but not great. No 20kg bar dambell

Fantastic experience: Great variety of classes and friendly professional staff

Positive experience: Good gym, well equip. Good atmosphere but the *bring your towel to clean equipments" is a little excessive. Might as well go back to the paper towel idea. Were not using plastic straws anymore, were neck - deep in global warming. What's a paper towel gonna that we haven't done already.

Negative experience: 24/7 access barely ever works, so if you can only go to the gym after ours I wouldn’t bother with this gym.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with plenty of equipment well laid out for a hassle free workout, $13 for a casual visit and staff are helpful. The gym is clean and the ammenities are in good order. No complaints and will visit again when in town.

Fantastic experience: I use this gym when I am visiting Katherine and have always found the staff to be very professional and friendly. Today I was assisted by two different staff who were a great help, very friendly. Facilities are good and I enjoy doing their classes.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with friendly and helpful staff. The gym is well equipped and has a good range of equipment. Staffed hours have changed and they are open until 6am weekdays.
