Anytime Fitness Hervey Bay

Negative experience: Terrible place, takes advantage of young people who don't understand what they are signing up for. No chance of backing out if circumstances change. Even after a final agreed payout amount was made to cancel, a payment came out a few days later and they wouldn't refund it,as they said the system just did that automatically and they had no control of it. Very poor.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym!! I am usually not a big fan of franchises, but this Anytime Fitness truly is a great gym, from the friendly staff always ready to help, to the people that attend it! The equipment is new, there’s everything you need for a good workout, it’s super clean and it’s never packed of people, always a plus (not even at peak hours). Definitely recommended

Fantastic experience: The best gym in the bay, I’ve been at anytime since they opened their doors again for the second time and I couldn't be happier with my experience so far! From the moment I stepped through the doors, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. Anytime Fitness has exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer or just starting out, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It’s a fantastic spot for anyone looking to prioritize their health and fitness!

Fantastic experience: I had joined this gym as I was looking for a place where I could do pregnancy friendly exercises and keep up my fitness. The staff members were incredibly helpful, especially their personal trainer Alicia; who showed me which machines I could use throughout pregnancy and how I could keep up my fitness. Their facilities are incredibly well kept and clean and I don't feel overwhelmed walking into the gym.

Negative experience: I wasn't going to write a review until I received a generic marketing email from Hervey Bay Anytime Fitness this afternoon - transactional customers... I was with Anytime Fitness for ~12 years and discovered at the start of this year, that when I relocated from Brisbane to Hervey Bay in December 2023, Hervey Bay Anytime Fitness increased my fees without letting me know that the fee was increased. Eventually after I chased up my original contract, I found that they were in breach and I was refunded the difference which I am grateful for. Jake blamed the previous manager for not advising me in the text or email that they had sent me. I also had to provide this information and evidence, including chasing up my original contract (would recommend customer service at Hervey Bay Mt Clear in Victoria). The original statement was that they reserve the right to adjust their pricing (they do) as long as they notify you of the change prior to it occuring - which they claimed that they had. They didn't, but couldn't provide evidence themselves, I had to do the chasing, and only after that, did they process a refund. As per the attached screenshot, you can also see that the club manager has given himself a good review, which I do not agree with and I believe that this is in breach of the google review policy, however it's already been made clear that they don't operate to policy unless they get caught. The gym itself is okay, good range of equipment and good facilities (thus 2 stars), but unfortunately the customer experience is predatory and not worth it. I am now happier at a local gym where I pay more, but the customer experience has been far nicer and not transactional. Good to visit, but if you live in Hervey Bay and value customer experience, then I would highly recommend going elsewhere.

Negative experience: Incompetent canceled membership last year paid what I thought was the cancellation fees.and staff failed to cancel it Only Find to find out they were still taking money. Contacted them and was told to bad you need to pay cancellation fee again as of now. Very disappointed would not recommend Hervey Bay fitness.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Staff are always happy. They have an excellent range of equipment and the whole place is kept spotless. They are a great example for other AF gyms to follow

Fantastic experience: Good gym with lots of space and not too busy. They offer a casual visit for $20 a day which is very convenient for someone that’s visiting for the week. There were also short-term membership options including one week memberships. I recommend this for anyone visiting in town for a short term stay.

Negative experience: Poor customer service, can't get through phoned 3 times and other family tried also. Won't accept cancellation via sms or call. No return calls

Fantastic experience: Small gym, but absolutely amazing and the cleanliness was top tier. I’m from out of town and would go to this gym over my home town gym 9/10 times. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I travel a lot for work and had tried many gyms and Anytimes and this has to be one of my favourites, the gym is super clean, the staff are very friendly and the equipment is very well kept. Although the gym itself is on the smaller side having the extra space that opens up when no classes are on makes an excellent area to warm up and down

Fantastic experience: Best gym in the bay by a mile. The manager Tash and her team are super welcoming and supportive of the local community make everyone feel welcome and help everyone achieve there goals. Staff like that make the gym so much more than a gym. Equipment is allways clean and tidy and plenty of functional floor room

Fantastic experience: Small but great!! Have been to many other AF gyms plus some large private gyms. Left my fob at home (16h drive away), called gym, staff were friendly and accommodating. New equipment that is kept very clean. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Negative experience: Sent a message on messenger, got no response, called the number on the website, got no response. I don’t live in town to be running around after a business who can’t respond to messages nor phone calls.

Fantastic experience: A little more expensive than some gym's, but it's worth it. Comes with all the latest equipment, led ambient lighting (mostly at night), jukebox, and fully air conditioned with mounted large fans.
