Negative experience: Very bad experience with Melton Waves. Enrolled both my sons for swimming lessons and due to personal reasons I had to stop there classes in March 2025.Despite serving the notice they continued charging me and finally after many follow-ups they stopped . However they still owe me the amount they overcharged me and I have been following up since then and what I get is just false promises. Please think twice before enrolling with them. I have just given up on them .

Fantastic experience: Great place however there appears to be to many lady's and young lady's in the men's changing rooms on a regular basis at any time of day perhaps there is additional signage needed or signs in appropriate languages to point them in the right direction

Negative experience: Haven’t been here in about 16 years, thought I’d bring my daughter today for the first time. The whole place needs a revamp, very depressing and dirty environment. As soon as we got there a child was vomiting in the wave pool, we got out and went to the baby pool instead, the same child then came over there and was gagging into the baby pool as well. Visit was short lived and honestly just wanted to get out due to how dirty it was.

Fantastic experience: We left Melton Wave in 2019 because of issues with mis-management and poor service. However, under new management, everything has significantly improved. The swim teachers are of high quality, the pool maintenance is excellent, and customer service has also seen remarkable improvements. Give it another chance—you might be pleasantly surprised!

Fantastic experience: We recently held our Primary School Swimming Carnival at Melton Waves for the first time. So happy to say how amazing the day turned out. Jackson and the team were so accommodating, looking after us before and during our swimming carnival. Everything ran smoothly, and the venue not only met our needs but truly exceeded our expectations. The only improvement would be the addition of an outdoor change facility. But hey, some things are just not within our control! Overall, fantastic. :)

Negative experience: Poor business pratice! A school swimming carnival is booked in but the canteen is unavailable to the school and the parents from purchasing any food items! How ridiculous!!!!

Negative experience: Had my daughter’s birthday party there today, booked a party package. Had a missed call from Jack Thursday to confirm details, I returned his call that same afternoon but left a message with someone for him to return my call, never called me back. I needed to confirm some details, therefore I continued to call Friday, Saturday and Sunday (morning of party), called out and left voicemails which were never returned. I arrived at the party and because I hadn’t confirmed or spoken with anyone prior, the manager allowed me to only have the fried food platter for the adults. I had an ice-cream cake, which they stored for me, but cake time.. they left the box on the party table with the knife, lighter, bowls and spoons but no plate to put the cake on. Had to improvise and do my best at serving. Had the ice-cream cake on napkins on the table! I only got the included party bags after the party once I asked for them. Positive side, the kids had the bestest time with their party host Wayne. He was absolutely amazing!!! They loved playing with him. He was so funny and playful with the kids. He would be the only reason I’d have another party there!! Legend! Wayne gets

Positive experience: Not the most modern pool facility. However, good for a dip when you’re in need of entertainment for kids on a hot day. Staff are friendly and always welcoming and helpful. Customer service is a 5 star rating.

Negative experience: Had the worst experience got to melton waves and then got told both my kids classes were canceled so angry the right way to do it is call at least 30mins prior to our kids lesson !!! It’s been done before I don’t understand why it couldn’t be done today not happy also each week teachers are not consistent which is very frustrating!!!!

Negative experience: I've had a disastrous experience with Melton Waves Leisure Centre and I'm compelled to warn others about their substandard customer service. I've tried repeatedly to contact them via phone, but unfortunately, they never answer. When I did try emailing them, I was met with a snobbish response From Mr. Jackson Eekelschot, the Facility Manager. Not only did he respond rudely, but he also completely ignored my emails when I asked for assistance or clarification. To add insult to injury, when they finally bothered to respond with a quote for services, I was shocked to find that their prices are extortionate! It's clear that they prioritize profits over providing a good customer experience. As a result, I would strongly advise against visiting Melton Waves Leisure Centre. Their lack of communication, unresponsive management, and exorbitant prices make them a complete waste of time and money. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere for your leisure needs. UPDATE: I'd love to see the management at Melton Waves Leisure Centre take responsibility for their poor service and make amends. Until then, I'll make sure to spread the word about their appalling attitude and prices.

Negative experience: Very bad supervisor of lifeguard just standing and playing with ball They must need to revisit the risk management plan. As many times only one lifeguard for whole place which is very dangerous in the case of emergency It’s only a feed back so they can improve the quality of supervision

Negative experience: Arrived at 1:30pm today and was there for less than an hour by the time we got staff to help us sort out the problem with the locker situation, we barely had a swim. To top it off, someone vomited in the wave pool and not long before that we had JUST gotten in there then everyone got kicked out by staff because of the vomit but wasn’t told why we were all kicked out which was a little frightening, only found out the reason why from overhearing someone saying that. We asked staff for a refund because we hadn’t been there that long to experience the waves and they got a bit rude saying it wasn’t their fault which I never said it was, I and also they said they couldn’t alert everyone but the staff member at the time yelled out for everyone to get out so they could’ve told us the reason why as well. I just said we felt like we hadn’t had the full experience and then the staff member who was supposedly the manager got another manager to come talk to us and was like “so what’s the problem?” And slouched down with her elbows on the desk when she clearly had been told what the problem was but she continued to say the pool will be back open in 10mins but as I told her other manager, we had gotten changed out of our swimmers and had already been waiting and out of the pool for 30mins since being kicked out. All the pools had bits of food in them and grass. The toilet floors were dirty as well. I haven’t been here since I was a child myself so I brought my child there today and it just wasn’t how I remember it. I won’t be coming back.

Fantastic experience: I came here on the 21st of December, and the spa was just so comfortable, you won't understand just how comfortable it is until you've been in there. I'm slightly disappointed that there is no waterslide, but other than that, it's brilliant. Who needs a massage therapist when you could just come here?

Negative experience: Very overpriced for what it is! I was there with my 3yo today and the wave pool was not on, the rapids closed, there was a dirty nappy in the shower and hot chips floating in the pool. And not even a cheap $5 noodle provided for the children to play with. For two of us at $16!!!! That’s very poor. We won’t be back!

Negative experience: Be cautious before enrolling your kids in their swim classes. Their online portal is poorly designed and far from user-friendly, making it frustrating and time-consuming to navigate. While the company heavily relies on the portal for managing class schedules, any mistake you make (inevitable given the confusing setup) will leave you stranded. Their team has limited to no access to fix issues on the back end, so don’t expect much help if something goes wrong. That said, they are well-versed in their policies and will enthusiastically refer you to them, even if it doesn’t solve your problem. Overall, a disappointing and dissatisfying experience that’s cost me more than it should have.
Negative experience: I recently had a terrible experience at the pools. I was in the gym section wearing open toe shoes, not aware of the rule against them. However, rather than politely informing me of the policy, a worker approached me in a very rude and sarcastic manner, speaking to me in an aggressive tone that was completely unnecessary. His behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable, and it ruined my workout experience. I strongly advise others to avoid this place due to the poor customer service and rude staff.
Negative experience: I’ve been going here for a while with no issues, but today I had issues at the canteen where the canteen lady was chatting to her co workers while I’m standing there for 5-10 mins Which was absurd, even after glancing at me she continued her conversation. Chit chat should be for break times or when there’s no customers this is outrageous

Positive experience: Geat staff and facilities. The trainer guy is very helpful. One complain is no wifi in 2024!! In addition they don't get telstra network in their gym my playlist keeps stopping.

Negative experience: I swim there regularly but for the last two weeks the water in the 25m pool has been very cloudy which concerns me. What am I swimming in?! The lifeguards don’t know. I’m afraid I’m going to go swimming elsewhere for a while.
Negative experience: There was no notification or discount for the wave pool being broken on entry, which is the main attraction for this pool. Only found out after 1 hour and querying with front desk staff. Appreciate things break, but transparency before paying full charge should be provided, so parents can make a choice or at least manage children’s expectations.
Positive experience: I have gone to the pool on occasions its mostly empty weekdays, the waves come on every hour, and enjoyed swimming.

Fantastic experience: I’m a new aquatic member and I’ve just started swimming (if you can call it that at the moment!), most mornings for about 5 weeks, after years of no exercise. The staff whenever I’ve called to ask questions were super friendly and helpful, the staff in person are upbeat and enthusiastic even at 5am! The lifeguards and other users of the pools in the morning are friendly and supportive and always up to say hi or up for a quick chat. I love the environment. Special thanks to the Operations Manager Courtney who was really awesome on my first visit (and every other visit) as I was worried I might not be able to get out after not having been in a pool for 30 years. The gentle stairs in and out are great! As are the dedicated slow and social lanes for those just starting out. The pools are super clean and the change rooms are always fresh and clean. It really makes you want to go every morning. I’m loving it! The spa and hydrotherapy pool are great on the muscles too after a long hard swim. I can’t wait until I’m a bit fitter so I can take their DanceFit, Zumba & Body Balance classes! Thanks Melton Waves!

Fantastic experience: I have only used the pools which I find lovely. The locker rooms are clean. The staff is always cheerful and helpful. I have seen many birthday parties there and it is such an exquisite idea.
Negative experience: Wave pool ran infrequently on a Saturday morning. Was apparently meant to be every 30 minutes according to a life guard. Everything is old and grotty. Pool, toilets, floor.

Unfortunately, although we intend to run the wave pool each half hour cycle, this is dependent on the Lifeguard to Patron ratios to ensure the safety of all swimmers within the facility. Fantastic experience: Hi peeps the Melton waves is the way to go for fun fitness or lesure. I go each fortnight for hydrotherapy in the pool with my exercise physiologist. Fun but good exercise in water resistant of own body weight. The staff are really friendly they can answer any inquiries if u have any. Sorry no photos. Next hopefully can go to the gym I Ike to lose some weight. I’m so body conscious. And Melton waves hopefully can make me more active. It’s a great place to spend the day.

Fantastic experience: The swim school here is absolutely fantastic, my child has attended for a month and she has learned so much compared to her old swim school. She has more confidence in the water and the instructors focus on all children and not favourite certain ones! Highly recommend
Negative experience: The place has slowly deteriorated over the years. Rapid river has been decommissioned for years and years. Went there today and the water wasn't very warm, it used to be very well heated. I asked when the waves would come on, they said 20 min. They made an announcement they would come on, after 10 minutes of anticipation with the kids, the lifeguard said she didn't know the machine was broken. There is nothing else to entertain kids, the waterfall was not working either. No signage to tell customers the waves are not working. Misleading to charge customers without being transparent. It's called "Melton Waves". At least they plugged the disgusting peep-holes in all the changerooms I reported last time. I could do a more professional job myself though. Really not sure why we came back. WaterMarc or Brimbank Aquatic are heaps better.
Negative experience: The pools are cold, especially the 25 Metre pool, its ridiculously cold and its where they teach kids, how insane is that? They are making kids have to learn swimming from ages as low as 1 swim in freezing cold temperatures to the point your lips go BLUE! Not only that after swimming there for a few weeks im getting chemical burns all over my body. For the sake of your kids or yourself, dont come here

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff, young lady at reception carefully explained all our options for joining and costs, helped me fill in application and processed everything there and then. When we went to Waves for using facilities, reception guided us to where we should be, staff in the pool area made sure we were comfortable in our new environment, lifeguards on patrol for our safety. All the staff we have met were efficient, but not abrupt, caring for our welfare but allowing us freedom to do our thing. Definitely recommend this facility whatever your age.

Negative experience: Indoor pool is too hot for serious swim and a bit gross. Facility already has a huge spa bath, why make the lap pool one too?

Negative experience: What used to be a terrific place to come, has over the years become a tired and run down mess. Facilities are bare necessity, rapid river needs to be removed or used. Missing tiles in the pools. Underwater bubbles never used in wave pool. Above oyster ring that used to shoot water down removed. Cargo net never used. Tarzan rope barely used. These things should be available to the public especially on school holidays. The dust and mould across the air con system is disturbing. Place needs to be closed, cleaned and revamped.

Positive experience: I won’t give it 1 star because the facility is great and doesn’t deserve the rating due to the rudest staff member behind the cafe. I was friendly. I was kind. I didn’t take long and all I got was rude and arrogant attitude back. This was yesterday around lunch time. I ordered my daughter chips and purchased two tomato sauces (25 cents each) which I paid for. Patiently waited and wasn’t sooking about anything. Handed me the chips and I said can I please have the sauce she said I’d have to wait as she was serving someone else (sauce was right next to her) I patiently waited anyway.. she then asked me for 50 cents and I said I just paid for them and she checked the order and I was correct and she accused me of basically trying to free ball another 2 sauces and said “I know I would’ve given it to you when you ordered I always do” Yeah well Karen (unsure of her name) .. just to be clear you didn’t and you knew I wasn’t happy by the end and no apology for the misunderstanding just rude and abrupt and shoved the sauces in my hand. Made out like I was lying about bloody 50 cents worth of sauce. Be kind always. I have bad days to but I don’t take it out on you, even though you were the one with attitude!!! Otherwise centre is great!

Negative experience: I have been trying to cancel swimming lessons for almost a whole term and am still getting charge fortnightly payments. Do not sign up for these or you will be out of pocket hundreds of dollars before you can actually get them cancelled.
Negative experience: I have recently come back to Melton Waves after a few years to do some water exorcise classes and I was appalled at the condition of the women's change rooms, they are out of date and in desperate need of a makeover, the shower cubicles were disgusting and had clumps of women's hair and old tissues and things on the floor and it was just revolting, do you not have someone to go in and clean a couple times a day or at the very least hose down the shower walls and floors and sanitise, there is rust on the shower walls and it is overall just disgusting and felt so unclean that I chose to just try to get changed in there rather than having a shower which was not easy given that I had to try to avoid touching or standing on anything disgusting, Even the overall pool area felt unclean and there is mould on areas of the ceiling and areas where it looks like its about to fall down, not only is the entire complex unclean and unsanitary but it is also clearly unsafe, I don't foresee myself continuing to come to Melton Waves if there is no change.
Negative experience: Terrible. Turned up and there was a line out the door. Waited with my toddler and about 30 other people in the sun for 20 minutes with the line not moving at all. There was no explanation or communication from staff at all. Trash
Negative experience: Bought a swimming goggle with scratch and we are not satisfied with the product but they don't want to exchange it with another one. The reception people and the manager are not very considerate. Never buy swimmimg equipments here as the staff and manager don't respect consumer rights. It's my only experience in Australia that I'm not allowed to exchange what I just bought. better go to another indoor pool. super bad experience from their staff.
Negative experience: Went to the the melton wave pool today 16/12/23 and I think the place has not changed a bit for over 25 years and I hate to say it’s looking a bit run down I do believe this place needs a face lift.

Negative experience: Very quick and easy to set you up to take money via direct debit... but takes ages to get a refund once they incorrectly bill you.

Negative experience: I was asked to pay $3 as a spectator, no wondering why the place is so deserted compare to what used to be. Imagine to pay for 3-4 kids and you need to pay another $3 on top of it just to watch your kids, extra money on these hard times. My daughter is inside by herself as she needs 9 sessions of exercise for her knee injury; she’s had 2 sessions already and I was able to go inside without being asked to pay anything; she enjoys the pool very much and asked me to bring her down even after we finish the 10 session pass; I’m waiting for her to come out and see if she still wants to continue coming to the pool and stay inside by herself while I’m in the car waiting. So, no more business from me Melton Waves.
Fantastic experience: Pools are great, they're all indoor, they do have outdoor pools as well for summer, the wave pool is definitely a hit with the kids. The hot tub, sauna and spa are great for the adults. If you have children under 6 you will have to be within arms reach the entire time in the centre (an adult, not an older sibling). Which is a good safety requirement, the staff are onto it pretty quickly. Under 10 and you must have a line of sight consistently, so no walking of or conversing by the sidelines or playing on your phone. Facilities are great, they have lockers available and affordable, and a canteen for food. Great day out for the kids.

Negative experience: The worst gym I ever went to. I was humiliated today, a young team manager accused me of sneaking into the gym without paying. This girl personally check me in and later teamed up with her two male colleagues accusing me that I didn't pay for the gym. I'm still doing my research whether this is a city council matter or should I go direct to the consumer's affairs. How could they employ a group of unprofessional! I even asked them to print my receipt and they refused that they don't know what I'm talking about!!!! I'm so furious and disgusted MELTON WAVES don't deserve any star
Positive experience: Easy access, fun for the kids. Yeah it could do with a top to bottom thorough clean. But the staff on today are on the ball, friendly, and the facilities are in good order. Finches, yes, roaches, no. Plenty of tables & chairs, good hot espresso and standard fare food options. Lots of splash-free spaces for adults to sit back and still keep an eye on the wave pool.

Fantastic experience: I can't fault Melton Waves. I joined on a year membership in January of this year and the experience has been great! The staff are friendly, and the facilities are good. Some regular cleaning of the unisex family shower areas wouldn't hurt as in cleaning twice a day, but other than that I enjoy going there.

Negative experience: There isn't anyone in charge of Melton Wave at the moment. I got double charge fortnightly for no reason. No one able to fix it.

Negative experience: First time coming to a wave pool and there are no waves at all. No food besides hot chips and sandwiches and took the canteen staff q5 minutes to serve us. This place sucks.

Negative experience: Changing rooms are super dirty and they reek of urine. So far i visited many aquatic centres here in Victoria and this one feels like a place built for animals and not humans. Very dirty and stinky.
Negative experience: Too much chemicals in the pool. Everytime after swimming there my face is burning, this doesn't happen at any other public pool, please switch to a salt based chemical, or use less

Our team would like to reassure you that all our pools are regularly tested to ensure that all chemical levels remain within a safe range. As chemical levels can fluctuate we would greatly appreciate that should you have a similar experience within our pools in the future you communicate it with the team on duty who can follow this up ASAP.
Negative experience: Filthy experience. The staff seem to try their best to maintain the facility but the sheer amount of locals visiting the place will always prevent them from keeping the facility from passing any proper health and safety inspection.
Positive experience: I have seen huge improvements on this pool. 1- signs to take shower - I observed no one is obeying. Needs to be enforced. More signs on eye level in Chinese language and or other languages. Install sign in both spa entrances. I give 5 star to management. 2- pool water testing is much frequent and not much chemical. 3-the cashiers is happy and polite to people. 4- still lines to get in to pool at front desk. 5- showers head needs replacement - two not working in men’s 6- spa pool was much cleaner with no grime on walls. I give 5 star to mangement. 7- the bathrooms need to have cleaning and check list - schedule posted. Is Not there 8- a simple broom and dust pan must be provided to staff for picking floor rubbish and check bathroom for cleanliness. 9- Mangement needs to enforce cleaning by shoes mat - and showering before pool usage.

Positive experience: the pool/spas a great, need more healthy foods but the fruit salad amazing. its disappointing when mine and partners experience was ruined when a group of older ladies came in without the correct swim wear they wore normal clothes disgusted they should of been made to leave.

Negative experience: Really disappointed and angry! We rang yesterday and then again this morning to make sure they had a water wheelchair to use and that the wave pool was working! We were told on both days that, yes, there was a wheelchair for my son to use and that the wave pool was operational! We drove up from Geelong and there was no water wheelcahir to use and the wave pool wasn't working! Petrol is too expensive to waste like this!!! I am so upset!

Negative experience: Dirty. The whole centre was dirty. The pool was dirty. The toilets were disgusting. There was rubbish everywhere including food waste. We were promised the wave pool would operate but it didn’t. Honest waste of money. I couldn’t even put my head underwater because it was that disgusting in the water it probably would of caused an ear infection.
