Genesis Health and Fitness - Melton 24/7

Negative experience: Kylie at the front desk ( Sunday afternoon) was the rudest receptionist I’ve ever dealt with. No smile, no courtesy, just Attitude. First impressions matter and she gave the worst one possible. Terrible attitude for someone who’s supposed to represent the front . Completely unprofessional and left me questioning if I should ever come back.

Fantastic experience: I have not yet step foot at the gym yet I will be on Monday It was so easy To join Via their website and when I called them up for information, I’ve spoken to Alex she was so polite and wonderful She answered all my questions over the phone. I feel like I’m gonna benefit from this gym. I Honestly, cannot wait to start getting fit again and and build up my self-confidence. Thank you once again Alex for making The signup Progress so easy I look Forward to studying my gym, Journey once more the other gym I was out I felt I was not getting any benefit from.

Negative experience: Recently I visited Genesis Health and Fitness in Melton for the first time with my wife for aquatics. The lady at the front desk was amazing and we were given the session free of charge. However to our dismay the facility wasn't really accessibility friendly, except for the change rooms and shower cubicles, which had rubber matting to prevent slips and falls. The only way in and out of the pool were vertical ladders. This makes it very difficult for the elderly and disabled patrons to use the pool safely and avoid potential injury. There is also no spa which is important for helping patrons with disorders such as muscle or joint injures or common ailments such as arthritis. Prior to leaving I enquired about the cost of future visits to allow for a carer and concession card holder. The response was that they didn't cater for for carers and that we would have to pay the full concession price, for a casual visit, of $20 each. In addition when I asked about membership, the response was the same, that we would have to pay for 2 memberships as Genesis did not facilitate for carers. Pausing momentarily, I convey my dumbfoundedness at an unexpected response on a subject (accessibility) that is held in high regard in the local, state, federal and global communities at large. Surely this is bordering on discrimination and equal opportunity, by excluding patrons with disabilities that require the attendance of a carer.

Fantastic experience: At first, I thought the pricing was a little high, but once I saw everything they offer, it was completely worth it. The range of equipment is massive, the space is clean and well-maintained, and there’s something for every kind of workout — from weightlifting to cardio, group classes to functional training. What really makes Genesis Melton stand out though is the atmosphere. Everyone — staff and members — are friendly, supportive, and down-to-earth. It’s a welcoming environment where you actually feel motivated to show up and improve yourself. I’ve never felt judged here, only encouraged. The community vibe is amazing, and it honestly makes coming to the gym something I look forward to. If you’re thinking about joining, I highly recommend it. Lastly I want to mention Joe and Kate, who have been absolutely amazing — incredibly kind and supportive. Both taking time out of their day, without a charge to help me with my exercises and offer guidance. It’s clear they genuinely care about members and go out of their way to support anyone in need. Overall, if you are looking to give Genesis a try, give it a go! You may like it! There’s something for everyone, and everyone is welcomed regardless.

Fantastic experience: Genesis is nothing short of amazing. The staff are beyond incredible, always up for a good chat and friendly, offering amazing advice and support. They’re the backbone to this gym, and should receive the utmost amount of praise! The personal trainers here are just the same also, always offering their support and helping in any way they can! The equipment is fantastic also, always kept clean, in good condition and there’s quite a variety for anyone and everyone. Not to mention the upstairs areas and the pool, which is always clean and inviting for all members. All in all, this place is amazing. The staff are what make it incredible. But even the members that turn up for their workout make this place welcoming and inviting to all. Couldn’t recommend this place any more!! A massive thank you to all the Genesis staff, PT’s, and members for making this place as incredible as it is!

Fantastic experience: Great gym with an awesome variety of equipment and plenty of options for all fitness levels. I love their Pilates classes and the Coaching Zone sessions – the trainers are motivating and really know their stuff. Always a welcoming and well-maintained space!

Negative experience: I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel this needs to be said. I recently rejoined Genesis Melton and unfortunately had one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with a gym. From the beginning, communication was poor. I tried calling several times during my cooling-off period to cancel my membership—no one picked up, and when I visited the club in person, I was given unclear and inconsistent information about the cancellation process. Despite my efforts, I was still charged and told I now had to give 30 days’ notice and pay a cancellation fee. I even walked out mid-workout due to how stressful and disorganized the situation was. I was so disappointed that I decided not to transfer my membership to anyone else—I wouldn’t want someone else to go through what I did. What’s most disappointing is that instead of understanding my genuine frustration, the gym kept pointing to policies and contracts rather than acknowledging the service failures that caused this in the first place. For a returning member, this was incredibly disheartening. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision. Customer service should come first—especially in the fitness industry Adding proof of how many times you need to call to talk to them.

Fantastic experience: There is swim school too

Negative experience: i really liked this gym until i had to move away so called and asked to cancel my membership. whoever was working never recorded this and i kept getting payments of up to $150 taken out of my account, as well as the debit fee and the weekly membership fee. i am not a confrontational person at all, i work in customer service, but when it is numerous calls and emails expressing my dissatisfaction for this cancellation process, and i am told that it is my lack of funds that result in me getting charged four types of fees, i think it is worth looking into, eg 34.50 taken out of my account a week ago and a worker saying to me it’s the ‘joining fee’ despite already paying it. just finished my last ‘late payment’ after they have failed to communicate with each other the end date of my memberships, hoping to finally be down with the place. just overall very disappointing considering the 30 days of payment and cancellation fee i already had to pay.

Fantastic experience: This gym, hands DOWN, is the best I've ever been a part of. Even just basic subscription gets you access to so much. The staff are absolute gems, every single one. They're understanding when finances get messy and work with you for a solution. The pool is fantastic and the 24/7 access with staff on till 10pm really helps me feel safe here too. This gym is for all genders and walks of life. 10000/10. I'll still be going here even if I move ages away like it's worth it.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Genesis, including the reception team, swim instructors, personal trainers, and cleaners, are always professional, polite, and eager to assist. The reception staff, in particular, is consistently welcoming and friendly. I have been a long-time member and have never encountered any issues. The gym maintains high standards, with well-maintained training equipment and consistently clean and dry change rooms and showers. I am leaving this review today to express my appreciation for Charmaine. I reached out to her regarding my health concerns and sought guidance on whether to put my membership on hold or cancel it. She listened patiently, provided thoughtful recommendations, and handled my request with empathy. Without any hassle, she suspended my account and allowed me ample time to submit a letter from my GP. Charmaine made the entire process seamless, and I truly appreciate her support.

Negative experience: Terrible cancellation policy. They demand you come in and threaten you with a $150 cancellation fee without even looking at your membership. It's a painful process and they obviously don't care.

Negative experience: Why is tgere no disable toilet here isn't it a law as i have seen some people having very hard time in there today .

Fantastic experience: I really like the gym and all the different spaces they have. They have their own staff and allied health staff which has helped me with my injuries. Having a pool alongside the gym has been super convenient. One of the better gyms in Melton, highly recommend.

Negative experience: dont recommend as all their memberships are contracted. i was kicked out of home and moved an hour away from the gym. was in a hard financial position and when i tried to cancel they tried to get me to pay a $200 cancelation fee! they need to be more understanding when it comes to situations like this. all they care about is money. not to mention the membership “allowed use” of their indoor pool and i was never allowed to use it.

Fantastic experience: I've been to several gyms in the area, Genesis is by far my favourite! Great members, great instructors!! The facility has everything you need, even classes for your kids to come and enjoy. The atmosphere is so family friendly and welcoming. You really feel part of a community there

Fantastic experience: Great Gym with a variety of equipment that you can really bust out a good sweat on. Just make sure to wipe it down before moving on. Amazing staff and affordable memberships are just icing on the cake. Fat Free cake that is.

Positive experience: It's okay if you don't do much weight training. But if you do then find some other place as they keep air conditioning off even during daytime of summer. Which is a torture for members who do weight training in free weight area. You may opt for winter membership and avoid summer, unless you want to ask staffs everyday for air conditioning which is complementary in other gyms of this area.

Fantastic experience: Fairly priced gym membership $35.95 a week, including everything from Coaching Zone, Reformer, Aqua, Massage room, Steam room, Infrared sauna, the facilities are all fantastic, atmosphere is amazing, great people and staff. Highly recommend, if you're looking for a gym to join Genesis Melton is the way to go.

Negative experience: Use like this gym till a few incerdents!!! 1 they let school kids in male change rooms un supervised had 2 times a child looked at me while trying to go toilet and I complained nothing done. Staff a lazy told them 6 times about loose weights nothing done even had the cap fall off on me in a set of weights. The manager lied about stuff in a email of incident that Not happened not enough equipment they lock members out of a cable machine and trainer was rude saying I need that while I was working out if you want a good experience go elsewhere owner replied with those comments Nothing of the sort happened Unprofessional and substantially not true

Fantastic experience: i only joined this gym for the unlimited reformer pilates sessions, membership is affordable and they have early sessions from 5:30am weekdays, which helps with gettg to work on time. Instructors are awesome, staff are friendly and helpful, everyone there is on thier own journey which is great to see, even made friends along the way. i also get access to everythg else in the gym (and i will get to that eventually‍♀️).

Negative experience: Came in to ask a simple set up question for Work Cover and the woman behind the counter decided to to Yell over me. "TALK TO ALIX. TALK TO ALIX. I CAN'T DO ANYTHING. I CAN'T DO ANYTHING." Started having an anxiety attack so I composed myself and left. I'd recommend if you suffer from Anxiety and Heart Issues. DO NOT SIGN UP! Not worth it in my non professional opinion.

Negative experience: The gym is overall good but I decided to cancel my membership. It has been weeks and weeks even after canceling by email and by phone and I keep on getting money taking out of my account. I have send multiple email and no respond. It’s getting up to 150$ of money taking out of my account for a gym that I cancel and don’t even go anymore. Not a good example for a company. Please sort reach to your email and contact me to refund my money!

Negative experience: Was told swimming pool is always at 32'C just a couple degrees less than a hydrobath. Became a member to use this facility based on this information. No way near 32'C. Possibly 15'C, maybe. Certainly not 32'C. Very disappointed. Would be extremely helpful having after hours access.

Negative experience: My child swims hear I noticed that the water is very cold I see all the kids come out freezing I even saw one of the instructors shivering as she was teaching children swimming. it's to cold the water teaching kids if you see kids getting out shivering you need to make it warmer

Positive experience: Very good location and very good staff and equipment. eDuring work out i witnessed- a very masculine guy is intimidating, threatening, abusing another older guy on the pull up machine. He made so many profanity, racist comments- thatI was ready to intervene. The older guy played it cool and after his workout left the machine. The staff should put a sign up - that - no one is allowed to be violent toward any member - and if there is problem- to see the staff.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many gyms but I can say this gym is by far the best. Top quality equipment, feeling safe at all times and just the icing on the cake is the crew. One particular employee is Tracey, she always greets you with a smile, has the best customer service and I honestly think she deserves a payrise for all her hard work! Negative experience: When I asked the receptionist about adult swimming lessons, all I have for answer is she doesn’t work for swimming school. calling swimming school is not probably working because they won’t be able to pick up the phone and e-mail them will not guarantee for any answer as well; again, they will reply only when they can. Horribly unprofessional. Last but not least, no information available for pricing and lessons at all as well.

Fantastic experience: It is one of the best in Melton. It is a complete fitness club with Gym, Aqua, steam rooms, group coaching classes. Open 24/7 and staffed all days from 6 AM to 10 PM

Positive experience: Worth a short hike from the forest for me and I’m use to a gym or PT around the corner! Clean, modern machines, plenty of space, Pilates, yoga on offer, POOL a bonus and easy access from the train for after work move and grooves. Plenty of lockers and updated bathroom facilities with steam room is thumbs up. Would be 5 stars if more classes available (eg pump and spin) but I know the G-team are trying hard to get staff - c’mon instructors this is a great gym?!

Fantastic experience: I love this place. Facilities are clean and the equipment variety is amazing, especially in the women's only exercise room. I came here for yoga, but I'm keen to try the pilates class as well as the sauna.

My son tried and tried to cancel but they wouldn't accept it over the phone and everytime we went in the reception was unmanned. They took an additional 120 off of a child. Edit: Paul from Genesis contacted me and offered a more than reasonable refund for the services we hadn't used. Very happy with his proactive response to my cancellation experience. The gym itself is best value for money in melton in my opinion. Rejoined Genesis in May, best Group classes in Melton. Gym is clean and staff are attentive.

Fantastic experience: All-in-one gym that's worth the price! We attend swimming lessons with lovely instructors. Huge variety of machines and other classes. Very clean and spacious changing rooms and showers that are well maintained. Good amount of parking. Love the icecream on the way out
