Negative experience: I recently cancelled my membership with Snap Fitness Maryborough due to persistent safety concerns and write this review due to the poor handling of my cancellation. I raised specific concerns about the gym layout—particularly the bench press being positioned too close to the dual cable machines. Despite flagging that this had already led to several near misses, the management's response put the responsibility back on me to suggest changes or even to stop using the equipment entirely, rather than proactively addressing the safety risk. One particularly alarming factor is that the dual cable machine is frequently used by wheelchair users. This makes the cramped setup even more dangerous, as there is even less room to safely maneuver around someone lifting heavy weights. In one of my final sessions, this risk became all too real. I was lifting ~100kg overhead when someone accidentally knocked my bar mid-lift due to the limited space. In that moment, I genuinely thought I might seriously injure or maim myself. It was a terrifying near miss that could have easily resulted in serious harm to me. I've trained in various gyms for over a decade, worked in unexploded ordnance and never experienced anything like this. When I provided written notice to cancel my membership—fully meeting the requirements under Queensland legislation—the process was made unnecessarily difficult. Despite satisfying the written notice obligation, I was repeatedly asked to complete redundant paperwork and the cancellation was not processed until I pointed out the legislation in question. At one point, despite clearly outlining my rights, I was told by Jaclyn: "If you need any help with signing the bottom part of the form, I'd be happy to assist." — a comment I found patronising, considering that I had already fulfilled all my obligations. I even had to request a pro-rata refund myself, something that should have been automatic. When I calculated this, Snap only issued a partial refund missing a day. When I corrected them, they understood by citing: "yes you are correct there is technically 31 days in May". When the final day was refunded to me, I was short changed by a final 4 cents, which I had to laugh at. I am sharing this review not out of malice, but because I genuinely hope it prevents another member from being injured. I sincerely urge management to reassess both the gym layout and their approach to safety concerns before someone does get seriously hurt and consider the rights of the members who attend this gym. I am disappointed that management did not take the safety of its patrons more seriously.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym and the staff! Snap fitness Maryborough is crushing it. Amazing friendly staff who will not hesitate to assist you anyway they possibly can. The gym is amazing and I really like the layout! I LOVE where the bench press is, plenty of space for safe heavy lifts and for a spotter to assist. P.s you guys got to try the sauna! It's amazing.

Negative experience: Nothing like not agreeing to renew a contract when being in a finacal hardship and trying to end contract that wasn't agreed on but still having to pay the fees during a financial hardship that was communicated more than 5 times! Will be recommending everyone not to come here, they only care about your money, not you.

Very important for an introvert looking to get fit. The place is always clean, and fully equipped. The team definitely make this gym special.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with friendly staff who are genuinely interested in helping you have a good experience, which was good being a first timer to any gym. Great range of equipment and good quality equipment. I recently went to a snap fitness in Brisbane and one in Rockhampton and the Maryborough location had a better range and better quality equipment than both.

Negative experience: The gym itself is good. Great when you want to join, horrible when you want to leave. I had a 1-month membership and they told me I would get a 70$ refund when I return the card. I went there three times in person to get my refund, first time 'the right person' wasn't there, second time the person didn't show up even though they told me to come at a certain time. Third time they took my number and said they would call me after talking to the manager. Also said at the same time that they only give refunds if you return the card within 7 days - which I never heard before. I'm still waiting for the call..... Considered giving one star, but the gym is okay to work out and the personal trainers are very nice!

But the great staff and awesome personal trainers made me feel so welcome and comfortable being a single dad the creche is so handy too. It's a awesome friendly gym. Caters to all levels of fitness.
