Positive experience: Proximity from the township. Walking along the riverside and enjoying its breezes and scenery is refreshing. Due to popular demand, it requires proper conduct for all to enjoy. Capable of holding a booked event, public markets, and open mike auditions.

Negative experience: It's a nice place and has good facilities. The homeless population appear to have taken up residence in most areas of the zone, however they keep to themselves and is still a somewhat safe area for families to enjoy

Fantastic experience: We had the Luther Light Party to and for the Glory of our most high Lord Jesus. As well as for our wonderful commchildrenunity in Mackay. Combined with Blue water quay our great markets on the 31 st of October. It was an outstanding venue and a witness of Gods great love ❤️ through our local churches . For our wonderful Mackay . And the children were truly blessed and loved by all so many smiling faces you could feel the LOVE OF OUR DEAR LORD. God bless Mackay .

Fantastic experience: Stayed nearby and enjoyed a late afternoon walk along this area very nice with beautiful sunset views. Close to the City Centre as well - nice place to relax.

Fantastic experience: A pleasant experience if you’re in the mood for a quiet stroll by the river. The area is well-maintained, and the views of the river are calming, especially around sunset. There are a few benches where you can sit and take in the scenery, which is nice if you’re looking to relax for a bit. It’s a good spot to unwind, but don’t expect too much beyond the basics. There aren’t many facilities or activities, so it’s more suited for a brief visit rather than an extended stay. Overall, it’s a simple, clean spot that’s worth checking out if you’re nearby, but it’s not something to plan an entire day around.

Fantastic experience: Busy? Need to stop and just let the world go by. This is lovely spot. Enjoyed especially on on a Thursday afternoon with live music and a small market.

Positive experience: The area is well kept, good open space for a picnic, also some sheltered area to escape the sun or rain. It has public toilets, but they were incredibly dirty and disgusting when we went there, especially the male one.

Positive experience: A great place to walk along the river. The sculptures were interesting. The cafe/restaurant was very popular and busy.

Fantastic experience: Been here for many events that are on in Mackay. It's a great place to just watch the river with the boats, do some fishing on the docks, a small playground, barbecues and can have picnics on the grass. I would say, watch out for the sand flies at the end of the day, when the sun's going down. They do have markets on Thursdays 3p.m. to 7p.m. with food vans and a few stalls. They even have on Wednesdays mornings markets for local produce that is around Mackay Region. Playground: It's a small playground but it will entertain the kids, if they just need to burn off a little bit of energy. Restrooms: Restrooms are very reasonable and they have a disabled toilet. Dog-friendliness: It's okay to have your animals but believe you will need a lead on them at all times. Picnic area: Definitely can have picnics on the grass and there are tables with barbecues and you can look out onto the river.

Positive experience: Just got out and went for a walk. Nice area for a walk between the river and city. It's good for a stretch of the legs. Plenty of shops near by. There are even a couple of spots where you can fish. All good Jim.

Positive experience: We stopped to check out the markets. The area itself was quite pleasant, the markets offered a range of goods, home grown produce and foods.

Fantastic experience: Bluewater Quay is a public space with a beautiful waterfront walkway. There is plenty of parking as well.

Positive experience: Attended the Farmers markets on a Wednesday, excellent frappe from Mad Cow coffee van and plenty of beautiful produce as well as a cute stall for dumplings on a stick! Just remember to pay for your parking if using the wharf car park.

Fantastic experience: Well, as I drove pass Bluewater Quay today, on Sat. 20. 11. 21 around 11am, I saw a large crowd of people attending there 'Rally For Freedom' with written posters, with Australian flags, etc. I decided to park my car somewhere and join the crowd so I did.I also purchased a shirt there with writing ' Freedom of decision 'jab or not to jab'. We listened to speeches, clapped, agreed that we have rights to oppose mandatory injections of ant Covid vaccines, any kind of coercion towards it was, and it is illegal. All world is protesting on every Saturdays of the months. I took some photos too.

Fantastic experience: Went with Rotary on a Friday night after work. Breeze was beautiful as we watched the sun set on the river. Lots of other people were there enjoying themselves. A group of people bought a pizza and were sitting next to us enjoying the night. We felt safe - no drunks etc there. A great place to enjoy a quiet chat with friends

Fantastic experience: Experience the fruit and vegetable markets each Wednesday from 7am till 11am. Great range of local produce including eggs, honey and Eungella milk. Also seafood. Coffee van also there to get that warm pick me up drink . Beautiful boardwalk along the river sets the scene. Plenty of parking too.

Positive experience: Either side of the Forgan Bridge on the final reach of the Pioneer River is a newly enhanced public space along almost 250 metres of waterfront. At Bluewater Quay there’s a boardwalk, viewing platform and fishing platform, complemented by public art, a children’s playground, picnic and barbecue areas and a stage for open-air performances and events. Also here is an historic Leichardt tree (nauclea orientalis), which was used as an anchor for Mackay’s earliest maritime traffic in the 1860s

Positive experience: Yesterday walking down the river street while the tide was coming in it was peaceful,there's was few there trying to the best shot and majority of them r local it was a good day and also the council had the sign up to remind the fishermen to park high ground,there is a restaurant right over where u can have lunch or other.
