Fantastic experience: I have been training here for a number of years and it is a great place to train with plenty of room. Instructors are highly experienced & provide a great variety of different Martial Arts & fitness classes both during the week and Saturday mornings. I highly recommend MARA to both anyone starting out or experienced trainers.

Fantastic experience: I have been training here for over 5 years and hands down, best choice I've made . Excellent training centre and trainers who really care and go above and beyond to help you achieve your goals. All the trainers are super experienced and take an interest in you no matter what fitness level you’re at. The fellow members are inspiring, and always provide encouragement during the workouts which can be challenging. Blake is a very knowledgeable and respectful trainer who always inspires the team to push beyond our limits.

Fantastic experience: MARA is a fantastic place to train in multiple fighting techniques, build confidence, have fun, and be mentored by down to earth professionals. I have only joined for 5 months, but I have really enjoyed learning the arts of combat fighting, in particular; Mauy Thai, Kick Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, and Boxing. I would highly recommend anyone of any age to join and be transformed to a better version of yourself. Follow the process and be Stronger, Fitter and mentally ready to smash any goals you have! Fantastic experience: I've been a student at MARA for over 8 years now and I can't imagine training anywhere else. The instructors are phenomenal and have an incredibly vast knowledge on all the arts they teach, making learning fun and engaging. Their teaching style is perfect for beginners, making martial arts approachable and fun, instead of intimidating. There's something for everyone with their classes, for aspiring competitors and families who just want to have fun. I started out in their kids' program and it has made a significant impact on my outlook on life, my discipline and behaviour, as well as my fitness. Through MARA I managed to reach my fitness goals, meet many new friends, and engage my mind through learning various art forms. I simply cannot recommend MARA enough.

Negative experience: The head couch has serious ego issues great place to learn weapons bad to learn place to learn hand to hand and over priced.

Fantastic experience: I made the best decision enrolling my daughter to be trained at the Martial Arts Research Academy. The coaches , Blake and Jenny are passionate and dedicated in teaching beyond martial arts skills. From the first day of my daughter training, i was impressed with how they quickly taught her responsibility and self-discipline, my daughter knows that she alone is responsible for ensuring she has all her training kit with her and understand there’s consequences if she didn’t (100 push-ups ) My daughter counts the days between her day of training, she is having fun learning and is becoming more confident little girl. The academy offers a lot of flexibility with regards to training schedule - helpful in juggling other commitments. I would recommend these guys in a nano heartbeat!

Fantastic experience: The teachers are super friendly, encouraging and allow you to work at a pace that works for you. The fact that they have a great sense of humour is an added bonus. The classes are well-planned, and I (along with other family members) have benefited greatly from their lessons. They are also hugely accommodating towards students who have children which adds to the experience. I consider MARA my home away from home.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend MARA in a heartbeat! There are a wide variety of adult classes and the flexibility to go as much as you like. Plus a really fun and supportive environment that has helped me develop so much. Blake and Jenny are super lovely and very experienced. What I really value is that they take the time to help everyone with their individual goals and progress as well !

Fantastic experience: I've been training in BJJ, MMA and Muay Thai for several years and have trained at acouple of gyms over that time and seen what afew places have to offer. I thoroughly enjoy training at Mara as they have an extensive range of martial arts on offer and probably one of the most knowledgeable trainers who's proficiency in the vast array of disciplines is astounding, Blake's training methods and explaining techniques are also very easily to follow and understand. The atmosphere of the gym along with the people is friendly and welcoming. We manage to have a laugh but also train hard. Mara also has one of the biggest mat areas I've been on and the available Sunday sessions are great especially like myself if you work long hours and have a young child at home. I highly recommend Mara to anyone who's after the "popular" martial arts like No gi grappling and Kickboxing but also for people who want to learn FMA and JKD.
