Negative experience: Misleading Pricing, Lack of Accountability & Poor Customer Service I personally witnessed the signup process at Anytime Fitness Emu Plains, as I joined at the same time as my friend. We were both assured that membership fees would adjust based on the gym we used most frequently. However, my friend’s fees increased significantly despite continuing to train at Anytime Fitness Emu Plains, and despite being promised that the original rate would apply when returning. For over a year, my friend was charged far more than the original rate—resulting in an overcharge of close to $750. Despite raising the issue, he has received no credit or proper resolution for this significant discrepancy. When we expressed our concerns, we were met with generic responses that sent us through endless loops in their resolution process, with no genuine attempt to honour the explanation provided at signup. Furthermore, they hide behind Clause 8.2 of their contract, which permits fee increases but does not specify decreases. Although they claim that rates are adjusted based on your primary gym, the ambiguity in this clause creates a loophole that allows them to hike fees while denying the clear interpretation given during signup. Even if the explanation given makes sense to an honest person, it is a loophole they will use against you. This practice feels both dishonest and deceptive. This situation is incredibly frustrating, especially since we have both been training at Anytime Fitness Emu Plains since 2022 with the expectation of honesty and fairness. The fee explanation made perfect sense at signup, and as an honest customer, you would expect those terms to be honoured—otherwise, why risk training at another Anytime Fitness location? My friend and I will be taking further action if there is no honouring of what was promised. Be warned and be very careful before signing up with Anytime Fitness Emu Plains. I strongly advise anyone considering a membership to get everything in writing, especially details on how fees are determined. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this gym.

Negative experience: Smells strongly of plastic/rubber, I think they need to open the windows more and let fresh air in

Negative experience: My husband and I were members for years and have canceled and gone elsewhere as our local AF (Emu Plains) is not well managed or maintained. The staff turnover is high and they just come out from the office to ask for referrals. They even bring a puppy in rather than taking care of the gym. The gym is well worn down, holes in the walls that are never fixed, dirty floors, unmaintained machines and stands that hold equipment. The hangers for the spray bottles don't even get fixed when they break. Yet they have the audacity to put the prices up and not fix anything. We are now at a better gym where it's taken care of, huge variety of machines, can order freshly made protein shakes etc and it is literally half the price of AF.

Fantastic experience: I completed a free trial this week and the staff were very helpful in setting everything up. The gym equipment is well maintained, there is a good variety for a small community gym, and it is a very clean environment. Glad to have signed up and look forward to attending more often.

Negative experience: Cancelled membership got confirmation email but money is still being taken out not good

Negative experience: Lack of variation in equipment and suffers from ridiculous overcrowding yet try to push more memberships into an already suffocating club. Signed up at this club, used it a few times and found the whole experience annoying at best. Club managers only care about signing new members, so club dissociation between them and loyal members is massive. Could smell the guy a few meters away being such a small club. I rate it worst to somewhat decent (barely) - Emu Plains 2/5 _ Penrith 3/5 - St Marys 4/5

Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness is always clean and the staff are friendly, they are always to willing to demonstrate correct techniques and offer P/T sessions for those who are looking to work out effectively.
