Fantastic experience: I've just taken advantage of the membership, it's a well equipped gym for cardiovascular , weights and general muscle. The staff is very helpful and friendly

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service and friendly staff are always helpful . Very clean and staff always keeping everything hygienic.

Negative experience: Actually horrid. Smells horrible staff are also rude and unhelpful when trying to cancel. Save yo self the problems. Go anywhere else

Fantastic experience: Reasons to join Planet Fitness: 1. Cost. Classic is 12$ per fortnight and Black is 21.90$ per fortnight. Annual fee is 49$. You won’t find that value anywhere else. 2. Diverse Atmosphere. Two grandmas strolling on treadmills belong there just as much as the big muscly guys on the Smith machines. (Or big muscly guys on treadmills and grandmas on Smith machines, etc..) 3. Convenience. 24/7 air-conditioned access including showers. The stuff they use to clean the place smells really good. 4. Safety. The facility is gated, card-locked, and fully surveillanced. The front desk even offers wearable alarms. You can work out alone in the middle of the night! Reasons to not join Planet Fitness: 1. Cost. It’s not an exclusive luxury health club. So, please, adjust your expectations. 12$ a fortnight does not afford you much entitlement. 2. It isn't a traditional gym. Behaviours and attitudes that might fly in traditional gyms will not fly here. 3. It has rules. You agree to comply with them as soon as you pass the front desk. You also agree that staff have complete discretion over how–and when–the rules are applied. If the staff say stop, you stop. No question. As long as you respect this, the staff are super nice and helpful! And you can always appeal afterwards. 4. Planet Fitness may not be your vibe. Especially if you’re hardcore and like to be completely surrounded by hardcore people. (Though there are still definitely hardcore people there!)

Negative experience: So just finished work and wonder over to the gym to have a quick workout. I have been doing this for months on end. Same thing in my work uniform. Today when going in as normal, I pulled up and turned away because I have… closed in shoes? And chinos? Even though I have literally been here 10+ times on working days over the last couple months in the EXACT same attire. Sent away for a membership I pay for on a random bullshit rule that’s suddenly being forced on me though it harms no one. Entitled knob behind the desk needs to enforce it on his staff to set clear boundaries or understand that his customers is what drives his business. Yikes.

Es enorme, tiene muchas máquinas de ejercicios, mucho espacio para hacer la actividad que quieras, hay clases y hay también sillas de masajes y más cosas!! The gym is great! It’s huge, with lots of exercise machines, plenty of space to do any activity you want, classes, massage chairs, and more!!

Fantastic experience: Friendly, helpful gym staff. Love the space and amount of machines as despite its popularity it never feels too crowded. Love the black membership - hydro massage, red light therapy etc. Awesome and affordable ‍♀️

Fantastic experience: Good gym

Negative experience: The gym is full of machines for all different muscle groups. However, there was no bench press or any free weight barbell at all, which is concerning. The biggest critique I have for this planet fitness and potentially all planet fitnesses is the blatant discrimination they condone towards people of bigger size, despite their slogans outlining stuff like “you belong” and “judgement free zone”, their “lunk alarm” labels all people who wear singlets and have large water bottles as “lunks”, as though condoning people who drink healthy amounts of water as idiots. Upon entering planet fitness, a sentence explicitly discriminates against “body builders and power lifts”, saying how the gym doesn’t condone such people, blatantly expressing a form of discrimination. A cheap gym for everyone besides people who lift “heavy”

Positive experience: Great to workout. Clean equipment. Friendly staff

Positive experience: Great gym but missing some important equipment like sled and free bar bell like for free dead lifts, That is not attached to a Smith machine. The exercise classes there is no separate room sadly. The row machine seat is not adjustable hard to reach seat if your short great hydro beds and red light therapy. Friendly staff and excellent prices . Seems to be a lack of staff knowledge with some machines about connecting to headphones etc. but over all great bang for your buck

Negative experience: Arrived at this Gym on Monday 19th August just after 9.30am. I am an independent Support worker and was on shift with both of my clients. All three of us had been there on the two Mondays prior to this with no issues. However, on this particular morning we walked in as normal and my client scanned his phone and got his chux cloth before we all headed towards the gym equipment. On our way we were pulled up by not one staff member but THREE of them! One included the Manager. The staff member approached us extremely aggressive in her tone of voice and asked "What is going on here?" I replied "Sorry, not sure what you mean" She then went on to tell me (in her very rude tone of voice) that IF I was not a member, I would NOT be able to walk into this gym with my client and do the session. She then explained that I was not able to bring an extra person (being my other client) in with me. This shocked both myself and my clients considering we had been in that gym for the past two weeks where all staff members had seen us, spoken to us and not ONCE mentioned a single word. My client has also been attending this gym with two different support workers for the past 8 months. My client was also told upon signing up that he would be able to bring a support worker with him on his Classic membership and all was good to go. Unfortunately that was not the case and all this time, noone said a single word to him or his support workers. This incident resulted in very harsh discrimination against people with a disability along with their Support workers. The Manager at this particular Gym refused to speak to me when asked. I found this entire Incident to be completely mismanaged and very unprofessional by the staff and Management at Planet Fitness Hervey bay. Due to this incident, my client was left extremely hurt, mentally and emotionally due to being denied access into the Gym. As a result, my client has cancelled his membership and will not be returning. Absolutely disgusted by the way this was handled. A complete lack of knowledge in common sense towards people with a disability and how to approach a situation. I do NOT recommend this gym AT ALL!!

Fantastic experience: My first time ever in a gym and I have nothing but good things to say. I have never felt intimidated, self-conscious, or fearful of being judged. The staff ALWAYS acknowledge you when you arrive and leave. It really is a positive choice.

Negative experience: Was an excellent gym when I initially signed up, staff were friendly and gym goers were laid back however, after arriving and realising I had forgotten my gym shoes and asking staff if my work boots would be ok on the off day I forget my shoes I was told yes they should be fine only to find out yesterday that they weren't acceptable and the manager had told the staff member to tell me that also asked me to leave the premises. No warning no understanding just told plain and simple to leave. Would not recommend this gym purely because of the manager and the way she chose to treat a member.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love everything about Planet Fitness! The staff are amazing, the equipment and amenities are clean, bright and shiny, and the Black Card Spa makes the value incredible! Where can you workout with state of the art equipment, use massage chairs, hydro beds, benefit from red light therapy, and get a spray tan for just a few dollars a week?!? The only place I know is Planet Fitness. I used to pay $30 a month back in the early 90’s… and that was for old, rusty hand weights in an old room with no air conditioning. Compare the two and who wins! 30 years later I’m paying almost the same but for so much more!!!

Negative experience: my friends who are between the ages of 14-15 years have been saying that they attend to this gym. however when i went up there i was told that you had to be 17 years old to start there. i’m a little bit confused so can someone clarify what age you have to be to start there?

Fantastic experience: Love training here. State of the art machines, friendly staff, nice environment & not charging you ridiculous fees like some gyms. Highly recommend

Negative experience: A lot more cardio equipment set-up than weight lifting, beginner or rehab gym in my opinion, the dumbbells only going up to 35 kilos is a tad sad, and some squat racks even if it means less smith machines seems obvious. Rules of this place are ridiculous

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this gym for a few months now and am LOVING it. No gym anxiety, lots of space and equipment, the staff are beautiful (thanks to Easter bunny Bec for my choccy this morning), and the spa area is the cherry on top!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE that Planet Fitness is here in the bay. A club that offers an intimidation free environment that is always cleaned regularly...and the facilities are amazing! I'm crazy about the Black Card Spa area!! My favourite, the hydro beds and I can't pass up a good spray tan

Negative experience: Equipment and classes ARE great, but agree that equipment is not cleaned. Also, be aware of the annual fee which I was not informed of. The guy that signed me up did not explain ANYTHING, no app download, no tour, no nothing. I've already cancelled due to poor customer service

Fantastic experience: As soon as you walk in you’re welcomed with a hello and a smile, the ac is cranking keeping you cool whilst the music is pumping. Plenty of space to do your on thing and plenty of equipment. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Great gym but things are starting to slip already!! Equipment not being wiped down, dust around the place & in locker rooms. Chewing gum on the floor where some inconsiderate bogan decided to spit it out! People crashing their weights down .....look at me...look at me attitude. Probably the same bogan that left 200 kg of weights leaning up against the wall instead of returning them where the belong.......more supervision is required for sure.

Fantastic experience: Loving newest gym to Hervey Bay. Planet Fitness is great modern gym with lots of equipment for everyone's type of workout.Very spacious bathrooms with lockers,change rooms,showers & for the ladies a hairdryer & straightener! One thing notice its family friendly which it great to see Mum or Dad working out with kids. Staff are friendly & ready to help if need to be shown around. Black card spa amenities great bonus & worth the extra per week. Loving the app too, gives you ideas of workouts, how to use equipment, crowd meter & book classes. Lots of parking too.
