UFC GYM Ashmore

Negative experience: Not as good as when I first joined. They have been going downhill since the end of 2023 It is a good all in one gym I must admit with the equipment and facilities available, However they have not been the same since first opening. They had no capacity limits in classes. Always some sort of promotion caused a large number of people signing up which congested classes where we had no proper room to train. There was an app to check in to a class but never really put in place as classes were just overcrowded.

Negative experience: I don't recommend

Negative experience: Horrible. Shocked with customer service. I hold fitness passport and just popped in to ask about classes etc… The receptionist was sitting on the chair with her legs up on table and talking on the phone… I wondered around for good 30 seconds then she came up to me asking what I want! No Hi / no how are you…. nothing!!!! She wouldn’t even disconnect her call for a minute to talk with me! I would recommend you guys to change your receptionist else you gonna loose customers like myself.

Negative experience: Called to ask what the name of the general manager was, and for an email address to contact, and was told by the person on the phone they were new and didn't know the name of the manager. Earlier in the call she said she would pass me on to the manager, I heard that person in the background asking what I was enquiring about, and then the woman I was speaking with got back on the phone and said I don't know who they are but I can take down a note. I asked to speak with any other colleague so I could simply find out the name of the general manager, but she continued to repeat she was new. Eventually she gave me a general gmail address I could send my query to, but still refused to give me the name of any management staff or anyone that I could contact. This gym doesn't show up on the UFC franchise website, they don't have their own website, and the website for the head franchise gives no legitimate business information whatsoever. I know the business exists, however the lack of transparency, obvious avoidance over the telephone, and unwillingness to assist with a simple question is unprofessional.

Negative experience: Rip off merchants!!! Told my account had been cancelled in early December yet money has been drawn until as late as last week to the value of my weekly payments on my (now expired) contract. On top of this, they have decided to reactivate my partners membership which has been inactive for up to 18months now, she was unaware that the gym had even split from UFC Gym Australia and no longer used the old app, but I digress, upon reactivating her account they have decided to charge a payment of $103.80 and $20.00 with out any communication towards us regarding the reactivation of the account and reason for these 2 payments. I have left my name and number at the front desk for any managers that wish to call me (which I advise) as I will be going legal as of Monday if I have not heard anything before then in relation to the reactivation of my account and an explanation as to where these payments are coming from

Negative experience: I cancelled the membership after a year, and they are still taking the weekly payments. I cancelled 6 weeks ago.

Positive experience: Good gym, 24 hours option would be much appreciated, other than thay gym’s solid

Negative experience: I joined the UFC Ashmore Gym about six months ago, paying $1,000 upfront for a year-long membership. After just two sessions, I was appalled by the gym’s lack of hygiene. The machines were covered in sweat, there was a strong odor of body odor throughout, and the toilets appeared never to be cleaned—no toilet paper in any of the stalls, and sweat all over the floor. I voiced my concerns to the front desk, explaining that this was not what I had signed up for. They offered me a free membership extension, which I declined, as that wasn’t the solution I was looking for. The staff member assured me I would receive a refund and said she would pass my details on to management. Since then, I’ve called nearly every week to follow up on the refund, but I keep getting told that management isn’t available. Despite my requests for them to contact me, I’ve received no response. I’ve sent emails, left voicemails, and still, nothing. The whole situation has been extremely unprofessional.

Negative experience: Good equipment and nice staff but I asked to cancel in advance as I’m leaving the area and they cancelled my membership earlier than I asked for and now said I need to pay $15 per session even tho it was a mistake on their half and I’ve been training here for 9 months, the prices for memberships vary to how much the staff members decide on the day which isn’t fair (some people get charged sign up free others don’t.) also the music is too loud, they never seem to get the temperature right (AC runs warm on hot days and freezing on cold days) which can effect the session & the toilets always stinky and it’s very hot in there as there’s no AC but other than that the gym is decent

Fantastic experience: The community and vibe at UFC is like no other gym gym on the GC, the staff are friendly and invested in your journey, the atmosphere is terrific, the equipment is new, clean and well looked after and the music is great (I don’t have to stress when I forget my earphones because it’s that good). I live in Burleigh and make the effort to travel there as much as I can because I believe it’s the best on the GC.

Positive experience: Friendly staff (always feel welcome and am greeted warmly every time I arrive) and members are also quite nice (for the most part). Also love the cool temperature to train in. The issues I have are that the music is often WAY too loud (I can hear it over my headphones which is frustrating) and the music is atrocious. When I ask them to please turn it down, they say yes, but it never sounds lower afterwards. Additionally, the equipment, though great, is too close together and you have to climb over some to get through to others. For the most part it's a good place to train, but I wish they wouldn't ignore the issues that many people raise. I'll probably go elsewhere to be honest, but they won't care.

Positive experience: great place only thing i can complain about is it needs mirrors for the bags and the bubbler needs to be cold

Positive experience: I have found with every visit to UFC. That all the staff are helpful, and encouraging. Everyone is greeted with a smile, and made to feel comfortable. No matter what your fitness level. And the place feels very professional, and positive

Fantastic experience: Big UFC fan here. Was in QLD and decided I wanted to visit this gym, the staff was very nice and let me walk into the gym with no membership or nothing, they also let me walk into the octagon and just take some pictures etc. They also have nice protein shakes and lots of equipment, supplements and more for sale.

Negative experience: To busy, no attention to everyone

Fantastic experience: Great gym, all the facilities are really nice and tidy. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. I’ve been training Muay Thai with Shaun and he is a great trainer, definitely worth coming here if you are thinking about joining a gym

Fantastic experience: It’s been over a year since I’ve really had a good training session and with some encouragement from the team at UFC I did exactly that today with one of their trainers Raido. He knew when to push me and when to allow me some time to regain myself. Great judge of character and the staff are always friendly. Anyone looking to make a come back, I recommend the UFC gym

Negative experience: I signed up to this gym after getting very sick from covid I was unable to workout. The manager sent my account to a credit reporting agency called ANR. I have a 3 year old daughter and a 6 month old daughter who also where invested by covid and we have been so sick we could hardly even get by. This gym! UFC GYM admire hit me with a $980 debt and I’ve been chased by debt collectors for the last 3 months! I never set foot in your pathetic gym and my young family have been sick! You are ruthless , crooks! DONT SIGN UP they will rip you and set debt collectors on you no matter what! Disgusting! I know a lot of people and I’m sharing this across all social media platforms. STAY AWAY from this gym!

Fantastic experience: I will update this to a 5 star review once the Gym addresses the concerns of the members and instructors as up until this point, they have been completely ignored. This gym is amazing, the price is good, the classes and instructors are great, and the equipment is also good. The staff are all super friendly and it is a great environment to train. I have been coming to this gym every day since it opened and it is highly recommended. I do have one major issue that prevents me from putting 5 stars. That is, the music is WAY too loud during classes. This gym is meant to be an MMA gym and it is super important that we are able to hear the instructors tell us technical information and skills during lessons. Instead the instructors need to yell over the music. Even while yelling we all struggle to hear and this really impacts the quality of the teaching. There was a short period where instructors were able to turn down the music with their phone while talking and then back up when not talking however that now gets overiden by someone else who controls the music on some days. I saw my instructor get visibly frustrated in one class the other day when he would continually try to turn down the music while someone turned it back up. Whoever was doing this was being incredibly rude and disrespectful to the instructor. The majority of the day is not taken up by classes and I doubt anyone in the gym section will be impacted by a couple of hours of lower volume music. Thanks.

Fantastic experience: I am extremely happy I decided to make the change to the UFC Ashmore gym!! This is the first gym I’ve joined that I feel super comfortable utilizing all that it has to offer. From the large range of classes, using all the amazing equipment they have - there’s a huge variety for every workout, the one on one techquine sessions you can book with the trainers, the brand new saunas in the bathrooms and much more! I’ve never felt more comfortable in a gym as I do now, it has a real community feel to it, everyone is so welcoming and friendly!! I started by doing PT sessions with Steve, which was an amazing way for me to get to know the gym, set and stick to my goals and has really helped me get to the level I’m so happy to be at now!! He has taught me sooo much already, I seriously couldn’t recommend Steve and the incredible UFC gym enough!! There’s no place like it!!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, vibe and community! Joined mainly to try bjj and have been blown away by how great Marcelo and Icaro have been with running and teaching all the bjj classes. I’m so glad I made the decision to give this place a go have been enjoying every minute.

The facility and coaches are top notch - I’ve been doing BJJ for the last two weeks and met people how came to train from all ages shapes and levels. Coaches and students where nice and welcoming.
