Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of visiting Universal Practice Fitzroy for treatment, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Jess Black is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly understand my condition and tailor a treatment plan specifically for me. The sessions were not only effective but also very informative. Jess explained each step of the process and provided valuable advice on exercises and lifestyle changes to support my recovery. Their professionalism and genuine care for my well-being made a significant difference in my healing journey. I highly recommend Jess to anyone in need of physiotherapy.

Fantastic experience: I have been a client of UP for several years or more specifically a client of Abby. Originally I attended the Richmond studio again with Abby, and followed Abby to Fitzroy when Richmond studio closed. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Abby and Pilates have changed my life. The benefits for me have been “off the scale”. A striking example of the benefits for me comes from recent major surgery. The effects were severe both physically and mentally, Abby’s rehab program has me back to my pre-surgery fitness in about 8 weeks. However an important caveat is that Pilates fitness clearly lessened the physical impact of the surgery. Thank you Abby ☺️

Fantastic experience: I've practised pilates and seen physiotherapists at Universal Practice since they set-up their first studio in Richmond over 10 years ago (I think). Since then I've attended their Malvern and now their Fitzroy studios. The classes are always consistently good, tailored and the best pilates I've done! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My friend and I attend Monday ropes yoga with Emma I’ve been to lots of yoga classes in my time and I can say Emma is wonderful Her instructions are clear and she shares her time equally assisting everyone. Great class.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Emma Lundgreen at Universal Practice since February. I'd heard great things about this physio practice and Emma came highly recommended as a physio and an empathic and caring human being. Five stars is an undersell of how good she is. I leave each session with her feeling happy and with a stronger understanding of how my body is behaving and how I can help it. She's also gone out of her way to help connect me with some specialists.

Fantastic experience: Another excellent reformer class at UP. Very well cued and designed - level feels like a challenge in the moment but one that’s doable, but only for the next five seconds — so the perfect level! By the end you go oh look at that I’ve done quite a workout. Good job, thank you 10am sat instructor!

Fantastic experience: I always admire health care professionals. The body can be so tricky with pain referring to different areas than the actual problem area. I visited Rachel today and I loved her methodical mindset focusing on the problem area which was so far away from the area of pain. Your assessment gave great relief..Well done Rachel, excellent R

Fantastic experience: Reformer Pilates classes here are fantastic. Especially with Katie, Gabby and Steph. Run by experienced physiotherapists so you know you are working all muscles correctly! Great workout, and perfect for those wanting a gentle introduction to exercise.

The practice itself is stunning and all of the staff are very friendly, especially Issy at reception. I'm so glad I was reccomended to go to Universal Practice for my recovery.

Fantastic experience: All of the physios at Universal Practice are great for clinical pilates - professional, fun, tailored classes to work on your weaknesses or injuries, and to challenge you on your strengths. Well worth it for the individual attention. High quality studio equipment in a lovely light filled setting. Abby is my fave physio she knows how to make me work hard whilst making me smile through the pain. She keeps me coming back week after week.

Fantastic experience: As an older person with a few body issues I find the physios & small classes here just terrific. As I am now recovering from a broken patella Rachel has been excellent. She worked with me on line providing a variety of exercises according to my needs & ability. Am now able to get back into the studio & Rachel continues her thorough treatment. All staff are welcoming & encouraging. ‍♀️‍♀️

Fantastic experience: Universal Practice offers a light filled studio, excellent classes run by knowledgeable physios targeting an overall improvement or focusing on problem spots and general wellbeing. Recommended for all ages.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend pilates classes at UP, the instructors are so supportive and knowledgeable. I did the prenatal classes with Stef and Rachel up until birth and it’s been tremendously helpful in postpartum recovery!

Fantastic experience: Had my first visit to UP this week for a reformer class. I was warmly welcomed and received outstanding care. The physio/instructor made me feel at ease and helped me participate in the class by substituting some exercises for me as I am currently nursing an injury. Great first impression. I will be back!

Fantastic experience: The Pilates classes are fantastic!. As someone who didn’t have much experience the instructors were very knowledgeable and supportive, would definitely recommend to anyone interested in Pilates.

Negative experience: Be wary if you want to claim a private health rebate. This business misrepresents who provides its services. Not all people who provide services at universal practice are physiotherapists and eligible for a private health rebate. It’s not made clear on the business website or in its app. I was also never informed of this at any stage when asking about private health rebates. I only found out after paying and attending 10 classes that they weren’t eligible for a rebate. I contacted the business about this and they haven’t responded which is just really poor. To be clear, all of the services I received were great. This is no slight on any of the physios or Pilates teachers that work there. But I don’t think it’s cool to deceive customers, especially when they think they’re seeing someone with a health qualification. So just double check who you’re seeing if you go here. Or choose to go somewhere with a bit more integrity.

Fantastic experience: I had booked a physio appointment for my mother, who was visiting from overseas, as she was complaining about leg problems. Sarah Wolff was very lovely and patient with her, as my mom doesn't speak English so fluently. After about 40 minutes of consultation, she advised that we have mom go for a bone density test and an x-ray as she thought that the problem was more internal/skeletal rather than muscular or joints-based. She also told the receptionist not to charge us as she, in her words, didn't do anything. I think she's actually done something, at least in setting us to the right direction. Thank you so much, Sarah! That was incredibly lovely and kind of you.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this studio since the beginning of my first pregnancy at 11 weeks. I saw Caitlin for my initial consultation and have continued to see her both in Clinical Pilates sessions, as well as during the Antenatal Pilates classes. Her knowledge of pregnancy and the changes that come with it is brilliant- She’s helped me focus on key areas in order to prevent pregnancy related symptoms as much as possible. She has a warm and friendly nature with great attention to detail. Her classes are always enjoyable and different (yet challenging!). The studio in itself is a very calming and relaxing place to be... I highly recommend Caitlin and Universal Practice!

Fantastic experience: A mother of a toddler and newborn, Universal Practice in Fitzroy, provides me with a space to focus on myself, heal and correct my body which gets worn out by the pressures of day to day life. James has worked with me pre and post pregnancy of my second child to decrease chronic lower pain and correct my core. Thank you James for making what I thought was impossible, happen.

Fantastic experience: All of the classes are small; but the best part about UP is that all classes are taught by approachable and knowledgeable physiotherapists, who can make adjustments to your personal needs. And it doesn't hurt that the space is beautiful too. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: We have purchased two weeks trial pack with my two friends & tried few diffrent classes in the Fitzroy studio unfortunately the insturactors were very rude to us :(

Fantastic experience: Amazing environment. All the instructors are qualified Physios so the exercises are safe and targeting key area. I especially enjoy doing the ropes yoga and Pilates sessions. They pay attention to detail- appropriate space to get changed, offer free tea and moisturiser for example. Highly recommend
