Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Club Lime West End for a couple weeks now, and it’s hands down one of the best gyms in Brisbane! The facilities are always clean and well-maintained, and there’s a wide range of equipment to suit every workout. The atmosphere is friendly and motivating, and the staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, this gym has everything you need, including plenty of space to train. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch gym experience!

Negative experience: Do not join Club Lime. I did and they were OK when I used them. I’ve been trying to cancel my account for a over 10 months and all I’m getting in return in nasty messages and mails with unrealistic additional fees.
Negative experience: Beware, the promotional offers is the wolf in sheep clothing. The promotional offers have been running non-stop since 15 April 2024, the wolf in sheep clothing are the 'random fee increases' and 'hefty cancellation fee'. Yup, 12% hike without notice in membership fee! You read it right. I am a victim like many of their scam. Once their clubs reach certain capacity, they increase the rates, plus their usual 2% increase every 1 July of each year. As for the club, West End is a chaotic and crowded place to train. Well you cannot train. It is not well maintained and certainly very dirty. The strength training section is full of mosquitoes. Like seriously? At night there is this guy who comes to clean, takes him about less than 15 minutes to clean the whole gym. No wonder it is always filthy.
Fantastic experience: First time visiting Brisbane, and. Iealoking for gym to train for the 5 days. I came across this Gym. Smith so many great machines. The pendulum squat, the belt squat and seal row machine. Wow… Really did a number on me. Enjoyed every workout there. Jordan the coach there, was very helpful! A professional and easy friendly guy to chat to. Thanks again mate for allowing to feel comfortable at the gym. Also the members a very friendly. Look forward to Como g back there in the new future. Great location as well.
Negative experience: Poor customer service and filthy gym. During recent visits I have seen the same dead cockroach and moths in the same spots for 3 days in a row. There is one worker who is consistently late to work, which means facilities like the sauna are not opened and ready for use on time. When you send feedback through this is not responded to, to my knowledge this is the responsibility of the area manager Sarah. Overall a disappointing and unpleasant experience.
Negative experience: Some guy who guy who is 5’7 blonde and with a fluffy fringe and goes by the alias ‘glass isn’t broken until dangerous’ touched me in the bathrooms and took his shirt off and flexed in the mirror infront of me thinking it was rizz or whatever the kids say these days
Negative experience: My Mum went to this gym for a little bit, and a bunch of teenage girls spilt water all over her cause she ruined her mirror pictures. My mother came home very upset , not only because of the girls but also because no one did anything about it.
Negative experience: i’m a bit of a sigma gym bro myself but whenever i come to this gym there is a 15 year old 6’4 handsome nordic man with a gigantic deadlift bar down his pants, and i think it is extendable too. What can i say, this man is such a sigma, ladies please be on the lookout for this absolute unit of a human, he truly is the pinnacle of genetic mutation
Negative experience: A blond boy from BSHS called me a fatty and followed me around, making drum-like sound effects every time I took a step. Please sort this out. Very cranky.

Negative experience: I tried to join using the 5 week free pass. Their screen went blank and immediately sent an email asking if there was a problem and that I wasn't sure if it was processed or not. By the time the Monday came the promo was no-longer available, I asked them to honour the promotion since they received my enquiry on the day of the promotion and they declined it.

Negative experience: Went for a look and there was a sweaty Asian guy with his shirt and shoes off rolling around on all the mats. Gross. Hygiene is a basic requirement for me.

Negative experience: My wife and I had been going to this gym for years until Club Lime took over. We paid 12 months membership in advance. Soon after that the club closed all the classes which had attracted us there in the first place. We terminated our membership and were promised a full refund of unconsumed fees. After three months we are still waiting and now we have to go the Small Claims Tribunal to get our money. Terribly disappointing.

Positive experience: Good equipment, helpful staff, and a sauna. Happy I could transfer my membership from Sydney. Only issue is the same as down south: kids hogging the equipment.

Fantastic experience: First Gym in Australia that has a heart for travellers ❤️ Staying only 2 nights in each city it costs a fortune to stay fit. Though every Gym offers free try outs. Here the staff was friendly and let me in for a trial! Big Thanks. The Equipment is state of the art and its not overcrowded. My expereience was 5 stars in total

Negative experience: I was yelled at by the manager for faling a squat and making a loud noise when I dropped the weight on the safety rack. They then got mad at me for “talking back” when I was telling her that it was either bail or die. Toxic gym culture discouraging training hard, be better

Negative experience: Staff are nice and the gym has everything you need. For the price it’s not worth trying to get past groups of teenagers flexing with no clothes on. Lighting is an issue as others have said.

Negative experience: I've been at the gym for a while now, Facilities have always been decent, good gym community and layout. The majority of the staff are exceptionally helpful and kind, whilst some criticise me and my friend's gym attire, wearing jeans, and judging, giving attitude from this. I like the gym, and how everything is set up, yet if you don't want to be in a gym where there is a majority of high school students in the gym, yet some of the staff are disrespectful towards the students, then the gym is not for you.

Positive experience: Great gym and staff are very friendly and helpful... But I have to lend my voice to this lighting issue. It seems like a easy enough solution - just hang a diffuser beneath each light. The alternative is patrons being blinded every time they face the ceiling.

Fantastic experience: I was a frequent user of the West End gym until recently when I moved further away, and closer to another Club Lime gym. I wish I could transport this gym to be my local!! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, there always seems to be a familiar face around even if it's not the official staffed hours. Group classes are great and being able to make use of the group fitness room when it's not in use really adds extra room to the gym. Good amount of machines and all set up in a good order. Change room facilities are also top notch - lots of power points and extra mirror in the changing part of the bathrooms. Other Club Limes need to take note of how West End run!

Negative experience: The dogs charged me during lockdown including late fees which I didn’t know were coming out. I will never give you C.atch U Next Tuesday’s another cent. The staff snicker at you on the way in and out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS Thank you next.

Negative experience: I was a member before the gym Changed ownership , since 2010 . The staffed hours and closing of the sauna at times where people use it should be addressed . The many comments regarding the lights . I have no words really . Using the bench press or anything in laying down position you get blinded by the position of the lights . I wish they didn’t remove the lifting area / platforms and Some of the iso machines . The community feel The the gym had is gone .
Fantastic experience: Love the gym, very clean, alot of machines, good spacing between equipment, a nice area on the side for me to do Powerlifting (a platform would be a bonus), and great value for money. Some good half natty lighting going on too!!
Negative experience: Updated review. After several months going here the facilities are fine, but the roving bands of high-school teens congregating in groups of personal-space-hogging-pretty-fly-for-white-guy and their floating protein farts make for an uncomfortable gym session. My old man grumbles and stares doesn’t stop them crop dusting the gym with their presence.
Negative experience: I like this gym in overall however it really annoys me the sauna is opened only until 7:00 pm. Given that there are clases starting at 6:30 pm, sauna should be opened at least until 8:00 pm to allow muscle recovering for people who unfortunately work until late and can only come in the evening. Not fair as I am paying the same as the others and should be able to enjoy sauna too.
Negative experience: I thought after the various issues raised with the lighting, they would have done something about it by now! I understand that it probably wasn't priority during a pandemic - but surely something that can have a bit more focus put on it?
Negative experience: Club lime is a scam. Refused to cancel membership and continued to deduct funds for weeks and weeks.
Negative experience: Seriously , this gym has the worst lights that I’ve ever been exposed to . I try not to see them a lot but I’ve been with headaches many times after abs , or using the leg press or some benches. Yes, I try to do my exercises with a towel on my head but it’s not normal feeling blind after seeing them . I’m thinking in going with sunglasses or paying other place .

Negative experience: Healthworks was better. Club lime is dark and the lights are terrible. They reduced the opening hours, so facilities will be closed most of the time.
Negative experience: Pretty poor service since they change to Lime. wrong hours advertised, they change opening time whatever they feel like without notice. Inside is just extremely dark and the lights are very bad. Talk with staff is absolute no help.
Negative experience: The staff are attentive and knowledgeable; however, if the new owners are gonna rave about giving to local community but ignore the huge problem they have presented to their immediate clients by NOT filtering those killing lights they shouldn’t be surprised to get negative feedback. Admit you’ve made a mistake, recognise that ‘dimmers’ are not acceptable, change the bloody lights! I’ve lost patience, thee are great deals being offered by other gyms and I’m ready to walk away. Haven’t been able to bench press under those lights!!
Negative experience: Awful. I’ve been working out in this building for over 10 years. Lime took over and put in lighting that’s so intense it produces a startle effect. Stressful instead of useful. Despite clients complaining for months nothing changes. Look for somewhere better.
Negative experience: Lime destroyed what was once the best weightlifting gym in Brisbane. Not only did they completely gut the free-weights section of what used to be the old Healthworks, they also removed the mural, removed the punching-bags, and repainted the whole place in this weird, dark, depressingly black colour-scheme. Really disappointing, look elsewhere if you're a weightlifter, this place sucks now.
Positive experience: Don't think bright lights is that big of a deal, but is something that definitely be improved Can be busy when classes are running but it's fine Good facilities as a casual gym goer

Positive experience: Large gym, no frills but has everything you need
Negative experience: This gym used to operate under the Healthworks banner and I was a member since its inception at this location (early 2011). Healthworks was great but by late last year was in need of an update. Before that could happen, they were purchased by VIVA Leisure and turned into a Club Lime facility. This new gym is unfortunately not what the former was. Core pieces of equipment (such as proper squat racks with safety bars) have been omitted. The floor is a softer material, which although is nice to walk on, is counter-productive for even moderately serious strength work (squat, deadlift) as it results in power loss during explosive movements. My biggest two issues however are the lighting and changes to staffed hours. The lighting is oppressive to say the least, and completely blinding when doing any flat or incline bench work such as chest or shoulder presses. I sincerely hope whoever designed this is no longer employed by VIVA, or anywhere within the health industry. The staffed hours need extending from the current 7pm closing to 8pm, similar to before. Getting home from work then getting to the gym for a sauna becomes near impossible, as by the time you arrive it is usually in the process of closing. For those of us working corporate roles, this additional time would make a huge difference. In summary, the changes required to improve the overall customer experience are minimal and easily implemented. Hopefully management take on board the feedback they have been receiving and actually make them.
Negative experience: Not Recommended. Large Gym Organisation. The staff are helpful and the equipment adequate, but this organisation employs what I perceive as predatory and unethical business practices to take advantage of consumers. Convoluted sign up process, lengthy lock-in contracts and arbitrary cancellation processes ensure you will regret signing up with this gym. Viva Leisure (Who owns Club Lime) has 60,000 members in Australia. One questions how many of these members are currently dormant, not actively attending the gym but having their funds siphoned regardless. I was told they don’t check member attendance (only whether or not they have paid their bills). Well it feels as if their financial departments and actuaries have carefully considered the pros and cons of taking advantage of consumers, and they have deemed that burning customers is more profitable than doing the right thing, a calculation that relies on the good will of your average Australian. So I write this review in hopes that it dissuades a single customer from signing up, if only to make their objectionable business strategies slightly less profitable. I would recommend seeking a small business owned gym. The contracts are often more fair (if they even have contracts), with no signup or cancellation costs, the business owners are the faces you see everyday and the people you get to know. In my experience they’re more deserving and more grateful for your patronage. Thanks for reading.
Hi Simon. Club Lime locations do not have lock in contracts at any of our locations, so the information you mention is incorrect. We have not had lock in contracts for over 15 years. We offer a 28 day cancellation notice period.
Negative experience: After the changes the lights are blinding me, unfortunately this was not well planned before.
