Fantastic experience: Beyond Movement is such an incredible studio that is not to be missed! Lots of talented people! I am very grateful to have come across it! I wanted to dive more into hand balancing & calisthenics to translate it, as well to Circus & Cheerleading! I find it very fascinating. I think it is such a wonderful craft & so much to learn! This place is a home to me. I wish I could go nearly every day but having a long work schedule & living quite a distance makes it sometimes difficult however it is always a personal priority for me. For example; sometimes, sacrificing my sleep by going to the early morning classes despite working a late night. The very experienced & fantastic Coach, Jason provides lots of help for his students. He provides a wide range of drills & progressions to help you further advance. The trainings include a balance of fun sometimes, socialising with the people to know one another & connect on a different aspect aside from what we are training. I think that’s super important with the challenges you face, otherwise you would want to quit. I love the people at the studio. They are very mature & despite them being older than me showcase incredible skills, with the several years of their hard work. It really shows! Can’t wait to see where I might go! The other Coach Rachael is a wonderful coach that explains everything with lots of detail & precision & would always try to explain it in a different way to help you understand. The one who helps manage the studio is always very informative & helpful & committed. It’s a place that you should definitely consider checking out if are in living in South-East suburbs of Melbourne or if you are visiting Melbourne!

Fantastic experience: Gym with a difference. Jason personalises training for each person based on their abilities. Great community atmosphere in the gym and everyone is friendly and encouraging. If you're looking to ace your upper body strength, this place is for you. I've only joined for 6 weeks and have already noticed huge gains.

Fantastic experience: I was a member here for about five years until I moved away from the Peninsula. I’ve trained at various gyms across Melbourne, including boxing gyms, CrossFit-style, and standard 24/7 gyms. While I still drop in occasionally, nothing compares to what Beyond Movement offers. The coaches are incredibly enthusiastic and experienced, consistently pushing you to reach your best. They excel at adjusting techniques and providing substitute movements to accommodate injuries. During my time there, I participated in a nutrition challenge with the guidance of Will and Elaine, which significantly impacted how I looked, trained, and understood nutrition. My favorite gym by a country mile! I highly recommend it to anyone, whether you’re just starting out or exercise regularly.
Fantastic experience: Review for Beyond Movement, Rosebud We started our fitness journey with Beyond Movement many years ago when Will first opened up, and it’s been an incredible experience ever since. The team are welcoming, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping everyone achieve their fitness goals. Even after moving to Hervey Bay, whenever we return to visit family, we always make it a point to drop in for a session. It feels like coming home, and the high-quality training never disappoints. Beyond Movement is truly a special place, and we can’t recommend it enough!
Fantastic experience: I'm 50 yo & came across after quite a few years of Crossfit. My body was broken from the high intensity. I was often injured and my back was done! Found Beyond Movement and am enjoying the training philosophy. It's more holistic in its approach in regards to practicing strength, mobility and skills through the entire range of movement. I really enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes from, for example, achieving a good hand balance or the first strict muscle up! It's also encouraging to see the advanced skills that members have achieved over time with Jason's training. Definitely a marathon, not a sprint! Jason, Shaz and the other members make it an inclusive & fun environment. After only a few months I feel my body is more resilient and injury free. I feel I have more energy and feel good through the day. Give it a try. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Being able to hold a freestanding handstand has been a fitness goal of mine for many years. This year, I finally decided to do something about it! I started training at Beyond Movement and I haven't looked back. BM introduced a whole new fitness world for me. In addition to learning proper hand balance techniques, I have grasped the fundamentals of gymnastic rings and callisthenics which I absolutely love. Under Jason's guidance I continue to see positive progress in each of the disciplines. I also love the casual but focused energy at the studio. Everyone is on their own fitness journey and they are so encouraging and respectful to one another. It's also inspiring to see those who consistently put in the hard work get stronger and level up on their skills.

Fantastic experience: After having damaged both of my shoulder joints in previous physical endeavours, I found Beyond Movement to be the perfect fit for me to safely increase both the strength, and the stability of my shoulders again. With the coaches' elite knowledge of mobility and bodyweight strength progressions, I'm feeling much more confident pursuing physical goals that I otherwise may not have considered achievable. I have particularly enjoyed levelling up my hand balancing skills under the guidance of coach Jason. The atmosphere/culture of the gym is one of sincere support and encouragement, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone of any strength level/age bracket.

Fantastic experience: I started training at Beyond Movement because I was keen to improve my handstand and was seeking specialised coaching in hand balancing. Since becoming a member I have also taken on classes in strength and mobility, which compliment the practice of hand balancing wonderfully, and open the door to more difficult skills. The training is catered to each student's individual needs and goals, and the culture is highly supportive and fun. The type of people who become regulars at BM tend to be disciplined, focused, accountable, friendly and humble - it's a great community of people to be a part of. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I cannot highly recommend Beyond Movement enough. Jason and the team are just the greatest. I started training coming off the back of a long and bad back injury and I've started to build back my strength and confidence. The progress I have made in only a few months has been fantastic. From not being able to do one pullup to now being able to do four. Not being able to do one dip to now doing seven. I couldn't handstand when I started and now I can hold for a few seconds unassisted and a minute assisted. The flexibility classes have greatly improved my flexibility which has helped me have more control of my muscles which helps everyday and also when in the gym. Everything together has helped me get stronger as well as feeling more comfortable with less pain in my body and my confidence is coming back. I would recommend anyone come down and try this gym. Jason is the best instructor and can work with you at any level.

Fantastic experience: Bought a new movers pass during a recent trip to Melbourne. Incredible value for money as an intro to this style of training. The staff and other participants are knowledgeable, welcoming and approachable. Jason very quickly assesses your level and needs, even if you don’t know it yourself, and tailors the training appropriately. This gym is suitable for every body of every age and I can’t recommend what is happening in this space highly enough. Zero experience necessary but limitless possibilities. Get involved, it’s really exciting!

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for over 1 year now and absolutely love training with Jason! His structured programme allows me to become stronger, more mobile and improve my balance. You are always surprised with what your body is capable of! Honestly a great place to train as everyone is super friendly, engaging and encouraging - doesn’t matter what fitness level, we all move at the same pace for warm ups/downs. We may break off to do different level activity, but we all still work with one another. If you are looking to get your first handstand or first pull/chin up or have the perfect push up, then you cannot go past Beyond Movement. Highly recommend giving it a try :))

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Jason for 18 months now and have gone from strength to strength. I came with a good base of strength and beginner hand balance skill and Jason has been able to build on that so rapidly. Jason has an acute attention to detail is highly skilled in being able to individualize and his work ethic is exceptional. “Just put your hands on the ground” is not just a mantra, it’s becoming a way of life for me. Jason is interested in smart and purposeful training, there’s no unnecessary fluff. As a personal trainer myself, I respect his approach and appreciate his knowledge and wisdom. Sharon also gets a shout out for being friendly and organized and keeping everything running smoothly! And we can’t forget Leia, the standard of work ethic extends to Jason’s dog too!

Fantastic experience: Once you try the New Mover trial week with Beyond Movement, it will become the most valuable movement you've ever made! You will quickly discover why you will want to keep going back; your body and mind will BOTH be better off! This class-based calisthenics gym is run incredibly well. I immediately felt the warmest of welcomes from Sharon, the adminstrative coordinator, from Jason, the principle coach, and importantly, from all the many regulars that attend. (A special thanks to Sharon for so routinely using everyone's names...you need to know how amazingly helpful those frequent name drops were in helping me feel comfortable getting to know people!) Getting a personalised program for upper body development to work on each week was key to my success and enjoyment. And never did I imagine that handstand classes would be so rewarding! I mean, I'm even doing a "handstand retreat" weekend with Beyond Movement, soon! Loving it ! By far the most important of my enjoyment has been the calibre of the 'students" that attend. Everyone is just awesome, friendly and we all help motivate and celebrate our wins. This culture is a testament to the Beyond Movement mindset, and especially coach Jason Borg. Jason's knowledge and experience is vast, together with a teaching style that is so engaging. Yes, Jason truly cares for your success. I really value his interest in teaching the 'best' form, and a focus on quality foundations as you work hard to advance. So many good things to say...add in the intermittent social events, the variable class activities to keep us interested (not just challenged!), the well kept facilities and the equipment that support great progress... Let's just say...wow. I'll be attending here for years to come! If you're wavering, don't...take that step to try it out....okay...now where can I fit that Rings class in my schedule? LoL

Fantastic experience: Very nice gym full of people who care. More expensive than a Crunch Fitness (or similar) membership, but you get the value back with the structure, health and social benefits that can't be matched by traditional training. IE - it's a lot easier to reach your goals when you have a bunch of friendly people to help out. Also, it's a lot more fun to learn how to do handstands, swing on bars, and turn into a table (while getting fit at the same time) than hurl the same weights every week, with no additional skills to show for it ️

Fantastic experience: I came to Beyond in 2019 to improve my strength & flexi so that i could be better at football. The training was hard & humbling as this was the first time i was not using gym equipment & just my own bodyweight. As soon as i felt comfortable & strong at an exercise, i was given the next progression to work on, which was very different to the weight room experience. Apart from the strength & flexibility gains, i feel energetic throughout the day, concentration & stamina to do day-to-day task has significantly increased. If you are considering training at Beyond I absolutely recommend it as the support offered by Jason & Sharon is exceptional. Wish you well on your journey!

Fantastic experience: Having met Jason a few years back at a gym that I worked at, I was inspired by him doing something completely different to every other gym goer. He was holding handstands for 60+ seconds! This was insane to see, because I didn't even have any courage to try balance on my hands. I had the privilege to chat with Jason on numerous accounts, who was always so humble when talking about his own training, and mentioned on several occasions that his students inspired him. A down-right genuine person you want as a mentor and coach. I knew that I wanted to one day learn how to handstand, and I knew that Jason was going to be the one to teach me. So in the last quarter of '22, after not having trained myself for at least 2 months, I bit the bullet, and decided to buy a trial pass. It was the best thing I did because I found myself inspired to train for something again. The community of students also continuing to learn and develop their skills, each and every day, are all so humble and genuine. A hugely supportive place for anyone new to the skill of body weight training or the more advanced athletes. I appreciate all the time and effort Jason and Shazz put into making this place truly awesome. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Recommend beyond movement to everyone no matter where you are in you training!!! I started beyond movement to assist with my pole dancing training and in fact stayed with beyond movement because it’s given me the strength, confidence and understanding on quality movement and safe training to avoid further injuries that I had sustained prior to training here and most importantly my body feels a lot stronger in and away from training !!!!

Fantastic experience: It is hard to describe how holistically knowledgeable Jason is. Been training a year, private sessions. In that time my running volume, mobility, handstand, flexibility, powerlifting have all improved, without the need for constant massages, osteos, physios every 2 weeks. Confidence in my body is back and it is growing stronger, faster and more mobile everyday. There is no shortcut. With the strong mobility, stretching and handstand guidance from Jason, I have essentially restructured my body from the ground up after significant injury. Results speak for themselves. Faster runs, more volume during runs, lifting heavy in the gym, flexibility is better, and I'm doing handstands of all things as well. Feel the best I have been, and look the best I have been in a long time. Integrating Jason's perspective and knowledge into your training will no doubt improve your fitness. Don't sleep on it.

Fantastic experience: As a "young at heart" handstand enthusiast, Beyond Movement delivers on all fronts. The shoulder conditioning has massively improved my shoulder mobility, and the hip flexibility classes have opened the door to an unexpected range of movement. Combined with (1) a supportive and structured approach to hand-balancing, (2) Coach Jason's never-ending enthusiasm, & (3) an ego-free training community, you get a training space worth coming back to again & again.

Fantastic experience: Having previously trained at a calisthenics gym, I was excited to find Beyond Movement. Offering online classes it allowed me to train at home. Fantastic experience: I am so pleased that I found Beyond Movement. It is exactly what I was looking for and more. Fantastic experience: When I first found Beyond Movement, I went and checked it out and it is exactly what I was looking for! A place to train and reach my goal to one day do a muscle up. The facilities are great and have everything I need for my training, but more than that, it’s the friendly and supportive community. Training is a journey, and Jason is an excellent coach who pushes me to go that bit further to progress toward my goals. One day I will get that muscle up and maybe even a one arm handstand! Fantastic experience: I started taking classes at Beyond Movement with the primary focus being to gain greater control of my handstand. Over the past 9 months I have made huge progress with my handstand and due to BM's unique and well considered programming I have also increased my overall strength and gained some other pretty neat tricks too. Fantastic experience: Beyond movement is an amazing place to train, i spent 4 years in the army training hard and pushing myself to the limit. when I started training here doing new movements and exercises I found a new challenge that was greatly beneficial to my goals, Highly recommend.

I've previously done calisthenics/movement based classes overseas but Beyond's style of training is different - it is personalised in a group setting and everyone gets to progress at their own pace and hit their own goals which is great! Fantastic experience: Beyond movement has become my happy place in the last few months. One of the best decisions I have ever made. With the help of very supportive coaches and an inspiring environment the initial intimidation of handstands and rings quickly vaporised to enthusiasm and absolute joy. This place stretches the limits of the things a person thinks is capable of doing with human body. Each day you will discover new things your body is capable of doing. Fantastic experience: I've been training at Beyond Movement for 6 weeks and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made! I've fallen in love with Calisthenics and the atmosphere and trainers/students at Beyond Movement. I'm still an amateur but I've learnt so much in such a short time. The coaches are extremely passionate and knowledgeable, if you can't do a certain exercise they will give you a regressed version to work on until you are capable. I'm really excited to be a part of this family and continue my Calisthenics journey with these amazing people! If you're thinking about signing up I highly suggest coming down for a week and meeting everybody.

Positive experience: I was with Beyond Movement for 3 months. As a new member, I was a little unsure what it would be like to join a tight knit group where many of the students can perform calisthenics that I might never be able to achieve. They basically run an advanced and beginners group. What I found is that even though the training is all class based, we are all on our individual journeys. The coaches show you where your weaknesses are and guide you on how to overcome them. After a group warm up, we are given individualised exercise challenges to guide our progress through the world of calisthenics. When you learn to conquer a certain task, the coaches and fellow students are really happy for you. I found this encouraging. Then it's on to the next challenge in this never ending sport. The coaches are going through the same process themselves as they are continually learning new movements. Meanwhile you are continually improving your strength and mobility without even realising it. I was disappointed for me that when I moved to the Level Nine gym in Nunawading I was dumped completely from Beyond Movement's social media as I thought I was part of their family. I felt like if you are not training in their gym they really don't want to know you. It sure was a shame to end on a negative note. So I am going to give their training 5/5 but friendliness 0/5. Averages at 2.5 so I will give them 3/5

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for keeping me motivated with trianing during isolation! Amazing remote group classes which are well personalised to suit our individual skill sets. Always a laugh and the highlight of my day. I've made so much progress towards my life long goal to hand balance, made incredible active flexibility improvements and strenght gains with the tribe at beyond Movement in only two short months. Fantastic experience: After years of yoga practice and gym work, I was yearning for a training facility where I could advance my skills and found what was I was looking for at Beyond Movement. I enjoy the conditioning training and am surprised by the progress I am making since joining. Beyond Movement provides specialised training in handstand and gymnastic rings. One can see, from advanced students who began their training at a basic level, that the training is effective and rewarding. The classes are challenging, satisfying and enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: Beyond movement is great, the trainers are nothing but supportive and are always there to help me reach my fitness goals. Everyone who attends the classes are friendly and always offer word of encouragement when you need to do that one more pushup. Overall a great place to move beyond your limits.

Fantastic experience: Since training at Beyond Movement I have significantly improved my flexibility, strength, core and mobility. The coaches are amazing and cater to all skill levels. It is challenging but very rewarding. Great environment to learn.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training at Beyond movement for over a year now and the change in my body has been amazing.The rings class with coach Jason is the most l have benefited from as a Crossfit athlete,it has strengthened my wrist and shoulders.Infact l no longer need wrist wraps anymore and my mobility is %100 better in all movements. I highly recommend Beyond movementAlso it’s a great environment with great people .

Fantastic experience: Beyond Movement is an awesome place to train if you are looking for a new challenge. Every class is challenging and will only push you to be better than you were yesterday. The coaches get to know you, your strengths and weaknesses, so that they can make you stronger and better. I have never been to a place where the coaches care so much about your wellbeing and only want the best for you. You also gain a whole new family in this community! Everyone is so helpful, supportive and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough, and it's very beginner friendly :)

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Beyond Movement since the beginning of the year and I'm really glad I found them. The training facilities are amazing. Jason and all the trainers are so knowledgeable, supportive and outstanding in what they do. The people who train there are friendly and it's lot of fun to train and progress together. I don't think I'll ever go back to a traditional gym. I've learnt and grown so much since joining Beyond Movement.

Fantastic experience: Beyond Movement is a great training facility in a thoroughly encouraging environment. The trainers are amazing and work with your abilities at all levels. I enjoy going to Beyond Movement compared to other fitness classes because of the fun and supportive environment.
Fantastic experience: Jason and all the trainers at Beyond Movement have a special gift in not only training you physically, but mentally as well. Their approach to fitness is unlike any other 'gym'. The methodology, great coaching and supportive environment motivates you to smash goals you've set or didn't even know you wanted to achieve! Above all, its hard work but continues to be fun every lesson. You leave a class sore (the good soreness), but always with a smile on your face :)

I was so done with the usual types of gyms. Beyond movement was my perfect answer!! Fantastic experience: Joined Beyond Movement after becoming sick and tired of going to the gym lifting weights 3-4 times a week for 10 years. Needed to challenge myself and my body in different ways and from the outset I realized this was the place for me. Becoming more flexible, functional and stronger. Meeting great people and intensive coaching in hand balance, gymnastic rings, levers, hip strength and flexibility the list goes on. Beyond is accepting of people at all different levels of fitness and will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses and help you find your niche. Jason and the crew are professionals and will only challenge you to get better. I strongly recommend you come down and give it a go.
Fantastic experience: Since starting at Beyond Movement i've stretched and moved my body in positions i didnt know were possible along with gaining pure body strength, invaluble knowledge and noticing rapid body transormation. Fantastic experience: I have found training at Beyond Movement to be so much more challenging and rewarding than aesthetics based training at a regular gym. Jason and the Beyond coaches are very good at tailoring workouts to what you need to improve on. This style of training improves strength, mobility and flexibility and I have enjoyed every moment of it in a supportive and fun environment.

Fantastic experience: Great class this morning Jason, I'd never done a pull over before, I will definitely be working on that. Beyond is like a playground, there is so much choice I don't know what to throw myself into first. Fantastic experience: I have been a member of BEYOND MOVEMENT since it opened in June 2016. Not your normal gym, Beyond Movement focuses on Bodyweight Training - strength, flexibility & balance along with Bootcamp classes allowing people to train at their own pace & allows us to find our own potential. All classes are different & I love using the bars for improving strength on my shoulder injury. I would highly recommend Beyond Movement for anyone who is looking for a new way to train, have fun while your doing it & become part of the awesome Beyond Movement Team!
