Fantastic experience: I got a week pass while I was on holidays in Yamba. It was a seamless experience signing up online and paying in the gym. I attended some classes and Matty made sure to check in with me that I knew what I was doing, and pair me up with regular members who could show me. It was an incredibly welcoming gym.

Fantastic experience: We have just spent 2.5 weeks at Yamba and found this great gym! The equipment is excellent, the rates really reasonable and it is accessible in non staffed hours as well. But l have to mention Matt, the owner and trainer. His group classes are fantastic. Challenging, different and he is an excellent coach. The 9.am group were so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit!!

Fantastic experience: I’m so lucky to have found The Gym. When I started training with Matty I had zero experience in a gym and didn’t know how to do the most basic exercises. But Matty was the most amazing teacher who not only pushed me but taught me the correct way to do things. Fast forward a couple of months and I feel so much healthier and more confident. The Gym is for anyone - no matter your skill level, age or fitness. It’s got all the equipment you could need and everyone there is friendly and supportive. 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: This is such a great gym. I was visiting Yamba from Canada and it was such a friendly environment. Matt has great group programs and always check ins and corrects people form so they are doing it correctly. I will definitely going back when I am back in Yamba. Highly recommend if you are in the Yamba area.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful gym in Yamba that we have been coming to for many years. Could do with a few more cardio machines but the variety of weight machines and free weights is phenomenal. Easy to access and open 24/7 which makes it the ideal gym in Yamba.

Fantastic experience: Traveling the east coast from Germany and I’ve been to a lot of gyms all around Europe and America and I must say this is one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. Compared to its price definitely THE best. Equipment brand new, always empty, great vibe, perfectly clean, literally has everything you need and more. A little town like Yamba is probably the last place I’d think of to have something like this. Truly amazing. Forget every other gym in the area this is the gym you are looking for.

The sessions are fantastic, being taught the correct way to do things makes a world of difference to not only your workout but the recovery. Never thought I’d say I look forward to the 6am starts .. Fantastic experience: When I first moved to Yamba 10 years ago, Matt and The Gym family made me feel so welcome! I had a little time away from thegym Yamba, opening my own and also training elsewhere, and two years ago I came back, and felt like this is exactly where I wanted to be! I can honestly say that what Matt has created at TheGym Yamba is an environment anyone can feel comfortable in. It’s fun, supportive and hard work. Matt will never let you get away with performing a movement without correct form, he encourages everyone to push themselves and believe in themselves when it comes to their fitness goals. Whether your young, mature, an athlete or beginner you will never feel out of place. BEST GYM IN THE CLARENCE VALLEY!

Fantastic experience: I have recently completed the 6 week challenge at The Gym. I felt comfortable walking into the gym from day one Matt’s style of training is fantastic. The group sessions are for all levels from beginners to advanced all training together, some how he makes it all work so well! And fun! Matt is very knowledgeable, and is hands on with showing correct technique with exercises and encouraging to push yourself to reach new goals. Fantastic experience: I have been training at The Gym in Yamba for around 2 years and absolutely love the classes! There is so much variety and lots of space to work out. Matt has been super helpful in correcting my technique and there is so many lovely people to train with. Definitely check it out if your next in town!

Fantastic experience: I was there on vacation. Pretty good gym with good squat racks in sth like a hangar. In the gym is a good atmosphere for working out and the air in there is also good. It’s definitely a good place to exercise and the coaches are also very kind and courteous. So to summarize, you have everything you need for a good workout there and the staff is also good. So 5 ⭐️

Fantastic experience: 100% recommend The Gym Yamba. Is it weird to say that a gym makes you feel comfortable? Haha. I have never been a gym person, I was one of those people that thought I would walk into a gym and feel judged because I didn’t know how to use a single machine or do a certain workout. But since starting at ‘The Gym’ (epic name by the way) I have started feeling confident despite not knowing what I’m doing because I know that the trainer 100% knows his stuff. Matt explains the workout so that you can understand what you are doing and what you are trying to achieve from a certain muscle/activity. Even in a group class you are not just a number you still get personalised advice, every.. single.. time! Thank you Matt you for changing the way I see gyms.

Fantastic experience: Matty is a pro. He offers a wholesome and comprehensive mindset to working out. I am personally not a gym person but attended for a month to get my body moving again. Matty motivates you and pushes you in a respectful and supportive manner so you stay consistent. The gym is well setup and you can feel a good sense of community. Matt will individually assist and challange you. He is very knowledgeable and gets you moving safetly to feel your best. I would recommend this gym to anyone who doesnt feel the need for external validation, who wants to work and focus on their PB. Matty and anyone attending classes will help you.

Fantastic experience: I live in Sydney and holiday in Yamba about 3 times a year. I've been going to Matty's gym since he opened. I keep going back cause Matt's a great trainer and motivator. Year on year, Matty has been making improvements and he is always investing - he has an awesome setup with loads of equipment and very clean too. The people that train there are great and there is a real sense of community.

Fantastic experience: It is incredible to be able to take my toddler and work out. She has such a good time and enjoys being used as a human weight when she needs some love. The classes are great and Matty is passionate, truely cares about your technique and helping you get fitter. What a champ! Not an intimidating gym at all. A really friendly atmosphere with people there to get the job done. Highly recommended for anyone, but especially to mum's with little ones as there is a play area set up and an environment for you to do something for yourself while you have your child in tow.

Fantastic experience: I've never been a gym person. I find franchise gyms that I've been to in the past boring, intimidating, and lack personal touch. After participating in one of The Gym's 6 week programs, I've now become somewhat of a gym person. I love the personal attention that the trainers give to everyone, they are super helpful and supportive. I especially like how open it is, so I never feel like I'm coped up inside not enjoying the beautiful Yamba weather. The classes are awesome(although at the time I often don't think so...haha) and suited to anyone of any ability. Great place to get fitter, faster, stronger!!

Fantastic experience: Excellent facility with awesome trainers, love the fact that we do lots of strength training and not just thrown on a treadmill which is boring! I can now do a chin up, which I thought was impossible. Have been a member for over a year now and will remain a member for years to come.

Negative experience: Too small and dirty for my liking, like a sauna in there... My wife passed out due to the heat and the trainer kept badgering her to get up barely looking at her to notice she was actually out cold. In terms of training, it's all the same, spine breaking tire flips etc, nothing good for building strength or muscle size, all pseudo crossfit routines made for time, not for functionality, weight loss/gain or strength. All in all, probably the top 2 worst gyms I've ever been to, I will not be stopping in the next time I holiday in Yamba, I will return to one of the other modern and close-to-town gyms.

Fantastic experience: Wicked setup and awesome trainer - very knowledgable and facility far superior to any other. Great for any level of fitness, including beginners! Two. Thumbs. Up!!
