Plus Fitness Manly

Negative experience: Tiny gym, have moved to Anytime Fitness in Manly which is a lot better. Their contract terms are extortionate - read the fine print. If you enter into a fixed term contract with them and pay the cancellation fee then you are still on the hook for 28 days after that. I tried multiple times via email and phone to get in touch to cancel my contract - three emails (no response) and one voice mail (no response) - I had to take time out of my work day just to have the privilege of being able to go in person to cancel and pay the cancellation fee. For a similar price you can go to Anytime fitness which has better staff, a proper app and a better gym. It's on me that I didn't read the TOS but also I've now read the the TOS for Anytime and it is a lot more reasonable (you don't have to pay a cancellation fee and then 28 days worth of gym fees as i did in my case)

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym with various machine. Open 24/7

Negative experience: Doing a trial here - no showers. But worse, I’m going to say go prepared to have no toilets. Twice I’ve been in outside of staffed hours and no tags have been available to go out into the building to use toilets. I had to leave the other day before staff arrived at 10am to find a bathroom. So BE PREPARED. Especially pregnant women, or those who’ve just had kids, or older women, or just anyone who may need to use a toilet!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, new machines, friendly staff. Everything you need.

Negative experience: It’s the smallest PF branch I have ever been to, but the reason I am giving them 2 stars is because it's unbelievable that they DON'T HAVE SHOWERS!!! What's the point of doing a renovation and not putting in showers? Now I can’t do my workout and shower afterward before work that is nearby, makes no sense.

Fantastic experience: Good gym with the friendliest staff. Matthew and his coworker helped me out when I needed a short term contract, great customer service. Gym has all the equipment you need.

Positive experience: This gym is fantastic! It has all the equipment you could possibly need for a great workout, and the pricing is very reasonable. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help. Plus, it’s never overly crowded, so you can enjoy your sessions without waiting around.

Positive experience: Local gym, which is now a Plus Fitness, that's had various franchise owners over the years. Sufficient machines and free weights for your workout needs. Can get busy at peak times (understandably).

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this particular gym for about 14 years and in that time have seen many ‘change of guards.’ I feel the establishment have finally got the ‘recipe’ right in how a gym should be run well. Young Matt, the manager, may be in his 20’s but is really savvy and professional. He and his two young female staff members, Maddy and Ela are very friendly, helpful and always happy in their greeting of the clients as they enter and exit the gym. The gym is cleaned regularly and is spotless and the paper dispensers are ALWAYS full. I also have noticed when new members sign up, either Matt, Maddy or Ela will take the time to show and demonstrate the equipment that the gym has. I have never seen that done before. And more importantly, the young team do it willingly. Moreover, there is a more genuinely good feel to this ‘village’ type gym. I feel all the members enjoy coming and working out. A vast improvement. Fabulous team. Keep up the good work and vibes, guys.

Negative experience: It's very hard to stop my membership. Personal from this gym told me several times it was done and money was still getting charged into my account. After several times I called and tried to fix the issue no one gives me a solution. They answer with excuses. Very bad experience I don't recommend.

Positive experience: Not a bad gym has everything you need. It is a bit expensive from what I'm used to. The 24 hour openness is nice, but unfortunately theres not employees there very often so you tap the card to enter, and twice it happened to me where someone walked in behind and I got warnings from Plusfitness security. I even confronted the person who walked in behind me but they told me not to worry. Just make sure if you tap in that no one walks in behind you, or you will take the fall.
