Genesis Health + Fitness Rutherford

Negative experience: Not impressed with this gym When I entered the gym, I was told that I need an adult with me to sign me into the gym when I was (16 years of age) I told the lady my age. After a pretty good workout for the first time at a public gym I was pretty impressed with the environment around, shortly after when I left the gym I was charged an ABSURD $20 for only being there 45 minutes and got a protein chocolate milk for $8, so not really impressed with its policy but I encourage future people reading this to be mindful that if you are (under 16) than you need a parent with you to sign you in which in my opinion is totally unnecessary, and to be prepared for the ridiculous price. Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym and team

Positive experience: Yeah pretty good atmosphere and people there and the quality of most machines are good, but we could use a few more 20kg plates and a pec fly machine like the one in Maitland.

Positive experience: Greetings, As I visit Genesis Rutherford everyday, I'm glad to say my experience their is very positive. The people their are hard working and determined and they're not afraid to lend a hand when I'm failing my PR on the bench press. The staff are friendly and welcoming when I walk in the gym with my friends. Genesis Rutherford has helped me and will continue to assist me in reaching my fitness and health goals with the use of the quality equipment and facilities. cheerio, Tom.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I’ve ever been to by far! Great people working here to help with anything you need! Always clean and the cleaning stations are always set up with plenty of wet wipes/paper towels!

Fantastic experience: I'm a big fan of Genesis gyms. They're all good. But Rutherford has the best team, and the best manager by far. Always good for a chat, and know all their members. All amenities are clean, and I've never seen equipment out of action for very long. The best!

Fantastic experience: I've just joined but l'm excited. The place is huge with so much equipment to use & is the only fitness club that l've been to that doesn't smell of stale sweat.

Negative experience: I would give 0 stars if I could. I went in to the branch to cancel my husbands membership as he has recently been diagnosed with cancer. I offered to provide a medical certificate if they required one, to possibly wave a cancellation fee they mentioned. This request was denied by them, with absolutely zero compassion by the manager. I was offered a hold to be placed on the account, for an illness like cancer this is a complete joke. This behaviour is disgusting! What if it was your partner who was in this position?

Fantastic experience: great place to workout. No judgement zone. Can go in do your own thing without having to worry about anything other than your goals.

Fantastic experience: An inclusive environment. Very welcoming staff. Many different options and a variety of classes. Access to childcare. Women's sauna. Great program with fitness measurement system that I have found extremely helpful and motivating.

Fantastic experience: Genesis Rutherford have plenty of equipment with a nice big area for free weights, stretching/core zone and their seperate coaching zone space. The gym is clean and quite spacious. I've enjoyed taking classes here as the instructors are very friendly and encourage you to do your best at your individual level. Staff have been helpful and welcoming, you're always greeted! I don't have kids, but the little ones that do use the creche always look like they're having fun! The online booking system and 24hr access key makes it so easy for shift workers to stay accountable. Very happy customer!

Positive experience: Quite a decent gym

Fantastic experience: Excellent facility to train within. Our family have used these facilities and there is ample parking, the staff are great and the business is applying the covid safe rules appropriately to ensure all users are comfortable with using the facilities.

Negative experience: A complaint to Fair Trading was the only way to sort out our ongoing issues with them. Steve Cook regional manager is ridiculous. How hard is it to cancel a membership or reply to an email.

Negative experience: In times like these one would expect a company have some sort of a understanding for difficult times people are going through. My girlfriend has moved out of Rutherford almost a year ago, yet did forget to cancel her subscription with this gym straight away. She remembered to cancel a month or so after she moved, so she rang the gym regarding canceling the subscription. Everything was confirmed over the phone, that it is canceled and done. 6 months later, she has received an email saying, that she owes over $600 in unpaid subscription, so she rang the gym again and, HERE IT COMES, they have confirmed that the cancellation form was opened but not finished and that it is their fault completely, but there is nothing they can do and she still needs to pay? This behavior is just atrocious, disgusting and I hope you will go out of business for practices like these in times like these.

Fantastic experience: Genesis Rutherford is a well run gym with plenty of staff with experience that encourage you to achieve your goals. The gym is always clean and the members are always working hard.

Fantastic experience: I have always love genesis gym and was a member for some time. Due to personal and work commitments I had to leave. Years later I have rejoined the genesis family once again. Rutherford Genesis has a great vibe, supportive and motivational staff, great facility and enough variety in classes and equipment to keep 'bored easily' people like me on our toes! I'm so happy to be back and highly recommend Genesis Rutherford as its just such a fantastic gym.

Fantastic experience: Finally joined the gym in a bid to regain some fitness again after having four babies in 7 years. So far staff have been more than accomodating and so friendly! I have joined the coaching zone challenge which I am so pumped for. The best thing is the coaches correcting and ensuring form is good which was a concern for me as I didn’t want to cause any injuries! Even in the large group cardio camp class the instructor took time out to correct my form and help me out! Hopefully this positive experience continues!

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere with lots on offer. Friendly and understanding staff who offer as much or as little support in regards to your workout as you would like. Would highly recommend for anyone of any fitness level.

Fantastic experience: When I went in to join up, I was worried and nervous but all the nerves went away when I signed up. It’s only been two weeks but I love going in. It’s a comfortable environment to be in, the staff are very helpful and I love working out now. You guys smashing it!!!

Fantastic experience: Getting my man to start a fitness regime, we embarked on a 5 day trial. Excellent customer service, we signed up for trial and did Pilates, Yoga & Stretching classes. Instructors extremely helpful and understanding and accommodating, and might i add FRIENDLY!!!!. They explained a lot before and after the class. The gym is meticulously clean, many varied pieces of equipment, bathrooms sparking clean, the class room was a nice environment to workout in. We will be joining as members and look forward to getting fit together.

Fantastic experience: This is a gym that doesn't just take your money and forget about you! They actually genuinely invite you to be part of their gym family. From lovely Jordan on the front desk happy to follow up on all requests, to coach Lauren who really goes above and beyond to ensure you get a workout program to meet what you want to do at the gym. The coaching zone by far is worth that extra bit of money. Its a great atmosphere with trainers observant and who adapt exercises when yoh need it. A great environment in coaching zone with no judgement fir first timers or long termers. Sammy the manager has transformed this club amazingly! From new equipment, layout, motivator incentives and a feel for family-friendly while still having area for the serious weights. Tried a few in the area and by far Genesis Rutherford wins hands down!

Fantastic experience: I finally made the effort to join a gym and have been pleasantly surprised that I feel welcome. Starting classes on your own is always daunting but at Genesis Rutherford as soon as you walk in the door your made to feel at ease. There are many classes to choose from and the coaching group classes are great. It doesn't matter if you can't perform some exercises as the coach will soon help you to adjust using different techniques. An excellent gym with modern equipment.

Fantastic experience: I was someone that thought that I would not step into a gym again after quite a few years. But when one or two health issues arose then I decided to give it a try again. That was last October and I am loving it the friendly staff and the wonderful people I have met and now call friends, plus the support and encouragement from everyone backs it a great place.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, never experienced such a great environment where all the workers are friendly, willing to have chat but most of push you to get you to your goal. You get a great welcome with Jordan at the front desk & then a tough but friendly coach Lauryn to push you in the coaching zone. Plus the equipment is awesome. Great gym all round

Fantastic experience: As someone who was petrified of joining a gym, I was so pleased with the support of the staff during sign up and follow ups. The teachers during classes are so supportive pushing you to do your best but understanding if you can't do something due to injury or fitness level! The whole feel of the place is very respectful and professional. My children really love spending time at the creche, always a joy to pick up happy smiling babies! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Friendly and helpful front desk staff, equipment in good order, Lots of brand new equipment. I love the floor plan - not too over crowded. Female only infrared sauna has my vote also! Lots of parking too.
