UFC Gym Penrith: Opinions
Positive experience: Planning to start here soon , I have heard good stuff about this gym I love the large space so you don't feel cramped
Fantastic experience: Loved my experience as a casual visit. Was able to do everything including a BJJ class. Gym was super clean, new equipment, weights rack was in order all of which are rare to find for any gym. Staff were friendly toward me and special mention to Pistol Pete who was an awesome coach. His BJJ class was brilliant, his expertise, guidance and teaching methods were awesome. Really enhanced my knowledge and he brought the methods taught into sparring practice too to give you a greater understanding of how to apply the submissions, positions, passes and escapes. Will return again when I am in the area.
Negative experience: No oversight over the quality of trainers. My first stint there I was leg swept by a trainer without warning, he only apologised once I complained to management. The second stint I sparred with a guy and he was allowed to fight after I nearly knocked him out. There is no clear pathway to becoming a fighter through them in my opinion.
Negative experience: Worst gym full stop. Equipment never on or working. Staff that sits in they phone’s. Tryed to get out of contact(because they equipment never working) told me I couldn’t had to pay the 3 months i already payed for plus the full amount of the contact. Then a year later get a letter from a debt collector saying I owe ufc gym $1,300 for a membership. They started two memberships in my name. Now I have a black mark on my credit score thanks. Telling everyone to stay away from this gym.
Negative experience: Unbelievable! 45 minute kids class WITHOUT A BREAK! (Kickboxing kids class). Who granted the license to the coach? Every couple of months is a new manager; schedule changing even if you must pay in advance for several months ahead (when signing in, keeping in mind one condition, but then it changes).
Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Great classes awesome staff also so motivated to do more. GYM class trainers push really well!!
Fantastic experience: Coach James is amazing and help me to improve my body, He even wrote me a program. Thanks UFC GYM
Negative experience: Very bad experience
Fantastic experience: Great team and best place to train
Fantastic experience: Best UFC gym by far, friendly engaging staff and they really care about your fitness goals,
Negative experience: Constant issues with cancellation of membership. Been paying for a membership that I requested to cancel last year in phone calls, Febuary and April via email. Only now are they supposely sending my cancellation forms. With no back pay. The matter will be reported to the ombudsman and fair trading. Very disappointing.
Negative experience: Staff don't like people here with injuries when they do their classes. Even with clearance by doctors.
Negative experience: Doesn’t even deserve one star ! Partner came into query about the classes, ended up signing papers with a free week trial. Called up the week later as he had lost his job and could not afford to go ahead with this membership , got told the manager will call me back, never received a call back, I called a few days a week to get into contact with the manager (still no manager) exiting this free trail was almost impossible even though I called up through this same week to cancel. what place runs with no manager. Weeks later still charging him for each week, late payments as he couldn’t afford this. didn’t offer us to set a payment plan up to pay this off. Threaten debt collectors if $600+ wasn’t payed within 7 days. $250 canceling fee and the rest is charges of each week. Called up again and was told manager will call us back, never received a call back? Do they have a manager ? Emails don’t state a name of who has emailed only ufc gym. this has caused so much stress on our family. Nothing but disgusting can’t believe people go here.
Negative experience: Way to expensive and the front people have no communication skills also the trainers like the boxing class one never correct you if u have a wrong stance or something and the jiu jitsu coach the bold one never helps you if ur going wrong somewhere overall bad gym.
Negative experience: I was abused by the manager, for being late on my membership. I’ve been ill, and that was an inconvenience for him. He threatened to call the police when I attempted to respond. I haven’t joined a gym since. Barely leave my home, as I worry I’ll run into someone like him. It was just awful. The girls who worked their had been lovely up to this point.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff! Everyone at the gym is friendly especially the staff. A good selection of gym equipment available for use. An even more selection of gym classes, ranging from beginner to advanced. The facilities are also very clean.
Fantastic experience: Seriously the best gym in Penrith!
Negative experience: Terrible communication from the admin staff. When my membership was finally due to end I didn't realise I had signed up to a contract that said if there was a pandemic in the world that my membership would continue for the time it was stopped by force. BS!! Once again lack of communication and whenever anyone emails you back there is no ownership on who wrote the email so you never know who you are speaking too.
Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere, friendly staff and patrons, classes are engaging and ever-evolving. I love going each day.
Fantastic experience: Huge gym, great classes, amazing vibes
Negative experience: Unprofessional staff don’t know what they are doing say one thing then got told another from other staff members when it comes to canceling membership. only handful of trainers only know what they are actually doing the rest have no idea.
Fantastic experience: Friendly professional personal trainers!
Fantastic experience: Alot of fun with friendly helpful staff.
Positive experience: Left this gym after 12 months. Big gym with good equipment ..especially if you do lots of different work outs (weights, cardio and martial arts related). When I first joined I was told I was put on the cheapest contract at $30 a week. Not bad if you used the whole gym but I only wanted to use boxing bags...told them this when I signed up but was told it was the cheapest (only when I asked to cancel near my contracting ending was it dropped to $20). Also when I signed up I was under the impression it was $20 (or there abouts..can't recall exact price) sign up fee..as this was displayed on the adverts but was told by Troy when I signed up it was $49.... I was reFunded after questioning this a week or so later. Maybe an honest mistake but a little unprofessional when the person signing you up doesn't know what they are doing. The first few weeks to 2 months I got phone calls from the trainers/reception almost every other day...they would leave messages asking how I was liking the gym and asking feedback. Found the persist calls annoying. The equipment itself was new and great and most mornings was not too busy. The toilets and water fountain was out of service like once or twice a month for upto a couple days which was a minor annoyance as well. The music wasn't to my taste (if you like defqon youll like it though!) But was always played at a ridiculously loud volume. Majority of the staff seemed nice as well. A bit overpriced unless you use the whole gym but over all a decent gym especially if you are into adding mma to your workouts
Fantastic experience: BEST GYM IN SYDNEY :)
Fantastic experience: big UFC. with big mats
Fantastic experience: Love it and can't recommend it enough! Friendly staff and even better management :)
Negative experience: i attended just one trial class with this Gym. The Sales team ( James and Ezzy) lured me in and got me to sign-up and said I had 7 days cooling off period after which they would withdraw 80$ from my account. 4 days after I called and told them to put the account on hold , due to my current busy work life and hectic weekend schedule , I would be unable to attend classes at the gym further on. To my surprise 2 days after they withdrew 80$ . I spoke to Laura, manager at Penrith and she said she was not going to refund the money but would cancel my membership. I explained for 30 mins on the phone to provide a refund of the 80$ and that it was unfair as I did not attend any classes, n had informed well before the cooling off period but she was unwilling to provide me a refund and said there is nothing she would do to give the money back. Day light robbery and terrible experience with this money extorting gym. Do not give your bank details or sign up
Fantastic experience: The staff are very welcoming, both staff and members quickly learn your name making it such a good environment to be in. I have been pushed to try classes I wouldn't normally try and leave feeling so good that I tried something new I joined feeling nervous and intimidated but by the end of my first week those feelings went away I could not recommend this gym enough.
Fantastic experience: LOVE the staff always very helpful and true. The equipment there is always cleaned and looked after.(my personal gym)
Fantastic experience: Friendly staffs, awesome equipments and environment. The only UFC gym in Sydney to have a full size octagon.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, has lots of facilities, classes and machines, Nathan is a great trainer!
Fantastic experience: Spacious. Trainers are inspiring. Good toilets.
Fantastic experience: Great for a big, tough workout :-)
Fantastic experience: Great people
