Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym - clean and loads of equipment

Positive experience: Friendly staff and good choice of equipment, however equipment is quite old and dirty. Most times my hands get dirty and sticky just from touching weight plates or adjusting machines (and only one bottle of sanitizer at the entrance to assist with this). Sometimes there is a sticky and wet residue on the weights and a wet/stuffy smell in the functional room

Fantastic experience: Awesome setup management are excellent very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I have had to contact the ACCC about their cancelation policy. They don’t respond to emails. Terrible service if you need any help. Plenty of other good gyms in the area.

Fantastic experience: Great variety of pin and plate set machines, cardio equipment and quite a few squat racks. There were even a couple of machines I hadn't seen before. It's open 24/7 and I usually go quite late, so I'm either the only one there or there's only one or two others so I can't comment on how busy is gets. There are showers and hairdryers in the women's toilets. It's cleaned regularly, as I'm often there when the cleaners are.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for a few weeks now, and I’m pretty happy with the overall experience. It’s never too busy, heaps of equipment and good to have 2 seperate rooms. I’ve tried multiple gym memberships over the years, and I think this is one I’ll stick with.

Negative experience: Steve (the short one) will try to milk your money at any chance he gets, toilets are dirty, broken machines & blinds don’t get fixed, owner is awful at putting on a happy face and is very rude. Do not trust this gym!! Save your money go elsewhere!! $17 per week is a joke

Negative experience: Listed as taking fitness passport on the fitness passport system but asking $30 for a tag for a one off session. Pointless to have as an option… Everywhere else lets you enter with the passport by just writing down your fitness passport details. Also explicitly states on the gyms page for fitness passport that you don’t need an access card, which suggests you’d only need to buy one if you wanted to access the gym out of staffed hours

Negative experience: Only good thing about this gym is that it is very big. But most of the equipments are old and make squiky noises. Also they don't share wifi. Why? No idea but they don't.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this gym. It's spacious, with an abundance of equipment for every type of workout. Additionally, the membership fees are well-priced. If you're looking for a gym that ticks all the boxes, this gym definitely does that. Very pleased to have joined.

Positive experience: Good sized gym, except for the fact that you can’t suspend your membership! Never been to a gym that has this. Also there is a $75 cancellation fee.

Negative experience: We join The Ridge on a couples membership in 2015. Since the gym has been converted to Fit Express, we haven’t felt the facility as warm and welcoming. Initially, Fit Express increased our membership price without consultation. This was blamed upon poor record-keeping from the previous owners. If you’re aware that there might be a problem, then publicise it in the gym, to ensure that all members are aware of changes to their memberships, and request them to speak with you, about updating their profiles. The facilities are stock standard and good enough, if you’re after the basics. I’m looking to cancel, to try something different. The cancellation process requires you to ‘sign off papers at the gym’, as per Terms and Conditions. This request would be reasonable, if staff were always available, but they’re only there at set times. I contacted Fit Express by email to give notice of my 30 days, and said that I’d complete the paperwork when I could next meet a staff member (I planned to do this in the following couple of days). Unfortunately, I received a response that a cancellation could only be performed in-gym. I found this quite poor, as I had matched up my monthly payment to-the-day of my requested cancellation, and was trying to make the process as easy-as-possible. Hopefully they’re good at math, as my next payment will be 1/30th of a full payment. Running our own training facility, I’m aware that a cancellation can be simplified, to make the process harmonious. I expected a little goodwill, especially after you’ve trained at the facility for 7 years, and continued to pay membership fees, throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fantastic experience: So grateful to have found Fit Express. Well priced, great facilities, very clean, good people (both staff and other patrons) and the women’s gym is a bonus. I’ve hardly ever waited for equipment and I always feel comfortable and safe going. Highly recommend for anyone looking to start up a gym in Eltham. Also great tunes if you forget your headsets…!

Negative experience: It’s not $13.95 per week as displayed on their website. Ends up being $15.50 after their “processing fee”. Website says no lock-in contract when you must pay an exit fee of $75. Very disappointed

Positive experience: I've been a bunch of times, not frequently but alot. The place has good equipment, safe environment (I can only speak for myself) and has done well to have equipment that is for all body shapes and sizes. I enjoy going there and I am excited to head back when I can.

Fantastic experience: The new owners are great! Huge new functional room as well as 2 other huge training areas. So much equipment I have never had to wait for any equipment even during peak times. Great value for money for such a large gym.

Fantastic experience: This gym is absolutely immaculate and full of great equipment that you can’t find in every gym. The classes are awesome run by one of the personal trainers, they are a mixed variety so each class is different! I love training here :)

Fantastic experience: I Used to be a member years ago when it was the ridge health club. I moved around gyms a while but since the change over to fit express they have made some fantastic changes to the gym that made me re sign with them. The club is now 24-7 and they have used the old room where they did classes and turned it into another room full of gym equipment. Not only does this gym have all the equipment you need to have a great training session for each body part but it is also very affordable at just $13.99 a week highly recommended.

Negative experience: $75 cancelation fee despite being a member for 3+ years and on medical grounds, not good enough

Negative experience: Customer service from Gym was extremely poor. Deducted money from account without forewarning. When questioned, owner was extremely rude and condescending. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: The worst customer service I have ever experienced. They have taken my money from me even after I have cancelled my membership and now will not reply to my emails or pick up the phone. Do not join this gym!

Negative experience: The company is very money hungry and will charge you at any given opportunity - contacting the company via phone or email is next to impossible if you need any assistance. Please note that the reply below is inaccurate and that I did eventually get in contact, though I was given a very poor solution to my problem.

Negative experience: Dishonest and extremely rude in person when they took over from Eltham ridge gym. Their advertisement is false and misleading. Do not give this gym your money!

Negative experience: Scam artist, rude and abusive. Secret fees, continues to debit account after months of cancellation and when he does finally cancel it after 4 months he tries to charge an exit fee of $200. Avoid at all costs. Too many other professional and ethical operators out there to waste your time at Fit Express.

Negative experience: Literally the worst customer service l have EVER experienced. The owner is aggressive, rude and a money hungry scam artist. I give this place a few months before it goes under, no business can run successfully by such a dodgy owner. An absolute joke !

Negative experience: Lots of extra fees....late payment fee $20, replacement key tag $30, termination fee $75 (unheard of in most gyms). Many other reviews have said they continue to debit after you cancel your membership - will have to watch for that

Fantastic experience: Super impressed! Great location and hours and the set up is fantastic. Heaps of space, equipment and even a dedicated area that is ladies only. Staff are friendly and accommodating and keep the place clean.

Positive experience: I have no doubt the change in focus away from classes hasn't suited everyone, but the addition of the functional fitness room makes this a pretty handy gym to train at. As a gym it is probably the best in the area. The functional fitness room adds about 8 squat / bench racks to the facility along with some other good features like a sled, ski function trainer plus other good kit.

Negative experience: Absolutely appalling!! I cancelled my membership 6 week's ago, and I am still being charged!! Refusing to refund any of it. Now they won't answer their phone's, and as I don't have a new key tag, I can't enter the building to talk to anyone. Iif you are claiming that i am a member of this gym, shouldn't I have been given a tag to enter? Not to mention they are taking out $17.50 per week, when their website CLEARLY states it's only $12.50. Money hungry pieces of trash. I will be seeking legal action

Negative experience: Steven who owns this gym is rude and lacks customer service skills which is a real shame given this was a great gym with a close knit member base and family culture. This won't do any favours for the new gym especially given there's barely any members left. Despite cancelling membership with old management on Thursday 29 August, one day prior to handing over to new management, one month on and money is still being charged for a membership that was cancelled. Further more - for all those members who decided to stay, they were provided with access to the new gym and the fact that I don't have any access further confirms I was part of the 'cancelled' member group. Steven refuses to refund this money, in fact said "as an adult what lesson have you learnt from this?". If he's attitude is anything to go by, it will be a great gym.....not! Supposedly he feels that if I can't prove that I cancelled on 29th August it's not his problem. On ya buddy!!!
