Negative experience: A women's only gym that is lacking in space, equipment, cleanliness and expertise. It's very disappointing that the largely forgotten women's only spaces at the local problematic "bro" gyms are cleaner and better equipped than Fernwood Fitness Waurn Ponds. Staff are reasonably friendly and helpful, but sometimes you get the Kookai treatment when you're scanning your pass (if you're a size 10-12 and you've ever dared to enter Kookai, then you know). Today's visit included being greeted by dishes in the sink, dirty gym flooring and food crumbs all over the floor. I'm not sure if this is a gym for paying customers or the home of a stay-at-home mum of 4 during school holidays but it's a bit yucky for people paying $48+ a fortnight. Please do better. Your customers deserve it.

Negative experience: Hi, I have been a professional medium for 15 years and I’m very sensitive to all energy forces that surround me. I was so excited to go to fernswood Waurn ponds gym. However one morning I was approached and ASSAULTED by the dark energy radiating from Vicky the PT. Fernwood gym should burn some incense to cleanse the environment. The negative energy looming around is potent. I cancelled my membership the next day.

Fantastic experience: So grateful for such a safe place to exercise. There is no judgment, you don’t need a designer outfit, you don’t need to be super thin or super fit… that will come from your dedication You just need to show up. Welcomed by a friendly face, amazing dedicated instructors to help you reach your goals, and the opportunity to make new friends.

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing gym and such a friendly and inviting environment. I joined after having my first baby. I was nervous getting back into the gym, but the beautiful staff welcomed me and made me feel so comfortable, and I was able to fall in love with fitness again. 5 years later, and I'm still loving it! The facilities and equipment are fantastic, and there are options to suit everyone. My three boys love the crèche and the women who look after them. It's so nice having an hour to focus on myself while knowing they're being well looked after and having fun. I highly recommend checking it out!

Fantastic experience: My happy place! Always friendly faces, amazing instructors who are so encouraging, inspiring and caring. Then there are the many new friends I have made along the way, my tribe. There is something for everyone. The app is encouraging and I always feel listened to. It's where everybody knows your name. There's also those other perks - breakfast bar, coffee, personal care items that are so handy... Never, ever do I feel self conscious. Love Fernwood!

Fantastic experience: Such an encouraging environment and community. The crèche girls are amazing! I am so glad I’ve found somewhere where I can have some me time and do my workouts whilst my kids are being cared for. Such a different vibe to other gyms I’ve been to. HIGHLY recommend checking it out!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful inclusive atmosphere. The staff and the members really embrace everyone regardless of where you are in your fitness journey and there’s zero judgement of anyone else’s abilities or limitations. The club is meticulously clean and the staff and instructors are just lovely. So many programs and classes to choose from to create a fitness routine that’s right for you. Plus the bonus of being able to get a wonderful remedial massage from Nicole to soothe any aches and pains. Absolutely worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best gym I've ever been to. They didn't charge me any deferral fees when I couldn't attend the gym after being in a car accident. They have never asked for any medical proof but have taken my word in good faith. I love all their classes I've attended including Reformer Pilates and Zumba. They have some of the best instructors.

Fantastic experience: I love everything about Fernwood Waurn Ponds. I've lost count of how many years I've been a member and I'm there for life. The girls have created the most friendly, warm and welcoming environment. The classes are awesome and really motivating. They cater for everyone. The instructors are amazing and positive; they create a really vibrant atmosphere. All the staff are friendly and enjoy being there. I aim to get there 5 days a week. As soon as I walk in the door, the friendly staff make me feel welcome and I can't wait to smash it out in the classes! I've gone to a gym for at least 40 years and Ferny is the best!

Fantastic experience: love this club so so much. i’ve been a member of other gyms and haven’t had an experiencing nearly as good as i’ve had with fernwood. the variety in equipment is great, the staff are wonderful, the locker room is always lovely and clean, and the added perks of 24 hr access, group classes, and a breakfast bar just make it all that much better!

Having been to other gyms I have never felt more comfortable and like I belong somewhere than I do at fernwood WP! I always walk out feeling better than when I entered! It has a huge range of modern equipment, so many group exercise classes and PT sessions on offer, a separate Reformer Pilates studio as well as creche and beautiful bathroom and change room facilities. Staff are all so welcoming, friendly and encouraging - I love our Fernie fam!
