Fantastic experience: Reece, Sami, Marion and Joe at Sydney Strength Training are welcoming, fun and encouraging coaches. You get individualised sessions and heaps of support with new sessions. The atmosphere of the gym is relaxed, you can take the training at your own pace or can push yourself to see what you can do. Fantastic experience: My 2023 new year’s resolution brought me through the door of SST. It’s the first resolution I’ve made in years that has stuck. Rheece, Marion and Sami are all knowledgeable about building strength and genuinely interested in helping people achieve goals, no matter if you’re a brand new gym goer or a long time lifter. The gym is really well equipped and racks are well spaced out and don’t have to be shared during your session. Rheece and the team create a welcoming, comfortable environment for people of all different ages and abilities. I’ve felt consistently confident in my program, which has been adapted to help me work around my bad knees and I’ve been supported and encouraged each week. This place is fab!!

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Rheece, Sami and Maz at SST for the past 2.5 years and could not recommend it highly enough. They are so welcoming and encouraging of clients of all backgrounds and fitness levels and the programs are 100% customised to your personal goals and preferences. There are no egos and no judgement, fun artworks adorn the walls instead of distracting mirrors, good tunes (most of the time) and everyone gets their own rack. Could not go back to an ordinary gym.
Fantastic experience: I have never been a gym goer and was sceptical about training with heavy weights. Sami was super supportive and now after 3 months my lifts are going up each week and i'm hooked on strength training. I really enjoy my sessions in the gym the workouts are challenging but the atmosphere is fun.

I started training at Sydney Strength Training 2 years ago after dabbling in commercial gyms on and off for years. In the past I had struggled to build a proper long term habit or routine and struggled to see results. Starting at SST, Rheece, Sami and Marion have taught me hands on the 'how' and the 'why' of a proper, sustainable strength training program. This has been the foundation of me being able to build a highly consistent workout ethic since starting. The time that is spent teaching you proper exercise form and training regimen has been incredibly valuable. The coaching element that is key to SST has helped me immeasurably in understanding and getting through the hard times of injuries and progression plateaus. One of the other key benefits of working with SST has been the personalised weekly programming that the team provide. This is so different to any other gym, and it's really like having your own personal trainer drive your long term progression and development. Fantastic experience: Thankfully found SST after two very long and painful years of physio for injuries to both shoulders (impingement syndrome, bursitis and frozen shoulder!) Next steps were to start strengthening my shoulders and was grateful to have found SST who have provided a safe; genuinely caring and supportive environment. I now have two fully functional strong shoulders and am looking forward the continuing health benefits of strength training as I age!
Fantastic experience: I had injured my Rotator Cuff sailing. Physiotherapy addressed the initial pain. I swam regularly to try to regain strength in the arm. There was some improvement, but the arm was still not right. Research led me to Barbell Medicine & Sydney Strength Training. A slow & steady start built my confidence to lift & within three months, muscle tone & strength returned to the arm. Heavier gardening tasks were no longer a problem.
Fantastic experience: I've been training since August 22 once a week with Sami and train 2 days at my home gym. My form on all lifts, in particular the big 3, has been expertly improved by Sami. I hit PRs in all lifts in my last training block. Sami handles all the programming expertly so the training is varied, logical and is leading to iterative strength gains. In the next training block I aim to join the 1000 pound club. I have been able to lift consistently 3 days a week despite knee reconstruction Mar 22 and history of shoulder reconstruction and bulging discs in neck. The gym in Alexandria is perfect for strength training. The owners and people that train there are all friendly.
Fantastic experience: SST has been great for me. Tried a gym from a major chain a few years ago and found it hard to be a beginner. At SST, Rheece and Sami have taken me from a newbie who knew nothing to a regular who happily gets through a few sessions every week. Plenty of space and equipment and I feel really comfortable going at my own pace. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: SST has changed my way of thinking about fitness, to work smarter and not rely on pure cardio to stay in shape. I had never done weights before and was always intimidated by gyms, but when I met a Rheece and Sami two years ago they provided a really safe and straightforward way to learn weights training. Fantastic experience: Sydney strength training is a specialised gym filled to the brim with experienced trainers. They helped me go from being significantly underweight and weak to a healthy size with strength I’ve never had before. Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Sydney Strength Training enough! I started at SST over a year ago to help with back pain from scoliosis and nerve issues in my arm. Since starting the nerve issues have completely gone away and my back is not nearly as painful as it used to be. Starting strength training can be intimidating but the team at Sydney Strength are incredibly supportive, help you perfect your form with each group session and organise all your workouts so that even if you're on your own you have a set schedule to stick to. There are also plenty of racks available so you'll rarely (if ever) find yourself waiting to use one. Finally, and probably most importantly, I've never once felt uncomfortable or judged there. As it's a smaller gym, you become familiar with the other members and everyone is friendly and supportive of eachother. *** TL;DR - great strength training gym with plenty of facilities and a supportive, comfortable atmosphere.
Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Sydney Strength Training enough for anyone serious about strength training, whether a complete beginner or advanced lifter. I had started training on my own (following YouTube videos) about a year ago but quickly plateaued. I also seriously tweaked my back which set me back a few months. After joining SST (first one-on-one sessions, then group sessions) I was able to immediately work on my form and learn how to train safely through my back injury, and before I knew it I was back to 100% and smashing through my previous plateaus. It's been about 7 months now, and I have gone from 75kg to 130kg squat, 95kg to 175kg deadlift, 65kg to 105kg bench, and 42kg to 72kg overhead press. The gym has a relaxed and no-ego vibe, and makes everyone feel welcome, regardless of what stage they're at.

Rheece, Sami and Marion are an awesome supportive team that make going to the gym fun and work towards whatever strength goals you set together. It's relaxed, the other clientele are friendly, and there is no ego. The trainers guide you along, and work with you. Are professional, and know what they are on about.

The team know what to do to get you there. But the real reason I go is because it is a home away from home , a community, where everyone is glad to see you, makes you feel welcome, and you feel like they are your family. Fantastic experience: I love training at Sydney Strenghth Training. Its a spacious, friendly, safe environment and Rheece, Joe and Sammy tailor the training to my individual goals. Booking my sessions rather than just popping in really works for me, Ive had 'pop in' gym memberships before and found I didn't use them as much. The booking system also means its never overcrowded and you can always access the equipment you need.

Fantastic experience: On my first day I was a little intimidated, but Joe had a conversation with me and told me how things worked. He helped me settle in and his programming has really boosted my confidence in strength training. I probably have a bit TOO much confidence now since he can often here me laughing and going on about how I often load my bar wrong from his office. One of the first things I noticed was how clean and organise everything was. Members need to book ahead of time to train, which means there is enough racks and equipment for each member. You NEVER have to share equipment, to the point where I often have access to TWO racks so I can do supersets. Members are respectful and what I would call ‘quiet achievers’. There is no judgment for how big or small the number is on your bar. All members clean up after themselves, with the expectation that you replace any equipment that you use back to its specific spot where you found it. Since Covid, the gym has provided free hand sanitiser. There is also a special solution provided to stray down equipment after use. All members spray down their bars and benches after use. Since we already don’t have to share equipment, social distancing isn’t an issue. If this didn’t convince you Sydney Strength Training is an awesome gym to train at, I don’t know what will! Go check it out!

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Joe from Sydney Strength Training since June 2017. I originally started as an online client, however have since switched over to doing face-to-face sessions with him on a weekly basis. Joe is an incredible coach, and since working with him I have managed to increase my strength (hello 170kg deadlift!) all whilst having fun and enjoying the process. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: As a physio, I’m always promoting the benefits of strengthening to all my patients, particularly to ones 40 and over. Sydney Strength Training is where I send all people who have made the decision to live well and strong into age but are not sure where to go or who to trust. Joe and Rheece are phenomenal coaches or have not only made the people I’ve referred to SST stronger versions of themselves, they have made me stronger as well! I have been training at SST since Oct 2019 and there is nothing better than showing up to a group class and seeing people in their 40s,50s,60s and 70s squatting and picking up loaded barbells! I can not recommend this gym more highly anyone considering taking charge of their health, strength and wellbeing into age.

And now more than ever with Covid it’s important to train in a safe environment which you will get at Sydney Strength Training. Numbers are controlled so it is never overcrowded, everything is kept clean, and you will have your own space and equipment when you train which you can clean yourself for peace of mind.

Fantastic experience: SST is the most effective gym in Sydney for literally everyone! In a city like Sydney where body image and health have become such crucial parts of our lives, it has become harder and harder to distinguish fact from fad. I had been working out at the usual commercial gyms for many years, seeing little progress as I tried to mimic nonsense workouts from various social media. All the while feeling fairly uncomfortable around the macho mentality and lack of etiquette that comes with your standard Sydney gym crowd. It wasn't until I signed up for a few sessions with Joe that I realised what real training actually is. Joe and Rheece are two of the most experienced people in Sydney when it comes to getting healthy and strong. Their training methods are simple, effective and safe for all ages and bodies! My girlfriend and I have trained with Joe for about 2 years now and have not looked back. I am trying to get my mum to sign up! If I could give this gym 6 out of 5 stars I would!

I originally found S.S.T online while trying to search for programs on how to get strong, since I wasn't getting any results from training at my local commercial gym on my own. Fantastic experience: I had chronic upper back pain and spent years seeing many *specialists* with their "woo" treatments. They all said they knew what was wrong and could help, but none did. A little over 12 months ago I discovered Joe and Rheece. Training under their guidance has literally changed my life. It has gotten to the stage where I forgot why I joined (pain) and I'm just thinking about chasing my next PR!

Joe was more than happy to help and arranged to view footage of my lifts. He gave some great suggestions on tweaking my form. For anyone living in Sydney get in to Aeonics! Fantastic experience: Have been training with the boys from Aeonics for 4 months 3 times a week really enjoying seeing a progression in strength and knowledge around health & fitness. When I started I could hardly complete 10 push-ups and recently during a Saturday “sweat” session I was able to punch out a hundred push ups. The guys bring a huge wealth of experience to there training style and a more than happy to pass on all their knowledge. The 3-tiered approach of movement, nutrition and recovery makes total sense to me now but it sure was a journey getting here! Training. For Life I would absolutely recommend a program at Aeonics 10 out of 10.
