Negative experience: Wrote an email on 21-Nov-2024 to initiate my 30 day notice to cancel my membership and my email was pushed back and I was told I need to provide written notice. If an email isn't written notice then what is? How about I now provide a 1 star review to highlight this predatory practice which shouldn't still exist in 2024? This serves as my second official notice dated 21-Nov-2024 to initiate my cancellation notice period and any charges post 21-Dec-24 will be a breach of contract from your end. I would suggest others consider "Housed" a cheaper bigger cleaner and newer gym nearby that also has no lock in contracts so you won't have to deal with the unfortunate situation I am dealing with today. What a shame it has to come to this, terrible and unprofessional service provided (or rather not provided) by Sophie from Anytime fitness north ryde

Fantastic experience: I’ve recently joined Anytime Fitness North Ryde as I was impressed with its cleanliness, mixture of both machine and free weights, and importantly, friendly staff - like Sophie on the front desk, who is always happy and welcoming with a smile. I also like that I can train at any time that suits me, with minimal wait times for equipment during peak periods. I was also able to engage PT Georgie, to help develop my training program and to ensure that I continue to ‘push’ myself to achieve my goals. Georgie is personable, knowledgable as a trainer and considerate to my specific training requirements and constraints. I fully recommend Anytime Fitness North Ryde to anyone looking for a great training venue and PT Georgie if you’re looking for a trainer. I haven’t been disappointed.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at Anytime Fitness, mainly due to Josh's lack of knowledge and clarity. When I inquired about freezing or canceling my account, Josh was unhelpful and seemed unsure about the policies. Despite being on a week-by-week payment plan without a contract, he insisted that it would take 30 days to cancel my membership. This is both incompetent and, frankly, unethical.

Positive experience: Guys, Please fix the aircon ASAP to avoid heat exhaustion, fainting, stroke or worse. People are working out here… the body can’t keep up with the temperature inside this place…

We are aware of the issue and addressed this immediately as we have had technicians out on Friday last week and Tuesday this week. We are currently finalising approval for quotes to get this fixed or for the unit to be replaced ASAP so that all our members can return to a comfortable environment working out. Negative experience: Warning! Dodgy direct debit tricks to scam extra $$ from you. Signed up a year ago and all was good then suddenly one day the weekly billing was "unsuccessful" and of course I now magically owe these smart businessmen $7.50 extra. Сlub manager was not even pretending to be helpful. "We don't charge you directly -- go talk to our payment provider" Didn't expect this from a supposedly reputable business but here we are. They pocketed my $7.50 but lost a loyal customer and got a bunch of negative reviews all over the net. Buyer beware!

Looking into your account with us. It appears that you were charged a $7.50 admin fee by our Direct Debit company for a failed payment. I understand that this was a frustrating occurrence for you. This fee is outlined and explained in our membership agreement that you had signed, this the fee is charged based on any reversal of debit that the bank will charge the debiting company. I assume based on your review that this may have been explained to you by the manager. As a business we are as transparent as possible with the provision and explanation of all fees that may be debited in our membership agreement, which is shown to you upon signing up with all Anytime Fitness branches. I apologise if this was not made clearer to you at the time of sign up. If you do wish to discuss this further please do not hesitate to reach out so we can be of assistance. We apologise again for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Fantastic experience: Large open space with an awesome modern fit out. Never have to wait to use any of the equipment. The space is clean and well maintained. Can’t recommend the Team members, Jack and Josh highly enough. They add that special something extra to the Anytime Fitness experience.

Fantastic experience: Hands down best gym in the Ryde area and I’ve been to them all! Massive carpark out the front so accessibility is really convenient. Staff are super helpful and always friendly - they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The space has a functional layout and is always clean and well maintained. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: The gym has AC but they don’t turn it on. And half the fans here seem to always be broken. Too hot to train here esp downstairs
Thanks for the feedback Joey and having a chat with me over the phone. We are in the process of replacing of all fans as we speak to get more industrial size fans to improve air flow. We have also had major works over the past couple of weeks to refurbish our aircon so it is operating at optimal levels. Positive experience: Amazing staff, however lack of equipment and seriously not 1 calf exercise machine and only 2 cable machine and 3 squat rack.
Hi Andrew, thanks for the feedback on our staff! We would love to find out more about your feedback regarding our machinery. We do have a sitting calf machine, which is located downstairs opposite our four squat racks. In terms of our cable machines, we have two alternate machines with 5 stations that can be adjusted and used with alternate attachments. With this we also have an assisted dip/chin machine, two seated cable rows and two lat pulldowns. We would love to hear any specific suggestions or alternate feedback you may have on how we can improve this?

Fantastic experience: I am extremely satisfied with Anytime Fitness - North Ryde. The gym is very clean, wipes are always provided and never run out - keeps the equipment sweat and bacteria-free from those members who never bother bringing in a towel! Fantastic experience: Client of North Ryde for the last 12 months after moving locally - Great gym with lots of parking a few steps from the front door. Spacious and plenty of equipment. Very clean facilties with change rooms and shower rooms seperated from the toilet. Friendly staff who have responded to requests (eg: I wanted to see if they could raise the punching bag which they did) Other users are friendly and I've never seen any negative issues in my time. Special EDIT to shout out to Kat from Anytime NR for seeing me looking around and coming to my aid without prompt so I could get my Airpods charged! I can't do the work without my tunes or podcasts..haaaaa!!!

Fantastic experience: Great gym and awesome staff! Equipment is new and there are lots of options. I train in the mornings and never had to wait for anything. Profile of the members is positive and vibe is great. Facility was clean and tidy. Parking is always available and very close to entrance. I’ve been in several gyms in North Ryde and i think this is the best one.

Fantastic experience: First & Foremost, I hate gyms and commitment but with decades of shoulder pain then pulling my hamstrings on NYE, I decided to take my fitness more seriously. Firstly, I was impressed by the presentation of the gym and the friendliness of the staff which has continued well into my membership. Secondly, the gym is well equipped with ample space. The membership included some free PT sessions to get me started. I was reluctant and expected to do the freebies and then go about my own business. However, Harrison (my assigned PT) convinced me that we could reduce my shoulder pain by 80-90% (if I committed to 4 months of PT sessions). I decided to make the investment and now I can confirm that I LOVE the gym (never EVER thought those words would come from me), my shoulder pain has reduced significantly (noticeable difference within 4 weeks) and my hamstrings are healed. Anytime Fitness North Ryde has converted me and made working out a lifestyle which I now enjoy.

Fantastic experience: This gym beats all the rest. 2 spacious floors of new modern equipment, it is clean, well kept, and has nice and helpful staff. Just moved into the area and am happy to make it my new workout escape. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Rude manager! Called to ask for prices as I’m looking to join. Manager, Josh, said that they didn’t do prices over the phone. I was in the middle of speaking and he hung up on me! If I’m going to be treated with such rudeness, I’d rather take my money and business elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend at all!

Fantastic experience: Such a massive variety of equipment and the best staff you could ask for. Been to a few of the other gyms around the Ryde area and this tops them by far. Well worth signing up for!
