Fantastic experience: I've enrolled my 8 year old son into jujitsu classes twice a week recently and the staff have been so helpful and kind! So happy with his confidence boost and excitement when it comes to days he has classes. Very reasonable pricing and a lovely overall atmosphere when at the venue. Already recommending the place to kids and adults too

Fantastic experience: Vanguard Jiu Jitsu in Mandurah is ‘The’ Place to go if you want to make a difference in your well being and self ability to do anything you want. There is a fantastic atmosphere present, and a real community which extends way beyond our town. Becoming self disciplined and learning BJJ is a great way to get myself where I need to be, no matter what life throws at you. I always leave feeling very positive (positivo) after a session. Leo and Vanessa are good people and great supportive coaches. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Our son started with Vanguard JiuJitsu for 4 weeks while we were staying in the area short term. He has been doing 3 classes per week and has been absolutely loving it. Leo and Vanessa have been great and very accomodating. The classes are a mix of different ages and belt colours so as a beginner he has been able to take on kids in higher belt grades and learn from them as well. A lot of dads who are also students step in to the kids classes to help out and provide some extra knowledge to the kids which we thought was wonderful. He has learnt so much from Leo in such a short time and we’re sad to be leaving.

Fantastic experience: Our kids joined VanGuard at the start of the year. This is the best thing we have ever done for them. The friendly yet encouraging team have welcomed them into the gyms family making them feel so comfortable. The skills they are learning and the friendships they are forming are priceless. I can not thank Leo and Vanessa enough. I can’t wait to see where this takes them and also the security it gives our teen girl, knowing that she can now protect herself!

Fantastic experience: Vanguard JJ came highly recommended from their peers in Perth and it hasn’t disappointed! Being a middle aged woman who is an absolute beginner, I was hesitant about trying it. I was instantly put at ease by the friendly, encouraging, and all round positive atmosphere that is Vanguard Jiu Jitsu.

Fantastic experience: I've tried 3 different BJJ academies between Mandurah and Rockingham and the culture at this club is like nothing else around. To see an academy this size have such a strong culture of positivity and passion is incredible. Everyone is so welcoming and the level of jiu-jitsu is insane. It's a culture you won't find at many other clubs. And it's what keeps people coming back. Professor Leo has built something remarkable here. The pride and passion he has is evident in the fact that he takes every single class from toddlers to adults. And he takes the time to learn every single person's name! I've never felt so welcomed and as a result I've never felt this motivated! I'm hooked. And my kids are absolutely loving it too!

Fantastic experience: Our 6 year old son has been with Master Leo and the GFT Mandurah team for nearly two years. He is a very gentle child and not aggressive at all. Recently after school I was watching him okay and a younger kid became very pushy towards my son. I watched closely as he showed restraint and confidence against this bullying and managed to diffuse the situation without aggression. I could clearly see he used skill he had learnt at GFT Mandurah. I highly recommend this school and love to watch the enjoyment my son has every week there.

GFT Mandurah is a family all on it's own too, that always has room for more members. There are multiple classes every day except Sunday, so there is flexibility for everyones schedule. Best decision I have ever made for my health and my life. BJJ is also therapy, once you finish your class you will feel a calm elation that cannot be matched. Come with a good attitude, an open heart, leave your ego at the door and you will be rewarded with a BJJ family. Oh and your first session is free. If you are anything like me you will sign up before the class even finishes.

Leo is incredible he can have a mat full of kids and he makes sure every one of them feels encouraged and receive’s the level of instruction they require. Fantastic experience: After over 25 years teaching Muay Thai, Karate and self defence in Mandurah ( XL Martial Arts Academy ) I have found a new passion. GFT Mandurah is the thinking persons martial arts club. Myself and my 2 boys train and love the atmosphere and the learning curve. My wife is joining just based on the family feel the club has.

He has outstanding interpersonal skills and his knowlege is clearly second to none- a true Master of his art. There is only one option - GFT.. NG MMA is a poor substitute and not even in the same league when it comes to BJJ!
