PCYC Hornsby / Ku-ring-gai: Opinions
Negative experience: They NEVER answer phone calls and the online venue booking does not work. Virtually impossible to book a court
Positive experience: Great vibes, we recently had our daughter’s gym party here and had a good experience.
Fantastic experience: I love it
Fantastic experience: Great, clean, expansive and abundant facilities, chill vibe, had a great time.
Fantastic experience: Really nice venue - very clean! Convenient parking and super easy to navigate. Would recommend :)
Fantastic experience: Wonderful venue, with great facilities. Couldn’t have asked for a better staff.
Fantastic experience: Great venue with very friendly and accommodating staff! Highly recommend.
Negative experience: The only PCYC in Sydney that is completely incompetent when it comes to answering the phone.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities, attentive staff and an awesome cafe.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful and spacious location, well kept and amazing staff.
Fantastic experience: Venue was clean and on-site cafe had a great vibe. Fun place to bring the family!
Fantastic experience: Great facilities with great staff
Fantastic experience: Great facilities. Very well kept. Staff is awesome. Highly recommend. Their wrestling classes are awesome!!
Negative experience: Horrible customer service. They dont answer phones
Negative experience: Called up and spoke to a guy named jack, he was really rude. I asked him a simple question about another pcyc that wasn’t answering. I just wanted to know if they were open and he replies with “how am I supposed to know?”. I responded with “you work at pcyc” then he replies with another rude comment, “not auburn”. Really rude person, he shouldn’t be answering the phone calls.
Fantastic experience: An amazing venue! The staff, police and trainers are all fantastic supports for local kids who need help to get off the streets. This review is to say thank you to Hornsby PCYC for their continued efforts!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic centre with the best staff. The trainers go out of their way to make myself and my clients feel welcomed and encouraged to get the most of the facilities. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: I had the time of my life and all the staff were lovely! Specifically the gymnastics staff like jen! Would definitely recommend
Fantastic experience: Great gym with clean facilities, easy parking and also offers different classes for all age group. Being using the gym for the last 5 years now, very friendly staff and each time when you walk in, you will see the lovely staff at the front (Brendan, Brad and many other team members)
Fantastic experience: A great facility for all
Negative experience: A nice place to visit, learn and discover how a horrendous customer service looks like. It’s a norm to expect staff at the front desk to ignore you and spend time having a coffee and chat. It’s a norm for them to make extra debits out of your account. So you’ll need to check on what has been debited. If you request a pause on your payments while going away on holidays. They will typically get you to fill out an application form and dump the form somewhere in their backroom and charge you as normal. The 2 options you have is to either visit their reception multiple times just to check if they have actually put a hold on your debit (which they wouldn’t have as they would require you to make multiple visits and request a stop payment) or else the other option is to let the direct debit go ahead and then deal with the horrendous customer service desk. The range of equipment in their outdated gym and the way they are maintained would have looked alright for a gym in late 1990's or early 2000's.
Fantastic experience: Eat, exercise, relax, BBQ, playgroup. ….you can find everything here
Negative experience: Terrible customer service people who working in Hornsby have no knowledge about customer service and they lied about their service which is very disappointing it’s a big mistake to go to pcyc in Hornsby I’ll pass my negative feedback to everyone who wants to go there as I’m working with lots of people based on my job .
Negative experience: Don’t know how the owner found so many bad-mannered receptionists. When you say hello to them, they even don’t want to answer… maybe they are volunteers?
Negative experience: I recently had a kids birthday here and I would not recommend the venue at all. The booking process needs massive improvement, they ask you to email an account that is clearly not monitor and if you call to get any kind of information regarding party bookings nobody has any clue. When I finally was able to book (after a number of emails unanswered and calls and visiting the place, it really should not be that difficult!). Then came the day of the party, when arriving few minutes to the start time, in reception nobody knew where the party host was, extremely disorganised. After already a bad start to the experience, then the food came and another disappointment, kids basically left the whole food because it was not pleasant at all. To top it off, some of the staff can be very rude and are lacking on customer service skills. I would definitely not recommend to have a kids party here.
Negative experience: Considering they make it virtually impossible to find a functioning page for the cafe within this facility, I’m posting it here. Today my partner & I stopped into the cafe and purchased a Lemon Meringue cake that was clearly labelled as “Gluten Free”, come to find upon eating it that it had a cake style base. It was dry, and not great. What made matters worse, within half an hour, both of us were extremely unwell. Being coeliacs, we knew we’d consumed gluten. Considering neither of us had eaten anything else, we knew why. I checked with the girl upon purchasing that it was gluten free, which she confirmed. The fact both of us were ill not long after tells us otherwise. Extremely disappointing and utterly annoyed considering it has now made us both very unwell and ruined our plans for a Saturday. This kind of stuff can’t continue… allergies need to be taken seriously.
Negative experience: The worse place in the area no respect , customer service. All they want is easy money. All I want to do is learn and have fun .All I get out of it is hate by staff and corrupt police they look down on people that need help just like me . I pray that this doesn't happen to anyone ..
Negative experience: ReadyStreadyGo here is great but near impossible to get to level 1 if you need the lift. Reception isn’t helpful.
Positive experience: Pleasant area at the Caffe also
Fantastic experience: I had my daughter’s 7th birthday party here. It was awesome! No stress and the kids had a blast. The party coordinator Karoline made it a very positive experience as did the cafe staff. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an alternative to the usual frenetic party places.
Negative experience: Refs for netball dont know the rules and allow assault. You can not push a player. You can not restrict the free movement of a player. You cannot slap the ball when someone holds the ball. But the refs here allow it. I have been slapped 12 times (on the hand, bicept and forearm) by one male in my first game and worse by girls in my 3rd game. In a "social" "friendly" comp. Staff then proceed to say "you need to stand there and take it or move away" and then "we have told you what you need to do" and "you're not listening to us". Poor customer service and safety.
Positive experience: + Good loctation + Airy gym + Good prices - Poor maintenance The machines are poorly mainained though. Takes ages for the broken machies to get fixed
Fantastic experience: Hosting an event to match job seekers with local employers, PCYC provided space and resources to serve the community. Especially great was the catering, provided by the on-site cafe Kitchen Xpress. They delivered beyond expectation to ensure that everyone had plenty of quality food and catered for those with varied dietary constraints. What an awesome team Kitchen Xpress & PCYC have - they genuinely care about serving all those in the community.
Positive experience: kids love the Ready Steady and Go there. It is 4-6yrs activity program. They can try all kinds of mobilities such as running, hopping, throwing and jumping. It also includes basketball. They change the set of activities every two weeks. It's good to let kids join and try out more PE activities before sign them up in their interested specific after school sports lessons later on.
Negative experience: I tried to call the center for 2 days. No one answered so I sent an email which I was told someone is going to get back to me soon. That didn't happen. There is no customer service at all
Negative experience: Dry cold old food Over prices old noodles and horrible long wait for everything No communication at all old lamb kebabs were even worse The worst experience yet Horrible food big time Stay way not worth a penny And they are completely not ready for the day at 9 am Not good -1star Never again
Negative experience: Please stop making calls during odd hours asking to purchase draw tickets.
Positive experience: Went to the cafe at the pcyc and purchased cake. Asked what type of cake it was. The person at the counter said vanilla cake. Found out when I got home that it was actually orange cake. Purchased 2 different cakes - both were not fresh and quite dry unfortunately.
Negative experience: I have basketball lessons in pcyc and usually finish around 7:30 but not even once but many times the staff comes in 30 minutes earlier than closing time to tell us to stop playing during our lesson. Sometimes they turned off the light in the middle of a game.
Negative experience: This is the most horrible place I have ever visited. No one cares. If no classes (for whatever reason) they will not bother even inform you. The coaching is terrible (grossly unprofessional). All these guys think is making money….
Negative experience: Charging $5 for my democratic right to a sausage sanga is obscene! (And I saw no charity sign) Store bought sausage on home brand white? What a joke for the price! I wouldn’t do that to my worst enemy, that’s just cruel and un-Australian. Driving to another locale to obtain reasonably priced sausage sanga. Just another power hungry corporate penny-pusher money grubby capitalist!!
Negative experience: this is NOT a youth organisation, its a business they domt care about the youth only money they overprice everything so much and you cant even use the facilities. 1 time i was at the youth centre because i wanted to play ball and i tried calling them before multiple times and they dont bother picking up so i called them while i was at the place and the people purposely left the call. They were just sitting down.
Negative experience: Kids boxing is a joke. 45 mins class comprising playing tag for 40 mins with only 5 mins of boxing or anything resembling that. Waste of time. We left halfway through the term.
Fantastic experience: I go there for gym training after work each week on a Monday or Tuesday
Thanks James - keep up the good work!
Positive experience: They say they have a covid safe plan but I havnt seen any evidence that shows they're interested in enforcing it. Very frustrating to use the gym and clean after yourself when others don't even have basic pre covid gym hygiene or using a towel. It's gross and annoying to have to wipe down equipment before and after I use it. Gym itself is good though with a nice outlook.
Fantastic experience: I go here for the gym, way cheaper then other gyms, just as well equipped, opens super early and closes late and super friendly staff
Thanks Elliot! Keep up the good work.
Negative experience: Very unfriendly services ,unkindly staffs and unclearly explanations .
Positive experience: It is a good place to do sport, but the booking price is too expensive. Hope the booking price can not be expensive like that .(2hours/150$)
Positive experience: Outdated.
Fantastic experience: this is a good place just to hang out or play basketball, our school gave us a free membership and the place was good.
Thanks- we are happy to hear you enjoy the club. Keep up the good work!
Fantastic experience: Great place to work out and great staff.
Thanks! We are happy to hear you are enjoying the club. :)
Fantastic experience: 很棒多功能的運動場所
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and great facilities, the cafe has decent coffee too. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Olivia :)
Fantastic experience: Great venue, and positive atmosphere with stellar equipment, and facilities. Service of all the bubbly staff members is second to none, food int he cafe is yummy and brilliant coffee. Just what Waitara needs! Thank you
Thanks Kade! Very happy to hear you are enjoying the club and the coffee :)
Negative experience: I enrolled by daughter for gymnastics. The staff members are very careless. My daughter fell off the beam in her gymnastics class and fractured her right arm. They don’t care to put up safety mat as per standard guidelines . None of the staffs cared to inform parents. When I reached to pick her up, She was crying. When I asked her , she said none of the staff members even noticed that I fell off. They are so insensitive they didn’t even come to notify what happened. I wish I would have never sent my daughter to such a irresponsible place.
Negative experience: worst customer service ever.
Negative experience: We come here for playing badminton in the weekends. While the place is okay(maybe a 3 star just for the place), the booking facility is not very friendly and is not transparent as well. Would have been nice if they had online booking so that we don’t have to walk in every day to see if we can book for the coming weekend. We also arranged a birthday party for our kid there. Again facilities and the pricing was reasonable but getting to book for so so difficult. Only one person controls birthday party booking and she was away for quite sometime and nobody else could give us solid answers. Bookings, reception can definitely be made better - can be more friendly and transparent!
Negative experience: Poor range of equipment. Went here for a year when I was under 18 and appreciated the lower price of $10 but was told 3 weeks before I turned 18 that I needed to start paying the new $25 adult price, despite clearly not being an adult and her being able to see my date of birth when scanning the card. Staff were always very passive and I always felt unwanted and ignorant coming there as a young girl who was learning gym basics. Do not recommend, and do not appreciate the severe increase in price when turn 18 in proportion to the quality of the gym and range of equipment. I have now taken my business to fitness first which is cheaper than the 25 a week and is much classier and offers my way more gym wise and customer service wise. Disappointed.
Fantastic experience: Great service here
Thanks Elliot, we are glad you are happy :)
Fantastic experience: Ok
Rorie, thank you for your rating!
Negative experience: Very unfriendly customer services, unclear explanations, ask you to pay extra money. Also, they never answer phone call they just hang off immediately!
Fantastic experience: I love this place. This is a great place for me to play basketball and table tennis. People here are also very kind and helpful. I will appreciate it if they could share the availability of table tennis room online.
Fantastic experience: Thank you to PCYC, Sarah and everyone involved today! Emma had a great Birthday Party!
Fantastic experience: jaspers a pretty sick lad ay you feel me
Fantastic experience: A+ gym facilities, and friendly staff, even when they've been off shift
Positive experience: Great facility and staff, people who have given poor ratings due to staff being rude may be justified, but that has never been the case for me (although i only interact with the reception and gymnastics staff). The facility itself is in great condition too, from the gym to the gymnastics area, to the basketball courts and boxing area. Poor reviews given because of difficulty booking a basketball court don't seem to appreciate the fact that if it's constantly booked, then it must be well liked. The only issue i have had is that on some calls, no one has answered, and the call is eventually just dropped as the waiting cue seems to not be very long. Another issue is that sometimes their online website isn't completely up to date on info (such as there being a mid-term break for gymnastics). All and all however it is a great place, and it serves an important role in the community.
Fantastic experience: Love this place, the gym is easily amogst the best around. The folk out here though are brilliant! Special shout out to Bradley, Pierre, Jasper,Tyler and Neil Keep up the good work guys!!
Negative experience: I tried to make a call but no one ever answered the phone call which is very frustrating. I attempted at least 10 phone calls over three days but never got anyone to answer the phone call
Hi there, we apologise for your unfortunate experience. You can also contact the club via email - [email protected] If you are a member, there is also an option to book classes and facilities online. Just head to the 'customer login' button o the main page of the website.
Negative experience: I go to hornsby pcyc and it is completly garbage. Never accepts phone calls and basketball courts always booked. I bought a membership card all for nothing! Everyone around were also complaining about pcyc and the lack of effort. Disapointing
Hi Ian, thank you for the feedback. We appreciate your feedback and strive to be a better organisation for our members and the community. We have passed on your review to the relevant people to take any required action. Thanks
Negative experience: Went to a boxing class last week the womens and intermidate boxing “instructor” was very rude at the end And said things to me that were out of order and unwarranted I’m very disappointed as it was great when the old boxing coach was there. I defiantly won’t be back and I think that instructor needs to change his arrogance espically working at a pcyc
Hi Dale. We appreciate your feedback, and apologise for your poor experience. We aim to learn and be better for our members and the community. We have passed on your feedback to the relevant people.

Negative experience: There was a man with a beard who kicked us out and swore at us. Don't come here
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Negative experience: This organisation is slack , false advertising nobody ever knows what’s going on , David the manager there is so rude and lazy I don’t know how he got this job in the first place please PCYC if you hire a manager make sure they up for the task and qualified I think David is running the organisation to the ground
Negative experience: Terrible customer service. Lack of staff at the basketball court.
Negative experience: Very bad customer service. No one answers the phone most time I called.
Negative experience: Almost always get cut off while waiting in call que to book courts and have to ring back with no guarantee anyone is there. I've spent all day trying to book courts. Extension has been busy for 8 hours now. And there is no answering machine to leave a message. Entry card nevery works and still have not got solution for this.
Fantastic experience: I love the facility. All staff are very friendly and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Came here for the first time. I live nearby and my partner and I decided to give it a go. Beautiful food! We both work in restaurants and for a small cafe the food was pretty bloody good! Coffee was excellent!!
Positive experience: Lots of facilities and great location.
Fantastic experience: Great new landmark sporting facility overlooking Mark Taylor Oval. When parking be sure to obey signage as council rangers patrol the area.
Fantastic experience: Good
