Fantastic experience: I trialled a couple of gyms before signing up with Fernwood. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and supported. Excellent staff. I love it. I don't know why I didn't join sooner.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loving my Fernwood experience. Everyone is so friendly, the classes are varied, the instructors are professional and flexible. Love the kitchen area where I can sit and have a chat afterwards with my friends!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Fernwood Mitcham for a number of years but since the new owners have taken over, it has only gotten better! A lot of time, effort and money has been spent on new equipment, upgrading the space and giving it a fresh look and it has made the world of difference! The infrared sauna and reformer room are excellent upgrades and additions. There is a huge group fitness timetable as well as specialised programs including reformer and FIT30. I really enjoy being a member more than ever!

Fantastic experience: From my first point of contact with Georgina it has been an absolute amazing experience joining the Gym. Connie was lovely and knowledgeable for my sign up process. FIIT30 is the best, I love it and Maria and Megan are excellent trainers. I totally love their energy and vibe. Highly recommend ladies, especially if you are looking to build your strength get on to FIIT30 xx

Fantastic experience: i have been a member for two months, I am so happy I joined. The variety of classes is excellent and the personalised gym program gives me alot of variety. The fact it is open 24/7 means I can go whenever it suits me. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: I had a bad experience with another gym a few years ago, and it took me awhile to build up the courage to sign up to a gym again. I’m glad I chose Fernwood Mitcham as the staff are helpful and friendly, the trainers are knowledgeable and approachable, and other members are respectful and easy going. The gym is clean and equipment/facilities maintained. It’s a safe community to come in, do your workout and also connect with other members (if you want to).

Fantastic experience: Love coming for a workout at Fernwood Mitcham.All staff are so friendly ,the facilities are excellent, the equipment 5 . I feel so much better after I do workout. Fantastic experience: Fantastic friendly staff from management all the way through their team. Large space so it never feels congested and a great view. Equipment is new and improvements made frequently. Plenty of classes. Infared Sauna. Large change rooms.

Negative experience: My daughter went to Fernwood on May 29th and told them she wanted to cancel her membership, and then paid two weeks of membership in advance in cash. They normally deduct the membership fee on Thursday every two weeks, but they called my daughter on May 30th (Thursday) to confirm her cancellation, and then sent her an email saying that she had to pay two more times, that is, another 4 weeks of membership. This means that my daughter paid three times (six weeks of membership) after telling them to cancel her membership, and they also said that she could use the fitness facilities during this period, but we are going on vacation on June 23rd, so how could she use it? It feels like they are delaying it as much as possible. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I’m a fan of Mitcham Fernwood Since Caitlin took over ownership a few years back. Tthere have been major improvements. Abundance of quality classes and instructors. All staff are friendly. ( special shoutout to Georgie on reception who is always smiling and helpful ) Always great specials and incentives. Members are friendly and social. Well done team!!

Positive experience: Fernwood Mitcham was my first gym preference, and I was a member for quite a few years. I have to say the gym is managed well. I ceased membership about 2 years ago due to family stress. When I tried to come back as a casual, I had so much trouble. Initially I could join the fitness class with no problem, then I was asked to fill in a health form and managed to join the class. Finally yesterday I was informed casual can only come during staff hours and 7:30 Zumba class finishes at 8:30 and staff finishes at 8pm so I couldn't join the class. At that point I realised it was time to move on. I ended up joining another gym down the road with flexible usage, lower rate, no lock in contact and group fitness timetable that suits me better. I guess not everyone has the time to go to gym 4 times a week, and people like me just need some flexibility.

Fantastic experience: Fernwood Mitcham offers so much to members. It has two big rooms one wellness for classes like yoga and one fitness which offers a huge variety of classes. They also have reformer Pilates and fit30 a circuit training class. The gym has up to date equipment and a great kitchen area with lots of seating to catch up for a coffee after class. The owner, staff and instructors are very friendly and professional. I have made friends with other members. Fernwood Mitcham is a great place to get fit and to feel part of a group of women.

Fantastic experience: I love how nice and clean the gym is. Very friendly staff and I love there's not very loud music where tou cannot even talk. There are a good amount of classes. Some classes need to improve, but in average most of trainers are quite good.

Fantastic experience: Going to fernwood is honestly the highlight of my day! Before joining fernwood I was really struggling with self confidence and struggling with weight gain. I’m achieving my goals and couldn’t be happier. I get excited to go to the gym not just to work out but to see all the amazing staff. The staff are always happy and so friendly and so Approachable and knowledgeable. I love this gym I love the staff. I Love everything about this place.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here at Fernwood Mitcham for 2 and a half years, after not being at a gym for over 40 years. From day 1, I have always felt very welcome, comfortable and supported. I take part in Reformer Pilates, Fiit 30, Fiitmax and PT, at age 60, I have never felt stronger and fitter. The staff are all amazing!

Positive experience: This is very good place, but please please please add Seated Machine Hip Abduction and Adduction pleaseee, this gym is just for women so I think it’s so important to have a leg machines because the gym has got some empty spaces. I really appreciate add this machine because of this machine I have to driving 20 minutes to Camberwell but in case Mitcham so close to me. Thank you very very much women deserve that the gym where we practice has nothing less than facilities for men or other gyms.my Id is Shamim hodaie

Negative experience: Be aware of 30 days notice of cancellation when you join and they debit the the FULL fee if your DD is scheduled in that time frame.

Fantastic experience: I really love Fernwood Gym. It is a safe, non-judgmental place for women of all ages, cultures, sizes and shapes. Some of the strongest, fittest woman are the oldest and that is so inspirational. The kitchen seating area is a great space to sit and chat, the hot showers when needed with deodorant and hairdryers provided and the smiles on everyones faces as they banter between and during activities is lovely. There is a great range of classes and equipment for all workout preferences. My only request is for more 30 min classes between 5-7pm at night. they really do work for busy women.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member here for a few years and think it’s a great gym with friendly staff and members. I particularly enjoy attending the ‘stay and play’ classes that are on three times a week now that Fernwood Mitcham doesn’t have a crèche.

Fantastic experience: The best gym ever, joined since 2018, loving all the programs there, from hypoxy, body balance, Zumba classes, yoga, fiit30, reformer classes to the gym floor. Very clean, safe and the staff are friendly. The equipments always look new, the gym is 24 hours, and very spacious. There is an area to wind down to have breakfast or a cuppa. Close proximity to a few of my favorite lunch places too, and very close to home. Highly recommended -Corina Matthews-

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership and paid for the $200 but still need to pay for 2 direct debits. Not flexible. They just want your money..

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here a couple weeks and am really enjoying it. Beautiful view uptop in the cardio area. Lots of fun classes to go to. Yet to try the sauna and I am excited but most of all the staff are super welcoming and friendly. I’ve never been to a gym before and I couldn’t wish for an easier transition. Big bathrooms too which are always clean. Free brekkie in the morning aswell.

Fantastic experience: I love the all female environment at Fernwood Mitcham. I feel so comfortable working out at any hour and the recent updates with the new owner are amazing! The Reformer Pilates room is one of the best I’ve seen and they have a sauna!

Negative experience: Super dodgy gym. I would avoid signing a contract with them as they are expensive and difficult to get out of. Staff are rude and poorly trained. Facilities were often dirty and I have at times had to ask management multiples times for them to be cleaned.

Fantastic experience: Fernwood Mitcham has a wonderful group of staff and members. It's a great community of women keeping fit and healthy, inspiring to be part of it.

Negative experience: Staff were rude and judgmental. So unprofessional. When I was trying to cancel my membership, it was a challenge. They kept calling me at inconvenient time (eg at my work when I was with a client) to convince me to stay on. They even called to my workplace! Rather to be somewhere with some people with some dignity.

Fantastic experience: Update for Fernwood, we have new classes. Great being part of a great gym, we have everything, sauna, weights, cardio, pilates, yoga, a member for life, pun intended

Fantastic experience: Fernwood Mitcham is one of only a handful of female only gyms that has a superbly decked out weights area. I feel so much more comfortable in a gym like Fernwood when working out, but have found that so many female gyms have really underequipped weights areas - but thankfully not Fernwood Mitcham! It is so good that there is a range of equipment and especially free weights and machines. Facilities are always clean, and well maintained, and I am loving seeing new equipment and upgrades being added.

Negative experience: Worst customer service experience I’ve had. Required 3 attempts over a month (in person, via call and via email) in order to follow up on my request to cancel my membership. Head office decided to cancel the crèche service after 6 months of joining which is the only reason why I signed up for the gym. Requested for the cancellation fee to be waived as they are cancelling the service that allowed me to attend the gym. They’re able to hand out complimentary $50 vouchers to use in the gym but not able to waiver their $300 cancellation fee?? Definitely $$$ fuelled rather customer service focussed. Pity.

Negative experience: Possibly the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. After harassing me for months about joining the gym i received yet another phone call on yet ANOTHER new phone number from the manager pressuring me to join the gym. After going back and forth I was starting to get overwhelmed and agreed. Within a couple of hours of agreeing and giving my details I received the contract and decided I would not be signing it. I called them back to let them know as well as sending them an email. They tried to convince me otherwise but I said no. They continued to call me multiple times after this even though I had blocked all associated numbers and then on Saturday night I was charged the sign up fee of $159??!!! When I never signed the contract? Will definitely be contacting the ACCC. You all should be ashamed of the way you conduct business.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym I’ve been to. The staff are lovely and helpful. The facilities and equipment are great. The best part though…. The on-site child care! The staff are fabulous, friendly, helpful and caring. It’s great to be able to take my 3 month old and 2 year old along and start exercising again !

Fantastic experience: Thanks to the team at Mitcham. They rock, I had some issues with my membership and Tania did a fantastic job to make sure that she found the best resolution for me. I also enjoyed my time working out here, they have a wide range of group workouts at various times to suit different lifestyles.

Fantastic experience: I’m a mature aged woman who was looking to increase my body strength and fitness so I went to have a look at Fernwood in Mitcham. I met with Jacquie who showed me around, explained how everything worked and is incredibly knowledgeable, open and friendly. I had my first session with Maria who wrote me a tailored a program perfectly suited to me. I have been consistently attending and love it. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the gym well equipped and incredibly clean. Bathrooms are impeccable with hairdryers and toiletries, and there’s plenty of parking. I feel extremely comfortable and confident in this environment - and achieving visible results already. Jacquie, Maria and all the staff are extremely good at their job. Not to mention all the classes available in your membership. I’m a convert to both yoga and Pilates now. So I work hard, I’m motivated but more importantly I’m so well supported by the incredible staff I feel I cannot help but continue to grow. I could not recommend Fernwood Mitcham highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member since 2014 and I love this gym! Generally the staff are friendly, helpful, interested in their members and seem to want to build relationships with members (who want it). Although as in any gym staff members do come and go, the core group of long term +/- senior staff including class instructors are great and really know their stuff. Also instructors/staff who (in my opinion) aren’t great don’t stay long and generalised excellence is restored. The gym itself is large with a generous floor plan. There is a good number of weight/resistance training machine and lots of space to train and there is line of sight from reception to the weights area so I do feel safe training. There are loads of cardio machines on the mezzanine, a large cardio and large yoga room (also a cycle room and creche but I can’t comment cos I’ve never been). The classes I join are usually well attended and usually have a core group of regulars. The place is clean, tidy and there is ample rolls of paper towels and sprays at convenient locations. I know there are several groups of long term members and I think this bodes well and adds to the lovely culture of this gym. I am not the fittest, leanest, strongest, most coordinated person and I look really awful in my gym gear but have always felt accepted and valued. As my life has changed, this is no longer the most convenient gym and I have discussed transferring my membership. Although disappointed, staff have always been understanding and I have never been pressured to stay. This is probably why I have never left.

Negative experience: Not really good customer service. I was returning a call for inquiry on joining and Nicole on the other end of the line was quite unwelcoming and snappy. It put me off signing up for this gym.

Negative experience: I went in for a fitness coach appointment when I first joined. The first few sessions were with a lovely older women, but the last session was with a different lady who laughed at me and made snide remarks while she was doing my measurements. I joined Fernwood to feel comfortable and supported working out around other women, not to experience backhanded fat shaming.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for the FIT30, PT Session for roughly a year or so. Can't wait to go back the gym as soon as Victoria re-open the gym. miss my PT trainer and everything :( this place is awesome
