Fantastic experience: So many different classes to choose from! Definitely Reformer Pilates is a must. Somerville has a great 25m pool with 6 lanes. This gives you a good swimming distance for laps.

Positive experience: Used for hydrotherapy post operation. The centre is good but the hydrotherapy pool is showing signs of age! E.g. cracked tiles and mortar wear and tear?

Fantastic experience: Core24 provides a great environment for physical fitness and health with their vast array of activities designed to get you into great shape. The newly renovated gym now has an updated weights room and machines along with two huge group fitness rooms. The welcoming staff and trainers provide us clients with the best customer service in a friendly, relaxed way which makes it a place you always feel welcome at and want to keep returning too! Also, if you join Core24 here at Somerville you’ll also get access to the pool and on weekends can bring your family in for free as well!

Fantastic experience: Great new equipment. Friendly staff.

Negative experience: Swim teachers are short tempered and insensitive. Instead of working with my child to overcome her issues she was told to hurry up then moved out of the way and told to get out of the pool. She is 4!!! I will be looking for another facility that has patient and friendly staff willing to work with the kids. Those teachers need to retire

Fantastic experience: I was unsure as to whether I wanted to remain a member at Core24 or not, but after speaking with Taj(worker) he was amazingly helpful and made me really excited to stay with Core, he explained how all the classes work and I will now participate in them as i was starting to lose motivation when going to the gym. Thankyou Taj! You were awesome!!

Fantastic experience: I think core24 is really great I get to do all my things that I need to do and then I go to do more exercising in the smaller pool before I go and do some laps in the bigger pool so they have everything there that I need to do my exercising .

Fantastic experience: I have recently joined and am loving it! The group classes have just started up so I am making a point to try as many as I can to find the classes/teachers that I like the most. So far every class and teacher has been amazing. I enjoy the variety I have with my membership that includes reformer pilates, group classes, yoga, cardio equipment and weights. I dont swim but its nice to know the option is there. I get so much value from the cost of the membership and access to sauna and salt rooms at the other locations. All the staff members have all been lovely! Joining Core 24 has really motivated me to work out and all the members I have chatted with have all been so nice and supportive.

Fantastic experience: One stop shop for all your fitness needs! This gym has a great variety of classes like body pump, reformer pilates and cycle, the gym itself has a huge variety of strength and cardio machines, and the pool speaks for itself!! I love the hydro pool for my recovery. Staff are friendly and attentive to your needs. Joe the owner pops into the gym every now and then and is always happy to have a chat to his members. Best gym in Somerville!

Negative experience: Really unimpressed with the upkeep of the gym, I’ve been going for over a month and the hand sanitizer and paper towel to clean the equipment hasn’t been restocked. Not only that but the staff failed to inform not only me but other people at the gym that they have new security measures and as a paying customer I was unable to get into the gym, I tried calling the after hours phone for over 15 minutes and still was unable to get in contact with someone to let me in. After all of the stuff ups on their end they still want me to pay to terminate my membership however if they did their job right I wouldn’t feel the need to terminate my membership

Positive experience: I really enjoy the reformer pilates and the other classes. The weights room is well set-up with all the equipment needed. I only give the 4 stars as the floor areas feel grotty, when doing mat work I always put a towel or a mat down onto the foam floors. The team members are very approachable and will always help happily with any questions.

Fantastic experience: I have been doing quite a few reformer classes over the last 7 years, but I stared going to somerville core as it was closer to where I live and that's when i found the most amazing reformer instructor Jo.M . Jo explains the techniques of all of the movements in every class and my back has improved since I have become stronger in my core . Thanks to Jo.M

Fantastic experience: I love Wednesday reformer classes with Jo M. Fun, friendly and you get a great workout. Pool area is spotless and always a lane for some laps

Positive experience: I joined in May this year and have been doing reformer Pilates with Jo M at Somerville who is a fantastic instructor. The classes are challenging but enjoyable and I've managed to lose about 10kg and tone up!!

Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend! Old equipment, don’t let you cancel memberships even with supporting letters due to injury and medical conditions. Would much rather go to a gym that isn’t all about money.

Fantastic experience: Great gym - pool is fantastic and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful! The Pilates class with Trent Emond on Tuesdays is very early (6AM!) but a great way to start the day!

Positive experience: It's not the gym that everyone will want but it does what I need it to do. The pool is a big bonus

Negative experience: Pool review: This is a nice pool to swim at and I use the gym for the pool, but the pool times are scheduled really badly. After work the lanes are full of swimming lessons with maybe 1 lane free for the rest of the swimmers. Last time I swam in the middle lane (of 6) with all the parents and kids on either side of me. I get booted from the pool at 7:45 PM on weekdays and the weekend open and closing times are worse as there is no lifeguard around.

Negative experience: Took my son so he could practice some laps before his school swimming. Was told that they don’t let kids swim in the pool during the week. Fair enough if they didn’t have a lifeguard on duty but they didn’t give me a reason as to why kids can’t use the pool! Poor form

Negative experience: Perhaps the rudest staff member god ever created. We won’t be back, word to the wise, take your patronage elsewhere.

Negative experience: Worst communication. Happy to sign you up but like talking to a brick wall to cancel membership- even after minimum term. Staff members need to be trained more about how memberships work! 5 phone calls and an email later and still not resolved and taking my money. Passed on to ‘Head Office’ and still haven’t heard. Re think before signing up here! Equipment is well overdue for a refresh too.

Fantastic experience: Excellent. I went to enrol grandson and they were excellent. Cost was a relief as I expected it to be more expensive.

Negative experience: Find somewhere else for Kids swimming classes. Swimming staff and management are useless

Positive experience: Great gym but doesn't have as much equipment as the other Core gyms in Towerhill and Frankston. The size of the swimming pool makes up for the equipment though. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Very disappointed in this facility, I noticed when the pool first opened back up after lockdown that there was an issue with the floor tiles in the 25m pool. I know that the staff, manager and owner of the facility have been made aware of this and months later it still hasn’t been fixed but is actually continuing to worsen. Although the staff and manager have done all they can do to minimise the hazard the owner hasn’t done anything to actually fix this. I have witnessed another member slice their foot. That shouldn’t have happened. To the owner of the core facilities, fix this now, properly. We pay in our memberships for maintenance and you have not upheld the standards. I will not hesitate in taking this further if needed.

Positive experience: My kids have been swimming at this pool for the past 8years. The swimming staff are fantastic!! When CORE 24 took over ownership (almost 3 years ago) I'm so grateful they kept the Aquatic Ed staff on as the new staff they put on the front desk don't seem to care at all about customer service. This morning was the first time I was actually acknowledged from the front desk staff when walking into the centre. Especially when I'm in twice a week for different children's lessons, it's sad it's taken this many years/visits to even get a smile upon entry.

Positive experience: Nice pools, busy though!

Fantastic experience: Great place for a workout, road works make it inconvenient, need to travel the long way to get to it. Roadworks have been going on for almost a year.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to somerville core for 6+ months now and it has been amazing, the staff are always talkative and cheerful. The gym is very nice too, weights are always in place and though the size isn’t as big as say the frankston gyms as of now it has well more than everything you will need. also renovations and improvements are pretty regular

Negative experience: Not happy that the cleaning spray and paper towel have been removed from the gym area. Most people do not bring a towel and I do not want to use my towel that I use to wipe my face on the equipment.

Negative experience: My kids have been swimming at YMCA for around fours and I no issues with staff and the way the swimming have been run. So when Core24 took over the standards have dropped considerably. Three months ago at the change over no one at reception advised me that I had to fill out new paperwork. I asked the girl on the reception if I needed to to anything and she told me not to worry as my information would roll over. So three weeks ago the swim teacher in charged as me to fill out new paperwork in which I did. Once completing the paperwork I was asked to pay $300 outstanding balance in which I said "Not my problem". They told me that they tried to contact me over a three month period in which they hadn't. I told them they could have spoken to to me at the earliest on a Saturday morning in which no one tried to. I even put a letter in to say that I wouldn't pay the outstanding amount for one child in which they hadn't been charging. So yesterday I was charged $300 and no one from Core24 management spoke to me about the letter. Core24 Management and receptionists are the worst as no one would take responsibility for not doing their job properly over the last three months. I wouldn't recommend Core24 to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this club! The staff are beautiful. Always there to help with anything. The changing over went as well as it possibly can as I gather the Y made it rather difficult, however the girls handled it fine all things considering. I noticed a few “angry” Y members but those obviously had no idea of how the system works. I am glad I stuck through it and am now excited to see the gym once the renovations are done. Thank you Core 24 team for always being pleasant and always having smiles as we walk in.

Fantastic experience: Have been attending Core 24 for the last month for the use of the gym facilities and so far I am loving it. Grateful that the group classes are held away from the main gym area allowing access to all the equipment. Bathroom facilities are great - Big Showers etc..Staff have all been great too friendly helpful etc. Keep up the great work .

Negative experience: My daughter was attending swimming lessons when it was YMCA, as did my 2 other children. Ever since changing to core 24 the class size has increased to 8 kids! The kids are spending more time standing in the water than actually swimming. Teachers are all over the place and different every week. Unfortunately after attending with my children for the past 7 years I have now cancelled and will go somewhere else. Also the staff are pretty slack. Instead of greeting members they are sitting on their phones or eating food at the front desk. Very unprofessional!!

Negative experience: Transition to core 24 has been horrible. Having major difficulty cancelling membership with staff not calling back, and no way to cancel unless going in to the gym even though I now live over an hour away. Not happy.
