Derrimut 24:7 Gym - Macgregor

Negative experience: Cheating People(Should be ZERO star) Me and my wife gave 30 days notice to cancel our membership on 21/5/2024. 30 days should be finished on 20/6/2024(Because on May 31 days). When we cancel our membership, Derrimut team member Tiffany said there will be only 2 payments debited from our account before the end of our membership. And she said if there is any extra money taken from our account after we finish our membership, they can give that money back to the store. But on our last day on 20/6/2024 they took another fortnight payment from our account, still the gym is going to close 30th of June 2024. We called Debitsuccess as well and they said Derrimut gym(someone called AMY) cancelled our membership on 21/6/2024, after taking money from our account. Debitsuccess said Derrimut should canceled the membership on 20/6/2024, but they did on 21/6/2024 I called Derrimut gym last Friday and the manager said they are going to close the gym and they don't have any control now and also said it can be unfair to take out the money from our account like that. Is this the way they are making money? I don't know how many members faced this. This is not the first time this happened to us. Because we were members they helped us but now they don't want to. Please please don't take money from non members accounts and please don't cheat members. We trust you and give our account details, but not to take money whenever you want.

Negative experience: This gym sucks. Advertised as 24:7 outside the gym while has opening hours 6am-10pm and is closed some days such as today. I only came here because I have a membership from SA but this gym is giving Derrimut a bad name. Some staff are rude too and overly enforce the towel policy, was told if i don’t have a towel i need to buy one or can't use the gym despite never once leaving a sweat mark and always wiping with paper towels. Only thing it has going for it is that it’s quiet but I guess you can see why no one comes here.

Positive experience: It's ok gym not the same as the other ones in Victoria as they all have classes included this one doesn't have any classes so if it's just a gym you want it's perfect but classes don't bother. Probably won't join Derrimut again because relocated to Gold Coast.

Negative experience: Avoid these greedy. changed timing..refused to cancel membership without extra cost($199). Now cancelled membership still deducts money from my account. Unprofessional staff. these tactics won't last In business. Waiting and wishing to get it shut permanently.

Fantastic experience: Top tier gym, music slaps, great equipment

Fantastic experience: Although this gym is not longer 24:7 don't let the 1 star reviews complaining about it fool you. This is one of most underrated gyms in Brisbane! Staffed 100% of the time they're open, they have a shop front that always has great sales on quality products and their membership prices are unbeatable being one of the only places that sell a flat fee membership. The gym itself may be small but it's got an impressive variety of equipment and better yet the equipment is brand new, properly maintained by their fantastic staff who are always keeping the place spotless. The atmosphere is awesome, not too busy and other members are friendly and always up for a chat. Music is always going off and doesn't just have the generic gym tunes most other gyms have, they've always got a great variety. Overall I would 100% recommend this gym to any locals who want the personable experience of a small gym but the cost and perk benefits of being a gym chain. 5 Stars!

Fantastic experience: Derrimut Macregor always has a sale with affordable memberships rather than the commercialised gyms that now charge a massive weekly fee, it’s always a clean space with a variety or equipment, supps, and amenities. I really enjoy going to this gym because the staff are super friendly and it’s a really supportive environment. I just wish there were more Derrimut gyms around!

The staff are super friendly, always greeted with a smile, they are more than accommodating when I’ve had any queries! The gym is always clean and tidy, and all of the members I’ve come across are happy to lend a hand for a spot when I’ve needed ! 5 stars Amazing!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love the cozy feel of this gym. It may look small but it’s got all the machines the vast majority of people would need. All the staff are super friendly and inviting. Everything is very clean and sanitary as well. Only downside I’d say is the non 24hr aspect. Still open till 10 everyday tho.

The staff here are so welcoming and always go above and beyond to make me feel empowered and push past my comfort zone. Amazing facility, always clean, members are friendly.

Negative experience: I originally signed up to the gym for 24/7 access. The gym decided to no longer accomadate this and reduced its hours, the gym never offered a discount on the membership due to less access hours... I decided it was not fair and I wanted to cancel my contract as they had changed what they were offering. The company refused to cancel my membership without a $200 fee until I threatened legal action. This gym was fine up until then and find the way they handled reducing the hours was terrible and straight up un-Australian. Go to the gym over the road. At least it has 24/7 in the gym name and its open 24/7

Negative experience: I Paid for 24/7 Gym, But after a month they changed the trading hours. i can’t come in that hours so i asked for the refund but they are not providing, It Was a very disappointing experience.

Negative experience: Went in for a casual, never again. Very unprofessional staff, overheard two staff members doing an offensive Asian accent and mocking members for asking for refunds. Maybe spend less time making stupid TikTok videos at the desk and you wouldn't be running this gym into the ground.

Negative experience: Used to be a great gym, wonderful sense of community and some great staff. Bit by bit though the positives have diminished and I was forced to seek an alternative place to train. New hours makes it difficult to train more than once a week with uni and work commitments. The community at derrimut has scattered and the trust of its customers and employees have been lost. Unfortunate to see but all good things must come to an end, shame it came so soon.

Negative experience: Paid for a yearly membership expecting the gym to be 24/7, but the gym switched their hours 3 months later so they’re not 24/7 anymore. The new hours meant I couldn’t go to the gym due to work and uni commitments and I had to switch to a new gym.

Negative experience: When the gym first opened it was a pretty good gym. Like everyone else i joined the gym due to the 24/7 service. However, after changing their service hours it became a terrible experience. I am very busy and can no longer attend this gym due to its tight staffed hours. Maybe attend the gym 1-2 times a week and is too busy on the other days. I would recommend people to go find another gym as the amount you are paying is not worth it for their service hours. With the sudden change I want to terminate my contract without any penalties. This is because (for everyone else that also wants to leave due to this change) the QLD legislation states we have the right to do so in this circumstance. Once again this gym is now terrible please don’t get gaslighted with their cheap prices and pay an extra few dollars while getting a 24/7 gym.

Negative experience: Despite changing their hours and the contract stating no refunds, the team were kindly able to provide a refund. Glad to see members being heard and looked after.

Negative experience: Came in as a casual with my Dad, who is a derrimut member of 3 years from Melbourne. We came under the impression that the gym would be opened 24/7. However, we were both greatly disappointed to find that the gym was closed at 6pm?? They even have a sign out the front that emphasises that they are 24/7, which is false advertising. Go to World Gym guys, as they are ACTUALLY a 24 hr Gym.

Negative experience: I purchased a yearly membership 6 months ago and now they aren’t 24/7. They only open at 6am and I need to leave around 6am. I now have to waste the last 6 months of the membership. The gym is really nice though and I loved how it wasn’t busy when I went as I have so much gym anxiety. I have already called but they said there was nothing they could do and to email a complaint which I did but I never got a response. Both my partner and I will no longer go here. Sounds like they are heading in the same direction as the many gyms that were there before them.

Negative experience: Bought a full year membership and now magically after signing people up and misleading that it’s a 24:7 gym, they close at 10pm. Please don’t give inaccurate information to your customers. This is your first branch in Queensland and you’re already messing it up. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST, YOU’LL FIND BETTER OPTIONS NEARBY !!!!!

Negative experience: Purchased 1 year membership purely because they were 24/7. Not even 3 months into membership they stopped 24/7 trading. On top of that, the new hours are not adequate, not even industry standard. Emailed about not being happy with new hours, never got a response. They are still advertising as 24/7. They also advertise that they are open every day of the year and have closed completely for 4 days over the Easter break, can only imagine what other holidays are going to be like. If you are looking for a gym in the area I would avoid this one. Very poor customer service!

Positive experience: Clean gym but lacks equipments like deadlift platforms. Has everything you need bodybuilding wise but if youre a serious lifter(powerlifter&olympic) might not be the best gym but it does the job.

Positive experience: Love this gym - great equipment, clean, and staff are super friendly. However, they haven’t fixed their water bubblers (for a while now) which is annoying when you can’t get a drink.
