Anytime Fitness: Opinions
Negative experience: Got the job done. However, I have trained at many Anytime fitness’s all over Australia and the world and I agree with what others are saying, this gym needs a big overhaul.
Negative experience: Poor customer service
Negative experience: Absolute worst gym I've ever been to. Equipment is disgusting and old, alot broken. The gym itself has the worst odour of any gym I've been part of. I live close by and now decide to drive 20 minutes past to go to blakehurst anytime. Don't bother training in this hole of a place, it's disgusting. 0 stars if I could
Negative experience: Needs some renovation and an upgrade, to old for the price and scarcity of equipments in the gym to use. Overall worst experience.
Negative experience: After 18 months at this gym, I've decided to cancel my membership because there hasn't been a single improvement. The gym is in desperate need of a renovation, and the equipment is outdated. The staff, unfortunately, is not helpful at all and seems uninterested in providing good service. There has been no change or effort to address these issues during my time here. I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone based on my experience.

Negative experience: Stinky, dirty, look like some shady establishment. But the smell is the worst, first time and last time, took 10 steps in, so stinky, left and drove 30 minutes to Bankstown Anytime Fitness.
Negative experience: This gym needs some serious maintenance. Have been training here for the past year and they still have not fixed the Benches. They don't lock when adjusting to different setting, something that I didn't think would cost much to fix. Gym has everything, and not as crowded as some of the others close by.
Negative experience: It was my first time here, and I was really nervous and unsure about finding the equipments. I asked one of the staff members for help, but she refused. It was frustrating and unhelpful.
Negative experience: Horrible. Broken equipments. Poor ventilation. Bad odour.
Negative experience: Gym is old and I couldn't last more than 10 minutes in there. The smell was unbearable!
Negative experience: Pretty poor excuse for a gym. The equipment is falling apart, the cable machines are rusted, the benches are broken, weight plates are splintered and actually cut my finger, which means I'll probably need a tetanus shot, and no one racks the plates or dumbbells either. I'm in walking distance to this gym but it's so dilapidated I'm going to get in my car and drive to the next Anytime. Management needs to look at the state of this gym, then themselves in the mirror.
Negative experience: Depressing place.
Negative experience: In desperate need of refurb, smells terrible and lots of losers banging equipment, not using towels etc. just gross all round.
Negative experience: old machines that makes noise, 40% machines are closed, not much to do and also it is dim inside the gym, worst AF
Negative experience: Thought all Anytime fitness would have same standards since they are a well-known chain, but this Anytime was the worst gym Ive ever been to. The gym smelled awful, like in a farm or cattle pen, seriously. It was pretty dirty, with old equipment and the air was gross. Normally I spend like 1-1.5 hours at the gym, but I was thinking of escaping here in just 20 minutes. Also, it seemed like no one there bothered to use towels during workouts or clean up the equipment after using it. And some members are really wild – they were working out in thongs or dirty work boots! There were a couple of staffs around, but they didn't seem to care about any of this. I know it's bit hard to tell customers what to do, but come on, there are rules for a reason, right? It's essential for gym staffs to remind members to adhere to the gym rules for everyone's benefit. Just a suggestion to anyone who goes to this gym: Please, think about freshening up a bit before coming in. It helps everyone out if you're in proper gym shoes, maybe take a quick shower or change clothes, or use some deodorant ( Thank you in advance! ) before you come to a gym. And, NO TOWEL, NO WORKOUT! So, would I recommend this gym? Nope, not at all.
Positive experience: Good equipment just very busy in the afternoons and smells like BO all the time

Negative experience: I used this gym whilst visiting Sydney. I'd honestly be pretty upset if it was my normal gym! Lots of the equipment is old and needs replacing (low key dangerous??). Equipment is strewn across the floor because no shelving is provided. It's dark and dingy because half the lights don't work, combined with the cat vomit coloured paint on the walls. It's honestly just a mess. The Anytime I go to in Melbourne is really bright, airy and tidy. They smile and say hello/goodbye... I'm not sure how this gym gets away with the lack of care...
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, who smile and greet you as you walk in. Can get quite busy after work. Machines get the workout done ☑️
Positive experience: Okay but I didn't sign up. Went for a trial, but something with the AF colour scheme (the grey) and general atmosphere made me feel like it was hard to train. Basic but complete gym. Might be okay if you also have access to another one with a more modern fitout.
Fantastic experience: Best place to train! Peter the personal trainer is amazing and has helped me reach my fitness and body goals!

Negative experience: WORST GYM EVER ! Looting customers by trapping in their lock-in contracts. Didn’t provide information about how the contract works. Only inform after you sign the papers. BEWARE … SCAM ALERT !

Negative experience: This place is very expensive and will waste your money. Bathrooms and floor mats should be cleaned. I didn't understand that the door key was sold at such a high price. Very disappointed.
Negative experience: Extremely expensive for what you get, the owner really want to make sure of milking your wallet. Customers shouldn’t pay for your renovation costs. joining fees to the roof too, plus keys fees, plus lock in contract if you cancel the contract they will charge you the remaining months. All unisex bathrooms combined with showers which is really bad experience. The place overall is clean and tidy though. I didn’t join because the excessive price
Negative experience: If it was possible i would not even have given 1 star. If you're choosing to join gym for first time try somewhere else rather than anytime. They force you to sign the lock in contract. Dont listen to the staff members. Very bad experience. Worst . Even worst experience than Karen's diner.
Positive experience: Ever since they renovated the place it has gotten so much better! The only thing I wish they kept are the mirrors in the free exercise area. Other than that I like to come here on weekend days where I don't want to travel to the city near my work. :)
Negative experience: There was an Asian guy and another guy 27th of June by 7.30pm, I want to try the gym before I join, these didn't even let me in the gym area. They asked me to pay 20 and forced me to sign some papers. Worst customer service, I told my mates to change anytime fitness. Full of racist people, never recommending to anyone
Negative experience: Very appalling customer service from Angus I wouldn’t even say it was customer service because he did everything to not be helpful, extremely disrespectful with not listening to you and trying to find a solution. Instead he kept saying there’s no much we can do when he has put zero effort in sorting it out. Not happy at all with that and would not recommend
Fantastic experience: It has 5 squat racks, all with rubber flooring with Olympic plates. Decent array of machines, and music is on quiet. Can't complain
Negative experience: Never give Ur phone number to these guys, they will call you every single day to join. Was going to join but not after all these calls.
Negative experience: The lights need to be renewed, they make the gym dark and awful. The air ventilation needs to be turned on. When opens the gate, what you feel is too much dioxide, not fresh air. It's unavoidable in the gym, but it would be better when you turn on the air ventilation or the air condition with this mode or cold mode with 22-25 Celsius degree. The bathrooms are ... it's better to clean more frequently.
Positive experience: People in this gym just take up the benches and stay on their phone also the weight machine don’t work for ages otherwise it’s a good gym.

Negative experience: Girl working at front desk at anytime fitness Hurstville with brown hair and glasses middle eastern appearance very unfriendly and cold/rude. Does not greet club members at door like other staff do. In the years I’ve spent with the club I’ve never encountered such behaviour.

Positive experience: What happened to the aircon? Floors were slippery and felt as though they had dew on them, everyone was sweaty, the machines and equipments were wet, although there wasn’t a bad stench it was very sticky and gross. Not the greatest level of hygiene maintenance considering the current situation. Disappointing, as this used to be my regular gym.

However, during colder seasons when the internal temperature is higher than outside, condensation will occur. Positive experience: Average anytime at best. Lacks MAG handles for cable machine. Limited leg machines. Lighting is bad. When I went this man was present and grunting everywhere. He left sweat on all the machines he used and didn't clean it up

Positive experience: Nice gym with friendly and helpful staff. It’s my local gym and closest to me but usually am forced to go Ramsgate instead due to the large amount of people training here having absolute zero personal hygiene, stinking the place up making it difficult to concentrate on training.

Positive experience: This place better start spending money on electricity. I mean their air conditioner does not seem to be working but only fans. Wintertime no problem as people generate hit. But this place has been quite unpleasant due to high temperature which also contains some moist in the air. Also, it would be nice if the video that actually matches with music come out at least one of the many TVs. Lastly, it has been few month already since the renovation however their treadmeals do not still have internet function on them which limits people's activities while doing exercise. Negative experience: Not a true 24 hour gym. Been denied access 3 times in 3 months with no explanation. Other members having the same issue. Toilets are filthy, equipment is wearing out, very limited parking. I'm in the process of moving gyms.
Positive experience: Not much to complain Squat Racks are tiny bit too close together for putting on weights. Still a regular here.

Negative experience: Went for a trial didnt like. Wasn't going to put myself into a 12 month contract.
Negative experience: Simply to small, the squat racks are way to close to each other everything is crammed in, you can see the owners only want your money but are not willing to expand the space or even clean there super dirty bathrooms, this gym is the nearest to my home, but I travel further to the other ones at least there have clean showers and are not so crowded, the members spend forever on the squat racks, how about putting a time limit for use, we are all paying members. This gym I rate 1 out of 5, worst anytime fitness ever.
Negative experience: Do not evet think about to sign contract. I moved miles away and I can't cancel even my contract allows me to. Bad quality, worst service. There are tons of options go and get another one. It doesn't worth it believe me.
