Negative experience: Forced to use a digital application on your phone to enter the gym. My phone got water damaged so I had to start using my old phone, the Zap fitness application is so poorly made it just crashes on any phone that isn't brand new. Can't use the fob I paid for when I started the membership. This grubby money hungry company doesn't care for their members else they'd urgently fix the app or provide other options. The Google play store ratings of the app speak for themselves. Do better.

Negative experience: I have been a ZAP member here since its inception back 2013. I visted there this morning after moving back to Tasmania and going to another ZAP gym. I dont normally complain but I must say, the place has been let go dramatically. No new gear has been bought for a long long time. Old bars, good luck finding weights that arent damaged. Benches were strewn everywhere. The place has had a coat of paint but thats about it. Really needs a refresh considering the age of place...

Negative experience: As soon as you walk in to this gym you are hit with a pungent unhygienic smell! The aircon doesn't seem to be working, its always warm inside, thats why it smells so bad. Ive mentioned this in an email to Zap Fitness but they dont seem to care. Also you get a bunch of people sitting on machines doing nothing looking at their mobiles..... i dont get it! ZAP FITNESS FIX THE AIRCON ITS NOT HYGIENIC!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: 2 stars for affordability but plenty of your entitled wannabe gym bros with no gym etiquette who hog 3 or more machines and claim they are using all the machines. Would love to see how you’re on 3 machines at the same time

Negative experience: I have a all club access with zap fitness. I have tried to access this club multiple times over last 2 weeks but failed. They have some issues with the FOB key and every time I go The front desk employees try to tell to come next day/week or access using the bell. Whenever you try to make them understand that it is not fair to keep such restrictions when I have been charged for the membership, the staff members try to push a bad attitude. Zoe (27/11/23)is at front desk initially tried to help but when it doesn’t work, responded really rude when I tried to ask her nicely about this matter. She went ahead and told me that she is not here to service customers and that she’s just helping the members. I asked her what her position is and she said that’s none of my business. I asked her if I can get her first name so that I can get a reference name who I spoke to and she said it’s none of my business. Worst customer service ever experienced at a gym.

Positive experience: Edit: Updating my review as the newly appointed staff member (probably replaced after my feedback ) is good guy and welcomes the gym attendees and shows them around the gym and help them in every possible way. 5/5 for the staff. Overall 3/5 for gym air-conditioning not up to the mark. Tough to workout on hot days. Pros: gym location and campus size. Even all necessary equipments available. Low gym fee. Cons: lesser treadmills. Less maintenance of equipments.

Fantastic experience: Hi there I moved from the Mornington Peninsula, November 2022 first job was to find a gym. I had a few health issues through that year so it was important to get back to gym asap Zap has been fantastic not only is it just walking distance it’s open 24/7 The equipment is brilliant it’s so clean and alway able it get onto everything to complete my exercise routine. Staff are so helpful and so friendly. So please to report my health it back to 100% and weight/ fitness so much improved Love being fit Good luck to everybody starting up Patsy ️

Negative experience: Zap flemington gets 1 star for affordability... The -4 stars are for easily resolved issues: -The weights are often all over the gym, making it difficult to find plates at times. -The gym is increasingly dirty, and often has run out of paper towel and hand sanitiser which doesn't help. -The new toilet set up with removal of the female only toilet to a shared cubicle is not ideal, the facilities aren't cleaned often enough to even consider using them unless it was dire. -The reception staff rarely greet with a hello when they're there. And often times are on their phone instead of perhaps restocking some paper towel or switching on the fan on a hot day. This gym will continue to attract members because the price is excellent and the location is handy, but with 1% more effort it would be a heap more pleasant place to train.

Fantastic experience: ZAP is perfect for those who has a set routine to smash through on their own. The Flemington ZAP is clean, good range of equipment and air con is nice and cold on hot days!

Fantastic experience: Clean, organised and a great range of quality machines—at an affordable price
Negative experience: Average at best. The lady that "works" at the counter is literally always scrolling on her phone. I've never once seen her not on her phone. The free weights are so old and worn out that the numbers have completely come off of them. It's a guessing game to know how many kgs you're actually using. I've been here for months and the staff haven't thought to just like write the numbers back on with a texter or something?!(It would require a very small amount of effort but I guess they're too busy scrolling instagram to do this?) They have a very entry level set of grips/cables attachments. Don't expect anything special in this regard. Find myself always doing laps of the gym trying to find specific free weights as they're all over the place. You pretty much get what you pay for, for $10 a week. They have a reasonable variety of actual cable machines which is a slightly redeeming quality, hence 2 stars.
Negative experience: It felt very dirty
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Zap gym for a while now and I am extremely satisfied with my membership. The ability to access all locations 24/7 at an affordable price is a huge plus. The equipment is always clean and relatively new, and I appreciate that they recently repainted the walls to freshen up the space. The convenience of having multiple locations throughout the city is also a huge plus. I highly recommend Zap gym to anyone looking for a great gym at a great price.

Negative experience: has a great selection of equipment, but it's always very hot, and air con doesn't reach every area of the gym so it's very uncomfortable at times. edit: even in winter, the gym is overheated to the point where working out is extremely uncomfortable.

Fantastic experience: I really like this gym, can come anytime ,. It’s really quiet and clean. The cleaning staff seem to clean every day. I met the cleaning staff every night and they take their job very seriously. I am an annual member and have been to many zap gyms(Clayton hawthorn ..), but this one really impressed me . I love this gym

Negative experience: Positives: Good variety of equipment and never too busy, particularly during the day. Negatives: This gym doesn’t function well if you are commuting or expecting to change at the gym. Only one female toilet cubicle, no changing facilities and no large lockable lockers. Toilets are not clean and there is only one hook in the cubicle. Within the training area the floor is uneven in places and all the equipment that isn’t weights or machines is worn out and dirty. Customer service (not site specific) is appalling, unable to get assistance with billing and instead directed to Debit Success who do not have access to contract specifics. No emailed invoices or records of payments aside from your own bank records. I thought this would be a good value gym but the general facilities are really disappointing.

Positive experience: Gym itself is fine has most equipment needed, some could use a little TLC, communication once signed up online was a bit lacking regarding getting access pass. The biggest issue here is the members that come in and have no idea what personal hygiene is. I had a couple guys walk in the door get on the treadmill next to me and the body odour smell was so bad I had to leave, This is a common occurrence. Then there are others that just sit on equipment and have really loud phone conversation for 30+ minutes and don't even use the equipment another common occurrence.

Negative experience: Critical: Communication, Professionalism, Quality DO NOT SIGN UP HERE! SCAM I signed up on a 12 month contract in March 2019. Recently they keep charging my bank card weekly for no reason. Never was I once told that my contract was extended or re-activate I tried to call and email them about the membership a bunch of times. And I got NO response. I've been getting charged for 3 months in a row and haven't heard from Zap ever since.

Fantastic experience: Update: Response from head office was very prompt and PT booked in within a day of posting this review. Great customer service on their end. Stefan is a really chill PT and glad to be working with him. Thank you! It’s fine, facilities are standard, except toilets and change rooms are unisex if that’s something that concerns you. Don’t bother with signing up for the $29 PT sessions as the PT’s will cancel on you or never call you again. Still waiting to hear from one after the PT head office said they would get someone in contact with me. Other than that it’s good. Gets busy in the evenings but alright in the mornings and afternoons.

Negative experience: The gym has most things except they frequently run out of antibacterial wipes, frequently have gym members letting other non-members into the gym. Additionally their communication is really poor - during the upgrade of their security system they didn't advise that you needed a new pass-key, meaning I had to stand on street waiting to get in for about three weeks. They had something wrong one weekend and the gym was closed but didnt tell anyone - rocked up ready to go but it was shut. Finally the air con struggles through summer - if you like work outs at 25 degrees plus it's perfect.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service. Dirty equipment. Continued direct debit two years after my partner informed them he had a back injury and couldn't attend. Then had the audacity to send it to debt collectors. They didn't bother to even try and contact us directly to ask why he hadn't attended. Horrible business model. Terms and Conditions have you jump through hoops to cancel. As a local business myself, will not be recommending to locals. EDIT: Disappointing that it takes a bad review for anyone to want to get in touch.

Positive experience: Is a standard 24hr gym. Not much atmosphere. It has all the equipment you could want though so its OK.

Positive experience: Price is competitive but there seems to always be something out of order and you'll waste a bunch of workout time walking around looking for equipment because no one puts anything back and the staff never seem to do anything other than sit on the couch with their laptop or phone.

Positive experience: Unfortunately the machines is always dust, and never have wipes available to clean the machines by ourself, the staffs just spend they time sit on the couch and not look after the Gym. The music system always have problem, the fan (A/C is poor) is not enough to keep the gym cool in the summer, around 4-6pm mon-fri is impossible use any equipment, because the gym have a lot of people and don’t have space enough for everyone. The shelves is always full with rubbish and bottles that members forgot and the staffs don’t cleaning it. The staff just sit on the couch with her friends and phone, never open de door for new customers and never look after the gym. I’m member for 2years and I’m really disappointed and unfortunately I’m not recommended it.

Negative experience: Couldn't sign up online. Went there in person, rang the bell for 15mins, no answer. Someone else let me in and the worker was at the desk. I tried to talk to him as he was just casually scrolling through Facebook, not even looking at me. Douchebag. Dont even waste your time...

Positive experience: Big gym with lots of equipment. Quite busy with youngsters though. (Absolutely terrible American RnB trash on the stereo, but that seems common at all Zap gyms)

Negative experience: Terrible customer services. I canceled my membership today. After key back to the staff I received e-mail from Zap that they will stop my membership on 30th August. The staff didn't tell me anything about they will continue cut money till 30th August. If I knew that I would use the gym till 30th August, I wouldn't give back the key today. The staff was not even in the reception when I walked in. She was sitting behind the wall. Not customer service at all. I need my key back even just can use only 1month. Or I don't want to pay another month for nothing. Very waisting money. Don't recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: By far the best Zap gym! I have had no issues and my overall experience has been positive. The manager at Flemington is extremely knowlegable, professional and friendly. He is always willing to lend a helping hand and goes out of his way to ensure optimum service is provided. The gym in general, most of the time kept clean, organised and well maintained.
