Fantastic experience: Good gym, plenty of space. Staff are friendly and not in your face like other Gyms

Fantastic experience: Thank you Daniel for introducing me to Planet Fitness Southport. Since joining I have found the gym to be a very accepting, friendly place to train. The gym has a real good community feel. The equipment is making me feel much fitter than I’ve ever been. There is no waiting time whenever I work out & all the staff are friendly, smiling & so welcoming when I arrive & leave. The actual atmosphere is all that the mission statement states on the wall at the front door. I’m finding neighbours are joining & saying all the same positive comments. Well done Daniel & all the team at Planet Fitness for making a positive difference in our lives.

Fantastic experience: Facilities are great and staff are always friendly and smiling! Service is good and staff do a good job explaining/resovling issues and cleaning. You’re allowed to change the music as well which is nice.

Positive experience: Amazing for cardio, not the best for weight lifting. Only one rear delt fly that's almost never free

Negative experience: Equipment is good and gym is nice. Employees are wonderful too. Only thing is, the pf blackcard membership actually locks you in for one month before you can cancel even though they advertise it as 'cancel anytime'. Kinda weird kinda sus

Negative experience: Really bad at service , I try to ring during business hours and they ALWAYS have the answering machine on saying to call back during business hours .... I've been trying to cancel my membership for the last 3 weeks as I moved and no where near any of the gyms and I just can't get hold of them

Negative experience: trying to cancel is just impossible no head office help do not answer phones and cannot leave message or send an email and when approached in gym they were very unhelpful about cancelling

Negative experience: I went in today wanting to sign up. I wanted to pay first 6 months up front - but they wouldn't accept my money. Instead I had to provide my bank account details (which I don't carry with me), so that they can debit my account every 2 weeks (which incurs 20% fee with each debit). In reply to the owner, it seems your front desk staff are not familiar with your registration and billing procedures. I would have been happy for you to charge my card, but they would not accept that, I had to provide my bank account details.

Fantastic experience: I think it would have to be one of the best gyms I have trained in with a great variety of equipment lots of space. Love the hydro massage bed and the red light booth and best of all the affordable weekly cost. Very happy

Negative experience: This place has been filled to the rim. Haven't really been able to any suitable slots where I wouldn't have to wander around for ages to find a free machine. There are no free bars and the ones they have are the railed ones

The staff are very friendly, the gym is always clean and the equipment available is great. And the hydro massage/massage chairs are great to finish up the session with Only down side would be the app which still doesn't work after being in the gym for a few months now but I did get a token for my keys to swipe going in

Positive experience: Really good place for the price, however you need to be flexible with your program because they don’t have plates or free bars, however I shouldn’t complain because I do pay my membership but I don’t get there often enough to be a Southport planet fitness connoisseur

Positive experience: Good value for money gym with reasonable facilities and friendly staff. The gym is pretty large and has high ceilings. Barcode access via app so no need to carry extra cards or fobs. Multiple cleaning stations around the gym encourage cleaning and sanitising equipment after use. Not perfect but for the price it is fantastic. Some negatives: can be pretty busy –cardio machines are always free but you often have to wait for dumbbells, benches, and pulley machines if you are there at peak times. No squat racks or bench barbell press benches – only smith machines; cleaning in the bathroom and showers could be better and maintenance of facilities in the bathroom and showers could be better (eg some lockers have been damaged and haven't been fixed in months, clothes hanger in one of the showers has been broken for months).

Negative experience: Company allows men into women and children’s changing areas. Avoid for child and woman safety purposes.

Fantastic experience: Honestly the best gym on the Gold Coast!! It doesn't get better than a gym with tanning booths, massage chairs & massage hydro beds. Plus all the equipment is really new & modern, love coming in here! Jack the Planet fitness manager here is a legend, so happy, friendly & supportive to all the members, all the staff here are amazing Wish there were more Planet Fitness gym's closer to Mermaid, but can't wait to see this gym grow more Australia wide!

Negative experience: If you get here outside of peak times you might be lucky to get a weight machine, and then it’ll have an out of order sign on it, for weeks. If you like bikes & treadmills, there’s a billion of those. This place is about numbers, pulling in the hundreds each week at cheap rates but not offering a service. Reception is always packed so therefore I’m putting my feedback here. The toilets are never cleaned and continuously run out of toilet paper. I watched the dust and clumps of hair build up in the ladies bathroom over time to the point I couldn’t change there any longer. I don’t think the floors have ever been mopped. Even cubicle doors have dust and grime build up.. The one water dispenser hardly works and is always leaking. Considering this is a fairly new gym and has the potential of being great, I’m am very disappointed to see how quickly it’s gone downhill. I will be cancelling my membership based on the above.

Negative experience: They preach about being nonjudgemental but they have signs that negativly judge men that take working out seriously. Woke idiots with no squat rack.

Negative experience: I'm just going to share my own experience and you guys can judge for yourselfs Planet fitness advertisers no contract sign ups to which when you sign up they say it's only over $10 but they sting you for an annual fee without telling you about a month in of around 90 dollars When are you going there to try and cancel your contract that will always say they need the manager and the managers never on but when you dig deep you'll actually find out that the managers are on. After multiple times of this happening I tried to cancel over the phone to which I was told I had to go into store to cancel after doing that again I had given up and decided to just not let the money be in my account to which they still kept taking money out after I tried to cancel five six times It's funny how they only have a brightly interactions that they want to in and never wrote every interaction in of me calling me turning up beforehand trying to cancel my membership that they want to in and never wrote every interaction in of me calling me turning up beforehand trying to cancel my membership. It's now 7 months later they're still trying to take money out of my account and have had to resort to going to the ACC to get this cancelled which I will be asking for my money back as well too for the simple fact that I've had to go to this extent to just cancel a non-contract gym membership.

Negative experience: My back had an accident and I took the doctor's letter and requested to cancel the membership, but thay lost letter and took money from my account for 6 months and no one responded.

Fantastic experience: Having a great experience being a member here. The staff are always friendly. Equipment and gym in general is extremely clean. It’s not intimating to train here at all and the price is great!

Fantastic experience: Joined Planet Fitness Southport in September 2023, and have nothing but positive reviews. It's always clean, loads of machines to use and not have to wait. Kudos to the staffing team there, with special mention to Leeza who always greets everybody with a smile and hello! It's very refreshing to walk into a gym and feel welcome and not judged, nothing is ever too much for the staff. Thankyou!

Negative experience: Firstly, Magnus was an absolute G, kindly showed us through all the different facilities of the gym and explained the benefits In depth. Jack left us high and dry after we waited 10 minutes for a simple tour just to watch him turn around and talk to 2 young ladies that walked up as he finished that conversation, he looked at us in the eye and then proceeded to talk to them for another 10 minutes and was STILL talking to them after we had finished the tour with our boy Magnus. Shout out to Magnus but to hear jack was the manager was disappointing and enough of a reason to not sign up.

Negative experience: Great place for training. Service was no smile and I could say somehow bit rude. signed up online, not even a tour for a new member. Had to come to ask everything. Lucky I had known my place around gym. Feel bad for first timers for not having clues. I’d better go to friendly gym. I’ll cancel my membership soon.

Negative experience: I tried to cancel my membership a while ago and they wouldn't let me to cancel over the phone. As I was out of state at the time and i've now been charged quite a lot more. Also, you can only pay with direct debit, which is an extra 2$ charge. So advertising the ten dollars a week is not accurate and should not be allowed.

Positive experience: Need to look at bathroom hygiene.

Negative experience: Happy with gym but can’t take the grumpy staff attitude, her name is Ana. the way she talked was like wanted to fight, rude, loud and aggressive. being aggressive won’t win the respect, professional expression will be more helpful. When I was a guest, nobody recorded my information, when I became a member and invited my friend as a guest, nobody recorded my friend’s information. Today she asked my friend’s details out of a sudden, if there is any new policy simply explaining will be understandable. Understand after a long day, worker can get tired but it’s can not be the reason for disrespectful.

Fantastic experience: I had the black card and experiences the quality of gym equipments and massage chairs and hot shawer. And the gym is open for 24 hours.

Negative experience: Went in the Gym as i thought its a new gym so thinking to change from Globe gym to this gym before signing the membership I ask the staff if I can see the gym and they said sorry there is no one who can show you the gym an I said i can do that by myself they said sorry you can not hahahaha what a joke.

Positive experience: Fresh clean gym ,polite staff ,no ego lifters . Lots of equipment, mostly machines and cardio equipment. Gym fees are very affordable. Lots of extras I only wish they had a basic "Squat Rack " or something similar, as being locked into the perimeters of a smith machine is bad for the back lol.

Negative experience: Good place but need to negotiate with the shopping center cuz you are 24 hrs gym but they close the car parking and all the gate to the center…..

Fantastic experience: Wow, what am awesome facility! I joined Planet Fitness Southport on the weekend and went for my first training session yesterday. I was gobsmacked by the variety and.quantity of machines and equipment available. Totally spoilt for choice. Everyone, staff and members were all so friendly and helpful, the place has a great community feel. Tonight I went back and did two group fitness classes, lower body followed by upper body . The classes were awesome and I certainly worked every muscle group in my body. The instruction from the class instructor was very clear and motivating. Add to that the extra perks of the spa, like the red light therapy room, the hydrotherapy massage beds and the massage chairs and I am satisfied that I have made an excellent choice! Coming from a gym where the management only cares about making money and doesn't care at all about what the members want, not to mention charging 4 times the price, it is an absolute pleasure to find the Planet Fitness staff to be so accommodating, always smiling and going out of their way to make sure that all members have a wonderful experience. Thank you Eugene, Jack and all the staff for making my introduction to Planet Fitness such a pleasant experiece.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership. They still charged me for 4 weeks after I cancelled. I spoke to Jack Speele who said it would be sorted the next day, that was 4 weeks ago. Every time I call they say they’ll get him to call me back which he hasn’t and when I call back they say he’ll be in tomorrow!!!

Negative experience: Sorry guys but seems to be over kill on machines that are not essential or necessary and not enough on the ones that get you the best results . One pec deck machine , no hack squat machine ? ( when you don’t even have a squat rack) ? No barbell bench press or machine ? No Olympic bars for dead lifts ? . There should be priority on compound exercise equipment in a standard gym regardless of the theme being for casual gym goers . For a $5-$10 membership you get an extra star , but disappointed the essentials are missing for a gym this size !

Negative experience: Cancellation was very difficult with an injury. The need to cancel the membership in person is ridiculous given i cannot walk and a cancellation by physical letter takes time to action. I was just charged for another two weeks at this gym and it apparently cannot be refunded. I enjoyed this gym until now but I'm very disappointed in this policy.

Positive experience: Value for money, at times. Everyday after 5 the construction in the Centre starts, jackhammerng, grinding etc. Can hear it in the gym and is loud and dusty/smells from the grinding. Lockers are not available outside of staff hours. The water tap is not cold, and the area is not regularly cleaned as there was mould on the drain for over a week. Treadmils don't start in SI units, it's imperial. I havent figured out a way to switch before selecting the workout program - I've learnt my weight in pounds because of this. Only one glute machine, that doesn't count reps. Have experienced faulty treadmils - HR, distance and calories. There is no way to enter after hours without a car. No ceiling fans whereas Springwood does. The lights are really bright, like glarey. Massage chairs can't be used after 9.50pm. Red light therapy closes 9.45pm Spray tan closes 9.30pm. Though I have experienced them closed earlier than above times. Red light therapy is more of a gimmick, its only a 12 min session, it should be 15minutes for benefits. They can't do longer or they overheat apparently. Massage beds and chairs are only 7minutes, again not long enough. Even when it's quiet staff won't make it any longer, you have to come back and ask for another session. The showers have a massive gap, right in the middle of the door. I've always found them in clean condition. Hand dryers only, no paper towel to dry hands. The blow dryers and straighteners are in a walkway, not its own room like Springwood gym. I'd like to see more variety of classes, like aerobic and yoga. There is no ability to chat to planet fitness online (I.e fb message) and planet fitness does not respond to comments or questions on the Facebook page.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic place to work out where you feel you fit in, no matter what your age, gender or fitness. State of the art facilities and friendly staff.

Positive experience: I want to start coming to this gym, I've walked passed before and it looks beautiful . I don't know what it's like to be in a gym, but I'm prepared to make a move to come an join in an become a member ✝️.

Fantastic experience: Probably the best gym have seen on the gold coast all equipments brand new the machines count your reps and have a timer. Only 10$ a week no contract and you can bring a buddy for free everytime you train, massage chairs, spray tan, open 24/7… Lots of classes and the staff is friendly Very happy

Negative experience: staff are so rude. make you feel like a burden for being in the gym. they didn’t even offer to assist us or show us around the gym knowing it was our first time there. a smile wouldn’t kill them. no squat racks, what’s up with that? and ONE leg press machine?! went to 2 classes and the trainer didn’t even correct form on the people who needed it, so dangerous long term. i’m a black card member yet they didn’t discount the drinks as mentioned on the website. plus, they have no staff rostered for the black card area so you have to ask the staff at reception to turn on the machines, and boy do they make you feel like you’re a hassle to ask. seriously, for a new ‘judgement free gym’ you guys have made us SO uncomfortable. i will be cancelling my membership. get better staff & add squat machines.

Fantastic experience: I’m loving this new gym. The place is large and airy. The place feels welcoming. I love the 30min zone, I come out feeling great. Hopefully they will get more of the popular equipment as it can get busy and you can miss out.

Positive experience: Overall, it's a place that just opened, and the facilities are good, but I don't think some of the employees are. I know the name of the tall male employee, but I won't write it down. When I ask a question, they don't look at me, they don't look at me, they answer me casually. It has a good location and parking lot, but the service is poor because of the low price. And why don't you have a separate staff to manage the black card spa room? You must check your card before entering. Every time I use it, the staff are busy, but it's inconvenient to go to the front desk and get permission to use it. It's too embarrassing to randomly check a certain person's card.

Negative experience: Review for Southport Club Very big place, don't have to wait for machines. but staff weren't very welcoming. The girl who greeted me was nice, she went over membership options. However, the dude who got me the free trial wasn't happy about giving out free trials. There was confusion between staff about free day passes. They wanted my details when the lady next me didn't have to provide anything. Dude asked for full name and contact details, but when I said my surname was confusing he just outwardly agreed? without being sarcastic or funny so I felt kinda weirded out No one gave me a tour as there wasn't much staff. I took my free pass worked out and it was fine. But the pricing is confusing with too many costs although being no-lock in. Overall wasn't a great experience and I wouldn't go back. It's in a bad spot being inside Australia Fair, parking is annoying there.

Fantastic experience: Just join Planet Fitness Southport. I have worked out in gyms all over Australia & around the world and this one is the best. I can't find one thing to complain about. The machine are easy to use and so many there's no wait time, being so large gives you so much space and freedom. As far as the Pizza & Muffin days that's your choice if you want to indulge. For $5 a week ( a cup of coffee) it seems to good to be true.
