Negative experience: Anything great just a staff not really welcome much, even in the morning, in front of the counter should be the first thing. Make sure they smile and welcome us to do exercise.

Negative experience: Signed up on website for 5 day no commitment trial and was told there was no 5 day trial and was pressured to sign up.

Fantastic experience: I totally enjoy my workouts at Genesis Mayfield. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, the classes are very well thought out.

Positive experience: Genesis is a good gym to train at especially coz it's always quiet when I go there to train....all the staff are very friendly and helpful...facility is great....

Negative experience: This gym is no good. No sufficient equipments and accessories to train. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this gym.

Positive experience: A nice gym and clean. Much better than in the one in Maitland. Sorry.. I went once in the morning and I like it as it was quiet, I don’t know in the afternoon. The Male locker room is much better but the locker was as always some are broken. But the shower was much better. Be fit! Be fab!

Negative experience: Genesis Mayfield never picks up the phone. I cancelled my membership a month ago and they are still charging me every week.

Positive experience: Pretty solid gym. The entry is in behind the RSL club. Staff are super friendly, good range of equipment that is all in good condition. Would recommend.

Negative experience: Wish I could put one star :-) Scammed over $1000 from me without my knowledge. A lot of my friends have left this gym after what they have done to me (so if that's not saying something I don't know what is). Absolutely disgusted with how I was treated when it was a major mistake on your end. Completely unprofessional responses from management. I will never train at a Genesis Gym again.

Fantastic experience: Through Fitness Passport I've had access to almost every gym in the Newcastle/Maitland area. I rate Genesis Mayfield second to none. The floor space is massive and even has a second floor which is a bit more secluded for classes/other activities. But what sets this gym apart is the Nautilus equipment that they have. The 'old-school' Nautilus machines are widely known not just in Australia but around the world as being some of the best in-class, and after using the machines I cannot find another gym that meets the standard of Genesis Mayfield.

Negative experience: Asked about cancelling a gym membership, they took over 2 months to get back to me incurring further fees. prior to that sending me multiple debt collection threatening sms texts. I am now referring the matter to the department of fair trading. Avoid this business Genesis Fitness Mayfield owned by Belgravia at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Great Gym, especially if it's your first time going to a gym. The classes are great, the stuff are very friendly and it's never too over crowded or quiet. I've been going for about 2 months and have been able to do more here than at home.

Negative experience: Gym is rundown! Needs new equipment, signs are disgusting, clearly owners don’t care about the gym. Not worth your money! Better off at any other gym then this place.

Negative experience: No classes are held at this venue anymore which is what I joined for 7 years ago. They have taken away all the yoga, pilates, barre etc and now it's just reformer Pilates which is fine if that's only what you are looking for. If you want more from the Mayfield gym, you don't have a choice unless you pay to upgrade your membership. A gym should offer classes that suits everybody, so now you have to travel to the other gyms for those other classes which isn't always convenient nor the timetable suitable for you. The stafe is okay, but not as friendly as the previous staff there years prior.

Fantastic experience: Access to a 24 gym with quality facilities makes training so much more enjoyable. During staffed hours, staff are more than happy to help.

Positive experience: Nice experience, Plenty of equipment not too crowded. Friendly staff. Would recommend Has a sauna aswell

Negative experience: Called twice about canceling a membership. First person I spoke to was clearly new and had no idea what she was talking about an advised me of the wrong thing saying my membership will be canceled by end of month was then continued to get charged after the month. To then have to call back again and be advised by ANOTHER staff member that I needed to give 30 days notice and there would only be 1 more payment and it would be cancelled. I was under the impression the payment was taken but I was still continued to be charged. Was then called by debit collectors to which I then had to call them back to be advised by a very blunt staff member that it basically wasn’t her problem and basically implied that I was lying about my first phone call to cancel and I should just pay the money. Completely disgusted in how I’ve been treated and wish I never wasted money there .

Negative experience: Monet grubbers so desperate they will happily screw you over for every last cent. Don't sign any contract with them

Fantastic experience: I've recently joined Genesis at Mayfield and I love it. 24 hours which suits me perfectly and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The place is always clean, with plenty of equipment available. I have been a member of other gyms and Genesis Mayfield is my preferred gym now.

Negative experience: The gym itself is great in a sense of being quiet. Just hope you do not have any payment issues as they take weeks to get back to you. They have very little care for current members and literally hassle potential members to sign up, a friend of mine receives almost a call a day to sign up yet i have been waiting 2 months for a follow up on a payment issue.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful staff, the classes are great and there are plenty of classes to choose from! The trainers are very knowledgeable and will help you work towards your goal. The gym is also very clean. I would definitely recommend this gym!

Fantastic experience: Genesis mayfield is one of the best gyms in Newcastle. I have always felt comfortable training in the facility compared to some other gyms. The girls behind the desk are always helpful and possitive and outgoing to ensure everyone is made to feel welcomed. The only thing is the pt sometimes can get in the way but they are doing a job and that’s ok. I can’t wait to get back into the gym after I have rehabbed from a ruptured bicep! (Non gym related)

Fantastic experience: I’ve really enjoyed trying out some classes in my first week. Zumba and Barre are my favourite. I’m impressed by the size of the facility and welcoming staff. I look forward to weekend classes starting again.

I would appreciate a few more during the day but that might just be me. I love being able to add songs played over the speakers as I work out. Staff are all absolutely amazing.

Fantastic experience: I really like genesis gyms. I lived close to Cooks Hill so I used Cooks Hill Genesis several times. However, Mayfield gym was the first gym I used as a 24 hours gym. I was impressed and went there again. This time I found the staff was very fiendly and knowledgable and at the same time the girl was not pushing for a personal training. I work close to Mayfield gym and it is my favourite gym now.

Fantastic experience: Love going to Genesis in Mayfield, great variety of equipment and plenty there to use even when busy. Plenty of space to workout inside or even outside on the terrace.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to gyms for years, Genesis Mayfield has to be the first one I've felt completely comfortable at. The staff are warm and friendly, there's heaps of equipment and the all the members seem to be just normal people - there's definitely no intimidation factor! I love my mornings at Genesis, especially in the Coaching Zone.

Fantastic experience: I Joined Genesis Coaching Zone about 3 months ago. At my first consult the staff were very friendly and explained how it all works. The coaches are very professional and show a genuine interest in helping you achieve your goals whilst keeping you accountable and pushing you that bit harder each session. It's a great mix of people of all shapes and sizes where everyone is made to feel welcome and have some fun whilst getting fit and healthy.

Negative experience: Used to have a wonderful Yoga class on a Thursday night with Tina an amazing instructor. But then they cancelled the class for no reason. Put in feedback at the club got no response. Gym music is so loud you couldn't hear yoga music. Weights are often thrown around by users which makes hard to focus is intimidating. Staff are rude and not helpful. Gym is not warm or welcoming at all. Genesis is a horrible gym.

This gym made me feel very comfortable and inspired to improve myself. Out of all the gyms I have been to in the past this one has been by far the best.

Negative experience: Nice and spacious inside, but this gym has a major problem with people not putting their weights and equipment away. It's always an issue and the signs they put up don't make a difference. Always annoying that workouts start with cleaning up after another lazy member.
